Last year, a model booker for Victoria’s Secret told the New York Times that they would never put Kate Upton in their catalog. They explained in not so kind words,
“We would never use Kate . . . She?s like a footballer?s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”
Fast forward to the other day when Victoria’s Secret used photos of Kate from a 2011 shoot for the back cover of their new lingerie catalog. These are confusing times we live in.
A source says VS didn’t give Kate a heads up that they were using the pictures. Add to the fact that they basically trashed her a few years ago and you can see why Kate would be a little pissed. She shouldn’t be though. I would take that catalog and shove it in that booker’s face. Then take a dump on his lawn.

Were you angry to see Jennifer shimmy down a fireman?s pole and to see her Chris Brown-looking back-up dancers stare at her shaking booty? Well, you might not have been offended (because this is pretty much the same performance she gave at the BMAs), but the UK viewers were pearl-clutching because Britain?s Got Talent IS a family show:
She was there to give an exclusive performance of her new single, but Jennifer Lopez gave the audience and viewers of Britain’s Got Talent a lot more than they bargained for as she took to the stage on Tuesday night.
The multi-platinum album-selling singer arrived on stage wearing a tiny black leotard that barely covered her famous derriere, and within moments both Twitter and viewer forums were awash with angry comments from BGT fans who were furious at the ‘inappropriate’ nature of her appearance.
And by Wednesday morning, broadcasting industry regulator Ofcom had been inundated with complaints from viewers who were unhappy to see such a raunchy performance on a family show.
A spokesperson for Ofcom told MailOnline: ‘Ofcom can confirm that it has received complaints about the Britain?s Got Talent broadcast last night, which we are assessing but not currently investigating.’
Fans of the show were left in shock as the superstar cavorted around the stage wearing little more than skimpy underwear, a bizarre fur bolero and thigh-high boots.

Here are some photos of the LA premiere of The East, that environmental-thriller starring Brit Marling, Patricia Clarkson, Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard. I?m just choosing to discuss the photos of Alex and Ellen because they are SO CUTE together. I still have no idea if they are actually together, if they are friends with benefits, if they?ve been secretly hooking up this whole time, or if they are just friends and he?s never put the p in the v. I don?t know. There are rumors about Ellen?s sexuality (as in, she?s only into ladies), but she?s never verified or confirmed anything and if ?rumors? were proof, everyone in Hollywood is gay.
Some backstory: soon after Ellen and Alex worked together on The East, they were spotted hanging out around LA. They took in a few games, they partied together, they seemed to get along. It was adorable because she?s so tiny (I bet she?s barely above 5 feet tall) and Alex is HUGE. He?s super-tall and he?s just the giant Viking. Anyway, the rumors about Ellen and Alex subsided a little until they were at SXSW in March, when once again they seemed rather couple-y. And Alex and Ellen traveled back to LA together and he carried her bags at LAX.
So, what do these photos tell you? They tell me that Alex and Ellen are close. They enjoy each other?s company. The base of their relationship is probably a substantial friendship. But I also think there?s some attraction going on somewhere. Look at his hand on her side ? obviously, he?s really tall and he?s having to reach down, but he?s almost touching boob in a lot of those photos. Huh.

Let me start off by admitting that I’ve developed quite a nasty little habit of giving the side eye to Johnny Depp, and perhaps things have grown a little too critical on my end. Most recently, I’ve given Johnny a hard time for obsessing over his food’s sugar, salt, and fat content while he chain smokes. There’s also the question of him as a 49-year-old man who’s made a fool of himself over a 20-something, big-chested blonde. I also think it’s quite strange that he intentionally goes to a lot of effort to ugly himself up by dressing in so many scarfs and layers, but I guess that’s just Johnny’s “style.” I mean, the dude accessorizes like no other, and he goes way overboard at times.
Now I feel the need to not exactly backtrack (because that would be lame) but to take a moment and acknowledge that Johnny has done something pretty cool. By all accounts and even though Johnny has truly transformed from indie rebel to complete Hollywood franchise sellout and also has the nerve to compare photo shoots to rape, every fan who has ever met the guy (including waiters and schoolchildren) says that he’s a really nice dude. Then there is this new story about Johnny setting up some homeless guys with jobs as extras on his new film set:
He is known for playing dark and complex characters on the big screen but Johnny Depp has shown off his softer side after hiring homeless people to play extras in his latest movie.
The 49-year-old Hollywood actor reportedly convinced the casting director of his forthcoming film, Transcendence, to employ two street sleepers after he spotted them in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“Johnny always likes to help out the community when on location,” a source told The Sun. “While scouting out the area around Albuquerque, he came across these two characters. He was straight on the phone to the casting director.”
Depp stars opposite Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Hall as Will in the sci-fi thriller. It is set to be released in cinemas in April 2014.
It is not the first time the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has helped the homeless. In 2011, he bought a hat from a person living on the streets to add to his vast collection of headgear.
However, the purchase is said to have put him in the doghouse with his partner at the time, Vanessa Paradis. “Vanessa was livid and told him the hats had to go or she would trash them,” an insider previously said. “But he’s way too fond of them, so he’ll move the bulk of the collection to one of their other homes.”

