She?s always been easy on the eyes, and Keri Russell looked gorgeous at the big Hollywood premiere of her new movie ?Austenland? on Thursday evening (August 8).
The ?Felicity? starlet made her way to the ArcLight Hollywood Cinemas and posed for the paparazzi in a stylish black getup before heading inside for the screening.
Keri told press that while ?Austenland? was a blast to make, she definitely had some issues getting used to her wardrobe, especially given her pregnancy at the time.
"The corsets were pretty intense, especially when you're pregnant, but mine had expandable sides for every day my belly was growing. But there were a lot of angry ladies by the afternoon wanting more snacks. Lots of bonnets, lots of ribbons, lots of the costume people fixing stuff all the time."

I have an awkward confession. I try to be all jaded and cynical, but really? I love Richard Curtis, who is like the king of sweet romantic comedies. He wrote the screenplays for Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and he wrote and directed Love Actually, Pirate Radio and this new Rachel McAdams film, About Time. These are photos from the premiere of About Time, which stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel and Bill Nighy. If you haven?t seen the trailer for About Time yet? it looks very sweet. Very romantic and lovely, but completely cheeseball. So I?ll probably see it, of course. But I won?t tell anyone. Here?s the trailer:
Anyway? Rachel wore this outfit (these are separates, if you can believe that) by Roksanda Ilincic. When I first saw these pics yesterday, I was like, ?Ugh, why is she dressed as a futuristic priestess?? But I don?t really hate it. Mostly I want to fix the sleeves and make the tailoring better overall. As for Rachel?s red hair? she dyed it a few months ago, finally ridding herself of that terrible bleach-blonde look she had while dating Michael Sheen. I like her as a redhead, but I still think the color is off. She needs a better colorist overall.
At the premiere, Rachel talked about how much she loved working in England, saying: ?I love working in British cinema, it is simply delightful because everybody is so much fun and people are always making jokes on set. But it was quite challenging to work on a British film because the rhythm of humor is different to movies elsewhere.?

I haven’t written about a Scientology story in months, so I’m a bit out of practice with this topic. As we’re all quite aware by now, Leah Remini blew out of the CO$ last month, and Kirstie Alley jumped all over her, and it was a huge mess, but we’re all happy for and proud of Leah. In the meantime, questions of Shelly Miscavige’s (wife of David, who runs the entire cult but is referred to only as “COB” or “Chairman of the Board”) whereabouts are still circling because no one has seen the poor woman for years. And part of Leah’s explanation for leaving is that she asked where her friend Shelly was, and she was told to step off because she didn’t “have rank” to ask such silly questions.
All throughout the waxing and waning of interest in the cult, David Ortega has been on the front lines. Last month, he received word that Shelly has been detained at a CO$ internment camp since approximately 2005, and she’s under constant supervision and has only left the premises once for a family funeral. Ortega doesn’t mention why Shelly was sent there (I suspect that either she said something to question CO$ methods or Miscavige was simply tired of having a wife), but he says Shelly “has been conditioned to believe that she is at fault for her confinement, and that her job of working to preserve the works of L. Ron Hubbard is a worthwhile goal.” Poor Shelly is probably scrubbing tiles with a toothbrush while being forced to watch videos of her husband and Tom Cruise embracing at the “Medal of Valor” on a loop. That’s no exaggeration either.
Well, sh-t almost got real yesterday because Leah Remini filed a missing persons report on Shelly with the LAPD:
Leah Remini has taken a surprising new step, the Underground Bunker has learned.
After speaking with the Los Angeles Police Department, we have confirmed that on Wednesday Remini filed a missing-person report for Scientology leader David Miscavige?s wife, Shelly Miscavige, who has not been seen in public in six years.
As we reported when we broke the news July 8 of Remini?s departure from Scientology, one of the main reasons she began to question her involvement in the church was discovering at the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in November 2006 that Miscavige was there without his wife, who had disappeared without explanation. When Leah asked about it, then church spokesman Tommy Davis told her, “You don’t have the f—ing rank to ask about Shelly.”
In other stories, we have explained that in late 2005 or early 2006, Shelly was transferred from Scientology?s International Base near Hemet, California to a secret compound near Lake Arrowhead in the mountains above Los Angeles. This compound, the headquarters of the Church of Spiritual Technology, is home to only a dozen or so Scientologists who are completely cut off from the outside world. We?ve been told that Shelly has been there for the past six years. But Miscavige and his attorneys have so far refused to publicly confirm her location there, and they have not produced her to confirm that she is in good health.
Now, Remini has put enormous pressure on the church to do just that by involving the LAPD.
Their job won?t be easy. Remini filed the report in Los Angeles, where Scientology’s international administrative headquarters are downtown, as well as many other church facilities. Before she vanished, however, Shelly Miscavige was living and working at the church?s international management headquarters on a 500-acre compound near Hemet, California, which is in Riverside County. The CST compound, where we believe Shelly is being held today, is near Lake Arrowhead in San Bernardino County. This jurisdictional jigsaw puzzle is complicated by the church?s relationship with law enforcement agencies, which includes a cozy friendship with Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, as well as a history of support from the Riverside County board of supervisors.
But Leah Remini’s involvement may prove a major shift in that calculus. We had previously been told that Remini had considered Shelly a friend, and we now have photographic evidence of it, obtained from our sources in the church … the two were photographed at the Hollywood Celebrity Centre gala, circa 2005.

