She has an impressive body of work and plenty of Tinseltown credibility, so when it came time to audition for ?Inside Llewyn Davis,? Carey Mulligan was admittedly a little too lax.
During her interview on ?The Graham Norton Show,? the ?Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps? babe confessed she was a little tipsy when she made a video to send to the studio on her mobile phone.
?I was so excited so I did the audition after a dinner where I had had a few drinks. My American accent is better after a few drinks and then I decided to eat something - it works for Brad Pitt, who eats all the time in films. It was a really drunk audition. Thank God, I didn't send it.?
Carey also recalled her audition for ?The Great Gatsby?- ?It was daunting. It was really scary. Daisy has to kiss Gatsby but you don't just kiss Leonardo DiCaprio. We were halfway through the scene and I was close to his face but had to ask the director if I should kiss him. He said yes, so I just did it and I got the job. That's how you get a job.?

The Crone Period: ?At this particular moment in time, the last thing on Mrs. Travers?s mind is her erotic life, but she did divide the life of women into three main parts: nymph, mother, and crone. When she went to Los Angeles to meet with Walt Disney, she was definitely in the crone period, which she felt was the best patch because you were free to do what you liked and still had energy to do it. She was actually older than I played her ? we all had long conversations about it, because I could?ve easily played her more elderly with prosthetics and padding ? but I was interested in making sure the audience realized that this woman did have an erotic life, and that it could still be a part of her life, but she had chosen to live alone. She was completely independent, and it was her independence that, in the end, forced her to give up her character, Mary Poppins, for adaptation.?

Feeling a connection to the LGBT community: ?I always have, perhaps because I?ve always felt like an outsider. I believe that actors and anyone in the arts should be outsiders, so that we can say whatever we want and hold a mirror up, as Shakespeare says, to what?s really going on in the world. We shouldn?t be within the pale of polite society. It?s a disaster that actors have become so respectable.?
Her gay influences, a gay uncle and two gay godfathers: ?Yes, I was brought up, partially, by these remarkable, intelligent, wonderful men, and they made me consider and question all moral systems from a very young age. They were the reason I rejected Christianity outright, because it said that homosexuality wasn?t allowed. I thought, That?s ridiculous! It?s perfectly normal, so what do you mean it isn?t allowed??
Her loyal gay following: ?Oh, and I love it. It?s a source of great pride and happiness. That support is very supportive, and my support in return is so profound and real.?
On Hugh Grant describing her as a ?bloke?: ?Well, I find that terrifically difficult stuff. Look, in a sense, he was trying to express approval, but what?s wrong with being feminine? What is he actually saying? The problem is that men have extreme difficulty with powerful women, who will immediately be dubbed masculine. I don?t accept that. I want to be allowed to be a powerful woman without being told that means I?m like a man.?

I?ve been told I have a dude?s sense of humor, that I write, talk and think like a man. I consider myself feminine and I don?t actually want to be a man either, like Emma.

It seems not even Oprah will be able to save LiLo?s lost soul. Lindsay Lohan has delayed filming of her reality series on Winfrey?s OWN cable network. The show chronicles the trainwreck movie star?s alleged road to recovery. And now producers have raised concerns that the show won?t be completed on schedule, sources tell Confidenti@l.
The ?Herbie Fully Loaded? actress signed on for the eight-part reality show after leaving rehab last August, but we hear she has been difficult to work with.
?She never does what she says she is going to do. She cancels all the time and is highly erratic,? says our production source.
?It has been frustrating to work on this project from the start,? says our insider. ?It?s all about Lindsay and it is clear she has no respect for the crew.?
LiLo granted her first interview to Oprah last August, just days after being discharged from Cliffside Malibu, a ritzy drug and alcohol rehab facility known for catering to the rich and famous.
A major element of Oprah?s big get included a reported deal worth about $2 million for LiLo to star in the uplifting reality series.

I had cast Oprah as the ?true believer? in second chances, the one person willing to take a gamble on a crackhead, and I was sad that Oprah was going to end up so disappointed. But now? I kind of think Oprah is just in it for the cash grab. She?s just as bad as Dina Lohan ? trying to squeeze the last drops of fame, use and money-making potential out of the Cracken.

