Joining the ranks of other fellow A-list celebs including Kanye West and Lady Gaga, Katy Perry was announced as a performer at this year's MTV Video Music Awards on Monday (August 12).
Giving eager audience members and viewers at home something to be excited about, the 28-year-old songstress will be belting out her new single, "Roar," for the first time ever live.
Speaking of the new song, Miss Perry just released the lyric video to the tune earlier today when she took to Twitter, writing, "READY? IT'S TIME TO OFFICIALLY LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG."
To catch Katy on stage at the upcoming VMA's, be sure to tune into MTV on August 25th at 9 p.m. ET. In case you missed it, check out the video to "Roar" here!

It?s an exciting time for Teresa Palmer, as she?s just announced she?s pregnant with fianc Mark Webber?s baby.
The ?Warm Bodies? babe and her hunky beau are thrilled about the impending arrival of their first child together (Mark has another kid from a previous relationship), as Palmer?s rep confirmed, ?Teresa is expecting. She and Mark are over the moon excited and can?t wait to add to their family.?

Palmer also confessed that she met Mark via Twitter last year- "This is actually really embarrassing. I looked him up after I saw the trailer for his film ?End of Love? and realized we had so much in common."

Courtney Cox broke her wrist in Cancun over the weekend. Reports say she was hanging out with friends when she slipped and tried to break her fall with her hand. However, she ended up snapping her wrist because physics. TMZ says it wasn’t pretty.
Doctors came to her hotel room and confirmed it was pretty bad.
So much so, the medicos put a cast on the busted limb — but Courtney wasn’t taking any chances and booked private jet to take her stateside ASAP … to get treated by her own physicians. It’s unclear if surgery will be necessary.
This is terrible news, but you want to know who the real loser in all this is? Her boyfriend. How is he going to get a handjob now?

The ?Jesus, Take The Wheel? songstress was in the house to co-host ?Good Morning America,? as well as promote her ?Blown Away Tour: Live DVD? that hits stores tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Carrie will be busy in the coming months preparing for her role in the live theatrical production of ?The Sound of Music,? slated to air on NBC on December 5th.
Underwood told press, ?I?ll be living in New York for a couple months. It?s all live, so it is going to take a lot of rehearsals.?

Gwyneth Paltrow has been vacationing in the Hamptons for a while now. She owns a house in the Hamptons, and I guess she and her family spend at least a month there every year. Over the weekend, Gwyneth participated in the 9th Annual Authors Night, a benefit for the East Hampton Library. Goop looked like she wasn?t wearing any makeup, right? But that suits her ? I prefer Goop without makeup, with her hair kind of wavy and frizzy. That?s my favorite look for her, although at this event, it does look like Gwyneth attempted to flat-iron her hair but then sort of gave up on it. And you know what? I really like her little white shift dress. It?s incredibly cute and summery and it suits her.
Anyway, there aren?t that many stories about Dame Goop deigning to mingle with the peasantry. Which basically means that the Hamptons are full of celebrities and rich people and Goop fit right in. She even wore a name-tag for part of the event! Which is cute. Page Six also had this:
Gwyneth Paltrow was supported by hubby Chris Martin and kids Moses and Apple as she signed copies of her book ?It?s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great? at East Hampton?s Authors Night.
A huge line formed under the tent at Gardiner Farm, and she ran out of books. But she found a spare for one disappointed fan, crossing out the already written dedication ?To Sarah,? and changing it to ?To Susie.?
Also there were Eric Fischl, Philippe Petit, Nile Rodgers and the indefatigable Dr. Ruth.

I didn?t see any photos of Chris Martin, there are just reports that he was there. He must have dodged the cameras whenever it seemed like they might take a photo of him supporting his wife. I?m including one pic of Apple, who I still say is going to grow up into a really beautiful, striking young woman. She?s going to look like a mix of her mom and Kate Moss, I think. Apple has those wide-set cat-like eyes like Kate Moss.
PS? Did Goop wear a bra to this event? I don?t think she did. Gross Goop.

