Elisha Cuthbert seems to work pretty steadily on TV and in movies here and there. She had a couple of movies this year and has another in pre-production. She also appears on podcasts and talks about how her reputation as a sex symbol affected her life and career. Elisha was on Rachel Bilsons podcast over the summer and talked about the pressure from studios to pose for mens magazines after The Girl Next Door came out. And Elisa just appeared on her old friend Paris Hiltons podcast to talk again about the pressure of living up to that role and how people make comments about her aging.
Elisha Cuthberts role as an ex-porn star in 2004s The Girl Next Door solidified her reputation as a sex symbol. Now, nearly two decades later, the actress says society still pressures her to live up to that title.
There was this pressure of, like, maybe the fashion world or whatever saw me as a certain thing when really it was a character, she told Paris Hilton on Mondays episode of her podcast, This is Paris, of the attention that came after the movie was released.
Even today, she says its rare for people to not bring up the fact that she was once named the most beautiful woman in television by mens publications like Maxim and FHM in the mid-2000s.
It ends up getting in the bio somehow, and you?re just like, what does that even mean? It?s not really a reflection of me as an artist, the 24 alum explained. But on the flip side of it if that?s what they see and they liked that, too, I?m OK with it. For a long time, I?ve had a lot of disdain for it and wanted to push against it, but I kept getting thrown back into that sort of stereotype. Now I?ve learned to sort of embrace it.
Though her role in The Girl Next Door struck a chord with a lot of people, its not something she dwells on in her everyday life.
I certainly don?t try to keep up with it, Cuthbert, 39, said. I would go crazy if I felt like I had to, every time I showed up [to an event], I looked like her. For me it?s not even me, it?s that character. So it seems so strange to live up to a character I played when I was 21.
Given the impact her role had at the time, Cuthbert says fans refuse to let her age.
Comments are just so weird. It?s like, Oh you look older! Sure I do. That?s the way the world works, she said. I?ll be on social media and I?ll see a comment like, Oh, why are you so old now? Because I am! Because I?m just older than I was. Im like, I don?t know what you?re comparing it too. Do you know what I mean? There?s this weird feeling, like, people don?t want to see actors or musicians age in any way. So it?s a sorta strange thing.

The comments really are weird. Obviously Elisha looks older, that movie was filmed nearly 20 years ago. I dont know if its people not wanting her to age so much as people not used to seeing the natural aging on celebrities. Elisha does not look old by any means, but she does not look as tweaked and toxed as other celebs who try really hard to stave off the aging process. I also wonder if part of it is streaming and the fact that people have may watched Girl Next Door for the first time and then go to check out her social media and are shocked its 20 years later. Anyway, I guess its good that Elisha isnt trying to hang on to that character and live up to expectations of her looks based on that. I do think she may actually be the one that keeps bringing up all her mens magazine accolades. Shes definitely embracing it and possibly putting in the bio herself. Its been a talking point of hers in two recent podcasts and it kind of seems to me that she has a lower profile than she thinks she does.

In her cover story, the ?Happy Endings? actress talks about her evolving relationship with fashion- ?I can?t believe how fearless I was. Under the age of 25, I didn?t care what I wore. Now I sit in front of the mirror and think, ?What lipstick should I wear?? I just have much more knowledge. It can make you insecure.?
Elisha also discusses the most awkward film she?s made thus far- ?The Girl Next Door [released in 2004] took me so far out of my comfort zone. The provocativeness that I had to exude in that film was daring? especially at my age at that time. I was twenty and I barely knew who I was. It was weird. I looked very attractive and the clothes were bringing out this sexy side of me. It was challenging to have to get to a place where I was okay with what I was wearing?especially when I was literally in fishnets and a bra and underwear. It was really tough.?

