Rebecca Romijn is promoting the latest season of Skin Wars, a reality competition show she hosts in which contestants are masters at temporary body paint. I don’t watch it but I know two people who do and who rave about the show, which is on GSN. Romijn, 43, started out as a model for Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated in the early 90s and so she has some thoughts about trends in modeling, namely more curvy models and the new crop of Instagram models which has come up. I appreciate how candid she was about the fact that she considers social media models just another trend. And unlike Cheryl Tiegs she’s able to recognize model Ashley Graham as hot instead of concern-trolling her. Here’s more of what she told Entertainment Tonight:
Speaking of Sports Illustrated, Cheryl Tiegs criticized the magazine for putting a plus-size model on the cover of their most recent swimsuit issue. Do you have a different opinion?
Absolutely! Ashley Graham is one of the most beautiful women I have ever laid eyes on. She is incredibly healthy and I think it?s fantastic that SI is opening up our standards of beauty to include somebody that a lot more people in our country can relate to. Women don?t get sexier than Ashley Graham — she is just as hot as can be.
As a former fashion model, what are your thoughts on the new generation of models such as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, who are more famous for their social media presence than their runway experience?
No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue. So it is frustrating. I know a lot of people — legitimate fashion people — can?t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion. They are not true supermodels. And the thing is, I have always looked to Vogue magazine to lead the way, not be a follower. I rely on Vogue to set the standard, not follow what everybody else is doing. So I have been disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards. But it will change; fashion always does.
Your costar from the first three X-Men movies, Famke Janssen, has criticized the apparent ?sexism? of the recent time-tripping films in which older versions of the same female character have not been brought back, unlike the older male characters.
I am glad that she said it and put it out there.
Do you agree that this is yet another example of sexism — and ageism — in Hollywood?
I haven?t thought about it much because they signed us to these movies three at a time, so my contract was for the first three. It?s a contractual thing. I don?t have an opinion on whether or not there is some kind of double standard going with regard to bringing back the older men [Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen] but not the older women. I?d be happy to go back and reprise that role sometime but maybe they have moved on. Maybe they just want to keep going younger. People tweet at me all the time: ?Would you ever go back and play Mystique again?? Um, do people realize that it?s not my choice? [Laughs] Have I been asked? No, I have not been asked.
How do you feel about Jennifer Lawrence?s interpretation of the character that you created?
Jennifer Lawrence is doing a fantastic job. I could not think of a cooler girl to share that role with. It?s not like I take issue with who has taken over the role of Mystique. She is a solid actress and she?s got an Oscar, so she is doing something right.
Is there any truth to the rumor that your husband, Jerry O?Connell, is being considered as Michael Strahan?s replacement on Live?
I have no idea. The news is so new that it just blindsided all of us. He was in the rotation before Strahan was hired — it was down to just a handful of people and he was definitely in the running then.
[From ETOnline]
I like how open she is about everything, she gives a good interview. She cleverly brought up the topic that there’s a double standard for the older X-Men actresses being replaced while the men are allowed to stay on, but said she but said that she “didn’t have an opinion” on it. She has an opinion, there’s a double standard! As for her husband Jerry O’Connell’s chances to replace Michael Strahan I get the impression that he’s always the goofy runner-up choice, never the front runner. We’ve heard that Kelly wants Anderson Cooper or Andy Cohen anyway, as she’s close to both of them and they’re arguably more famous than Jerry, plus his name was not included in the list of guests hosts recently floated by People. So poor Jerry I guess.
Regarding her thoughts on Instagram models not being “real” models, the most famous Instagram models are the beneficiaries of nepotism too. Still, they’re working with the technology that’s available now and making careers for themselves. If Instagram was available in the 90s you can bet the supermodels would have taken advantage of it. Instead they were beholden to recruiters, editors and modeling agencies who got to make or break careers. As much as some of the Instagram celebrities bug, I don’t see how it was better in the past.