Selena Gomez already scored points at the Teen Choice Awards by not arriving with Justin Bieber on her arm. Of course, Biebs (who won three awards) made his presence known on Twitter. He reminded the world that this is his fourth consecutive year scooping things up at the TCAs and that he’s on a “break” right now, which is just fine with the rest of us.
As for Selena herself, she wore a beautiful jade green Cushnie et Ochs dress with double-thigh splits. The fabric of this dress is just gorgeous, and Selena looks good here. Simple and sexy but still classy. Somehow, the amount of leg she’s showing doesn’t seem like overkill at all. Also, her hair looked sleek and sophisticated — she’s one of the few that can pull off a strong center part and flat-ironing to the max.
Demi Lovato went against the grain with black leather pants and a black blazer that was paired with a sheer white tee. Honestly, I can appreciate this look except for the hair, which changes the whole ensemble and makes it seem like she’s imitating Ke$ha.
Brittany Snow played it completely safe ih an Easter-grass green dress with sheer arms and floral embellishment. This dress would have been appropriate for a springtime wedding, no?
Speaking of nuptuals, I’m pretty sure J-Woww thought she was attending her own wedding with cranky Rodge last night. You know this is just like something she’ll wear whilst walking down the aisle clutching a bouquet of Pink roses. Rack out? Check. Mullet dress? Check. Sequins everwhere? Check. Something nice: her hair looks decent.

I don?t get why Miley is doing so much leather these days, and I also don?t get why Yves Saint Laurent is trying to rebrand itself into ?Saint Laurent, the home for twerking pop stars and reality show famewhores.? The outfit might have been cute with different shoes, I guess. The shoes say ?I work in an office.? The Saint Laurent leather ensemble says ?I want to be Rihanna.?

I have a bizarre confession: if you lined up Cheryl Lloyd, Victoria Justice and Nina Dobrev, I would never be able to tell them apart. Right? They all look alike? Or am I crazy? Anyway, this is Cheryl Lloyd in The Hellers. There was a lot of midriff-bearing at this year?s Teen Choice. It?s like 1994 all over again.
Kerry Washington in Stella McCartney. A rare victory for Stella, I think. It?s a cute little dress, rather girlish and sweet. It doesn?t fit Kerry properly, but I think we just have to accept that Stella?s dresses never fit properly.

Angelina Jolie made an appearance at this weekend?s Disney Expo to do some early promotion for Maleficent, which doesn?t come out for another 11 months! Unfortunately, we don?t have the pics ? you can see them here. Angelina looked gorgeous and healthy, and she wore all-black, of course. While she was at the Expo, she talked to the press, of course. And I think her quotes are really funny ? she talks about how she kept making children cry whenever she tried to talk to them while wearing her Maleficent horns. Of course, the tabloids will probably twist this into ?Brad Pitt LEAVES ANGELINA because she scares children!!?
Maybe it was the horns. Angelina Jolie ? who got a standing ovation at Saturday’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif., while presenting a clip from her upcoming film Maleficent ? revealed that she didn’t exactly get the same rapturous response when she was in costume as Sleeping Beauty’s nemesis.
“These little kids would visit set, and I would think, ‘Oh, I am a Disney character,’ so I would go over to them, and say, ‘Hi there,’ ” Jolie told the packed crowd. “They would just scream.”
The mom-of-six added, “One little kid even said, ‘Mommy, please make the mean witch stop talking to me.’ ”
One child who didn’t scare so easily? Her daughter and costar Vivienne, who plays the young Sleeping Beauty.
“Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who didn’t scream when she saw me,” said Jolie, who wore a black Versace top and black Saint Laurent pants and shoes at the event.
She also revealed that it was her brother, James Haven, who remembered her childhood fascination with the evil sorceress and persuaded her to get involved with the project.
“Since I was a little girl, Maleficent was always my favorite. I was terrified of her, but I was so drawn to her,” Jolie said. “She had this elegance and grace, and yet she was so cruel. Just wonderfully and deliciously cruel.”
Jolie admitted that one of the highlights of playing Maleficent was donning her signature headpiece.
“She loved wearing those horns,” director Robert Stromberg told PEOPLE. “After awhile it felt very strange to see her without them, like part of her was missing.”
While Jolie’s youngest daughter wasn’t there to promote her film debut (her siblings Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7, also have walk-on roles in the movie), the 38-year-old admitted that her kids weren’t far away.
“They are actually playing in the park now,” she said, referring to the Disneyland theme park across the street. Maleficent will open July 2, 2014.

I really don?t think Disney has gotten enough credit for choosing Angelina to play Maleficent. It seems like obvious casting right now, and maybe it was obvious casting at the time, but it really is just a brilliant choice. I can?t think of any other actress who would be this excited about playing Maleficent.