That last little tidbit is interesting, isn’t it? There’s a strange implication that Vanessa just had a major problem with Johnny’s hats, and that’s why their relationship must have crumbled. How silly. Anyway, good on Johnny. I won’t pick on him any more today … except to say that now I understand this particular hat.

Gisele Bundchen covers the July issue of Vogue Brazil, with a photoshoot by Mario Testino. Is it just me or is Testino + Gisele a perfect fit? I mean that partly as praise and partly as an insult. Testino tries to make his subjects look good for the most part ? I enjoy Testino?s work when he?s not photographing models. But his fashion photography often seems? bland. Uninspired. Completely predictable. Which is what Gisele?s photoshoots are like nowadays too. She?s always oiled up and scantily clad and Photoshopped. Her body always looks good, and I don?t have any problems believing that she has a great figure. But these photos don?t excite me in the least.
The only reason I gave these pics a second glance was because I wanted to see what was freaking me out about Gisele?s face. It?s her eyes (Photoshopped) and her jawline (Photoshop disaster). I bring this up because at a recent event (a launch campaign for BLK DNM), Gisele told Fashionista that she hates all of the Photoshopping these days:

Just last week, the BLK DNM designer helped launch Absolut?s new luxury vodka, Elyx, as its creative director, and threw a party for the drink?s first ad campaign, starring Chloe Sevigny, which he also shot. And last night, Lindeberg was feteing yet another celeb-fronted campaign he lensed?this time for BLK DNM, starring the incomparable Gisele (and her impressive rear end).
Like Sevigny, Gisele couldn?t stop gushing about Lindeberg at last night?s event. ?Look, I just love the way he [Lindeberg] sees women,? she said. ?I think he dresses them really well. He?s very real, he?s very authentic.?
In fact Lindeberg is so real, that the two decided to forgo any hair and makeup for the shoot?which they finished in two hours.
?I came in and I met him and I said ?this, guy he?s a very real, nice person. I want to do something with him,?? Gisele explained. ?And then he said okay we have two hours, let?s just do it now?no hair, no makeup and really real.?
It was a nice change of pace for the supermodel who said she?s sick of how unrealistic some fashion editorials and campaigns look.
?I loved his approach because I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn?t really happen anymore [in fashion photographs],? she said. ?I love that feeling of, you know, we are women, we are so different, our imperfections are what make us unique and beautiful. He gets that. He?s not trying to retouch you or put a pretty light on you. He?s not like ?you gotta look a certain way.? He?s like, ?you are you? so now I?m gonna just be here with a camera, so express yourself how you like.?

Ugh. I mean, I don?t flat-out BLAME Gisele for the editorial decisions to Photoshop Gisele (or any model) into oblivion. Those are the choices made by the photographers, by the editors and publishers of magazines, and even a model as powerful as Gisele doesn?t get much say in what is Photoshopped and what is not. But her words do stand in stark contrast to this Testino shoot which is a Photoshop Disaster. And it?s a bit rich for a model to complain about the Photoshopping when they?re making money off of editorial work, knowing full well that if they make a mistake or have a pimple or whatever, it can be ?fixed? in post.

