Proving that ?the show must go on,? Pierce Brosnan resumed his duties on the set of ?November Man? yesterday afternoon (July 2).
The ?Mrs. Doubtfire? actor arrived in Belgrade, Serbia a mere four days after his daughter Charlotte died following a battle with ovarian cancer.
Pierce released a statement regarding the tragedy, noting, "On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and brothers Christopher and Sean."
"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

You’re not the only one that wants to stab LeAnn Rimes sometimes. In an interview at the Friend Movement’s Anti-Bullying Benefit Concert in LA on Monday, LeAnn Rimes recounted the time she was almost shanked by a jealous bully in elementary school.
“I used to perform around Dallas and Texas where I lived, a lot. My (school) principal would put something on the bulletin board if I was in the newspaper or something, and there was this clique of girls that did not like it. So, I had my locker egged, I had a girl bring a knife to school the last day of sixth grade and (she) tried to kill me!”
No further explanation was given for the knife incident so we’re not really sure if the girl literally went at her with a knife or if she just brought it to school and told her friends she was “about to cut a b*tch.” Neither did Rimes reveal who it was but it was probably someone named Erin Hernandez.

Maintaining her phenomenal physique, Vanessa Hudgens showed up at a Pilates studio in Studio City this morning (July 3).

Hot damn. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson covers the August issue of Essence Magazine, which just happens to be the “Sexy Black 40? issue, which picks the top 40 sexiest black celebrities “of all time.” The list not only includes Dwayne but also Common, LL Cool J, Tysen Beckford, and Boris Kodjo. That little preview makes me pretty interested to see the rest of this list when it arrives!
I’ve always had a soft spot for Dwayne, who will always be “The Rock” to me even though I’m not really a wrestling fan at all. Mind you, he looks knuckle-bitingly good in his little black skivvies in the ring. And I’ll forgive him almost every time he adds to his list of roles in cheesy action franchises and silly, tutu-involving kids movies. So when he talks to Essence about how he takes care of a woman and wants to make out for hours at a time, I listen:
How he will drop your panties: “When I say I’m going to take care of a woman, I don’t just mean physically or sexually or romantically. I’m going to take care of her emotionally and spiritually. I’m going to take care of her in all ways. I take a lot of pride in that today.”

I would totally let The Rock take care of me in every way that he so desires. Not only is he in outstanding physical shape, but he’s got loads of charisma and has a reputation of being a really nice guy. Is it offensive that he wants a woman that desires his “big hands” to take care of them? I don’t think that’s a non-feminist stance at all. I think he’s really talking about emotional security and “in the bedroom” stuff. You know what they say about guys with big hands, right? Plus, dude even causes spontaneous ovulation by holding an umbrella.

A scruffy, smirking Matthew Perry covers this week’s People Magazine with the tagline “My Life as an Addict.” Perry, 43, has been sober for years after publicly battling addiciton during the height of his fame in the late 90s and early aughts. We last heard him talk about his addiction issues during interviews he did a little over a month ago, when he was discussing his advocacy work. Perry was honored at the White House a few weeks ago for his work advocating for drug courts, which attempt to use rehabilitation for addicts instead of incarceration.
He’s really put his money where his mouth is, and donated his entire house in Malibu to be used as a men’s sober living facility called Perry House. So it’s kind of heart-warming to see Perry cover People this week, and to see him him get the recognition he deserves. He’s not even promoting anything so kudos to People. Here’s a preview of their upcoming story:
For a decade, Matthew Perry was living an actor’s dream: he had an iconic role as sardonic Chandler Bing on the beloved No. 1 sitcom Friends and a salary that reached $1 million an episode.
But behind the scenes, Perry was struggling. “I had a big problem with alcohol and pills and I couldn’t stop,” he tells PEOPLE in an exclusive new cover story. “Eventually things got so bad that I couldn’t hide it, and then everybody knew.”
After a harrowing, years-long battle with addictions to alcohol and Vicodin, Perry, 43, finally got sober. “Something clicked,” he says. “You have to want the help.” And he’s now dedicated to helping other addicts. He turned his former Malibu beach home into a men’s sober living facility called Perry House, and he’s becoming a passionate advocate for drug courts, through which non-violent substance abusers receive treatment instead of incarceration for their offenses.
Perry, who recently starred on the sitcom Go On and appears in recurring role on The Good Wife, says that sobriety and helping others have led him to finally find “true happiness” in his life. “The interesting reason that I can be so helpful to people now is that I screwed up so often,” he says. “It’s nice for people to see that somebody who once struggled in their life is not struggling any more.”