After going dark for several weeks (or as ?dark? as she can go), LeAnn Rimes is back with a vengeance. Last week we discovered that her reality show really is happening, and VH1 will air six episodes of ?Eddie & LeAnn? at some point. And not only that, but we also heard a tabloid story about LeAnn completely blaming the failure of her album on Brandi. So, what has LeAnn been up to the past few days? She and Eddie have been in Aspen with Mason and Jake, ostensibly so LeAnn could perform at the ?Belly Up?. And LeAnn has been tweeting a lot of photos, of course.
As for the questions I?ve had about whether Eddie and LeAnn are going to get Mason and Jake on their new reality show, Brandi Glanville tweeted: ?My fancy kids don’t want 2 wake up but they R being picked up by dad 2 go 2 Aspen! Fancy! PS.no they won’t be on eddies show.? So, Brandi has declared it so ? no Mason and Jake on the show. But as you can see, LeAnn has no problems continuously tweeting photos of her stepsons. One pic is labeled, “Tip top of the mountain! #Heaven #Aspen.? The ?see no evil? photo is labeled ?6 lil monkeys?. She tweeted about needing a ?hair fairy? and of course, she tweeted about her ?new favorite boots? by Isabel Marant. I?m assuming Brandi has been seen in a pair of Isabel Marant boots recently.

When she knew she was special: ?It probably wasn?t until ?Blue? came out that it hit me that I have this talent that?s kind of rare.?
She loves Aspen: ?Oh, it?s so beautiful! My husband and I usually go at least once a year to Aspen for vacation. And it?s usually in the winter.?
Feeling comfortable with her voice: ?To be honest, it?s been 20 years in the making. And it really wasn?t until ?Spitfire? that I began to feel like I had settled into something that felt like me, that was uniquely mine. The album bridges so many different genres of music. Even though it?s more country than anything I?ve done in a long time, there?s a lot of soul and a lot of different things in my voice from people who have influenced me over the years.?
How she ?keeps her head above water?: ?I don?t know. I ask myself that quite often. But I couldn?t have made it this far without being surrounded by a lot of good people. They knock me down a few notches and help keep me grounded. And I really try to take care of myself and be honest. Like, ?I?m not doing so well right now ? who can I reach out to now for help?? It?s a hard thing to do, and it?s a very hard thing to write something like ?Borrowed,? where you really have to look at yourself, take inventory and be honest.?

I?m not opposed to a heavy, dark eye and I understand how it?s popular these days to pair a dark eye with a nude lip, but the combination on Victoria seems? weird. Corpsey. Anyway, the interview excerpts are rather charming. Victoria goes out of her way to de-glamourize her image as a jet-setting fashionista:
She is known as one of the world’s most flawless stars who is barely ever seen without perfect make-up or with a hair out of place, but Victoria Beckham claims she isn’t always so glamorous. Instead of heading to a Hollywood hotspot or a five star restaurant at night, the mother-of-four claims she would prefer to relax at home like any other tired parent.
‘Honestly, once the children are in bed I?d rather work or shove on a face pack and pluck my eyebrows,’ revealed the 39-year-old as she appeared in her 10th Vogue magazine issue.
‘By the time Brooklyn?s finally gone to bed, it?s all I?m fit for. Really, we?re much more normal than people think,’ David Beckham’s wife of 14 years told Australian Vogue when she posed on the cover of the September issue.
The former Spice Girl and mother to Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, eight, and Harper, two, is more interested in spending time with her husband and kids than anything else, especially now that the famous footballer has retired.
‘We?re all so proud of David,’ said Victoria. ‘Having supported him at clubs all over the world for the past 15 years and seen how he has been an inspiration not just to me and the children but also to millions of people, we are now just really excited at the prospect of spending more time as a family.’
After playing the sport professionally since the age of 17 for clubs in England, America and France, the 38-year-old hung up his boots for good in May. While David is now a man of leisure, the pop star turned designer has kept herself busy carving her own fashionable career. However, she admitted that she suffered from a bad case of stage fright when she presented her first collection to critics.
‘Everyone would file in and act so inscrutable. I?d think: “Um, did anyone like it?” No-one would say anything, so I?d just gabble to fill the embarrassing silences ? even to the Japanese, who didn?t understand a word I was saying,’ she told Vogue Australia.