Ortega has published a rather blurry photo of Leah and Shelly hanging together at the Celebrity Centre, but it’s obvious that these two were more than mere acquaintences — they were friends. And when a friend disappears or even innocently fails to appear at a major wedding (the TomKat one in Italy), it’s only human nature to inquire about the friend’s whereabouts.
Unfortunately, the LAPD has ducked out of this game and not for (as Ortega worried would happen) jurisdictional reasons. Instead, E! Online has received word that the missing person report has been dismissed:
“The LAPD has classified the report as unfounded, indicating that Shelly is not missing,” said Detective Gus Villanueva. He said that he didn’t know exactly where or when, but detectives did meet with the Miscaviges as part of their investigation and saw Shelly in person.
A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology had called Remini’s police report “just harassment.” “It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet,” the rep said. “The Church and the attorney for Mrs. Miscavige have already responded to this ludicrous claim.”

Emma Roberts hit upDominique Ansel Bakery, home of the cronut, in New York the other day and tried to use her “celebrity” to skip the line. It didn’t work.
Upon seeing a queue of hungry customers winding around the block, the 22-year-old and her publicist allegedly attempted to skip to the front, but were sent to the back of the line by the doorman.
Emma apparently then slunk back to the end of the queue but gave up on waiting after several minutes.
Good. They should have thrown their cronuts at her stupid head too. Slink away in shame, Emma Roberts. Booo! Hiss! Grumble, grumble.

Kicking off the weekend a little early, Miley Cyrus showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of ?Paranoia? to support her fianc Liam Hemsworth last night (August 8).
The ?Party in the USA? songstress had a blast posing with her main man outside the DGA Theatre, putting to rest the continual breakup rumors.
And of course, Cyrus got all gussied up in some designer duds, including a Proenza Schouler dress and Celine heels.
?Paranoia? also stars Harrison Ford, Amber Heard, and Gary Oldman, and it hits theaters next Friday, August 16th.

