The reason behind Brad Pitt's mysterious tweet in China may finally have a tangible explanation.

Neither Pitt?s camp nor Cadillac?s reps have commented on the speculated partnership.

| Evan Rachel Wood & Jamie Bell are expecting their first child after marrying last year | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I’m actually surprised by this news! Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell got married in late October of last year, and I just thought they were wild and crazy and sexy, but as it turns out, they were in the mood for baby-making! ERW and Jamie announced they are expecting their first child later this year. Meaning… if my math is correct (??), she got pregnant on the honeymoon…? Honeymoon baby!!
After secretly tying the knot late last year, Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell have an even bigger surprise for 2013: There’s a baby on the way! “Evan Rachel Wood and husband Jamie Bell confirmed that they are expecting their first child later this year,” a rep for the pregnant actress, 25, and actor, 26, tells Us Weekly exclusively. “The couple is thrilled.”
It’s just the latest unexpected news for the Hollywood twosome, who got married in California on Oct. 30 in a top-secret bash, where the Mildred Pierce actress wore a custom Chantilly lace mermaid gown by Carolina Herrera. The British-born Man on a Ledge actor first met Wood in 2005, when they costarred together in Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” video. After splitting in 2006, they reunited in summer 2011 — with Bell proposing in early 2012.
Back in November, Wood shot down false speculation that she was expecting. “Sorry to disappoint. But no baby on the way here,” the True Blood star (once engaged to Marilyn Manson) tweeted after she was photographed touching her stomach and wearing a baggy poncho at an L.A. grocery store.
It will be the first child for both.
[From Us Weekly]
I know a lot of you aren’t into her at all, but I’ve really grown to like Evan. I think she’s incredibly talented, and she’s toned down the more try-hard/look-at-me parts of her personality. And I think Jamie adores her, and he’s probably jazzed about this. I think Evan was “the one that got away” for him, and he waited for Evan to get through with Marilyn Manson, and then Jamie reentered her life and she was ready for him. That’s just how I read the situation! I mean, that’s how I imagine their sex life because I totally do that, and it’s really hot.
Anyway, congrats on the baby!

Making the most of her evening, Olivia Munn headed over to the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last night (January 10).
The ?Attack of the Show? starlet looked amazing in a white fitted dress as she made her exit and strolled to her car.
As for her gig on ?New Girl,? it sounds like Olivia has bigger fish to fry over at HBO and won?t be back for awhile.
"Sad for Nick? But I?m over on The Newsroom. Maybe whenever my schedule frees up I can try to swing both,? she explained.
"It?s all developing and there are things that I?m not even really allowed to say. I like doing the work stuff. I like when my character gets to get in there and fight for the things that she?s passionate about."

Kicking off their day with a swanky event, Prince William and Kate Middleton showed up at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England this morning (January 11).
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in the house for the official unveiling of a new portrait of Kate that was painted by artist Paul Emsley.
And while there has been widespread criticism of the painting, Middleton is said to be a big fan of how things turned out. She told press, 'I thought it was brilliant. It's just amazing. Absolutely brilliant.?
Of his creative process, Emsley explained, ?The Duchess explained to me that she would like to be portrayed naturally ? her natural self as opposed to her official self. She struck me as enormously open and generous and a very warm person. After initially feeling it was going to be an unsmiling portrait, I think it was the right choice in the end to have her smiling ? that is really who she is.?