Several of you commented on our last Matthew Perry story that he’s been with actress Lizzy Caplan since 2006. I didn’t know that! I really liked her in Hot Tub Time Machine and “True Blood.” The make a cute couple, but they’re not attention seeking in the least. I’ve never seen a photo of them together on a red carpet or anything. (There are photos of them at sporting events together, but I didn’t notice until now.)
Perry was so good in “Go On” and I’m bummed that the show was canceled. Decent sitcoms are rare, and he really has the comedic chops to carry his own show, he just needs the right vehicle. Maybe Perry could find a home on cable. He would be awesome in a raunchier comedy I think.
While I’m psyched that Perry is getting some love I can’t help but think that Melissa McCarthy over on the right sidebar there could have earned a full cover. The Heat is a big hit and she’s a bona fide movie star now. Maybe she didn’t grant People an exclusive interview though.

Yesterday was Lindsay Lohan?s 27th birthday. I didn?t really want to mark the occasion, but here we go. As you remember, Lindsay is currently ensconced in rehab. This is her third rehab facility in two months ? although I?m not sure if we should count the first one, since she never actually checked in, she just went through the parking lot. She was in the Betty Ford Clinic for about a month, then the court allowed her to switch to this Malibu facility, Cliffside, where she is right now. There were some stories a while back that Lindsay was throwing cracked-out hissy fits about being in court-ordered rehab during her birthday, but at the end of the day, I haven?t heard anything about her trying to crack-jack her way out to go partying for her b-day. This is progress in Lindsay?s world. Radar does have a sad story about how she celebrated in rehab:
Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 27th birthday at Cliffside Rehab Center in Malibu with her attorney Shawn Holley, and a cake donated by Carvel that she shared with other patients, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
A judge and prosecutor signed off recently on Lindsay?s transfer from Betty Ford to Cliffside Rehab Center. The actress has been court ordered to spend 90 days in rehab.
The starlet ?didn?t like spending her birthday in rehab, but she managed to make the best of it,? an insider told Radar exclusively. ?Carvel donated a delicious ice cream birthday cake, and her attorney, Shawn Holley dropped by to have some cake.
?Lindsay shared her birthday cake with the other patients, which everyone enjoyed. Lindsay seems to be in a very good place, and is responding very well to treatment at Cliffside.?
Visiting day at Cliffside is on Sundays, but her attorney, can visit anytime. Lohan?s friends are planning on celebrating her belated birthday on Sunday at Cliffside.
It?s been a bumpy road for Lindsay?s latest stint at recovery. Lindsay was unhappy with Betty Ford from the beginning and begged the judge and prosecutors to allow her to leave and they finally acquiesced and agreed to let her to move to Cliffside.
She still has about half of her sentence to complete in this rehab facility, as the insider said ?she is scheduled to be released at the beginning of August.?
Upon LiLo?s release from rehab, she will be jetting off to the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her movie, The Canyons.
Tenille Houston, one of Lohan?s co-stars in the movie, previously told us, ?We were originally going to have the premiere in June but it got switched around so Lindsay could be there. And we?re going to be in the Venice Film Festival also and I?m going and so is Lindsay.?
The Canyons will be in theaters Aug. 2 in New York, and Los Angeles (as well as VOD and iTunes) the following week.

That was really nice of Shawn Holley to come visit Lindsay in rehab. Shawn is pretty much the mother that Lindsay never had. And while I buy the ?it wasn?t visiting day? explanation for why no one in Lindsay?s family was there, it?s still sad to me that she spent her birthday with recovering alcoholics and addicts and her lawyer. As for the Carvel cake? well, I suppose Cookie-Puss?s fatwa against the Lohan family is over. I can?t believe Cookie Puss is more mature than Dina Lohan.