I feel sorry for Anne Hathaway a little bit. She?s been on vacation in Hawaii with her husband Adam Shulman and some friends all week, and all week, the paparazzi have been photographing her. I mean, it?s not intrusive to the level where the paps are, like, getting photos inside her hotel room or anything. But whenever Annie and Adam leave their hotel for some beach-wandering, some swimming or some eating, the paps are there.
So, here are some highlights from Annie?s vacation, which very much looks like a second honeymoon. Adam and Annie taking leisurely walks on the beach. Adam and Annie chowing down on some good grub. Annie and Adam going for a swim. Annie playing with a friend?s baby. Annie almost drowning, then coming ashore with an injured foot. Adam bandaging her hurt foot (it looks like she maybe cut a toe on a jagged rock or something?) and kissing the boo-boo to make it better. Annie and Adam kiss and stare at the ocean.
It all seems so nice, honestly. Almost wholesome. And I swear, this is the most attractive I?ve ever found Adam Shulman. When he?s all windblown and scruffy, he?s must better looking. I kind of see why Annie married him ? she wanted to marry someone who would not only carry an emergency medical kit to the beach, but who would happily bandage her toe on a beach and kiss the boo-boo.

Sarah Jessica Parker covers the February issue of InStyle Mag. Isn?t this a horrible cover? I was watching some old episodes of Sex & the City over the holidays, remembering how SJP really was one of the ?It Girls? of the late 90s and early aughts. She was very striking and sexy in the SATC TV show. In the movies, something had changed. It seemed like SJP was still being styled as a girlish 30-something, when I wanted to see her switch it up and show some personal growth. Which brings me to a larger point: does SATC still speak to you? Or did it belong to a certain time and place and there?s no going back (or for that matter, forward)? Do Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha only exist in a certain SATC dimension from a decade ago?
These are the questions I asked myself when I chanced upon some quotes from SJP?s InStyle interview. She was asked about the possibility of a THIRD Sex and the City movie, which happens every time SJP is interviewed. We?re not the only ones who can?t move on, and to her credit, SJP almost always takes the question and properly reflects on it. She?s even said (in a general way) that she would be open to a third film if everyone else is too. But in this InStyle interview, she makes it sound like the third film is probably going to happen. NOOOOOOO.
On a third SATC film: “A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell. But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”
On age appropriate fashion: ?People should dress the way they want. Any rules for age or shape are silly. If you walk out the door feeling good about yourself, that?s what counts.?
On her words to live by: ?The Golden Rule ? do unto others as you would have them do unto you ? that?s my religion, my dogma. As soon as my son could recite it back, I?d repeat it to him.?
On her success: ?The real success happened after I was grown, and that saved me. I was appreciative of all of it, and continue to be ? my gosh. I don?t think my success has ever defined me; it?s just this thing that I carry around and then shepherd in a hopefully graceful way, you know??

Apparently, Kristin Davis is up for a third film too ? she recently told Haute Living that ?there is discussion? amongst the ?players? of SATC. But! Cynthia Nixon recently said that ?it?s fine to let it go? regarding the SATC franchise. And I suspect Kim Cattrall has moved well past it, don?t you? At this point, I would say that Nixon and Cattrall will flat-out refuse, but Kim might come on if there?s a huge paycheck. Cynthia won?t though. She doesn?t give a s?t. Good for her.
Granted, there is part of me that thinks ?well, they keep making those stupid Fast & Furious and Expendables movies, maybe the ladies should get a stupid SATC franchise too.? But really, the movies killed the franchise. The movies were so GD stupid.

So far, I?ve hated every campaign from Nicole Kidman?s collaboration with Jimmy Choo. This is her third print ad campaign thus far, and each campaign just gets worse and worse. At this point, I don?t even know why they hired Nicole Kidman. Why even hire a famous face to represent your shoe and purse line if you?re just going to make her look like a friggin? cartoon? I mean, Nicole already made herself look somewhat cartoonish with her marble-like face and overfilled lips, but it?s sad/weird that the Jimmy Choo Photoshop people were like, ?Hey, you know what Nicole needs? To be utterly unrecognizable in these photos!?
The idea, according to the fashion professionals, was for photographer Slve Sundsb to create a campaign ?inspired by the cubist movement.? Sure. Granted, I?m not an art history major, but this looks less like ?Cubism? and more like ?Photoshop disaster.?
Things I learned from these Choo ads:
*Even a famous beauty like Nicole looks completely creepy with Photoshopped doll legs.
*Nicole should never agree to wear pale orange lipstick. EVER.
*No woman looks appealing when you make her mons look like a Ken Doll?s sad, blank crotch.
*Nicole?s bolt-ons look sketchy from certain angles.
*Apparently, the height of fashion is ?looking dead-eyed and corpsey.? Noted.
*If you do this to the ?face? of your campaign, people aren?t going to be paying attention to the shoes and bags. I?ve seriously been staring at these images for 30 minutes and I couldn?t tell you what the bags and shoes looked like at all.

