| Brad Pitt: 'I had to understand my own culpability' in my divorce | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Brad Pitt is still promoting Ad Astra, which is to say he?s still promoting his Oscar campaign for both Ad Astra and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It?s been years since Brad Pitt did this kind of promotional tour and interview schedule, but remember, he?s not going to campaign for an Oscar. Hahaha. I?m not sure if Ad Astra?s box office helps or hurts Brad?s Oscar chances Ad Astra made about $19 million domestically in its opening weekend, but internationally, the film is performing well. Which just shows that Brad is still pretty popular overseas. Anyway, Brad chatted with NPR for his Ad Astra promo and he ended up getting some direct questions about his divorce from Angelina Jolie. He tried to be as vague as possible, but the quotes still made headlines:
On men processing trauma: ?Well, its just that. I dont know that weve been taught to deal with those painful events very well. In fact, were better at burying them ? at least certainly speaking for myself. You know, its this Marlboro Man image of: Dont show weakness. But then we were questioning: In doing that, are we actually denying our own feelings? Denying a part of ourselves ? a vulnerability, in this guise of Superman ? to really be open for our loved ones, for our sons and daughters, in the sense that were all flawed; most of us are doing the best we can. And is there a peace of mind that comes from embracing ones foibles and humiliations as well as our successes?
Whether his divorce has influenced his performance: ?I would be exploring it whether there was a script that allowed that or not. A breakup of a family is certainly an eye-opener that as one ? and Im speaking in general again ? but as one needs to understand, I had to understand my own culpability in that, and what can I do better. Because I dont want to go on like this.
Embracing a healthier type of masculinity from a young age: ?I dont know how to answer that, but it is the question. We seem to be a culture where we will impugn someone for their missteps, but we dont value what is the next move. And the next move, to me, really defines the character of the individual ? to redirect, recalibrate. I see that going on certainly in the workplace, certainly in Hollywood; male and female interactions that needed to be recalibrated [are] being recalibrated in a positive way. Questions of equality certainly still, still need to be recalibrated.
[From NPR]
Having covered so many of Brad?s interviews over the past few months, I?ve really begun to feel like he actually IS addressing his divorce and what happened on the plane, he?s just doing it obliquely in interview after interview about ?toxic masculinity? and having to learn how to be open and vulnerable. I?m left with the impression that Brad is basically saying that whatever happened on the plane and whatever led up to that moment was all about how he thought he was a big tough guy who could, like, yell and scream at his wife and then do *something* to Maddox? I don?t know. ?A breakup of a family is certainly an eye-opener that as one ? and Im speaking in general again ? but as one needs to understand, I had to understand my own culpability in that, and what can I do better?? I get that he?s talking about culpability and responsibility? but it also feels like he?s both-sides-ing everything still?

| Jennifer Lopez & Shakira are the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime performers | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

As we discussed Jennifer Lopez?s 21-year-old Movieline interview, a few commenters noted that nothing really sticks to J.Lo, that she?s basically the Teflon Don of Hollywood/music/gossip. I?d never thought about that before but it?s so true. Even if she has a bad news cycle (like that Movieline interview cropping up again, or Bennifer 1.0), she always seems to survive and thrive. It?s the weirdest thing. Anyway, Jennifer is about to have the best six months of her life. She?s a shoo-in (right now) for Best Supporting Actress for Hustlers, and the NFL has just named her the 2020 Super Bowl Half-time act. This has been rumored for weeks, and the NFL and Pepsi announced it yesterday. Shakira will be there too!
Jennifer Lopez and Shakiras hips wont be lying in Miami come February the superstars are co-headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The singers made a cryptic announcement Thursday on social media posting images of each other in very similar outfits but without revealing their faces. They captioned their posts, Get ready and This is happening. Pepsi then posted the big reveal image showing both womens faces. BTW makes sense the NFL would draft co-headliners for the Miami event, because deuces are wild the Super Bowl date is 02/02/20.
When the NFL announced its new partnership with Jay-Z, it said his company, Roc Nation, would be helping secure talent for the Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Were told Roc Nation was heavily involved in closing this deal and we also hear there will be a few more surprise acts joining J Lo and Shakira. Shakira last released music in 2017 the album, El Dorado and in November shes releasing a feature film worldwide which documents the El Dorado tour. Jennifer just wrapped her own 2019 Its My Party Tour.
[From TMZ]
Honestly, it makes perfect sense it?s Miami, it?s J.Lo, it?s Shakira. It all fits. My guess is that there will also be some guest performances by some Cuban-American acts too, just because there?s so much Cuban and Cuban-American influence in Miami. Gloria Estefan? I WOULD DIE!!! Pitbull is also tight with J.Lo, so I bet he?s on board too.