Here are some photos of Amber Heard outside the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” studios on Wednesday, and I am totally feeling her outfit. Amber’s wearing a Michael Kors dress that looks like separates (that low-cut black top and high thigh split really flatter her figure), but it’s really all one piece and belted at the waist. Amber was on hand to promote Paranoia, which is coming up faster that I expected with an August 16 release date. Have you seen the movie’s trailer yet? I’d caution against watching it if you don’t like spoilers because it feels like the entire movie has been condensed into just over two minutes. Spoiling might be a blessing in disguise because it looks like a typical corporate intrigue movie. While there are a lot of high-profile actors involved like Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, and Richard Dreyfuss, there is no mistaking the studio’s intention to market the film as a Liam Hemsworth star vehicle. Yawn.
At any rate, Amber looked gorge during this appearance, but there’s something different about her that I can’t put my finger on… new teeth? Weird spray tan? Bad eye makeup? I don’t know.
Amber brought her parents (but not boyfriend Johnny Depp) along for the Kimmel interview, and she talked about her Texan father’s smooth move when seeing her off to Los Angeles at age 17: “[He] took out a pearl-handled .38 special and handed it to me and said, ‘Hey baby girl, I got you a pretty one. It don’t got a hammer. So you just pull it right out of your purse!’” Amber has previously discussed her pro-gun stance; she owns “several” of them including a .357 Magnum and has claimed, “I’m a good shot.”
This week’s issue of the Enquirer has an amusing addendum to Johnny’s post-Lone Ranger temper tantrum where he alternately blamed the critics and threatened to retire from acting. Apparently, he now really wants to move to his little Caribbean island and become “a hermit.” Good luck with that, Johnny.

Miley Cyrus is featured in two silly stories in this week’s tabloids. The first tale holds that Miley’s pot smoking is endangering her life because of lifelong tachycardia (elevated heartrate). The second story talks about how Miley has pushed her parents into marriage counseling. Both stories are lame, so let’s skip ahead to the main fare, shall we?
Miley has scored her own massive photospread in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar (the one with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover), and I would be willing to bet that Miley was dying to get that cover, but Bazaar just couldn’t force themselves to go that downmarket … especially for a September issue. Of course, one might think that I’m insulting Miley by calling her “downmarket,” but that’s the image she’s intentionally projecting as of this year. As such, I can imagine that Bazaar wasn’t entirely thinking “cover girl” after Miley whipped out multiple grills (from her Louis Vuitton bag, no less) during her recent video interview with their series, The Look.
The thing is, Miley so badly wants to be a fashion girl as evidenced by her pose-harding while obnoxiously surrounded by Chanel bags and declaring her allegiance to the Olsen Twins. And she possibly could have pulled off this shoot, but given Miley’s level of self-promotion, she unavoidably ends up making these clothes look tacky. (Miley was photographed by Terry Richardson because, sadly, he shoots everything these days.) The first photo on the motorbike looks uncomfortable and ridiculous while this one below looks like it belongs in a bad R. Kelly video.
Although I must admit that there are a few shots out of the whole bunch that are lovely. This one with the gate and the one on the stairs are my favorites. The rest of them? As usual, Miley is trying wayyy too hard.

This Star Mag story was written before LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian?s VH1 reality show was confirmed. But the story is basically saying that the show is a go, and that ?actors? are going to play Brandi Glanville and Mason and Jake Cibrian. Which is interesting. In Deadline?s exclusive about the reality series, sources confirm that the show will be about how LeAnn & Eddie ?navigate their careers while also co-parenting Eddie?s two sons. It also promises for the duo to poke fun at what it?s like to be a high-profile couple with more than a little misinformation out there about them.? So will the show feature the real Mason and Jake or what?
LeAnn Rimes is looking to muscle in on archenemy Brandi Glanville?s territory, with a TV show of her own! A source reveals that LeAnn is keen on creating a scripted series based on her life with hubby Eddie Cibrian that would skewer Brandi. ?Actors would play LeAnn, Eddie, the kids and Brandi,? explains the insider, noting that LeAnn is in ?total meltdown? over the abysmal failure of her latest album, Spitfire, and blames Brandi entirely.
?LeAnn holds Brandi directly responsible for the album tanking because of all the bad publicity from their constant Twitter fights,? details the tipster. Brandi hasn?t minced words when it came to LeAnn?s album, sniping ?These are the worst songs I?ve ever heard? ? and it seems listeners agree: Spitfire sold a measly 10,798 copies in its first week.
But that?s not the only thorn in LeAnn?s side, admits the source: ?To make matters worse, Brandi is flying high ? her first book is a best-seller, and she?s already writing a second one!?