LeAnn Rimes has a new interview with Us Weekly, but it?s not really anything we haven?t heard before. That?s what struck me about it, actually ? LeAnn has been using the same phrasing and justifications and explanations for months, like her publicist gave her a list of soundbytes to just use repeatedly. Stuff like: ?I was depressed and anxious, and I didn’t know how to process everything,? and ?I was? feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic,? and ?I’m gonna make mistakes but? I’m proud of who I am now.? We?ve heard variations on those themes for months.
And here?s what I never really thought about: do you think LeAnn ever truly felt ?pathetic?? Her actions were never those of a woman who doubted herself or felt depressed or pathetic. Her actions always belied her own confidence in what she was doing was right, that she deserved to have Eddie, that she wanted him and she was going to have him come hell or high water, no matter who else she destroyed along the way. And then after LeAnn ?got? Eddie, she behaved as a sore winner, flaunting her prize proudly and loudly, trying to shove her ?victory? in Brandi Glanville?s face. Whenever anyone called her out, LeAnn wept and cried? for herself. Because no one understood HER, because everything is always about her and her drama. So, yeah? this is just more of the same:
It wasn’t easy getting there, but LeAnn Rimes is finally — to borrow a phrase from the title of her third album — sittin’ on top of the world. She has a brand-new record, Spitfire; a devoted husband, Eddie Cibrian; and a healthier-than-ever outlook on life, love, and her own self worth, which she valued at next-to-nothing not that long ago.
Speaking to Us Weekly about her tumultuous journey over the last few years, beginning with her 2009 extramarital affair with Cibrian, the “Where I Stood” singer, 30, says she feels like she’s been on “an emotional roller coaster” recently. Last year, that roller coaster led her to seek treatment for anxiety and stress.
“I went in and took care of myself because I was stressed, I was depressed and anxious, and I didn’t know how to process everything,” she explains to Us of her decision to check into an in-patient facility in August 2012, noting that her “whole life has been out there for everyone to judge” since she was just 13 years old. “Going away was something I really needed to do.”
Writing and recording Spitfire helped her realize that, Rimes adds. Though in some ways it was a form of “intensive therapy” on its own, it also brought up some feelings she wasn’t prepared to face.
“I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record,” she tells Us. “There were a lot of things I didn’t even realize I was feeling…I needed to go somewhere and really process all of that stuff.”
“That stuff,” of course, includes the fallout from her affair with now-husband Cibrian. After Us Weekly broke the news of the Northern Lights costars’ tryst, Rimes hit bottom.
“I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic,” she says. (In fact, she uses some of those very words in songs on her new album. “Borrowed,” for example, looks into the darker moments of falling in love with a married man and includes lyrics like, “I don’t want to give you back.”)
These days, though, the country crooner is feeling settled and happy. “Sometimes it takes walking through those tough times to come out the other side stronger and wiser,” she explains to Us. “I’m gonna make mistakes as I move on in life, but that’s who we are, and I’m fortunate that I’ve grown a lot and I’m proud of who I am now…it’s a good place to be.
“I’m the strongest I’ve ever been,” she adds. “I’m the most honest with myself that I’ve ever been, I’m the most secure I’ve ever been about myself and my family, and I’m the most confident I’ve been in a really long time.”

If this is the most confident she?s been in a long time, then prepare yourselves for a rough ride. That means when LeAnn was making everything about her and her self-perpetuating drama machine, that was when her confidence was waning. Do you buy that? I don?t. I also don?t think LeAnn understands something very fundamental about the public backlash against her: it wasn?t just the affair and the ?homewrecking? ? it was how LeAnn behaved after she ?won? Eddie, with the Twitter trolling, whining and Single White Female-ing and much, much more. It was LeAnn trying to ?explain? and justify the affair that ruined her image more than the actual affair.

Dedicated to staying in top physical shape, Julianne Hough headed over to a fitness center in Los Angeles this morning (May 28).
The ?Footloose? flirt looked pretty worn out as she exited the Tracy Anderson Gym following a tough regimen of strength training and cardiovascular conditioning.
And though she has starred in a handful of films, Julianne told press that ?Safe Haven? was a big deal because it was the first one where she couldn?t rely on performance skills to get by.
Hough explained, "I left the dancing and the singing outside. I was really just blown away and blessed that I got this opportunity because my whole life I wanted to just entertain -- sing, dance and act -- and the fact that I got the opportunity to do that was huge.?
"For me, it was going to an acting coach and getting, I guess, more training. So I got to put my trust in him. The role was definitely a lot more heartfelt and personal."

Taking a much-needed break from her busy promotional schedule for "The Hangover Part III," Heather Graham hit the beach at Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday (May 28).
Showing off her beach bod, the "Boogie Nights" star sported a red bikini as she splashed in the surf with costar Ken Jeong.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, the 43-year-old actress spoke about how she didn't always grab male attention, explaining, "Well, in school I was very smart and in accelerated classes, so it was slightly nerdy. Also, I kind of dressed bad and was very awkward and shy."
Then, when she began acting, Heather shares, "I was very surprised when I first started acting that I was being sent on these auditions to play the attractive cheerleader type. So when I got to go in for those roles, I was pretty excited because it was very different from my high-school experience."

Things were a little rough for Leonardo DiCaprio at Cannes last week when reports came out that Cara Delevingne didn’t want to go up to his hotel room. Many, okay, I, hoped he was finally losing his touch. Turns out that’s not the case. Dammit. Says NYDN,
The ?Great Gatsby? star was snapped Sunday arriving back in Nice after watching the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix with German stunner Toni Garrn.
The couple and a group of friends then boarded a yacht for more fun in the sun.
?They?ve been getting quite close over the last week. There is definitely chemistry there,? said a source.
I don’t get it. Sure, Leo’s rich, handsome and a respected actor but I’m just like him. A handsome blogger who can order a mean McDonald’s extra value meal. C’mon, ladies. Give me your number.