Rihanna has been firing up her Instagram app even more regularly than usual lately now that she has been spending some time in her native Barbados and basically living in a bikini. Because you know, RiRi can’t put on a bikini and simultaneously resist sharing it with the entire universe. Also, she’s still showing off her cute new hair (which probably won’t last long since she loves weaves on a Beyonce level) and that tacky AK-47 grill while generally having a grand old time on various beaches. Note: I have left out some of the more gratuitous photos of Rihanna showing off close-ups of her tush (including a strategically sand-jammed crack photo), but you can go to the source for those gems.
While Rihanna unwinds, a new story in this week’s issue of Star would have us believe that her employees are enjoying some time off as well because she’s reportedly a nightmare of a boss:
Talented, edgy, and stylish are all words associated with pop prince Rihanna. But so are ridiculous, demeaning, and nightmare, according to one long-suffering member or her entourage. “Rihanna hs never been easy to work for, but since she and Chris Brown broke up, she’s been beyond horrible,” admits the exhausted staffer. “She’s in a bad mood 24/7 and takes it out on everyone who works for her.”
Among her appalling antics? Sending an assistant on a fool’s errand for Mexican food — in Sweden! “Rihanna wouldn’t go onstage until she got carne asada, but by the time he returned — from an hour away — the food was cold. Rihanna threw a fit, like it was his fault!” fumes the source, adding that obscure meals are just the beginning. “We’re always sent on some errand to the middle of nowhere just to find something trivial, like the ‘right’ ice bucket or color notepad.”
Rihanna’s party habits aren’t helping matters either. “She’s so rude, always snapping at people, and she’s a nightmare to be around when she’s hung over,” the source coninues. “I can’t even remember the last time she said ‘please’ or thank you.’”

Honestly? This sounds like typical entitled-pop-star behavior. Not that it’s any excuse for that behavior, mind you, but I have no trouble believing that Rihanna would get a kick out of making her employees sweat. At the very least, she should be more careful with those who handle her food though, or else they’re liable to seek a little bit of revenge. Never mess with anyone who touches your food.

Jennifer Aniston had a pretty good weekend. Box office analysts didn?t really know how to predict the box office for We?re the Millers, and their predictions were all over the place. At the end of the day, it seems like WTM ended up in the middle of the predictions, coming in at #2 behind Elysium. WTM made about $25 million for the weekend, and $37 million since it opened last Wednesday. This is one of the better openings for an Aniston film. Not only that, but Jennifer was back in LA with Justin Theroux this weekend ? she threw Justin a party for his 42nd birthday at their newly renovated Bel Air mansion. I?m including some blurry photos from the party at the end of the post.

Ellen DeGeneres, Ben Stiller, Jimmy Kimmel, Tobey Maguire, Laura Dern, John Krasinski, Don Cheadle, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Isla Fisher, Samantha Ronson, Will Arnett, Malin Ackerman and Dax Shepard were among the celebs who headed to Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air mansion Saturday night as the actress threw her fianc, Justin Theroux, a 42nd birthday bash.
The party also took place on the one-year anniversary of the couple’s engagement. Though the party sparked rumors of a possible surprise wedding, guests dressed down and the atmosphere was casual.
In the afternoon, guests hung outside on the patio of the newly renovated $21 million, 8,500-sq.-ft. home, chatting and listening to pop tunes (Nelly’s “Hot in Herre” gets any party started!) before heading inside to toast Theroux.
Aniston’s personal chefs prepared appetizer-style food with a relaxed buffet for about 75 guests. On Friday, a large shipment of Champagne had been delivered to the house.
Last week, the We?re the Millers star, 44, said she was in no rush to get married.
“We just want to do it when it’s perfect, and we’re not rushed, and no one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job,” said Aniston. “And, you know, we already feel married.”

Yes, one year ago, Justin proposed to Jennifer on his birthday. It?s nice that she made this year?s birthday all about him, I guess. Us Weekly?s sources said basically the same thing, that Jennifer and Justin seemed happy and huggy with everyone, but that Justin and his boys were listening to Kanye West and The Kinks (as opposed to Nelly). The UK papers claimed last week that Jen and Justin might ?surprise? people with an impromptu wedding at the Bel Air estate, but it doesn?t look like that happened. Which is fine. Happy birthday, Justin.

