I love Thursdays. Why? Not because they?re a day off from Friday. I mean that?s fine, but insignificant. At least when compared to Gwyneth Paltrow. As all things are. Thursdays are amazing because they are little mini-passive-aggressive holidays ?Gwynnie sends out her weekly Goop email. I know that whatever else happens throughout my week, I am guaranteed some entertainment come this day. That?s why Friday almost seems like a letdown: six more days until Goop Day.
This week, Gwyneth is helping us nourish our inner aspect by talking about addiction. Gwyneth, of course, has no addictions. This would require some admission of imperfection. And Gwyneth is nothing if not stick straight and perfect. But she is fine writing a little intro paragraph with some subtly passive-aggressive judgments of others and their addictions ? before offering some incredibly lengthy essays about addiction from her favorite gurus, ?sages,? and experts.
Have you ever loved somebody who drinks until their usually charming personality is usurped by a monster? Or discovered that someone you adore is throwing up after every meal? Or wondered if you are stuck in a feedback loop of tension and unrest because you need the adrenaline of stress to function? How do we become enslaved by addiction? What is addiction? Hmm, I wonder who Gwyneth may have adored until she found out she was throwing up after every meal? Could it be none other than Chipmunk Cheeks Trainer to the Stars Tracey Anderson? Tracy?s obvious bulimia is hard to ignore. Not only does she have a child?s body, but she espouses an 800 calorie a day diet. Bulimics often get those chipmunk cheeks because their salivary glands permanently expand from throwing up all the time. Tracy also once admitted she likes to gorge on cookies, and told “Hello!” that she dips Oreos into Pillsbury icing. Does she look like she has a body that would let her get away with that?
I don?t give Gwyneth credit for much, but if she finally figured out that Tracy?s not the guru of physical fitness she thought she was, good for her. Hey, that is the first positive Gwyneth sentence I think I?ve ever written. Tracy?s tactics are downright dangerous ? and when I look at her squatty, shapeless body, I can?t understand why anyone would pay good money to look like her. Tracy?s website has her in a bunch of ridiculous ?hot? model/stripper poses. She?s still dropping Gwyneth?s name like it?s hot, but maybe Gwyneth?s little dig means she?s finally seeing Tracy for who she is.

In a startling move, the DA has notified Rihanna’s lawyer that the singer will be subpoenaed at the next court hearing, meaning, she will be required to testify against Chris Brown. The judge also rejected a motion by Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, asking for access to confidential LAPD personnel records to find out who leaked the photograph. The judge explained that although the leak of the photo wasn’t the best thing, it has no bearing on the case.

Bijou Phillips is engaged to Danny Masterson (That 70’s Show). Although, you wouldn’t have known it if you were at Ecco Ultra Lounge last Saturday. Phillips was dancing to some mix by Carmen Electra’s DJ fiance when she started grinding some blonde girl.
“It wasn?t long before they took things further,” said our source. “Eventually Bijou grabbed the girl and they started making out and getting it on ? Danny (Masterson) was nowhere to be seen.”
Somehow, I don’t think Danny Masterson is going to mind this. If my girlfriend started making out with hot chicks by the DJ booth, I’d start to clap slowly like they do in the movies and hopefully in a few short seconds, the whole club would erupt with thunderous applause. I imagine other guys would be patting me on the back and popping open bottles of champagne in my honor.

There are several really gross parts to this story, so I?ll start slowly. First, there?s Alexa Ray Joel, the 23-year-old daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley. I think Alexa?s pretty, in that pale, bug-eyed, Anne Hathaway kind of way. So, Christie Brinkley is Alexa Ray?s mother, and as such, Christie is interested in setting up her single daughter with someone nice. Now, let?s stop right there - Christie Brinkley rather infamously went through her fourth divorce, to Peter Cook, last year after he was caught having an affair with his very young assistant. I?m not saying the affair was Christie?s fault, I?m just saying that she?s been married and divorced four times, so maybe she doesn?t have the best taste in men. But that?s not stopping Christie from playing matchmaker… and how. She wants to set Alexa up on a date with… John Mayer.
Rocker John Mayer has the approval of former supermodel Christie Brinkley if he ever wants to date her daughter Alexa Ray.
Newly-single Brinkley admits she’s quite fond of the singer/songwriter herself but insists her “cougar days” are over when it comes to dating toy-boys.
However she says, “He’s perfect dating material for my daughter… You guys could make beautiful music together.”

