Kicking off the New Year with a boost of bona fide girl power, Miranda Lambert is featured on the January 2016 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.
The CMA Awards? Female Vocalist of the Year shares her experience as a woman in her industry- "I just love what I do so much. I love songwriting and the road and the family of country music. I love being a female in country music and lifting up other females of country. I'm more in it right now than I ever have been."
As for her views on marriage following her divorce from Blake Shelton, Miranda muses, "We were together for 10 years, married for four, were very quickly divorced, and are friends. I'm still processing everything and figuring out where to go and what happened. [Marriage is] a tough business, and we gave it our best college try ? If I ever were to get married again ? which is completely not on my radar at all right now ? I feel like it's not about it being a step in life. It's not about a piece of paper or a diamond. It's the way you feel about somebody and the commitment in your heart."

Here is Kylie Jenner channeling her sister Kim Kardashian in her Interview magazine cover story with a racy photo shoot, including exposing her derriere.
?I wake up every morning with the worst anxiety,? she admitted in the magazine.
I appreciate that the fault lies with the photographer rather then the model but the stupid wigs/make-up/sex doll idea rob these shots of any real eroticism. And forgive my sensitivity, but as someone whose niece is in a wheelchair, to put this spoilt, entitled person in a gold-plated wheelchair for a photoshoot is just fucking pathetic

| Kylie Jenner's Interview Magazine editorial: disturbing, gross, stupid or fine' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I always forget that Kylie Jenner is a ?model? too, just like Kendall. Kylie?s ?modeling? career is a bit more hit-or-miss, although she has walked a few runways and more than that, she gets hired to do utterly random magazine editorials. Kylie covers the December/January issue of Interview Magazine and the Steven Klein editorial is? um?ah? well, it?s not good. Let?s start there. Kylie shows off her butt (implants) in some of the photos, and she?s wearing a Jackie Kennedy wig in all of the photos. I think the point of the editorial is supposed to be that Kylie is a ?doll,? because of course that?s never, ever been done before. The wheelchair photos in particular are somewhat disturbing ? like, are wheelchairs the new ?fashion trend??
You can see the full editorial & read the interview here at Interview. Just FYI, reading a two-page interview with Kylie is like watching paint dry. She?s a vapid, superficial, barely literate 18-year-old with very little to say. Some highlights:
She?s not, like, materialistic: ?What I think is so amazing about having everything, and feeling like I have everything, is that I don’t really find happiness within materialistic things. Like, it’s cool if I can buy myself a new car, and I think it’s amazing for a week, but then the thrill is over, and I’m like, “Oh, so I guess that wasn’t really happiness.” I’ve realized through the years that I just find happiness in other things, whether it’s my dogs or my friends or, like, looking at the sunset. So if I were to wish for something else, it would just to be happy all the time, to have a superpower of not letting things affect me, and to be true to who I am, always.?
She reads the comments: ?I always just try to stay sane and not read comments. It’s hard though. You get interested. I’m young and I’m a girl, so, when I post something, I want to see what people are saying or what they think of my photos. I’ve found it better if you don’t read anything and you just always stay off that track. I’m just trying to not lose myself through this process, because I feel like I’ve already lost parts of me, like, my youth.
She feels like she?s 35? ?I feel like I’m going to look back and be like, “Damn, I wish I could’ve just been a kid and done normal teenage stuff that my friends get to do.” But it also is a blessing, and I’ve done so many things that most 35-year-old women still haven’t done. You can look at anything glass-half-full or whatever. Like, yesterday I realized that I’m 18, I’m a female, and I have accomplished so much. I live in a beautiful home and I work really hard, so I’m just grateful.
She?s not going to college: ?I’m not going to college. I have done everything to prepare for college, so if I wanted to in the future, I could go at any time. But I’m not planning on going anytime soon. [voice heard in the background] Kim just said, “Good girl!”
[From Interview Magazine]
Not only is youth wasted on the young, but money is wasted on people who have no interest in making larger contributions to society. In the Kardashian-Jenner family, an 18-year-old is praised for NOT going to college. She?s held up as an example of a person who ?works hard? and has something to say about life. Ugh.

