Navigating her way through her agenda, Heidi Klum scurried around the streets of New York City this afternoon (April 9).
The German goddess also paid a visit to the Hammerstein Ballroom for some ?America?s Got Talent? duties with fellow judges Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, and Melanie Brown.
Klum recently revealed that she had an embarrassing experience while traveling the country during the show?s audition rounds, due to the improper laundering of one of her dresses.
?I got it back the next day, and it was damp, in a plastic bag. I smelled like cheese the whole day! Howard is like, ?What is that smell?? And, I?m like, ?It?s me! It?s the dress! It?s cheese!? It was awful.?

You know how I?ve been detailing Kim Kardashian?s weird habit of probably lying about her dress size and weight? Well, I?m starting to think that the answer is much simpler and less rage-inducing than ?Kim Kardashian loves to lie?. I think Kim just sucks at math. I think that when she?s confronted by numbers, her mind wanders to chintz peplums and leather jodhpurs and she completely spaces out. Think about it: wouldn?t that explain a lot about this mess? One week she?s insisting that she?s no more than 140 pounds, and then just nine days later, she?s telling TMZ that she?s totally 151 pounds because her baseline, pre-pregnancy size was a size 4, remember?
Well, as it turns out, Kim doesn?t just space out about numbers and math when it?s about her weight. She?s also been telling different people different things about her due date:
Could Kim Kardashian not be telling the truth about her due date? The pregnant reality star said on the ?Today? show in January that her and Kanye West?s bundle of joy is due in July, but sources tell us it?s actually earlier.
During a recent baby shower for fashion stylist Monica Rose at Bagatelle LA, Kim was overheard saying she?s due in mid-June. Could a delay announcing the birth give her a chance to enjoy private time with the newborn and lose some weight? Kim?s rep had no comment.

For whatever reason, I had it in my head that she was due in early July, and it?s perfectly possible that Kim heard Duchess Kate say that she wasn?t due until mid-July, and Kim decided to copy Kate (because they are seriously SO similar). It?s also possible that Kim is due late June/early July and that she?ll be overdue, because that?s very common in first pregnancies. It?s also possible that Kim will schedule a C-section for whenever it?s convenient to her too, so just keep that in mind.
Incidentally, according to the Kardashian reality show, Kim?s biggest fear is that she?s still going to be legally married to Kris Humphries when she gives birth. She says in the promo, “I’m scared with the divorce I’m probably going to have this baby being married to someone else.? Which will probably happen ? Kim and Kris?s divorce hearing/trial thing is set for early May, and I?m not sure that Kim will divorced by the time she gives birth even if the trial goes her way.

Here are some photos of Salma Hayek in Paris last night, walking the carpet for ‘The enchanted world of Jacques Demy’, an exhibition opening at the Cinematheque Francaise. I can?t find the designer ID on her suit or blouse, but I?m sure the ensemble comes from one of the collections her husband owns. I think the suit would have been much better with a cleaner, more tailored blouse, or at least a blouse that didn?t look so fug and dated.
Salma was recently in London to promote that Chime for Change event which we discussed in the John Legend post less than two weeks ago. Salma and John did some events and press for the event, and Salma ended up giving an interview to The Guardian. So, this is kind of old but I haven?t seen it get any play on other blogs, so it should be new to you! You can read Salma?s full Guardian piece here, and here are the highlights I wanted to discuss:
Her childhood: ?I was privileged to grow up in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico with my parents [Diana, an opera singer, and Sami, an oil company executive] and my younger brother, Sami. It was a close community, we lived near the ocean and we would be outside all the time with the neighbours’ kids, running free, playing football on the streets and at the beach. What better place could there be for a child??
Her mom was a philanthropist: ?My mother was devoted to helping people ? with my father’s money! ? who had great voices but didn’t have the financial means to study music. He and my mum gave away dozens of music scholarships, and my mum opened a school in town, introduced opera to children and created fantastic programmes. With my father’s help she brought in teachers from Mexico City. They would train anybody who had a good voice, and several of her students are now working as professional singers.?
On women?s rights: ?I have always been inspired by my parents to carry on helping people ? mainly in fighting for justice for women around the world, which is the focus of Chime for Change [a global campaign to raise funds and awareness for girls and women's empowerment]. We are concerned about all women’s issues relating to justice, education and health. If you look at any other group of people suffering injustice, women are always in the worst situation within that group. And the problem is growing. For example, human trafficking in America is a booming business. There is still so much domestic violence and a general lack of laws to protect women. We have to make sure women around the world are respected and valued.?
She likes being a mom: ?I like being a mother. For some people it’s so much work that it can be a burden. But it’s not for me, maybe because I had my daughter, Valentina, later on in life, at 41. I have never been apart from Valentina for more than a week ? even when my husband, Franois-Henri Pinault, and I went on our honeymoon, we were only without her for one week.?
She loves being a wife & homemaker: ?I love being a wife and homemaker ? because it’s my choice. My friends who don’t have children say it’s impossible to get together with me because I don’t want to talk about anything else except motherhood. But being a mother is more exhausting than working, and sometimes I push myself too hard and burn myself out. I can appreciate how exhausting it must be for women who have to do everything themselves all the time. I don’t have to work now, but I have to work because it’s not about money, it’s about passion. It is part of my personal evolution.?