| Nina Dobrev in Monique Lhuillier at the Critics' Choice Awards: amazing or weird' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
Nina Dobrev really stood out for me at last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards. She was one of the first presenters (with Henry Cavill) and at first I couldn’t decide whether or not I liked her scaly blue-green mod dress. It was like the dress stood out so much that it was wearing her. It kind of grew on me, and now I find it very striking. It’s Monique Lhuillier. Nina often wears bright solid jewel tones and she favors contemporary dresses. This really suits her. For a 24 year-old, she dresses with so much sophistication.
Famke Janssen, on the other hand, looked kind of scared when she was presenting. I was wondering whether she was freaking out to see her sort-of ex, Ben Affleck, in the audience. (Who didn’t he date?) This teal John Galliano gown with the sheer panels and ruffled neckline was slightly less fug in motion, but barely. It reminds me of those horrid blouses with the tiered ruffles we used to wear in the 90s. (Yes I had one and I rocked it!)
How adorable was little Quvenzhan? Wallis (there’s a name I will be cutting and pasting forever, I doubt I’ll ever learn it properly) when she accepted her award for Best Young Actress? She shook her iPhone in the Pink case as if it were an Etch-a-sketch and then she gave a quick thank you speech and exited. I was surprised at how calm and happy she was. We’ll be seeing a lot more of her.
Elle Fanning was also nominated in Quvenzhan?’s category. She wore Chanel and it looks like she paired this dress with shoes that were similar to the ones worn on the runway. Her people haven’t been getting her fashion right at all, and this is not a cute dress. Her shoes remind me of something that Hugh Jackman’s wife would wear. I think her stylist was going for young and whimsical, but this just looks like one of those bathrobe wrap-arounds that you wear after a shower. Comfy, but not red-carpet ready. Also, who put that Pink eyeshadow on her? Poor Elle. Still she’s super cute.

| Amy Adams in Vionnet at the Critics' Choice Awards: gorgeous or boring' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
This is a fashion post for last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards. We’ll be bringing you more fashion throughout the morning along with news of the winners. (Here’s a link to a list of all the winners.) Here we have the lovely Amy Adams, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, which went to Anne Hathaway. Boo. Those two will also go head to head at The Academy Awards, and while I don’t think Amy will take home the Oscar, I don’t want it to go to Hathaway. Maybe Sally Field will be triumphant in that category. Field already has two Oscars for Best Actress, and I’d love to see her get a Best Supporting.
In terms of Amy Adam’s dress, she’s a knockout. She’s wearing a designer I haven’t heard of (not that I’m a fashion person anyway), Vionnet. Some of you may think this is a snooze but I absolutely love it. It’s a very classic-looking gown with some careful risks, like the deep draped neckline and barely asymmetric peplum. Amy’s understated hair and makeup are perfection. She almost always impresses me on the red carpet.
Octavia Spencer was a presenter, but the Oscar-winner wasn’t nominated for anything this year. Her dress is of course Tadashi Shoji, her go-to designer last awards season. This is a look we’ve seen on her before and while it’s very pretty I’d like to see her mix it up. (I wrote all that before I saw that Red Carpet Fashion Awards said the same thing!) I was a little distracted by Octavia’s bangs last night, they cover a lot of her face. I’d like to see that trend die. Her makeup and hair are otherwise lovely and striking though. I’m wondering why we haven’t seen more of Octavia. She did a couple of movies last year that we barely heard about and has a handful in the can, so maybe 2013 will be her year.
Melissa Leo is also no longer on the high she was at awards season the past two years, but she’s working incredibly steadily, judging from her imdb. Here she gets it very wrong in a weird sparkly ill-fitting copper and black dress. She’s paired it with black tights, which is the glaring error here, and witchy shoes. I’ll say something nice – I like her hair and makeup.
And I’m just adding Jaime King in here for the hell of it. She’s a definite contrast to the talented ladies above. She’s on “Hart of Dixie,” a guilty pleasure of mine, and her acting is atrocious. She’s very pretty and willing to take fashion risks, though, and she gets a lot of red carpet invites. Jamie is in Jason Wu and this dress is amazing. I normally don’t like sheer skirts, but this one is modest enough and I love the small square print overlay and that fab belt. This is a very sexy look.