These two saw their own shadow today and then bit me #groundhogday

| Rebecca Romijn claims she doesn't have a full-time nanny: 'That's what real life is' | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I really dislike Redbook?s redesign. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the way they did their covers up until this year. Redbook used to have a standard cover layout ? an attractive woman, centered on the cover, with text and headlines on either side. But, beyond this awful cover, the rest of the photoshoot with Rebecca Romijn is pretty. I especially like that the magazine didn?t airbrush her eye crinkles ? it?s so refreshing to see a beautiful 40-year-old woman who looks 40 years old, and who looks like she?s aging naturally.
Anyway, Rebecca is likely promoting that awful-looking new show with Jon Tenney, King & Maxwell, which comes on TNT. I like Tenney, and I like Romijn, but even the commercials for the show annoy me. Thankfully, she doesn?t talk about the show in her Redbook interview, she just talks about her family and how they don?t have a full-time nanny.
Two kids were always in the cards for Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O?Connell. Despite battling infertility, the couple planned for a future as a family of four ? and were doubly blessed when they discovered that not only was Romijn pregnant, but they were expecting twins!
And while tackling twins is tough, the couple are taking on the task alone ? without the help of a full-time nanny.
?We?re each other?s assistants. We pick up each other?s slack. Whoever is less busy helps the busier one: ?Can you go pick up this for me?? or ?Can you book my flight??? Romijn, 40, says in Redbook?s August issue.
?That?s what real life is. Once you start paying somebody else to do the grunt work, who are you??
Adding to the difficult job of managing multiples is Romijn?s work commitments. With the King & Maxwell star shooting on location in Canada, O?Connell is on full-time daddy duty, bringing daughters Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose back and forth from their Los Angeles home to Vancouver to visit their working mama.
But, due to the couple?s ?very different? approaches to raising their 4-year-old girls, watching O?Connell step up to the parenting plate hasn?t always been easy. Fortunately, Romijn has realized handing over the reins isn?t always a recipe for disaster.
?It?s hard for me to not make suggestions when I?m not on duty. For example, 10 days ago when he was bringing the girls up to Vancouver, I was like, ?Oh, God, he cannot forget their jackets. I have to remember to tell him to bring rain boots,?? she says.
?Then I told myself: ?He knows what the weather is like in Vancouver.? Meanwhile, he showed up with one pair of shoes each, two pairs of pants, two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and no jacket! This was my worst fear and we were ? fine.?
Still, the actress admits jugging both her personal life with her professional career is a constant challenge. ?Sometimes I do get a little teary. Jerry and I will see the girls running ahead of us and say, ?Look at them, they?ll never be this little again ? not even 10 minutes from now,?? she says.
It has been almost six years since Romijn and O?Connell tied the knot ? later welcoming their daughters and settling into their family routine ? but a big part of the former model?s previous marriage is still a popular topic for the public.
?Oh my God, it happened to me last night!? she says in reference to still being called Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. ?You know, getting through all that was a lot, and when I was finally Rebecca Romijn again, I thought, ?I?ll just stick with this for a little while.??
But not so fast, says Romijn ? her surname is still subject to change sooner rather than later.
?At a certain age I think it?ll be my girls who ask, ?Why is your last name different than ours?? Once it matters to them, it?s going to start mattering to me. And also for Jerry,? she says.
?My girls have this funny thing that they always do when it?s the four of us ? they go, ?See, here we are, all together, a family,? over and over again. I think ?O?Connell? will play a big part in that.?
[From People]
The nice thing about ?Rebecca Romijn-Stamos? was that it had a good flow and it?s still fun to say. ?Romijn-O?Connell? won?t be as fun to say. Not that it matters, because I do think Jerry and Rebecca are in it for the long haul. As for the nanny stuff? I like that she specifies ?no FULL-TIME nanny?. Meaning that they do have help to do some of the ?grunt work? but that their helper/nanny probably doesn?t live with them, I?m assuming. Also, I didn?t know they battled infertility. Has she discussed that before or is that news?

Stripping down to support breast cancer awareness, Jerry O?Connell entered Ellen's splash tank on Tuesday's show (October 23).
The "Mockingbird Lane" actor took off his Pink robe to reveal some teeny bejeweled black briefs and then danced his way through the rowdy female audience.