I can understand when a middle-class woman describes herself as a ?homemaker? ? my mom was a homemaker when I was really young, and it IS an important job, raising children and running a home and all of that. But I don?t understand how Salma considers herself a homemaker when she is married to one of the wealthiest men in the world, she has a fleet of staffers eager to jump to her every whim, plus she probably has nannies, maids, etc. Plus, she?s still acting (in crap like The Grown-Ups 2, no joke), and she?s promoting her recently launched skincare line. So how in the world is she a ?homemaker??

First of all, The NY Daily News has a copy of the handwritten note that Madonna sent to the new President of Malawi, Joyce Banda, and it’s hilarious! It’s full of exclamation points, run-on sentences and misspellings. Go over to the NY Daily News to check it out and come back here. That’s a note you send to a friend, not a head of state. Plus I’m sure they do things differently when it comes to correspondence in Africa. We’re really informal in America. Madonna lived in England for years, she should realize that she needs to send a type-written, proofread note to a new President.
Madonna was requesting a personal meeting with the new President prior to her weeklong tour of the country. Madonna of course adopted two children, both now 8, from Malawi, skirting longstanding adoption laws to do so. She’s also had several charity projects in Malawi that have been mired in controversy, most notably a $15 million dollar school, plans for which were scrapped in 2011. The NY Times ran a piece a couple of months later detailing the millions of dollars that went missing in that charity, spent on “outlandish expenditures on salaries, cars, office space and a golf course membership, free housing and a car and driver for the school?s director.” And of course Madonna’s cult, Kabbalah, was involved and was going to influence the school’s curriculum. So there’s much more going on here than Madonna offending the President with a dumb, handwritten note. This is Madonna trying to do damage control and tout the charity work that her foundation eventually did in Malawi, by funding some community schools. Still, the note is funny. Here’s more, thanks to Radar:
The Material Girl sent a muddled letter to President Joyce Banda of Malawi last week to coincide with her latest goodwill trip to her country. But the impact of her words was diluted by a multitude of misspellings and led to her being refused a meeting, according to the New York Daily News.
Madonna, 54, addressed President Banda with the informal greeting ?Dear Joyce? in the hand-written note, in which she congratulated the most powerful woman in Africa on the ?new position? as the nation?s first female leader.
The pop star, who traveled to Malawi to check in on 10 school projects her charity built, proved she was in need of some serious schooling herself as she made a slew of errors in her note, including writing ?responsability? instead of ?responsibility.?
She even asked for a face-to-face with the president but her rambling and casual tone instead offended the president! The president told the pop star that she was too busy and instead delegated the meeting to officials from the education ministry, according to a report in the Nyasa Times.
And if the scribbled note wasn?t bad enough, the outreach itself may have been enough to upset the President. The President?s sister was previously fired from her role at Madonna?s Raising Malawi charity after accusations surfaced that she stole money.
Madonna is the country?s biggest global philanthropist, but as The Telegraph reported, her Raising Malawi program sparked criticism from the education minister over the schools that are financed by the charity.
Minister Eunice Kazembe denied that Madonna?s charity had built 10 new schools, saying that they had in fact ?built 10 classroom blocks.? However, her philanthropy team claims that the schools are built to the national standard and house thousands of kids in classrooms instead of under trees.
?We have called President Banda, we have sent letters to President Banda but we have not heard back,? said Trevor Neilsen.?It?s pretty clear what?s going on here ? the president?s sister now works in the education ministry and has an active grudge against Madonna.”