Jeez, Mom. Aim higher, right? I would be totally offended if my mom wanted me to date John Mayer. Alexa Ray is by no means so unfortunate that she has go for John ?Bottom of the Barrel? Mayer. This just speaks volumes about Christie - her taste in men isn?t just bad, it?s epically horrible.
This story just make me thankful my mom knows my taste in men, and she?s rooting for me to meet Gerard Butler, even though Gerry doesn?t really float her boat. Even though it?s a little gross, I don?t think my mom would even mind George Clooney as a son-in-law, although he?s closer to her age than mine. But I think my mom?s heart was broken when Matt Damon ran off and married Luciana, and didn?t even call my mom to see if I was available. Matt was the one who got away, for my mom at least.

It must kill to know that inside of you is a little dork growing. Freddie probably wants to name the kid Freddie Prinze Jr. Jr. or Thor or after some other dumb comic book hero. If you were racking your brain over why Lauren Conrad would leave the show that gave her money, power and respect more money, wonder no longer. Lauren tells us why in the new issue of Cosmo (that’s still around?). Conrad said the final straw came when producers invited the uninvited Heidi Montag to her birthday party.
“After the producers did that, I disappeared. If they were disrespectful, I was going to be disrespectful back. I told them, ‘You can call me in a week. Think about what you did,’ ” she tells the mag.
MTV wanted to infuse drama into an otherwise unwatchable episode. How disrespectful of the company that owns the show and pays Lauren’s salary to do what they’re allowed to do to heighten interest in a product they’ve invested so much in. Those bastards. Don’t they know how important Lauren Conrad is?

Apparently, Britney Spears stumbles around in a blind stupor most of the day. Which explains why an Elle magazine shoot she did during her Circus tour turned into a disaster. Sources say Elle dressed Britney in “beautiful couture clothes” — I’m going to assume they’re worth a month’s rent — which were ruined by the end of the day. How, pray tell? To put it mildly, she forgot what time of the month it was. To put it bluntly, she leaked uterine blood all over them.
Before you say anything, I’d like to point out this is a marked improvement. Usually Britney ruins designer clothes by dripping ice cream over them from her onset Popsicle break and rubbing her greasy hands over them after polishing off a bucket of KFC. Notice the absence of food stains in this story? If anything, she should be commended.

News to me, but according to Melissa Joan Hart, blogs can’t stop talking about how fat she’s gotten after giving birth to two kids. Well, Melissa put herself in a bikini on the cover of PEOPLE to prove that one hater wrong. She’s slimmed down to 113 lbs from a hefty 155 lbs. So, suck it, Mary from Illinois. But Melissa doesn’t stop there, she also wants to tell us how she did it. Oh, you’ll never guess how.
Reclaiming her slim figure took Hart 14 months of hard work. “It didn’t happen by magic ? it was as hard for me as it would be for anyone else,” she says. The fact that it took a little longer doesn’t bother her. “I didn’t want to take any time away from spending it with my sons,” she explains.
To get back in bikini shape, Hart worked with nutritionist Derek Johnson at New Metabolism to change her diet. She also hit the gym with her trainer Mark Harari at Pulse Fitness Studio.
You mean to tell me she got back in shape by eating right and working out? What kind of voodoo is this? We should burn her at the stake or throw her in the sea with rocks attached to her feet and see if she floats. Everyone knows that a healthy diet and physical exercise never work. That’s why they invented liposuction.