After his wife, Rebecca Romijn, failed to hit the target, his costar (and Ellen's wife) Portia de Rossi dunked him on the third attempt.
Enjoying the opportunity to ham it up, Jerry busted out his best sexy moves after being doused with water. Watch the video of the dunk tank below.

| Rebecca Romijn: Losing 60 pounds was 'the hardest thing I?ve ever done in my life' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rebecca Romijn covers the March issue of Fitness magazine to discuss losing the baby weight after giving birth to twin babies (Dolly and Charlie) with husband Jerry O’Connell … in December 2008? That sort of seems like an untimely declaration coming from a celebrity, but okay. We’ll go with it because I can appreciate that it took a few years to finally shed all 60 pounds that she gained during pregnancy. Oh wait, Rebecca is currently promoting her role in Tyler Perry’s upcoming Good Deeds movie, so I guess that scoring this cover is part of that push. Regardless, Rebecca is looking like her old swimsuit model self in this photoshoot, and here are some interview excerpts:
On Losing 60 Pounds: “Losing that weight was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I had to change the way I worked out, the way I ate — everything. Everything I did before I got pregnant — like Pilates, which I had done for about 14 years — didn’t work anymore. I had to find a completely different way to challenge my body. A friend suggested I try Bikram yoga. At first the idea of doing a 90-minute workout in a 105-degree room sounded like torture. But the sweating is exactly what I became addicted to. My body changed dramatically almost immediately. Within three classes I noticed less belly fat. My knees and legs are stronger than ever now; my arms have definition for the first time in my life; and my posture is much, much better. I also feel completely energized from all of the deep breathing. I leave class relieved of any anxiety I went in with, and the sweating and detoxifying make my skin feel great. I can’t recommend it enough.”
On Leaving Her Twins: “That’s been a huge challenge since I became a mom. Mother’s guilt is no joke! I feel it every time I leave them to go exercise. Now that the girls are in preschool, it’s easier. I go as soon as I drop them off at school. As a mom it’s very important to take care of yourself physically and mentally. You’re no good to anyone unless you do. There are days when I rush out to a yoga class just as I’m starting to feel like I might be losing my mind.”
On Her Diet: After eating more throughout my pregnancy and while I was nursing for eight months, I forgot how much I was supposed to eat to keep my weight in check. Having a little bit of chocolate after dinner was turning into too much chocolate every night after dinner — or too much wine or too many pancakes. So I went on a major diet about eight months ago. I cut out starch, dairy, fat, red meat, alcohol, and sugar. Just being on a diet was weird for me. I had never been on one in my life, and suddenly I was counting calories and measuring my food. Cutting out sugar was definitely the hardest. The first week I thought I was going to die. The cravings were bad. But after that, it was easy.”
On Her Husband: “Every meal with Jerry [O'Connell] includes wine and dessert, which I love. Before we had kids, I gained weight from eating like that. But I was happy and in love, and my clothes still fit. Jerry liked how I looked. He’s very much a ‘there’s more to hold on to’ kind of guy.”
[From Fitness Magazine]
I think most of us who’ve dealt with baby weight can sympathize (or at least emphathize) with Rebecca’s struggle and also hand it to actresses like Jenna Fischer for “standing in solidarity” with women who aren’t a size 2 after giving birth. It’s funny how our Western priorities cause women to often consider losing weight to be, like, the hardest thing ever, but most of us feel that way, don’t we? By the way, Rebecca looks smashing (albeit highly airbrushed) in this photo spread.

| John Stamos' extortionists found guilty, will spend years in jail | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Here?s the lesson, boys and girls: if you?re a fine-looking dude who wants to offer some jailbait some lovely cunnilingus before heading off to the Jacuzzi to do blow off some stripper?s tittays, you can totally get away with all of it! Woohoo, John Stamos is still a rock star, bitches! The extortion case against a man and a woman accused of trying to blackmail John Stamos for $680,000 were found guilty on Thursday, July 15. Stamos even testified about the circumstances (his version) surrounding the incident in which he met Allison Coss, who was 17 years old when she met Stamos in Miami shortly after his split from Rebecca Romijn. Coss and her lawyer/co-conspirator Scott Sippola, were found guilty and could do up to nine years in jail:
A Michigan man and woman were convicted Thursday of trying to extort $680,000 from “Full House” actor John Stamos by threatening to sell compromising photos that prosecutors say didn’t even exist.