| Kaley Cuoco spent her 30th birthday in a Mexican tiger & jaguar sanctuary | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco celebrated her 30th birthday on Monday and, from what we can gather, she’s reached this milestone with an optimistic outlook for her future, on the heels of her recent breakup with hubby Ryan Sweeting. She posted a photo taken at the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation?s sanctuary in Mexico on her Instagram account with the caption, “best birthday ever!” She went on to say, ?Today was the best birthday I have ever had…Thank you for all the love and best wishes…My heart is overwhelmed with joy and complete contentment. There have been a few bumps along the way, but thank you God, nothing I can’t handle.? The animal-loving actress was joined on the trip by 12 of her BFFs, including her sister, Briana Cuoco, who turned 27 on Sunday and Bachelorette alum Ali Fedotowsky.
The actress ended her two and a half year marriage to tennis pro Ryan back in September, amidst allegations of his substance abuse. She made quick work of eliminating all traces of Ryan from her life, including removing all of their photos together from her Instagram account and covering up the back tattoo of her wedding date with what some are calling a butterfly, but as Kaiser pointed out it definitely is more moth-like (and kind of ugly). At least my regrettable tattoo isn’t as specific as my wedding date – who still gets tattoos dedicated to the “love of one’s life”? Especially in Hollywood, where true love never seems to last. Have we learned nothing from Johnny Depp’s “Wino Forever” tat?
According to E!, Kaley was able to bounce back from her failed marriage by surrounding herself with friends, animals and work – oh, and apparently by playing Adele’s “Hello” repeatedly. Celebrities! They ARE just like us! Well, not exactly. If she also ate an entire bag of Ore-Ida steak fries and downed a bottle of Prosecco every night, then she’d be a lot more like me handling a breakup.
Kaley’s had some tough times (in addition to the demise of her relationship, she got victimized during the nude picture hack last year) – so I kind of get it. But, I must admit it’s a teeny bit hard to feel sorry for her. She is on (inexplicably, to me, at least) one of the most popular shows on TV, making about $1 million per episode and she is a cute gal who seems cool enough. I do hope she enjoys her third decade on this planet.
2 planes, 12 best friends, one 30th bday, destination unknown = priceless ?

| Carey Mulligan on feminism: it feels 'like a new word, people are afraid of labels' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Carey Mulligan has done a decent job of staying away from controversy. It is not that she doesn’t have an opinion, she simply acknowledges that her opinion may not be your opinion. Carey is talented and wishes to be judged primarily on her merit as an actor. However, as she is promoting a movie called Suffragette, it is expected the bulk of her interviews will be on feminism. But what happens when your very famous co-star came out with nonsense statements on feminism while promoting a film on feminism? Well, you get to play clean up in the most judicious way you know how:
On American vs. English feminism: ? I?ve been between America and London with it and I don?t think the definition of feminism is different between the two locations. Recently, it has felt like a new word? People are afraid of labels and I think this year they?re starting to reclaim what the word originally meant, in a positive way that?s interesting.
On Jennifer Lawrence?s statement about pay inequality: I think it?s a good thing for someone like Jennifer to speak out; it means an awful lot to women. Sure, there?s been cynicism toward her speaking out and the fact that she makes a lot of money, but she is completely and selflessly rising above that. (The discrepancy) is inherently unfair and she has an enormous platform to speak out against it. Men in Hollywood look up to her because she is powerful. She?s using that platform to correct something that isn?t right. It?s a long overdue conversation and it?s admirable what she has done. This is an age-old issue that?s in every part of society.
On movies claiming female empowerment but aren’t: … young people today are bombarded with images that I didn?t have when I was growing up. There are some that pertain to female empowerment and others that do not. Young kids are looking to these characters as some sort of a role model…
[from Deadline.com]
I thought Carey was fantastic in Never Let Me Go and she surprised the hell out of me in Shame. I know we don?t know each other very well and I hope you won?t let this color your judgment of me but I liked her as Daisy in The Great Gatsby. Carey has been more outspokenabout her stance in the past. She came out strong on the Jennifer Lawrence question and makes a good point about a person in Jennifer?s position speaking up. It’s too bad she has to dance around the definition of feminism and false messages.
She does mention going to other countries with Suffragette and that it was not lost on her that young women need to be reminded not to take their right to vote for granted; this should have been the t-shirt slogan used to promote Suffragette instead of this.