Summer is a perfect time for a wedding and on Saturday (July 6), Elisha Cuthbert tied the knot with her longtime beau Dion Phaneuf in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
According to reporters who attended the big day, the "Happy Endings" beauty and the Toronto Maple Leafs captain said their "I do's" at St. James Catholic Church in Summerfield with the bride arriving in a black Chevrolet Camaro convertible.
More than three hundred guests were expected to be on hand for the reception for the couple, who began dating five years ago.
The new Mr. and Mrs. announced their engagement in September of last year after dinner at one of their favorite restaurants on the island. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Lending a hand to fight a deadly disease, Elisha Cuthbert hosted the annual Pink Party in Toronto, Canada in support of The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation on Friday (April 12).
The "Happy Endings" star showed off her sexy curves in a form-fitting short-sleeved Pink gown as she posed for pics before taking the microphone.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, last year, the foundation gave out $9.9 million in grants supporting breast cancer research projects and fellowships across Ontario.
Stoked for the opportunity, the 30-year-old actress tweeted on Friday, "Looking forward to seeing @samrobertsband preform at the #pinkparty tonight in Toronto! Guess who's hosting! Lets raise some $ for the #CBCF."

Elisha Cuthbert covers the March issue of Maxim with the title of “TV?s Most Beautiful Woman.” She has accepted this honor with total grace (see below), but (and this is a bit embarrassing) I have to admit feeling a bit surprised since I didn’t even realize that Elisha was back on television. I strongly recall her for her role in “24,” but I guess I just didn’t realize she was on a current show. Also, I just took seven Advil about an hour ago and am still in a wee bit of pain (long, stupid story), so I’m a bit off my usual train of thought. What I do find interesting is that Elisha appears to be fully aware of the fact that her new show, “Happy Endings,” also stars a number of other very attractive women, and Elisha gushes about them in her interview. Here are some excerpts:
Boob tube beauty! Elisha Cuthbert has been named TV’s most beautiful woman by the editors of Maxim. Wearing a retro swimsuit on the magazine’s March cover, the “Happy Endings” star calls the honor “very flattering.”
“To think that one person could be the most beautiful when there’s Kaley Cuoco, Sofia Vergara, Zooey Deschanel? They’re all stunning,” says Cuthbert, who has appeared on Maxim’s cover three times before. “I’m not gonna fight anyone about it, though. I’ll accept it with grace. But being on a show with two other beautiful women [Casey Wilson and Eliza Coupe], this is gonna make going to work very uncomfortable. I don’t know, this might be a curse.”
In addition to her TV roles on “Happy Endings” and “24,” Cuthbert is perhaps best known for playing a porn star in the 2004 movie The Girl Next Door.
“To be honest, I think one reason guys liked that character so much is because I didn’t go fully nude. My character really could be the girl of every guy’s dreams, instead of having them see her naked and going, ‘Oh, that’s not my thing,’” Cuthbert, 30, says. “Remember Weird Science? Kelly LeBrock never got naked. She didn’t show you everything. I think that’s why it resonated with more men than it probably should have.”

Elisha definitely has a point by pointing out that she might be desirable despite (or perhaps in spite of) the fact that she didn’t go naked in The Girl Next Door. I almost always find it more attractive when people almost get naked (i.e., wear bras and/or underwear) than when they go full monty in the movies. Is that strange to admit? Hey, I like a good tease.
Now I am certainly (by any stretch) a television expert since I carefully pick and choose my weekly viewing material like a total d-bag. However, if I were to choose my pick for the most gorgeous woman on television today, I’d probably go with Natascha Mcelhone. I know she’s not widely known in the states, and she’s only on “Californication,” but trust me, she is a stunning woman. Also, Natalie Zea (“Justified,” “Californication,” and “Passions”) is not bad either. Man, I bet Sofia Vergara is really pissed about Maxim’s list this year.

I watched one episode of Happy Endings and that was enough for me to know that the show was awful. Well, it hasn’t been cancelled yet which is a surprise, but I guess when you have two hotties like Elisha Cuthbert and Eliza Coupe people are going to watch no matter how bad it is.

I’m glad that Elisha Cuthbert has made a comeback of sorts, I think her show is doing alright, she’s always been one of my favorite hotties so I’m happy her career is back on track. For a little while there I was afraid she was going to end up on some cheesy Canadian soap opera.