Kate Upton covers the February issue of V magazine. She’s styled as Bridget Bardot, and she mostly pulls it off. The mag’s website has some weird interactive slider where viewers can pretend to “undress” Kate with an overlay image. In reality, all of the hormonal dudes who run to the V home page in hopes of seeing a fully undressed Kate will be dismayed to find they’re only seeing her in lingerie. Silly rabbits.
The interview excerpts release so far aren’t earth shattering, but they will do. I like how Kate’s talking back to that rude Victoria’s Secret rep who called her a “page 3 girl” and “a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.” Let’s do this:
On getting dissed by a VS rep: “I had just gotten my cover of Sports Illustrated that day. I wasn’t used to that kind of media swirl. I had never met her, so it really came out of nowhere.” Kate says the snarky comments were her “introduction to being in the spotlight and having people you’ve never met have an opinion of you.”
On acting: She admits being “completely out of her league” starring alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in The Other Woman. “I make no bones about it,” she adds, “I just listened and paid attention.”
Her nickname for her rack “The ladies! Everyone brings them up, so I have to have something to call them.”
Why doesn’t she keep her clothes on? “Because I don’t want to!”

Kate’s obviously having fun with some really lame questions from the journo. We all know that she’s primarily a swimsuit model, so of course she doesn’t keep her clothes on. I think a certain magazine is trying to stir up some controversy where there is none. Kate is a cute, bubbly blonde who is willing to indulge male and female fantasies alike with her various shoots. Men love her, and (most) ladies don’t find her to be threatening. She’s also smart enough to tell us all she’s not a toy. Kate’s here to do her job, plain and simple.

So Bethenny wanted to prove how carefree and happy she is, and she may have done just that. Only the press has uncovered details of the guy’s past, and it’s not flattering. He’s Michael Cerussi III, he’s 34 and he works in the financial industry. He was also accused of rape while he was in college, in 2000. The charges were eventually dismissed in 2003. What’s more is that Cerussi is known as a player and his friends call him “American Psycho” after the rich, womanizing murderer that Christian Bale played. Friends of Cerussi think he’s using Bethenny to get famous. Here’s more, from Star Magazine:
“He has no intention of actually committing to Bethenny; that’s not who is is,” a close insider says of the successful financier. “Michael has more money and women than he knows what to do with, but one thing he doesn’t have is fame – and he knows Bethenny can give him that.”
While dating Bethenny, 43, has made the wealthy playboy instantly famous, it’s also dredging up his past – much to Michael’s displeasure. According to court documents, in November 2000, while a senior at Union College in upstate New York, Michael and a fraternity brother met a coed at a local bar, and both men had sex with her after bringing her to their fraternity house. The girl then claimed to the school’s disciplinary board that the two men had raped her.
The girl never contacted the police, but both Michael – who admitted to having consensual sex with the coed – and his frat brother were found guilty during a school hearing and expelled. Afterward, Michael brought a lawsuit against the girl, the school and its disciplinary board, claiming they had defamed him and asking to be reinstated at the school.
“Claims were made to the school, which were false and unfounded and ultimately withdrawn,” Michael recently told a news outlet. According to court documents obtained by Star, his lawsuit was dismissed in January 2003, a month after his attorney told the court that the parties were “diligently negotiating” a settlement of the case.
Ironically, Michael’s pals have nicknamed him American Psycho, because his lifestyle resembles that of Christian Bale’s egomaniacal, womanizing character in the film of the same name (minus the homicidal tendencies, of course). “All Mac cares about is wild parties and seducing women,” says the pal. “He goes out three to four nights a week and works out at the gym six days a week. Everything about him screams luxury, from his expensive clothes, his facial cream and haircuts to his car and property.”

The Star article is well worth reading for more, including details of how Bethenny met Cerussi, at a bar, and how she had a rival for his affections at the same time. The way their witness describes it, Bethenny was all over the guy and acting territorial while he was flirting up a storm with another woman.
Meanwhile In Touch has a similar story, claiming that “Mac” is “loving the attention he’s getting for dating Bethenny.”
I hope that this guy isn’t a rapist for a Bethenny’s sake. But I really wouldn’t care much if he has no intention of getting serious and is just using her to get famous. Isn’t she using him, in a way, too?

She's fresh out of inpatient mental health treatment and Amanda Bynes is already experiencing a good start to her 2014.
The former Nickelodeon star and prosecutors have come to a resolution regarding her criminal case in which she allegedly threw a bong out of her NYC apartment window.
With the evidentiary issues and the 27-year-old actress's well-documented treatment, law enforcement sources tell TMZ that tomorrow in court the charges will eventually be thrown out by Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal.
If Amanda stays out of trouble and continues therapy for the next six months, the charges will be formally dismissed and the case sealed.
With her legal woes wrapping up, Ms. Bynes hopes to get a fresh start with a whole new venture. She has just enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for the winter quarter.