| Katie Holmes covers Ocean Drive: 'I don't regret anything that I?ve done' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
It?s been said by many people that Katie Holmes gave up what was left of her personality when she escaped from Tom Cruise and Scientology. Like, she played that so brilliantly and her escape was so thorough and planned-out that she used up all of her personality/charisma/goodwill. Personally, I?m still rooting for her, and I also think her post-divorce ?low key? vibe is important to her. She has what she always wanted: a quiet life in NYC, raising her daughter her way and working occasionally. So I read Katie?s Ocean Drive cover interview expecting the same kind of blah, vanilla, nothing-much-there profile. And she surprised me. I?m not saying she?s the most charismatic person in the world or anything, but she really does show flashes of personality and there are a handful of interesting quotes and asides. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
No regrets: “I don’t regret anything that I’ve done. I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.”
Her normal life: “I have a very normal life, and I happen to work in an industry that is abnormal. Daily life, I take a train and cab; it’s just about getting from here to there, and I don’t care how I do it. I have to get there.”
Her cracked iPhone: ?I think most people have cracked iPhones. I?ve just been too busy.?
Her intense workout regimen: ?A little bit of everything?running, yoga, dance class, spin class. I try to fit as much in as I can without really stressing about it, and I always try to have a good time.?
What she eats: On the Ocean Drive set, Holmes enjoys a slice of pizza (no plate, like New Yorkers do) and Diet Coke and a soy latte. Salads and veggies were on special order, but she didn?t go near them. ?I try to be healthy and eat fruits and veggies, but I enjoy going out to dinner and having french fries like everyone else. And good guacamole.?
She loves NYC: ?What is wonderful about New York is there?s so many places that you can live here your whole life and never see, and there?s just so many hidden treasures. If you?re having a bad day, you just take a walk, and it?s not only that you see people who are having a worse day than you, it?s just that you?re in life. You suddenly can?t be stuck in whatever problem you?re in because you have to hail a cab or you have to get a subway ticket. There?s more than just you. And I think the harsh winters give you a little bit of character.?
She joined Instagram & Twitter: ?Some people post, like, 25 pictures a day; I post one a week. I had to get into the, you know, 2015.?
Her risky life: ?I don?t shy away from risks. I?m just interested in a lot of different things. I don?t even think of it as a risk; I think of it as something exciting and new. As I?ve grown up, I think that the harder you work the more successful you are. From what I have seen, the people at the top, they?re just constantly working and constantly surrounding themselves with other successful, like-minded creative people.?
Tabloid stuff: ?Since I started in the business, [tabloid journalism has] changed so much, and I feel that it?s very distracting from the work that people are putting in and are putting out,? says Holmes. ?There is such talent out there, and sometimes it?s distracted by reports and tabloids and media and that?s unfortunate. I wish the spotlight could go back on celebrating the talent and leave it at that.?
A potential Dawson?s Creek reunion: ?[Dawson?s Creek] was such a special time in all of our lives [but] some things are better when it stays the way it was. I would love to get together with everybody, [but] I?m not sure a reunion would be as fulfilling as what we all want it to be. I?m game for anything.?
[From Ocean Drive]
What strikes me is that Katie still feels like she?s starting over post-divorce. Like, even her career has been rebooted, with some old glitches. Her career really isn?t going gangbusters or anything, but I would imagine she could carve out a decent career as a film and TV character actress, you never know. I also get the feeling that she?s being boring on purpose ? she has her freedom, she has her daughter, and to protect her new life, her public persona is purposefully ?boring.?