I really dislike Redbook?s redesign. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the way they did their covers up until this year. Redbook used to have a standard cover layout ? an attractive woman, centered on the cover, with text and headlines on either side. But, beyond this awful cover, the rest of the photoshoot with Rebecca Romijn is pretty. I especially like that the magazine didn?t airbrush her eye crinkles ? it?s so refreshing to see a beautiful 40-year-old woman who looks 40 years old, and who looks like she?s aging naturally.
Anyway, Rebecca is likely promoting that awful-looking new show with Jon Tenney, King & Maxwell, which comes on TNT. I like Tenney, and I like Romijn, but even the commercials for the show annoy me. Thankfully, she doesn?t talk about the show in her Redbook interview, she just talks about her family and how they don?t have a full-time nanny.
Two kids were always in the cards for Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O?Connell. Despite battling infertility, the couple planned for a future as a family of four ? and were doubly blessed when they discovered that not only was Romijn pregnant, but they were expecting twins!
And while tackling twins is tough, the couple are taking on the task alone ? without the help of a full-time nanny.
?We?re each other?s assistants. We pick up each other?s slack. Whoever is less busy helps the busier one: ?Can you go pick up this for me?? or ?Can you book my flight??? Romijn, 40, says in Redbook?s August issue.
?That?s what real life is. Once you start paying somebody else to do the grunt work, who are you??
Adding to the difficult job of managing multiples is Romijn?s work commitments. With the King & Maxwell star shooting on location in Canada, O?Connell is on full-time daddy duty, bringing daughters Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose back and forth from their Los Angeles home to Vancouver to visit their working mama.
But, due to the couple?s ?very different? approaches to raising their 4-year-old girls, watching O?Connell step up to the parenting plate hasn?t always been easy. Fortunately, Romijn has realized handing over the reins isn?t always a recipe for disaster.
?It?s hard for me to not make suggestions when I?m not on duty. For example, 10 days ago when he was bringing the girls up to Vancouver, I was like, ?Oh, God, he cannot forget their jackets. I have to remember to tell him to bring rain boots,?? she says.
?Then I told myself: ?He knows what the weather is like in Vancouver.? Meanwhile, he showed up with one pair of shoes each, two pairs of pants, two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and no jacket! This was my worst fear and we were ? fine.?
Still, the actress admits jugging both her personal life with her professional career is a constant challenge. ?Sometimes I do get a little teary. Jerry and I will see the girls running ahead of us and say, ?Look at them, they?ll never be this little again ? not even 10 minutes from now,?? she says.
It has been almost six years since Romijn and O?Connell tied the knot ? later welcoming their daughters and settling into their family routine ? but a big part of the former model?s previous marriage is still a popular topic for the public.
?Oh my God, it happened to me last night!? she says in reference to still being called Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. ?You know, getting through all that was a lot, and when I was finally Rebecca Romijn again, I thought, ?I?ll just stick with this for a little while.??
But not so fast, says Romijn ? her surname is still subject to change sooner rather than later.
?At a certain age I think it?ll be my girls who ask, ?Why is your last name different than ours?? Once it matters to them, it?s going to start mattering to me. And also for Jerry,? she says.
?My girls have this funny thing that they always do when it?s the four of us ? they go, ?See, here we are, all together, a family,? over and over again. I think ?O?Connell? will play a big part in that.?

The nice thing about ?Rebecca Romijn-Stamos? was that it had a good flow and it?s still fun to say. ?Romijn-O?Connell? won?t be as fun to say. Not that it matters, because I do think Jerry and Rebecca are in it for the long haul. As for the nanny stuff? I like that she specifies ?no FULL-TIME nanny?. Meaning that they do have help to do some of the ?grunt work? but that their helper/nanny probably doesn?t live with them, I?m assuming. Also, I didn?t know they battled infertility. Has she discussed that before or is that news?

You guys, I?m sorry, but this is all SO suspicious. These are new photos of Kaley Cuoco yesterday, not even 24 hours after the news broke (in Us Weekly and then separately by People Mag) that Kaley and Henry Cavill are boning and it?s all lust-filled and hot. Henry was with Gina Carano just a month and a half ago, and now he?s loved up with Kaley, or so ?somebody? would have us believe.
Kaley was pap?d in Sherman Oaks getting her nails done. Well, it?s not like she was shopping on Robertson, I guess? Did Kaley call the paps? Is she the one leaking all of this stuff to People and Us Weekly? Here?s the thing ? I have my doubts that she?s the woman behind the curtain, you know? Her dating M.O. has always been much more casual than this. This is a professional couple roll-out in this day and age ? it used to be that new couples would announce their status by walking a red carpet together. Nowadays they officially roll out their couple status with pap shots and cryptic tweets and a quiet confirmation to the magazines. The level of this Kaley/Henry roll-out is practically Kate Bosworth-esque. Kaley has never done anything like this. So… is it Henry?!
LaineyGossip has had some good dirt on the conspiracy side of this ? apparently, Kaley and Henry are represented by the same publicity agency (Viewpoint) and both Man of Steel and The Big Bang Theory are Warner Brothers properties. So, I can see why their ?people? would be into this union. But how do you get from ?our publicists set us up and we boned a few times? to ?let?s announce our couple status to Us Weekly??
Also, I understand that a lot of Kaley?s fans were mad about me shading her in yesterday?s post. I don?t know what to say. I don?t really know that much about her, and I truly don?t have strong feelings either way. She?s cute, she?s bubbly, she seems like a nice girl, and I never said anything about how much money she makes or anything like that, so I didn?t understand what all of that yelling was about. But here?s the question: is Kaley making a play for something else? Like, does she want to be a movie star now or something? What?s the angle? Am I overthinking this? Is the angle merely ?he?s hot and she?s cute and the sex is good?? I feel like there?s another dimension to this.