Scott Edward Sippola, 31, and Allison Lenore Coss, 24, could face up to nine years in prison for convictions of conspiracy and interstate communications to extort money, said assistant U.S. Attorney Maarten Vermaat. Sentencing is set for October 8.
“The case was made by the fact that these defendants made threats to damage his [Stamos'] reputation in order to have him pay them,” Vermaat said after the verdict in Marquette, Michigan. Jurors deliberated for about five hours Thursday.
According to CNN affiliate WLUC, prosecutors said that Coss and Sippola demanded $680,000 from the television actor or they would sell embarrassing pictures to tabloid publications of Stamos allegedly using drugs.
Vermaat said the defendants sent about 40 e-mails to Stamos threatening to sell the photos. FBI agents got involved and started monitoring Stamos’ e-mail account and “eventually communicated by cellular telephone with the defendants pretending to be Mr. Stamos’ business manager.” Sippola and Coss were arrested in December 2009 at an airport, a pre-arranged drop off spot for the money.
Defense attorney Sarah Henderson alleged at trial that Stamos had a fling with Coss when she was a 17-year-old vacationing on spring break in 2004. Prosecutors said Stamos met Coss during a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. They developed a friendship and the two communicated by e-mail occasionally until November 2009, when the actor turned the phohtos matter over to the FBI.
According to WLUC, Coss testified there were several photos depicting Stamos using cocaine. She claimed the actor seemed interested in buying the photos. The actor testified that nothing inappropriate happened at a 2004 spring-break party and, accordingly, he didn’t believe compromising photos existed. Stamos said Thursday he wants to get back to work.
“I would like to thank the court, the FBI and the U.S .Attorney’s office for their swift and efficient dealings in connection with this case,” Stamos said in a statement Thursday afternoon. I am shocked and perplexed how individuals could fabricate so many false stories in an effort to defend a crime. I agreed to be a witness for a federal criminal prosecution and endured countless false accusations about my behavior and appropriateness. The allegations made regarding an inappropriate relationship are completely untrue. These slanderous allegations to smear my reputation were part of their defense to redirect attention away from the federal crime of extortion. There was no hot tub, no drugs, no nudity and nothing sexual in nature involved in my friendship with this woman. They lied about everything from a pregnancy to compromising photos.”
A call by CNN to defense attorney Sarah Henderson was not immediately returned.
[From CNN]
What do you want to bet that Stamos gets some work out of this? A nice character arc on one of the CSIs, maybe, or even something more high-brow, like Weeds or Breaking Bad? Because you know what? This whole thing actually helped his reputation. I always thought he was very pretty, but now he seems dangerous and naughty, even if the story about offering cunnilingus and the Jacuzzi, with the strippers and the tittays wasn?t true. Stamos? virility and bad-boy appeal has given him an extra kick. Mama like.

The National Milk Mustache ‘got milk?’ Campaign launched a new initiative today called the “Great Gallon Give” with the help of actress and mom Rebecca Romijn, who is appearing in her second milk mustache ad - this time with her twin daughters. The new program will give away hundreds of thousands of gallons of milk - the equivalent of more than three million servings - to help raise awareness of the important role milk plays in building strong families. Events are scheduled from coast-to-coast to give out the gallons and families can register to win a year’s free supply of milk at whymilk.com.The “Great Gallon Give” will also make it possible to help families in need by passing a virtual gallon of milk to friends on Facebook (Facebook.com/MilkMustache). For every virtual gallon passed, $1 will go to Feeding America, up to $100,000. Feeding America is the country’s largest network of food banks that serves more than 25 million people facing hunger in this country. In addition, milk processors will be donating thousands of real gallons of milk to local food banks in the Feeding America network.