So what was so lame that Paris had to speak out? It was totally The Hills, the show her boyfriend (Doug ?Budget Ryan Reynolds? Reinhardt) is on. So Paris is dissing her boyfriend?s show? As if, Sparkles. According to Paris, ?He doesn?t even want to be a part of it.? I must have missed the part where someone held a gun to Doug?s head and forced him to sign a contract. But you know our Paris, she couldn?t just declare something totes lamers without making some kind of statement that made her seem like an enigma wrapped in a contradiction, accessorized by a Be-Dazzler. Even though Paris claims to have ?never seen the show in my life?, she still says the show portrayed Budget Ryan ?in a way he’s not.? Paris is so deep, she just gave me a headache.
Paris Hilton says her beau Doug Reinhardt won’t be appearing on MTV’s The Hills again.
“The show is, like, so lame and fake. He doesn’t even want to be a part of it,” Hilton told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at the Fifi Awards in NYC.
Lauren Conrad famously dumped Reinhardt on the show. Brody Jenner later accused Reinhardt of going behind Conrad’s back by pursuing Stephanie Pratt.
But Hilton told Us the show portrayed Reinhardt “in a way he’s not.”
“They make up relationships when they?re not there, and he just thinks it’s lame,” she said. “I’ve never seen the show in my life. I have no idea what it’s about. But he just thought it was cheesy.”
Reinhardt’s reality days aren’t entirely over. He will appear on the second season of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, which debuts June 2 on MTV.
“It was great,” she told Us. “He was always on set every single day, giving fun ideas. With him there, he always gave the most amazing ideas. They actually hired him as a producer to be on BFF Dubai [Hilton filmed a version of her American reality show there]. They loved his ideas so much.”

Dubai is one of America?s strongest allies in the Middle East, and we should never, ever let them see or hear about Paris Hilton. Little Suri Holmes often looks upset and can be seen cowering in paparazzi photos. It’s little wonder when you watch video of Suri out with her parents. There are tons of flashes going off and strangers calling the little girl’s name. Some other kids seem to take the paparazzi in stride, but it really bothers three-year-old Suri and we’ve had some discussion here over whether her parents should work harder to protect her from the unwanted attention and stress. Some attention is unavoidable and of course the paparazzi, not the parents, are responsible. On the other hand Katie and Tom have taken Suri out to dinner with them late at night when she might be happier at home.
A story from Cindy Adams’ column in the NY Post shows that observant fans aren’t the only ones worried about Suri’s well being. The wife of Goran Visjnic, the hot Croatian doctor on ER, supposedly scolded Katie at an American Idol taping for bringing Suri to an environment not suited for children:
Katie Holmes, obviously loving cameras and spotlights, shlepped her 3-year-old to last week’s “American Idol” finale. The fans were shrieking. The paparazzi were hyper. The kid was shaking. Watching this, Ivana Visnjic, artist wife of actor Goran Visnjic, volunteered a lesson in motherhood with: “What are you doing? This is no environment to bring a baby! You’re traumatizing this baby.” Holmes promptly left.

I’m kind of conflicted about this story. My son has food allergies that can make him flip out. I’ve had people yell at me for a temper tantrum my son is throwing at a time when he ate something he wasn’t supposed to and was having a reaction to it. It’s the most stressful time when your child is upset and it makes it worse when judgmental people chime in. At the same time, I’ve seen Suri out in the fall without a coat or tights on and just wanted to bundle her up. It’s sometimes hard to resist the urge to give advice even though it can be annoying when people do the same thing to you.
So Suri was supposedly upset at the premiere of American Idol. It’s very likely that Katie had no idea it would be that chaotic and hard for her to handle and she was probably very concerned about it. Katie has said in the past that Suri loves Idol. You can’t always judge ahead of time if a situation is going to be the best for your child and I can’t blame Katie for wanting to bring Suri to see Idol. She was probably very worried about Suri and stressed out about it at the time. To top it off she got a talking-to by a condescending woman who acted like she was a bad mom for bringing a little girl to a big show.
Tom, Katie and Suri will head to Melbourne, Australia later this year so that Katie can work on the film Don?t Be Afraid Of The Dark. The Australian tourism board is ready to welcome them with open arms.