Sure. I believe all of this (except for actors playing LeAnn and Eddie because that would just be dumb). I think they?re really going to try to ?cast? an actress to play ?the horrible ex-wife who destroys the glorious Bonus Mother?s life by merely existing.? And it wouldn?t surprise me to learn that LeAnn blamed Brandi for the failure of Spitfire too. While I think Brandi played a small role in the failure of Spitfire (Brandi was giving interviews about it!), somebody needs to tell LeAnn that her publicity tour was just awful and no one really needed to hear ?her side? of things because we?ve already heard her side for years.
LeAnn and Eddie released a statement to Deadline too, saying: ?We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or better yet who we?re really not. We?re thrilled to partner with VH1 and The Gurneys to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music.? Love, humor and music? Crap. LeAnn is going to be yodeling the whole time, you know it. It?s going to like her dumb Vine videos stretched into 24 minutes of dumb programming. And LeAnn had to chime in again on Twitter too, writing: ?That’s a record! It was only 2 seconds before it got twisted LOL EXACTLY why we are doing the show. Good times to be had! Can’t wait!?

I don?t know what has gotten into CB lately. Usually she guards Matt Damon stories as if her life depended on it. She?s a big Damon-loonie, so much so that I rarely write about him at all. But things are starting to change around here? she?s actually sending me Matty D leads now. I wonder what?s going on? What if CB wants to (GASP) cover Michael Fassbender?! I would die. Literally, as Joe Biden would say.
Anyway, CB sent me this lead and I guess she wanted me to cover it because it?s Matty D being political. Matty talked about politics a bit in his Guardian interview too, except no one paid attention to those quotes because of the public/private school debate. So, to promote Elysium, Matty D did an interview with BET and he got some questions about Pres. Obama?s second term and about Trayvon Martin. I transcribed his answers, but just note that I edited out a lot of his ?you knows? and ?likes?. I want to make excuses for him, like he hadn?t prepared answers to political questions so that?s why his answers seemed a bit scattered, but really, I expect Matty D to be able to speak off-the-cuff about politics in a much more qualitative way than this:
How do you feel Pres. Obama is doing in his second term?
Matty D: ?He broke up with me. There are a lot of things that I really question, you know? The legality of the drone strikes, these NSA revelations are, you know, like? Jimmy Carter came out and said ?we don?t live in a democracy?. That?s a little intense when an ex-president says that. So, he?s got a lot of explaining to do, especially for a constitutional law professor.?
Thoughts on the Trayvon Martin case:
?The Stand Your Ground law, I would hope that they will revisit that. I lived in Florida for five years, we can?t have a world in which people are putting guns in their pockets and looking around for? thinking that they?re the neighborhood watch. We have a police force for that. We should leave the novices at home.?

Honestly, I don?t have a problem with his Trayvon answer ? he didn?t get into the nitty-gritty of the situation, he was soundbyte-y and that?s fine. He?s promoting a movie, not leading a national discussion on race. But I was bothered a bit by his answer about Obama?s second term. I?m a political liberal too, but don?t come at me with ?drone strikes? and ?NSA wiretaps? as the reasons to not support Obama.

Surprise, surprise. For last night?s LA premiere of Paranoia, the lead of the film, Liam Hemsworth, actually walked the red carpet with his fiance Miley Cyrus. Isn?t that interesting? Miley and Liam?s engagement seemed off-and-on for months now. Actually, it seemed like Miley was sort of clinging to Liam while he gallivanted and fooled around with other chicks (like January Jones?). But they?re still together. And they want you to know that. I?m trying to read Miley?s face? is that a look of triumph? I don?t think it is. I think that?s the look that Kelly Preston gets on her face when she?s doing an appearance with John Travolta. Like, ?Our relationship isn?t really like this, but let?s put on a show.?
Miley?s dress is Proenza Schouler Spring 2013. I hate it. I hate her shoe choice. I hate the leather. I hate the colors. I hate her hair. I hate her makeup. And I actually sort-of like Miley (at least I?m willing to give her a pass on some stuff). But this is a style failure from top to bottom.
Also on the carpet was ?controversial? Amber Heard, girlfriend of Johnny Depp. No, Depp did not walk the carpet with his girlfriend. He didn?t come near her premiere at all. Amber used to have great style, but this Vionnet gown is rather? blah. Not all that flattering. I like her darker hair, but the style is kind of messy. Her makeup looks good though.