We’re covering some of the fashion at the Teen Choice Awards, with more to come shortly. Here’s a link to a list of winners. First off we have the lovely Nina Dobrev working a J. Mendel abstract print pantsuit with a deep v-neck. The Fashion Court has a photo of the suit from the designer and the top has a much more pronounced peplum there. I’m glad that it’s toned down to a slight ruffle on Nina. This outfit is just killer. I love her styling too. Her messy hair, understated makeup and sparse jewelry are perfection. Nina won last night for Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, while her ex boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, won for Actor in the category. Their show, The Vampire Diaries, also took home Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi.
Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars was super cute in white Hougton. This is how you do a belly-baring halter top, just show a hint of skin. Lucy is 24, can you believe it? She looks like she’s about 15. Lucy co-hosted the show along with Darren Criss.
Abigail Breslin on the other hand, is 17 years old. I’m glad that she’s older than I remember considering this dress, but that’s not to say there aren’t plenty of younger teenagers wearing outfits like this. (I feel so old when I see young girls in booty shorts and low cut tops. I just want to put a scarf over them.) Abigail earned headlines a couple of weeks ago when she debuted her platinum hair. She’s growing up and she wants her styling to reflect that. I do like that she paired this very promy green dress with a sparkly bolero jacket. At least she’s covered up somewhat.
Chloe Moretz was adorable in a little Christopher Kane black dress with bright, modern stripe details. She’s wearing Jimmy Choo heels. This look is so cute yet sophisticated. Chloe is 16, and she looks mature for her age without showing too much skin or trying to look sexy.
Hailee Steinfeld, also 16, got it wrong in a bright red and navy blue House of Holland dress with Oscar Tiye shoes. I guess some might call this look playful, but it’s too much with that bold, simple print and contrasting bubble skirt. Her eye makeup and hair look overdone. Maybe with a lighter styling touch she could have pulled off this loud dress.

Amber Heard is still promoting Paranoia, so she covers the September issue of i-D magazine in a spread that is — at the very least — more interesting than her recent Flare cover issue. For i-D, Amber is temporarily back to blonde while looking enigmatic behind her mass of hair (remember, she’s an artist, not a celebrity) and also taking time to whimsically dangle from street lights. I used to wear this same Batman shirt all the time in the 1990s. Nice calf muscles.
Once again in this case of an up-and-coming actor, this magazine shoot isn’t really what we’re here to talk about … nor is the interview, per se. Instead, we’ve got a bit of an Elsa Pataky situation going on here. But in an amusing twist, it’s not Amber who is acting like else Elsa here. It’s her man that does so. The interview takes place by phone, and the journo explicitly mentions that he keeps hearing “a sleepy, familiar voice” that repeatedly pulls Amber away from the (professional) conversation at hand, and “the man rudely interrupting is Johnny Depp.” So much for Amber’s desire to keep her professional and personal lives separate, right? Here are some excerpts:
Don’t ask about Johnny: “I have to fight, tooth and nail, everyday, for my private life.”
She’s always been an outsider: An openly bisexual, drug-curious, fashion-conscious atheist, inspired by Ayn Rand and George Orwell, she did not blend naturally with the “deeply conservative Southern ideals” of rural Texas. “My father didn’t raise me to be a damsel,” she explains. She started ?swinging hard? against her youth, and turned against religion after her best friend died in a car crash at 16. “Texas wasn?t the ideal place to express individualism. I was always told what a woman should be. I realised I was alone, that I didn’t belong there. I felt like I was dying creatively. I craved a place where I could express myself.”
She moved to LA at 17: “I just couldn?t stay in Texas, so I took off. I moved to New York, I travelled Europe, I worked with a fake I.D. It was blind bravery and ignorance. I just wanted to hear the word ‘no.’ By the time I got to LA, I knew nobody, I had no money, I could carry all my possessions on my back. When I think of it now, it seems scary. But I loved it. I had no responsibilities, and I felt incredibly liberated. That was ten years ago. I guess that means I?ve been doing this job, and nothing but this job, for a solid ten years. Wow, where did all that time go?”

Ten years, huh? I guess by looking at Amber’s IMDb profile, it’s clear that she has been pounding the pavements for that long, but she’s yet to really have a breakthrough role … unless one counts being Johnny Depp’s girlfriend as just that. Does that sound cynical of me to say?

The ?Jersey Shore? star donned a fabulous ensemble as she made her way up the red carpet outside Los Angeles? Gibson Amphitheatre prior to the massive affair.
The 2013 Teen Choice Awards celebrates the hottest teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web.
And competition will be fierce in the Choice TV Actor: Drama department, as Penn Badgley, Joshua Bowman, Lucas Grabeel, Ian Harding, and Nick Wechsler are all nominees.
Meanwhile, Troian Bellisario, Blake Lively, Vanessa Marano, Hayden Panettiere, and Emily VanCamp will duke it out for the Choice TV Actress: Drama trophy.

Continuing her weekend of work, Sofia Vergara showed up on the set of "Chef" on Sunday (August 11) in Miami.
Smiling in the beautiful sunshine, the Columbian actress looked lovely in a printed black and white skirt and a black tank top as she made her way to her trailer.
Spearheaded by Jon Favreau, the comedy also stars Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey, Jr. and Dustin Hoffman.
Following a chef who loses his restaurant job and starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, "Chef" is slated to hit theaters on May 9, 2014.
