She?s usually a pretty reserved person, but Emily Blunt ended up talking about her past romance with jazz singer Michael Bubl thanks to some prying from Howard Stern on Wednesday (September 30).
The ?Adjustment Bureau? babe took issue with Stern?s statement that they were ?perfect together,? after all, she?s now married to ?The Office? hunk John Krasinski.
Blunt noted, "I don't know if I was perfect with him. But we had a good time. I loved his family. I still do. I love his family.? As for rumors that Buble wasn?t faithful, Emily replied, "I don't know. It's complicated. Now I'm going red because I never talk about it. I never want to talk about it. You're like the great seductor. I can't do it."

The November issue of Elle UK is The Feminism Issue. So they put a grim-looking Carey Mulligan, the star of this year?s Oscar-bait film Suffragette, on the cover. In a baggy pantsuit. Because feminism. Actually, I bet the editorial is so baggy and pantsuit-tastic because Carey was heavily pregnant during the shoot and she didn?t want to do a bump-conscious editorial. Anyway, the reason Carey and Meryl Streep are saying words about feminism these days is because they are going to try to make Suffragette a big awards-contender. Many believe Carey will get another Oscar nomination too. So, obviously, Elle UK asked her about feminism and such. Some highlights:
The ?strong woman? label: ?You don?t say to men, ?You played another really strong man?. The idea that women are inherently weak and we?ve identified the few strong ones to tell stories about?is mad. A lot of the stuff I read is playing so-and-so?s wife, so-and-so?s girlfriend. That?s not where the story is: I want to play him.?
She?s not sure she would have been a suffragette back in the day: ?You’d like to think that you would [but] you’re a product of your time. I can express my opinion, but I’ve never had to fight, to stand up for anything. And the notion of walking into a gallery with a knife and destroying a piece of art, that seems unbelievably terrifying to me. And that’s just one, tame example of what they did.?
Whether the world should be run by women: ?Someone asked me yesterday, ‘Do you think it would be a better world if it were run by women?’ And the answer is no, I think it would be a better world if it were run equally ? we’re still so far from that.?
Her impending motherhood: ?I’ve always wanted to be a mother. I love what I do, but I’m excited for this next phase of my life.?
Playing Daisy in The Great Gatsby: ?Playing Daisy was the first time I felt physically intimidated by a role, I remember reading horrendous sh** [online] when I got cast, people saying, ?She’s not pretty enough to play Daisy.? I felt so embarrassed. I thought, ?They’re right, I shouldn’t do it? ? all those mad insecurities that you have.’

I?m interested in seeing Suffragette just because I don?t know a lot about the history of the movement in Britain and America. It will be interesting to see a historical drama specifically about the women?s movement, because that rarely happens. In Hollywood, history is only about dude stories. As for Carey not wanting the world to be run by women as much as she wants equality? sure. I get that.

Sofia Vergara has a new beauty-focused interview in People Magazine to promote her new fragrance, Love, which is out now. Just like her red carpet interview at the Emmy’s she’s kind of cross-promoting her perfume with her wedding to Joe Manganiello, slated for November. Sofia is smart and she’s a shrewd businesswoman. She knows that her romance sells and she’s trying to capitalize on that with this second perfume. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen with her sexy but entirely one-note style, Sofia has some old-fashioned ideas about beauty and styling. She told People that she doesn’t think that women should put their hair up from the ages of 40-60. What?!
What will your wedding look be?
Personally, I don?t like the natural look that some brides do. I?m 43; I don?t really need to look like a virgin getting married. I want to look sexy? with a bold lip.
Will your hair be up or down?
Down! I think women, once they hit 40, they shouldn?t put their hair up again until they?re 60.
On a typical day, if you have five minutes to get ready, what do you put on?
Concealer. I don?t wear foundation every day, sometimes just bronzer. I fill in my eyebrows. Blush. I?ve never, ever been without lipstick and mascara. I never do five minutes, but I can do it in 10?
Do you things like facial masks around Joe?
No. There are things that I don?t think you should do outside of your bathroom!

I can relate to Sofia’s position on makeup as I never leave the house without putting my face on. I just feel like a different person without makeup. However I do love a tight pony and I don’t think it’s too young for me. What is she even saying here? One thing I will give her is that ponytails damage your hair. My hairdresser told me to stop pulling mine too tight or to braid my hair instead as he was starting to see breakage. So I’ve had to use clips to put my hair back when I work out. It’s frustrating as the clips don’t stay in when I’m jumping around and it doesn’t look as polished as a ponytail.
This makes me wonder what Sofia does when she goes to the gym. I found some paparazzi photos of her outside the gym and she has her hair down with a baseball cap over it. Doesn’t that get so sweaty and uncomfortable? She’s so dedicated to a look she considers feminine that she doesn’t even put her hair up for the gym. I wonder what she thinks about short hair.