In regard to the allegations that the President’s sister stole from Madonna’s charity – the head of Raising Malawi stole a bunch of money in 2009 (allegedly) before resigning and running off with Madonna’s then-trainer, Tracy Anderson. (Who is a known fraud. Madonna fired Tracy as her trainer, then Tracy and that guy broke up.) So all this business about the President of Malawi’s sister being fired for embezzling money from the charity may be a smokescreen – or she may have been one of many people lining their pockets with money from that charity, from the top-down.

This was the reason Elsa and Chris were in New York, as it turns out. They were the biggest stars at this event, which was held at Christie?s. Oh, I found the website:

As for the photos? Chris brought along his brother Luke Hemsworth and Luke?s wife Samantha. Elsa wore a Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2013 dress which is actually pretty cute. Chris?s suit is Calvin Klein. They look nice! I?m just relieved that it?s not another candid photo-op, though. I was getting really tired of seeing Chris in sunglasses. But the bad thing about these photos is that you can?t really see his guns. But I?m sure most of you could draw them from memory anyway.

Chris Hemsworth has been quite generous to his fans lately by doing several public appearances while holding his baby girl, India Rose, and showing off those amazing triceps of his in short t-shirts. Just last week, he did the same while grocery shopping in Venice with wife Elsa Pataky, and now they’re in New York City as shown in these photos from yesterday. Sadly, little India Rose is nowhere to be seen, but maybe she’s back at the hotel. In her place in these photos is Chris’ brother — not Liam, the other one — Luke, who has acted on an Australian soap opera for over a decade and is looking to take Hollywood by storm just like his brothers. We’ll see.
These photos are noteworthy for a few reasons. First off, look at how cute Elsa is. She’s been hiding her figure in drapey tops, but she looks fantastic here in a snug, long-sleeve tee with leather pants. I don’t really see the point of a yellow bra shining through, but she looks excellent overall, and it’s nice that she and Chris are getting some couple time. They look like a very close pair, and Chris seems totally into Elsa. She certainly has a bewitching way with men, but I think she’s very much into her husband as well. I’m still surprised that nobody ever mentions her new post-baby haircut. I wonder if she was experiencing the typical new-mother hair loss and decided to dispense with waiting for it to fall out in favor of taking matters into her own (stylist’s) hands. Whatever the case, she seems so effortlessly stylish.
Earlier in the day, Elsa was spotted shopping by herself and sprinting across a street while wearing very high-heeled “smurf” boots. How does she do that? I’d be totally down for the count.