Hugh Jackman has been married to his wife Deborrah for seventeen years now, yet some people still insist that he’s gay. Some people point towards their two adopted children as some form of evidence, yet they fail to recognize that Deborra suffered miscarriages before she and Hugh decided to open their home to kids who needed a family. The rumors of Hugh’s sexuality seem particularly cruel because I don’t think it’s an issue of people basing their judgment upon Hugh’s inherent ability to sing and dance like a boss. Instead, I think people are saying this because Deborra isn’t the typical stick-thin, over-Botoxed trophy wife that we’re used to seeing with movie stars. This is about people saying that she’s “not good enough” to be married to a hetero A-lister, so of course, she must be bearding. And that’s an awful thing for people to think.
For his part, Hugh doesn’t seem to be upset by people questioning his sexuality, but it matters a lot to him that the rumors upset his wife. In a 2008 interview, Deborra claimed that she often told people that Hugh wasn’t gay. In 2011, she seemed to indicate that the rumors affect her body image by adding, “heaven forbid I have a human experience and carry a little weight.” Last year, Hugh covered the matter while conducing his Les Miserables Oscar campaign by telling the Hollywood Reporter that the rumors bother Deb. Still, the buzzings persist, and now Hugh and Deb are talking to the press together:
Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness have hit out at the “stupid” and “offensive” rumours that the Wolverine star is gay.
In an interview with the Nine Network’s 60 Minutes, Jackman said he finds the persistent gossip “frustrating,” especially for his wife of 17 years.
“If I was [gay], I would be,” Jackman told the program in a candid 16-minute interview last night. “It’s to me not the most interesting thing about a person anyway, but I do get frustrated for Deb, because I see Deb go ‘Ah, this is crazy’.”
Jackman’s hit stage performance as Peter Allen in A Boy from Oz a decade ago appears to have shaped the Australian actor’s image and raised speculation that the marriage between Jackman, 44, and Furness, 57, was a “sham.”
“It is just wrong, it’s like, it’s a lie,” said Furness, sitting alongside her husband. “It’s just offensive. If he was gay, fine, he would say he’s gay. I can totally understand why the persistence of these rumors would upset Deborra because, like I said above, she’s taking it personally because people tend to point towards her physical appearance as indicative of Hugh’s sexual preference. She’s not saying that being gay is “stupid” or “offensive,” but she’s saying that people’s attitudes towards her marriage are both of those things. I’ll never understand why people have to be so nasty, and sadly, I think people will only gain more ammunition by the fact that she’s so plagued by these rumors.

Jennifer Aniston is still shilling her haircare line, Living Proof, as well as her endorsement deal with Aveeno, which I practically forgot about. So instead of talking about her hair endlessly, Jennifer gave an interview to In the Cut about her skincare. Which is weird, because while I don?t really have hair-jealousy with Jennifer, I understand why her hair is famous. But I don?t understand why Jennifer would be famous for her skin. At all. She loves to sunbathe, she smoked for years, and her skin tells that tale. You can read the full interview here (as well as a Q&A with her makeup artist Angela Levin), and here are some highlights:
NY Mag: What is your typical daily skin care routine?
Jennifer Aniston: The skin care rule I stand by is simply cleanse, tone, and moisturize. I also try to exfoliate pretty regularly. Awhile back I was doing a movie in the summer heat. Long days with a face full of makeup made my skin react badly. My makeup artist on set did a great thing, she gave me a tube of Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Scrub to use every night. And I’ve been using it ever since.
Do you believe women occasionally make the wrong choices with products and their skincare routines?
When I started making enough money to afford high-end, fancy skincare products with sexy bottles and impressive claims, I decided to give them a try. As a result my skin acted up and got irritated. I think sometimes women may be overcleansing their skin. Some products and masks can be too aggressive and irritating for certain skin types. I believe the more simple, natural, and easy the skin care regime, the better off your skin will be.
What beauty essentials are always in your bag?
I like to have my favorite lip balm by Dr. Hauschka. I always have Fig lip liner by Este Lauder, I?ve been using that pencil forever. I really like this concealer pencil by La Femme, which is double ended, one side is a concealer and the other is a highlighter. Sometimes I?ll throw some makeup wipes in my bag, they’re great when I go to the gym or yoga. I usually have a small bottle of my Jennifer Aniston fragrance, in case I need a quick scent touch up.
Can you share any other beauty tips that you believe help keep your skin looking gorgeous?
I can never stress enough to my friends that they must do as I do … hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink lots of water, get enough sleep, exercise, and eat a clean healthy diet, whenever possible.
Have you ever been in a situation where you had no other choice but to grab some fast food?
I’ll never forget when Justin and I were on a road trip and we were so hungry. The only thing around was McDonald’s. I think I ordered a Big Mac. Wow, my body did not react well to that! It was like putting gasoline in a purified system. I am always trying to eat organic and natural foods, so that just made my stomach turn and made me feel terrible. And I think what you put in your body, as well as stress, is reflected in the quality of your skin.