A few nights ago, Lindsay Lohan was a no-show at the latest premiere of The Canyons. I don?t know if she was supposed to attend the premiere or if producers knew ahead of time that she wasn?t coming. Some people even went out of their way to make excuses for the Cracken, claiming that Lindsay wouldn?t want to go to an event with an open bar at the after-party, because she?s all about sobriety and non-crackiness these days. To those people I say ?O RLY?!? Because here?s what Lindsay has really been up to? Unleash the Craken!!
Lindsay Lohan is back partying again just over a week after leaving rehab. The actress partied all night with the Wanted?s Max George in Los Angeles before being helped out of the bash by security at 7 a.m. yesterday.
Sources exclusively tell Page Six that Lohan, who left rehab after 90 days on July 31, joined the British pop bad boy and his band at the all-night rager which started late Wednesday at the Mondrian West Hollywood.
One source said: ?The party went on all night long and was so loud that guests were complaining. Lindsay was there with Max George. The Wanted have been staying at the Mondrian for days, and Lindsay, who briefly dated Max a while back, was partying with the band. She and her sister Ali were spotted waiting in the hotel lobby for the band.
?There were so many complaints about the noise that hotel staff had to shut the party down and Lindsay had to be taken out of there by security at 7 a.m. She was with her sister, and people who saw Lindsay when she left the hotel said she looked a total mess. She looked so beat up.?
A rep for Lohan told us last night of that account, ?I highly doubt this is true.?
The troubled actress, who?s reportedly gone into rehab at least six times in as many years, has insisted that she?s remained sober since her latest stint in treatment.
A source close to the star said, ?She is friends with Max and did visit him, but everything else is untrue. She did not drink, she was in bed by midnight, and she showed up on time for therapy this (Thursday) morning. She has a sober coach.?
A Lohan representative said, ?Although Lindsay did visit her good friend Max, this is otherwise a completely false story.?
George seems to be bad news for Lohan. The couple enjoyed a brief dalliance in 2012, which ended in trouble when she got into a fracas with a fortune teller at a Manhattan nightclub while out with George. When asked by Andy Cohen in June who his showbiz crush was, George said, ?I?m gonna say Lindsay Lohan.?
Asked if the crush had been ?fully realized,? he said, ?No, a little bit. If she?s watching from rehab, then it?ll cheer her up a little bit.?

Lindsay was in NYC earlier this week, but I guess she flew back to LA to party with The Wanted rather than attend her own premiere. Sounds like the kind of decision Lindsay Lohan would make. As for the back and forth with LL?s rep about exactly what went down? Lindsay visited Max George. But she didn?t drink. She was in bed by midnight!! SHE HAS A SOBER COACH. She?s in court-mandated therapy!! Sure. Of course. Ten bucks says that she was doing lines off of Max George?s body at about 4 am Thursday morning.

While promotingThe Butler, Mariah Carey talked about one scene in particular where a white woman spits on a black college student. Coming from a biracial family, she says that exact thing happened to her as a child.
Speaking to Yahoo! Movies, she said, “That actually happened to me.” She added: “I know people would be in shock and not really want to believe or accept that, but it did. That right there that was almost the deepest thing to me in the movie because I know what she went through – and it happened to be a bus as well. It was a school bus, in the face and in the same way.”
That incident probably provided the motivation she needed to become the person she is today. And that she finally found the person that spat in her face and kicked them in the balls. Mariah seems like the type that can really hold a grudge.

The danger with 'husband hunting' is you start to see every date as a job interview ('He does seem to be homosexual, but that might be good for fatherhood!'); it clouds your ability to get to know someone".