| Anne Hathaway in Oscar de la Renta at the Critics' Choice: hot or hot mess' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
I know Anne Hathaway is, like, super-EXTRA, but I still love this neurotic bitch. I can?t help it, y?all. It?s like the Five Phases of Hathaway: General Interest, Fan-Girling, Annoyance, Hatred, and finally Acceptance and Love. Annie?s a mess. She can?t help it. She wants that Oscar so badly she can taste it. I kind of like that she?s so in-our-faces about it, honestly. Annie won the Critics? Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables, because honestly she was going to have a meltdown if she didn?t win. I liked the first part of her speech a lot, where she called out the BFCAA for misspelling her name, and she seemed confident and sassy and funny. Then she reverted back to ?Supplicant Annie, grateful for any award you want to throw at her.? Then she got annoying, but whatever. I?m through my Five Stages of Hathaway. I love her. I accept her for what she is: a neurotic, beave-flashing hot mess of a girl.
Annie wore this sparkly, silvery Oscar de la Renta gown for the event ? it?s okay. It?s very obvious this is one of her starter gowns and she?s building up to much bigger and better looks. Personally, one of my favorite parts of her Oscar co-hosting duties a few years ago was all of the costume changes ? Anne can bring the glamour, you know? But this is okay ? and she had especially good hair and makeup. Pretty, understated, occasion-appropriate.
Bonus Sally Field! I don?t know who did Sally?s dress. It looks like the kind of dress that was probably already in Sally?s closet, something she?s had for years. Many think Sally is Anne?s biggest competition for the Oscar ? and while I get that the Oscar campaigns have just begun, it feels like Sally doesn?t give a crap, right? She?s proud of Lincoln, she?s proud of her work, but she?s not falling all over herself to campaign.
Helen Hunt in a Philip Armstrong gown ? it?s okay. I don?t have a blinding hatred for it, and it?s a nice color on Helen. I think those lace insets look kind of cheap, but this isn?t the Oscar red carpet, so I?ll let it go. I would love it if Helen really tried out some sophisticated glamour for this awards season, wouldn?t you? This feels like the kind of dress Jessica Chastain would choose, and I would need to yell at her for it.
Here?s Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Emily wore this Miu Miu dress which is? eh. It?s okay. Emily tends to wear a lot of clothes that only someone with her body could really pull off. If she didn?t have a relatively small bust, if she had wider hips, etc, this dress would have been a total failure. But she had that great figure, so the dress sort-of works. But I don?t get why she makes clothes try so hard, you know? Why does everything she wears have to be so overwrought? Throughout the show, the camera kept coming to her, and every time I was like ?Ugh, that hair.? I don?t know if she lightened it for a role or whatever, but she needs to figure out a better way to style it. Maybe bring in a team of hair professionals to figure this crap out.

| Amanda Seyfried in Marios Schwab at Critic's Choice: miserable or pretty' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
I have to giggle just a bit at poor Amanda Seyfried at last night’s Critic’s Choice awards because, just a few days ago, the actress confessed that her publicist often tells her what dresses to wear on the red carpet. Amanda also added that she usually hates these selections, and the situation usually escalates into a fight, which is followed by Amanda quickly backing down, bucking up, and wearing whatever it is that she is told to wear.
Such is the case with this blue-black Marios Schwab gown that ran with the overrated “see through” lace look on the top with a drapey, crepey shirt that looked like blue seaweed settling around Amanda’s legs. Amanda truly looks like she does not like this dress at all, and I would almost feel sorry for her except that she needs to stand up for herself and make her own decisions on red carpet attire. The cut of this dress is so weird, and the fabric doesn’t settle well around the bust area, but that could be because Amanda is slouching in an attempt to rebel against the sheer awfulness of the dress. Honestly, the only good thing about her outfit are the Roger Vivier black, strappy heels, which isn’t saying much. Amanda does, however, pull off the dramatic eye makeup and gorgeous bun (she has such a great face shape) quite well.
Leslie Mann looked like a Pepto Bismol nightmare on the red carpet last night. This carnation Pink dress by Honor had an offbeat, kicky silhouette with a fitted top over a bubble-shaped skirt, but Leslie doesn’t really have the pluckiness to pull this look off in any color, save for black. Her flat-ironed hair, while gorgeous enough on its own, seemed an odd choice for such a young-looking dress. This was definitely one of the worst looks of the evening.
Emmy Rossum looks amazing here. I actually like this midnight blue, star-themed dress! This is a Carolina Herrera gown, and even though I’m not usually much for hugely ornate, overly embellished details, this dress just looked like a dream on Emmy. The gown itself moved beautifully, and I love the star-printed overlay over the whole dress and the way the belt emphasized Emmy’s tiny waist. Her makeup looked a little bit waxy, but the hair was just romantic enough to be perfect.
Eva Longoria wore this Monique Lhuillier “hourglass” gown, and I have to say that this dress looks like raspberry-colored crepe paper glued over what would otherwise be an uneventful, shapeless flow of fabric. There’s something about the cut of the high-neck/collar area that bugs, but I can’t put my finger on it. I also think she Eva could have gone with a bolder lip color and played down the eye makeup just a bit.
Molly Sims did herself no favors with this drapey, tent-like dress at all. While I ordinarily would give her a break because she just gave birth early last summer, Molly has been pimping a bunch of workout videos from her fraud trainer, Tracy Anderson. So why did Molly choose to wear an ugly, unflattering tent on the red carpet? Her hair looks lovely, but the makeup is way too severe and clownlike.