I?m sure many of you won?t care about this, but these photos just make me happy. Emma Thompson and her mother, Phyllida Law, were both given honorary doctorates in drama from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow yesterday. Phyllida is beautiful, isn?t she? And Emma too. You can take all of the Kardashians, Bosworths, et al and just leave Emma for me. Emma is one of my favorite people in the world. She?s funny and talented and cool, and her graduate garb is lovely. Unfortunately, Emma?s new honorary doctorate just means that she feels like a fraud:
Emma Thompson has admited feeling like a fraud as she collected an honorary degree in Glasgow alongside her mother Phyllida Law. She said her son quizzed her on how many essays she had actually written for the degree and joked she will now demand to be addressed as doctor.
The acting duo were awarded honorary doctorates in drama from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) in Glasgow and later posed for photos in their graduation robes and signed autographs for fans. Nanny McPhee star Thompson won an Oscar for her lead role in 1992?s Howards End and a second Academy Award in 1996 for best adapted screenplay for Sense And Sensibility.
The pair have starred in several films together, including The Winter Guest, but sharing a stage at the RCS graduation topped the bill.
Thompson said: “We’ve not received anything like this before and we both feel slightly fraudulent because when I told my son he asked ‘how many essays did you have to [write] to get that?’ So we feel really lucky that we now get to put ‘doctor’ in front of our names and pretend we’re important. We’ve both had so much work as actors and are still working so to get a degree for it is great. I suppose in a sense it’s a reward for hanging in there. So many actors fall by the wayside so maybe this is recognition because we’re still going.?
Law joked: “It’s certainly not for our looks. It’s a dreadful mistake to be born exquisitely beautiful because it wears off by 28. Thankfully we didn’t need to worry about that.”
Law, who was born in Glasgow and was married to actor Eric Thompson from 1957 until his death in 1982, has appeared in many documentaries and interviews concerning her late husband’s narration on The Magic Roundabout and was in the original London cast of La Cage Aux Folles at London Palladium. The 81-year-old will receive a second degree when she becomes honorary doctor of letters from Glasgow Caledonian University later in the week.
“It’s great fun to be able to do this together, much better than collecting it on your own. And to get it in Glasgow is great,” Law said. “It’s quite silly that I’m getting another one but it means I’ll have two and Emma will be in the audience this time to see me.”
Thompson is married to Royal Conservatoire alumnus Greg Wise and said she is delighted to keep up the family tradition, even if her husband is not.
“Greg graduated from here in the 80s or 90s and he’s fit to be dead and spitting feathers at home because he had to do so much work and exams to get his degree and we just had to turn up to become doctors.”
The honours for the mother and daughter see them join the likes of singer Annie Lennox, comedian Billy Connolly and actor Tilda Swinton, who have all received honorary doctorates from the Conservatoire, previously the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Also receiving honorary doctorates were opera singer Patricia MacMahon and Jenny Sealy, a producer for the London 2012 Paralympics opening ceremony.

Emma is so English! That interview was a study in how not to take yourself too seriously, which should be make the list of ?Very British Problems?. Anyway, I always forget that Emma?s husband Greg Wise is so Scotland-friendly. I believe he?s part Scottish, he went to school in Scotland, and when he and Emma married, he wore a traditional kilt. Sigh? I love them. I love Emma most of all.

All by itself, the shirt isn’t bad. Nautical stripes are very in. But it needs to be paired with skinny jeans or cigarette pants, not a flouncy patterned skirt. Horizontal stripes make you look wider to begin with, but add a puffy A-line skirt into the mix and you might as well be gestating a fetus.
The skirt by itself isn’t bad either, but it needs to be worn with a fitted top or a belt to define the waist. Her patent strappy red flats are also chic and look great with the shoulder bag, which I also really like. So basically I love everything about her outfit… separately. It’s one of those rare instances where everything seems right and like it’s going to work, and then you put it all together and it’s a huge disappointment, like “The Expendables” or “The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.”