I don?t hate what she?s wearing here at all, and I?m kind of enchanted by her purse/carry-on. I have a thing for white purses. That?s a really cool one. I kind of hope that she?s going back to London and she?ll take it easy for a little while (as in, no interviews) until the promotional tour for Iron Man 3 heats up. Because Goop over-saturated everything while shilling her cookbook and the backlash has been relentless.
The newest thing is that food writers and journalists are pointing out that Gwyneth?s recipes are incredibly expensive. The NY Times? article about it was called ?Healthy Eating on Just $300 a Day?. One site notes that It?s All Good is ?drenched in a chatty faux-populism that could only come from a rich person fearlessly boasting about her life of privilege. Paltrow casually writes that she has a surfeit of apples from the trees on her $5.4 million five-bedroom Hamptons summer home.? She apparently advises the peasants to make a duck-egg-white omelet? which costs $30. Her fish fingers recipe costs $71.50, and her tuna salad costs $120 to make. OH GOOP!!! This is Gwyneth?s attempt at aspirational cooking for peasants ? they cannot afford to make her elite food, but they can afford to look at the photos of Goop enjoying the food.
Meanwhile, there are some more excerpts from Gwyneth?s interview with Stylist Magazine and OMG did you know that she lives in London and people in London are way more stylish and London London London?!! She also has some interesting things to say about being a natural blonde (side-eye) and how everybody is just waiting for blondes to fail. Ha.
Gwyneth Paltrow says an on-trend make-up look in London is currently a “cool, slightly undone” dark eye. The Oscar-winning actress is the creative inspiration for beauty brand Max Factor’s new campaigns. The celebrity blogger shared her beauty essentials and tips for creating a hot and on-trend make-up look.
“I love that cool, slightly undone look you get with a dark, smudgy eye,” Gwyneth told Stylist magazine. “You see that a lot in London, there’s a really cool vibe here at the moment where the look is glam, but a little edgier.”
The star said the key to getting your make-up spot on is to focus on a few signature looks. In her new Max Factor campaign, she worked with make-up artist Pat McGrath to create a modern businesswoman look for the shoot.
“I’m a big fan of a simple red lip teamed with fresh skin, like the businesswoman look in the campaign,” she continued. “I think it’s a strong statement and a really good look for me personally. I change things up on a night out by wearing a smokey eye.”
Gwyneth finished by dispelling the myth that blondes have more fun. The naturally fair actress says in fact being golden haired can be a hindrance to your enjoyment rather than help.
“I don’t understand the whole idea of blondes having more fun. I’d say brunettes have more fun as they can go under the radar a little bit more,” she laughed. “People are just waiting for blondes to get drunk and fall down, because we’re so visible.”

As CB reported last Friday, Halle Berry is pregnant with her second child at the age of 46. The father is Halle?s French fianc of some-odd two years (it feels like longer, right?), Olivier Martinez, who last made headlines for beating the crap out of Gabriel Aubry last Thanksgiving. Following Friday?s announcement/confirmation, Halle stepped out in NYC over the weekend, making an appearance at a UN event with Michael Kors. It seems that Halle and Michael are working together on a new initiative for the United Nations World Food Program, which is why Halle has given a new interview to CNN:
Halle Berry is just as shocked as everyone else, apparently, about her big baby news. In her first interview since confirming her second pregnancy at age 46, the Oscar-winning actress told CNN’s Alina Cho, “I feel fantastic!”
The baby-to-be is her second child (joining big sister Nahla, 5), and her first with fiance Olivier Martinez. Berry confided in Cho that the pregnancy caught her unawares. “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”
Berry demurred when Cho asked if she’s expecting a boy, as sources have revealed to Us Weekly, TMZ and other outlets. “I don’t know, I don’t know. But [the baby is] healthy!”
At Berry’s side for the CNN chat with fashion designer and Project Runway judge Michael Kors, who both work with the United Nations World Food Program to fight hunger. (Berry was the guest of honor at the Four Seasons in NYC on Saturday for her work with the program.)
Berry explained that her pregnancy reminded her that many expectant women across the world struggle to feed themselves and their unborn children. “Especially now, being a pregnant woman and already having a child … it’s so important what happens to the baby while they’re in utero. And the first 1,000 days is fundamental,” said Berry, revealing her baby bump in sexy black dress by Kors. “Good nutrition during that time period is fundamental for your baby to develop properly and normally,” she added.
“I’m a mom, and that’s first and foremost, but it gives me another reason to exist, another purpose,” she said of her work with the charity. “And if I know that I’m helping one person every day in some way, that really makes me feel good, and that’s a legacy that I can leave to my children.”
The interview airs on CNN on Tuesday, April 8 at 12pm EST.

I?m including the video below ? I?m a little bit confused when Halle says that this pregnancy was a ?the biggest surprise?. Even Alina Cho threw some momentary shade with a quick ?Really?? So I guess this means that Halle didn?t undergo fertility treatments? Or is she just playing coy, like: ?I did the fertility treatments but I was totally surprised that they worked!?? I think Halle is really saying that this pregnancy happened naturally. I mean, it happens. It?s not outside of the realm of possibilities or probabilities. Hm… don?t mind me, I?ll just quietly sit here giving Halle a side-eye though.
(PS? Now I know why Halle?s boobs looked so amazing in Hawaii, right? Pregnancy boobs.)