| Lake Bell's husband is an apocalypse prepper and a ham radio operator | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lake Bell was on Kimmel promoting the new season of Bless This Mess. I don?t watch it but Hecate does and recommends it so maybe I?ll give it a chance. Lake and her husband, a tattoo artist, have relocated from New York to LA for her career. They have two children together: Ozgood, 2, and Nova, 4. Lake told Jimmy about her husband?s hobbies and they?re interesting to say the least.
What?s in your husband?s mancave?
He?s a bonafide apocalypse prepper. Like doomsday stuff. Very committed. He has a ham radio station. It?s a pretty esoteric thing. It?s not like scanners. They?re talking about other ham radios. It?s very meta.
We have an apocalypse mobile. It has a gas tank that can go for 800 miles.
So he?s ready to go?
He does other things too. He?s got this huge tub in the mancave and he got an industrial ice maker. He gets ice and puts it in the tub, puts water in there and submerges himself. I think he?s like prepping for a freeze, can I go through an arctic lake in a pinch?
What could you contribute to the family?
I have wolf hearing. My husband is a tattoo artist. He?s deaf. I have acute sensitive hearing.
My plan for the apocalypse is to go on the roof and let it happen. I don?t want to be around after that.
[From Jimmy Kimmel Live on Youtube]
I know someone who has his ham radio license. He?s not a prepper, but I?ve met some of his ham radio friends and a lot of them talk about their go bags and got into ham radio to be prepared for disasters. Beyond the whole apocalypse preparation thing, its rather practical knowledge to have in case of natural disaster type situations where digital communications and power can fail. The federal emergency radio frequencies are accessible through ham radios, and ham radio operators can broadcast during emergencies on certain bands. Radios often still operate and you can communicate and get information and assistance in those circumstances. The ham radio community is super nice and welcoming too. Also shes so right that they talk on air about other ham radio things. A lot of it is Greek to me, but they have to know about how to set up antennas and which bands they can use and things like that.
Being prepared for disasters is definitely smart, but hopefully they?ll never need all that extreme apocalypse prep stuff. Some people go way too far. I try to think of it like the nuclear panic in the 1950s. So many people bought bunkers and supplies and what did it come to? That said, things are worse now and I want to survive! My plans are just to drive as far into the country as possible then figure it out. I have good intuition and Ive watched a lot of post apocalyptic dramas.
Heres Lakes interview!

| Cobie Smulders is baffled by her husband Taran Killam's obsession with the Rams | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I love Colbie Smulders. The weird part is, I can?t point to why. I hadn?t heard of her before How I Met Your Mother and I didn?t watch that show. But I remember hearing about her casting in The Avengers and being really excited for her. I think she?s just an adore-at-first-sight thing for me. Cobie is starring in a new show called Stumptown. It premiered on Wednesday on ABC. I haven?t seen it yet but it?s based on the Stumptown graphic novels that takes place in Portland, OR (which is nicknamed Stumptown, in case anyone was wondering). The reviews for both Cobie and the show are good. Cobie was on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday to promote it. Jimmy mentioned her husband, Taran Killam?s, last visit to Jimmy?s couch. Taran stars on the show Single Parents, which is actually Stumptown?s lead in aaaaaaw. Apparently he is a huge Los Angeles Rams fan, something Cobie doesn?t quite get. Of course she doesn?t ? who would? GO NINERS!
Jimmy brings up Taran at the 2:15 mark. They?d just talked about Cobie and Taran being ask to bring in photos and witnesses to prove their relationship was legit for her Green Card interview (Cobie is Canadian). He showed a photo of Taran walking out on stage wearing a Rams sportscoat and Rams sneakers:
Your husband, Taran Killam, was here about a year ago. And he?s so American, he?s wearing Rams sports jackets now.
It?s not just the jacket, he?s also wearing Rams sneakers as well.
That we can overlook but the Rams sportscoat, is this something you approve of?
I love my husband, let?s me start with that. We?ve been together for 14 years ? this is new, Jimmy. This Rams love. You now, when the Rams came to Los Angeles, he doubled down, he went all in. I grew up in Canada, we didn?t have football in high school. I don?t understand the game. I don?t necessarily enjoy watching the game. But I love my husband, so much.
Confession: I actually watch Single Parents. It?s a crap show and I don?t know why I keep watching but it has a lot to do with Taran?s super-dorky character, Will. He?s so pure and extra, I can?t quit him. That aside, I am both confused and identify with Cobie?s story. Taran was born in 1982 in Culver City, which is LA adjacent. The Rams were still in LA at that time. They moved to St. Louis when he was 12, so I am surprised it took them coming back to go all in on his Rams devotion. They returned only three years ago. Must have been a latent love, I guess. As for Cobie?s ignorance on the sport, there is a Canadian Football League and what I can divine from what I?ve read, it switched from a rugby league to a gridiron league in the 50s. Is gridiron football really so underground in Canada?
However, I did identify with a football fanatic married to a patient non-fan. Hint: I?m the fanatic. I barely watch anymore in solidarity with Kaepernick, but I won?t pretend I don?t miss it. I went to one Rams/49ers game last season because my husband?s boss invites us once a year and it was like a drink of water when you?re parched. But when I watched, I was hollering and jumping on the couch as my husband occasionally looked up from his phone to ask if there were more chips, followed by a, ?oh, and go SF,? to appease me. It?s been like this for two decades ? and he actually played in high school. So I have a tip for Cobie: it?s all about the rivalries. Pick a rivalry game and take opposite teams. That?s the fun part. For us it?s the Army/Navy Game (go Navy!) and the USC/UCLA game (BRU-INS!). You know the old adage, it?s friendly competitive trash-talk that really brings a couple together. Oh, and Cobie ? since you aren?t that familiar, the Rams longest-standing rivals are the San Francisco 49ers. Welcome to the Gold Rush, Agent Hill!