| Mariah Carey's diet trick: she eats only purple foods, three days a week | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
Here’s a funny reminder that Mariah Carey isn’t just a diva when it comes to her job – she’s committed to being a diva in all aspects of her life, including her diet. Star Magazine (I know) reports that Mariah stays slim by eating only foods that are purple three days a week. (Do Nerds, Skittles and Laffy Taffy count? Nick and Mariah have an entire candy room in their house that’s set up like a store at the mall. I’m not kidding, Nick gave PopSugar a tour.)
Mariah Carey may love wearing the color pink, but she’s eating only purple! The diva has thrown herself into a new diet: three days a week, she eats purple foods like plums, grapes and eggplants – and is already loving the results. “They say a plum a day keeps the face-lifts away, and Mariah’s loving her sexy new shape,” and insider tells Star. Mariah herself admits that she needs to get creative with slimming down. “Since having the babies, I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.” Do purple skittles count?
[From Star Magazine, print edition, January 21, 2013]
Years ago I saw a nutritionist on Oprah explaining that purple foods have the most phytonutrients or something, and that when you shop you should strive to get colorful fruits and vegetables for that reason. It sounds like a quack way to diet, but if it works for Mariah that’s all that matters I guess. She’s probably getting enough nutrients and protein if she only eats that way three days a week.
Mariah is also a strong proponent of the Photoshop diet, as evidenced by this latest bikini photo she’s released to the press. We posted this yesterday, but let’s revisit it.

| Gwyneth Paltrow, peasanty imposter: 'I am not on a detox, I am not on a diet.' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
On New Year?s Eve, I finally got around to writing about Gwyneth Paltrow?s second foray into cookbook-writing. For the record, I do think Gwyneth ?writes? a great deal of her cookbooks, in that those are actually her personal stories, and maybe she makes some of that food for her kids. But Gwyneth doesn?t want you to know that she?s got a co-author (Julia Turshen) or that she has a team of ?co-chefs? who are working on the actual recipes. She doesn?t want you to concentrate on that stuff because those people are peasants, and you?re buying the cookbook because of GWYNETH!!
Anyway, I bring that up because many of us were disturbed when we found out what Goop?s second cookbook was going to be about, what the ?hook? was. That hook: Gwyneth had been diagnosed with anemia, a vitamin D deficiency, and high stress levels, and her ?doctor? recommended that she eliminate coffee, alcohol, sugar, eggs, wheat, meat and processed food to heal her body. For real. She?s vitamin-deficient from all of the ?cleanses? and crazy ?diets? and then she found some quack who told her to cut out meat, wheat and eggs to remedy her maladies. And then she wrote a cookbook about it, because Gwyneth wants to give us the gift of anemia and vitamin deficiency too.
But in Goop?s latest newsletter, she tells us that unlike her typical New Year?s cleanses and crash diets, Gwyneth began this new year by eating food. PEASANT!! IMPOSTER!! J’accuse!!
Happy 2013! I am not on a detox. I am not on a diet. I know, New Year?s cleansing and all that. Not this year. Can’t do it. Maybe later in the year. Maybe in the spring. So for now, I would like to continue with my pasta and cheese, but perhaps be more mindful of ingredients. I asked my friend Dr. Frank Lipman about his list of superfoods so that I could incorporate them into my diet a bit more. If you are going to eat pasta, why not serve it with a walnut pesto (walnuts are on his list)? You get my point. We had great fun in the goop test kitchen coming up with these ways to incorporate these miraculous foods into very tasty recipes. We hope you enjoy.
Love,
gp
[From Goop]
Gwyneth goes on to recommend some dishes that are heavy on the ?superfoods? which include ?avocados, beans, blueberries, cruciferous vegetables, spinach, walnuts, wild salmon, dairy-free chocolate (in moderation) and chia seeds.? What I can?t get over, however, is Gwyneth?s mindset. She really does have such a severe eating disorder and such a significantly warped body/health image that she feels genuine GUILT and PRESSURE because she didn?t do a cleanse for the new year. She?s? defensive about eating real food! And by the way, she?s implicitly promising to ?cleanse? in a few months. And Goop?s cleanses are pretty much anorexia with some fancy fruit juices.
Gwyenth also included a photo of her kids on holiday in St. Lucia:

| Beyonce: 'I?m more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I didn?t realize it yesterday when we were talking about Beyonce?s GQ cover that the pictorial is by Terry Richardson. So? of course. Of course it looks so trashy and p0rny. Because that?s Uncle Terry?s speciality. You know what I spend too much time thinking about? I think about whether these white-backgrounded, antiseptic, sleazy-p0rny Terry Richardson photo shoots really affect the way men think about sex and women on an aesthetic level. It just feels like the fast-food version of ?sexiness? ? no art, no mystery, no shadows, no nuance, just clinical, too-bright photos of scantily-clad girls looking sort of bored and vapid. Speaking of, you can read Beyonce?s GQ piece here. Some highlights:
Beyonc on her work ethic: ?I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: By the time I was 30 years old, I could do what I want. I?ve reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I?ve sacrificed a lot of things, and I?ve worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it.?
?on her upcoming Super Bowl performance: ?One of the reasons I connect to the Super Bowl is that I approach my shows like an athlete,? she says now. ?You know how they sit down and watch whoever they?re going to play and study themselves? That?s how I treat this. I watch my performances, and I wish I could just enjoy them, but I see the light that was late. I see, ?Oh God, that hair did not work.? Or ?I should never do that again.? I try to perfect myself. I want to grow, and I?m always eager for new information.?
?on her power: ?I now know that, yes, I am powerful. I?m more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand.?
?on her work: ?I love my job, but it?s more than that: I need it. Because before I gave birth, it was the only time in my life, all throughout my life, that I was lost.”
Solange Knowles on her sister’s pursuit of perfection: ?I have very, very early?on memories of her rehearsing on her own in her room. I specifically remember her taking a line out of a song or a routine and just doing it over and over and over again until it was perfect and it was strong. At age 10, when everybody else was ready to say, ?Okay, I?m tired, let?s take a break,? she wanted to continue?to ace it and overcome it.?
[From GQ]
The GQ piece is pretty short ? it?s only 2 pages, less than they would give to a male cover profile ? and I would recommend that you read the whole thing. There are even more gems in there, including Beyonce?s thoughts on encouraging women to be financially independent from men, and there?s a lot about ?The Beyonce Archive?. She has a working archive of everything she has ever done, said, written, sung, etc, and it?s all contained in a ?temperature-controlled digital-storage facility that contains virtually every existing photograph of her, starting with the very first frames taken of Destiny’s Child, the ’90s girl group she once fronted; every interview she’s ever done; every video of every show she’s ever performed; every diary entry she’s ever recorded while looking into the unblinking eye of her laptop.? It also includes, oddly enough, THOUSANDS of hours of footage from her full-time ?visual director? who has literally been following her around with a camera SINCE 2005. I seriously can?t even imagine living like that.