As I was glancing through these LeAnn Rimes-Brandi Glanville stories, I felt a momentary rush of joy that these two women exist. I know I should be above it (we all should be above it), but I enjoy this unending drama and all of the petty feuding. The LeAnn-Brandi stories have something for everyone: drama, lies, infidelity, bolt-ons, Botox, famewhoring, STDs, vadge rejuvs, bikinis, dimples, children, and barely any careers of note. This ongoing debacle is a self-sustaining ecosystem of gossip. I love it. I appreciate it. It makes my job easier.
Anyway, LeAnn gave an interview to ?Fabulous Magazine? and here are some excerpts. They are unfortunate, of course.
Did you make an effort to gain weight after people seemed so concerned in 2011?
I never tried to lose weight and I never tried to gain it. It depends on how stressed I am. I was eating a ton and couldn?t put on weight!
Were Eddie or your family ever concerned?
No. But being from the South, my mom and godmother are always happier when I have a little meat on my bones.
Are you happy with how you look?
I?m secure with my body. Trust me, there are moments when I?ve stood in the mirror and gone: ?Oh my God, I?m getting cellulite!? but then I stand in a different light and I?m like: ?Oh, it?s not so bad now.? I have my moments, like every woman.
You?ve recently become a stepmother to Jake, five, and Mason, nine. What?s that been like?
They have been very accepting. It?s taken a while to feel like it?s not just Eddie and the two boys and then me. But I do feel that?s happening, and the love that I have for them is tremendous.
What do they call you?
Lee. Sometimes they?ll blurt out: ?Mom!?, but I just go with whatever they call me. As long as it?s nice and respectful, I couldn?t care less.
Do you and Eddie want to have your own kids?
Absolutely. There?s still a lot of adjustments to make. It could be five months from now or in two years.
Eddie?s ex-wife, Brandi, has been pretty vocal about her feelings for you. What?s your relationship like now?
That?s where you write ?insert face reaction here?.
Eek? That doesn?t sound good.
It?s been really difficult. You have to stand up for yourself and be your own person, but at the same time you have to protect these children and their hearts. And that?s a very tough balance.
Do you have any regrets?
I don?t like that word. Do I wish I handled it differently? Absolutely. No one wants to hurt anyone or put themselves through hurt. I think the only other thing we could?ve done would have been to get out of our marriages before anything happened. It was tough, and it all happened very fast. I felt so ashamed and guilty.

I took out some of the stuff from the Radar article about how LeAnn was just begging to start another war with Brandi, because Brandi has already sort of responded and she didn?t sound too pissed. Brandi tweeted: ?I am not in a war with ANYONE (maybe the tax man). As I promised I refuse to engage. Peace Love and Happiness people.?
So, do you think LeAnn was making pointed comments about Mason and Jake calling her ?mom? accidentally? I?m sure LeAnn said that on purpose, to try to get under Brandi?s skin, but I also kind of think? yeah, it happens. I could see how those two boys would accidentally call LeAnn ?mom? and it?s no big deal. I?m sure LeAnn threw a parade about it, but I doubt it means much.

Ending the speculation once and for all, Selena Gomez denied that her song "Come and Get It" is about Justin Bieber.
On Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Monday (April 8), the "Spring Breakers" star was asked about the tune's lyrics, "I love you much, too much to hide you, this love ain?t finished yet."
Seemingly aware of the rampant rumors, the 20-year-old actress/singer replied, "Honestly, actually, to be 100 percent real, it?s not really about a specific person."
As for why she really released the song, Ms. Gomez explains, "The reason why I wanted this to be the first single was because it exudes, like I said earlier, confidence and strength, and that is something I?m willing to share with the world. That?s the place I want to be in, and I want to represent something good and be a good example, so I think it?s fun."
After putting that rumor to rest, the "American Idol" host then asked how many guys have asked Selena out since the break-up. Perhaps hoping to score a date, she shared, "None. I'm available."