OK! Magazine is going through a big overhaul in which they fired a bunch of people including their editor earlier this month and are trying to become more lifestyle focused in order to stand out from competing celebrity glossies like Us Weekly and People. They’ve hired consultants and marketing experts in an attempt to crack the market. Publisher Lori Burgess said they’re “working hard to enhance our offering to both the consumer and entertainment community - further delineating our brand from the competition.? In an internal e-mail published by Gawker, a consultant asked OK! staffers to “pitch one non-news celebrity lifestyle cover package” in three sentences.
The result seems to reveal how OK! is grasping at straws and bad ideas while trying to redefine their brand. They’ve run covers this month featuring Twilight, The Biggest Loser and The Hills. Their latest cover highlights lesser-known High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale as if her lifestyle is something to aspire to. It looks more like Seventeen than OK!
On the opposite end of the spectrum is OK! magazine, and their baffling choice of Ashley Tisdale for the cover. It?s great that Tisdale has a ?hot boyfriend, new album, and rockin? body,? but she?s not relevant enough to be a newsstand success. Moreover, she looks vaguely like Ashlee Simpson in the photo, and Simpson happens to be in a cover chip ? the net result is just confusing.
OK!?s sales are down considerably; several sources say the struggling weekly sold only 310,000 copies last week (it was selling in the 500,000 range this time last year). Tisdale is not going to help boost the mag?s profile, especially during this transition period in design and staffing. There?s been a rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic feel to the magazine in recent weeks. I?m pretty sure the sound I just heard was the captain calling for the lifeboats.

I like OK! and hope they hang in there, but I have to admit that I only get three tabloids a week and OK! is not among them. The few times I’ve read it there weren’t many quotable stories I could use. It doesn’t seem like Ashley Tisdale has enough fans to help OK! move copies, but maybe they worked out a deal with her for the coverage. Cover Awards says this issue will be a disaster for OK! and that they should never run a cover in which the celebrity is so unknown that you have to print her name big like that for the readers. They were probably better off with the Brangelina covers. As much as people protest that they’re sick of the BS triangle stories there’s a very good reason that the tabloids continue to run them. We know who they are and many of us have strong feelings about them.

Cameron Diaz, 36, was photographed in a little green knit bikini in Hawaii yesterday. The last we heard of Cameron she was trying to promote conservationism by letting us know that she doesn’t flush the toilet when she pees. It’s not a bad idea, and it makes me wonder if she had an ulterior motive for wading out into the water and kind of bending over a little. We all do what we can for the environment.
Cameron has broken up with semi long-term boyfriend, British model Paul Sculfor, and was last linked with Maroon 5 singer and ladies’ man Adam Levine. The two have been spotted out together several times, and In Touch reports that Levine even met Cameron’s mom for lunch on May 17. Adam is only 30 and although he hasn’t made headlines in a while he was rumored to have had a fling with Jessica Simpson toward the end of her marriage. I’m thinking he’s not the serious relationship type, but he’s probably the kind of guy who can easily charm a girl’s mother. In Touch asks if Cameron is moving too fast, but I get the impression that she knows what she’s doing.

Freddie Prinze Jr will be joining the cast of 24 according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources said Prinze is joining the cast of Fox's "24" as a regular, playing Davis Cole, a recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) footsteps.
It will be nice to have him back on TV! Sounds like if the show continues past Kiefer Sutherland's contract, they are setting up Freddie to take over for Jack Bauer.
Now I wonder if Sarah Michelle Gellar will be moving with him to LA or stay in NY with her pilot and wait to give birth to their first child?