The ladies at The View have stirred up more controversy, and if you want to see the video exchange, Gossip Cop has it right here. The conversation started when Whoopi Goldberg brought up how Lena Dunham posted an underwear photo and then quit Twitter after experiencing “verbal abuse.” Lena’s position was that it wasn’t an obscene photo, and yes, she was more covered up than anyone wearing a bikini would have been. She also knew she’d deal with backlash, but that doesn’t excuse the body-shaming trolls at all. People are just brutal. Anyway, here’s a shortened transcript of the discussion between Whoopi, Raven Symone, and Candice Cameron Bure:
Whoopi: “The minute you put yourself out there, in somebody’s underwear … you can’t be surprised. You know what’s on Twitter.”
Raven: “At the same time, people on Twitter need to keep their mouths respectful because they come hard at people.”
Candace: “I’ve never been more verbally abused in my life than on Twitter, and specifically in the last few months, having come on this show. A lot of people don’t agree with me – that’s fine, don’t agree with me. But you don’t have to verbally abuse me and rape me. That’s what they do to me on Twitter.”

Well, I sort of agree with Whoopi in that people should know the awfulness that lurks on Twitter, but that doesn’t excuse stuff like death threats, of course. Lena probably heard the most dreadful things about her underwear photo, but she also goes looking for a reaction sometimes. Sadly, the terrible people out there didn’t let her down in that regard. Those trolls hide behind their anonymous, multiple handles and will say anything.
Oddly enough, Raven sounds the most sane out of the entire conversation. As for Candace, god only knows what she was thinking by comparing nasty tweets to rape. Yes, it feels like a slap in the face to see mean tweets (or comments on blogs), but nothing is like rape except rape itself.

Rita Ora has a reputation for dating messy guys who lead to messier breakups. Well, other than Ricky Hilfiger, who seemed ok with it when he and Rita recently broke up. But Rita usually dates guys who get publicly dramatic over splits. Such as Rob Kardashian, who said she cheated with 20 dudes, and Calvin Harris, who blocked her from performing songs and said she deserved it for a “damn good reason.” Rita has been single for a hot minute, so it’s time for her to find another messy boyfriend. Enter Travis Barker, whose public battle with ex-wife Shanna Moakler led to mutual arrests and death threats. Yikes. Us Weekly says Rita and Travis are quite the hot couple now:
On to the next one! Rita Ora is dating Travis Barker, Us Weekly can confirm. The “I Will Never Let You Down” songstress and Blink 182 frontman have been getting cozy ever since meeting at the Power 106 All-Star Game on Sept. 20 in Los Angeles.
“Rita sought him out and gave him her info,” an insider tells Us of the singer, 24. “They have been together every day since.”
And the rocker, 39, isn’t complaining. “He’s really into her,” the source tells Us. “He likes interesting women and she’s beautiful.” Ora and Barker also bond over their love for music.
Barker, who was married to Shanna Moakler from 2004 to 2009 and shares Son Landon, 11, and daughter Alabama, 9, with her, was previously linked to UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste.
Ora just recently split from her boyfriend of over a year, Tommy Hilfiger’s son Ricky Hilfiger, this past July. “They were both too busy, the distance got hard, and both agreed that it was better for them to be single but stay friends,” a source close to Tommy’s rapper son tells Us.

This is a terrible idea on Rita’s behalf, but I assume she’s aware of Travis’ reputation, so… good luck girl. Rita also has a new interview with Yahoo, and she talks about stuff like her second makeup line with Rimmel. She also calls herself “a free-thinking artist” who “likes to spread my wings.” Rita says the first thing her fans say to her is “thank you so much for being so comfortable in your skin.” Really? Rita actually seems insecure since she’s always bragging. I also wouldn’t dream of saying that to a famous person, but I’m the type to start walking into walls when meeting one.
One more bit of Rita news. Sam Bailey, who won X-Factor in 2013, trashed Rita and says she has no business judging music because she “got a record deal straight out of drama school.” Sam says Rita hasn’t paid her dues or worked any difficult jobs before making it in entertainment. Justified?
