The ?Monster? actress exited the eatery all by her lonesome, though it was reported that she actually joined comedian/actor Seth MacFarlane for the outing.
Charlize is currently filming her new movie ?Dark Places,? based on the novel ?Gone Girl? by Gillian Flynn.
The film is a personal project for Theron, who at age 15, witnessed the violent murder of her father at the hands of her mother, who acted in self-defense.
?Everything changed for me that day my father died. Years ago I used to cover it all up and say he died in a car accident. I have now come to terms with it and have been able to move on. This was so long ago in my life and my life, my emotions and the pain are not stuck in this one event.?

Sweeting, 26, proposed on Wednesday, Sept. 26 — just a few days after the couple made their red carpet debut together over the weekend at a pre-Emmys bash and then at the Emmy Awards show itself in L.A. The CBS star was accordingly in a joyful mood on social media after accepting the proposal. “Flying high, I could literally touch the sky with you . . . ” she tweeted to her 1.6 million followers. On her Instagram account, she shared a snapshot with her mother Ashley and sister Briana. “A sweet celebration w my sweet soul sisters,” the caption wrote.
I’m glad she’s not rushing into things and has made an informed decision. Jesus, it takes me longer to pick a flavor of ice cream to buy at Von’s.

The ?2 Guns? gal looked fabulous in a black lace dress as she hammed it up for the paparazzi at Regal Cinemas LA Live in Los Angeles while her ?Magic? man flashed his cocky smile.
And it sounds like Robin had plenty to be happy about, given that his single ?Blurred Lines? has just scored the longest run at #1 on Billboard?s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Previously, Mary J Blige held the record with her single ?Be Without You? back in 2006, but now the Mighty Mr. Thicke has ascended the throne.

Miley Cyrus covers the November issue Canada’s Fashion magazine. This cover and preview are not promising, but the interview is interesting. Miley has busied herself this week by hiding from the paps in the backseats of cars after her latest crotchgate and bizarre Rolling Stone cover feature. She wants the attention, but she doesn’t.
Liam Hemsworth just walked the red carpet alone in NYC for a Hugo Boss event. Miley talks about Liam in this interview. She never mentions him by name, but Miley wrote one song on the Bangerz album about him. It’s a sad song about wanting “to leave someone.” She wrote on Valentine’s Day — a few weeks before Liam Hemsworth got in a car with January Jones. Hmm:
Her discerning taste in fashion: “I can go through so many clothes say ‘no, that’s not me’ right away. I’m so adamant and controlling and OCD about my work that I can scare some people–especially when it comes to clothes. I have a very specific style of my own and I think it is better to be stylish than trendy. I find vintage Celine or Chanel and mix it with athletic or vintage pieces makes a look modern and fresh. Vintage makes everything look punk.”
More on MTV’s VMA censorship: “I was trying to slap Robin’s ass but no one saw it! Believe me! MTV edited so much. They cut almost everything I did. I’m proud of that performance. On critics and competition:: “I feel like I’m in a different lane now. When it comes to critics, I have my blinders on and I don’t really feel like I have to compete with other pop artists. I never think, ‘oh this performance is going to make her look bad or out-shadow her’ either but if there is no competition, there would be no reason for any of us to show up to work. At an office, everyone is trying to be boss. Pop music is the same. What I wear adds a factor that other girls can’t compete with.”
Her VMA red-carpet outfit: “I found what I wore on the red carpet to the VMAs with Pharrell. It was a Dolce and Gabbana piece from 1992–the year I was born. He saw it and said, ‘you have to buy it.’ I think that outfit added a factor that the other girls couldn’t compete with. Pharrell says it’s not about what you’re wearing; it’s the way you wear it. That was a lesson I took to heart. I think it is important that I execute a look better than other people. Fashion is what separates me from everyone else.?

Do you notice how Miley keeps telling herself that her style “adds a factor that other girls can’t compete with“? It’s like when she says wearing white means she’s “on a whole other level of sh-t.” Oh and she always brings her own bag of accessories to shoots because stylists usually suck. The level of delusion here is amazing. She’s forgotten about the music and is only thinking about her style. I feel like she realizes her image is her only way of getting attention, so she keeps talking it up like she’s doing something truly valuable for society.
The stuff she says about Uncle Terry is ridiculous too. Of course Terry makes women look strong! Incredibly strong blow-up dolls.

I?m such a fan of The Edit. It?s the best online-magazine launch in a long time. The Edit is net-a-porter.com?s in-house magazine, and they almost always do a beautiful editorial job. This week?s cover girl is Eva Mendes and while the editorial is very striking, it?s giving me a weird vibe. Like, this is Eva?s ?Italian widow? pictorial. The vibe reminds me of The Godfather. Is it just me? And when you have a model like Eva, who is famous for having great hair, I don?t think you should give her this crazy bouffant thing. Anyway, you can read Eva?s full Edit profile here, and here are some highlights:
Her early days in Hollywood: ?At the beginning it was tricky ? I had to choose between paying the rent sometimes and having artistic integrity. [But] I?ve always worked with great people,? she adds diplomatically. ?I like taking advantage of my range.?
The Place Beyond the Pines: ?It was the first time I felt like I?d played a real person. When I saw the film, I thought, ?Oh my God, that?s a real woman with real struggles and torture behind her eyes’. That was big for me.?
She brought Ryan Gosling?s dog to the interview: A sign that their relationship may still be going strong can be found at the actress? feet: two sleeping dogs she calls ?my loves?, her regal Belgian Malinois, Hugo, and Gosling?s hulking mutt, George.
She wants to work with Almodovar: Working with Pedro Almodvar is next on her wish list ? she emailed the director to tell him so. ?I?d love to work with Penlope Cruz on an Almodvar film,? she says. ?Penlope?s kind of the greatest.? The director has yet to bite, but Mendes says, ?I believe in planting seeds. If you genuinely love somebody?s work, I think you should tell them.?
Her side-project with New York & Company: ?I?m particular about who I lend my name to,? she says. Before agreeing to it, she consulted her mother and sisters: ?Everybody was like, ?This is amazing!?? It will appeal to fans of Mendes? retro-chic style. ?It?s directly inspired by my closet,? says the actress, who loves body-flattering, vintage-print dresses. But she often makes a beeline for Goodwill stores. ?I think it comes back to not having the means to buy what you wanted. I?ve never grown out of being that girl.?

She doesn?t want to talk about Gosling: Mendes reveals that shooting has wrapped on How to Catch a Monster and that it was ?an incredible experience?, but that?s all she?ll say. ?I?m not trying to be cagey or protective,? she insists. ?But when I go through something that has such an impact on me, it?s tough for me to articulate.? When I broach the Mendes/Gosling relationship, she winces. ?I?m sorry. I?m shutting down,? she says, half apologetically. ?I?m such a weirdo. I literally lose my ability to speak ? and you were doing so well,? she adds.
Her protective bubble: I recount a recent report that she has told Gosling she wants to be married by the time she turns 40 and start a family. ?Oh, is that what they?re saying?? she replies, arching one of her eyebrows before explaining that gossip, like red meat, is not part of her diet. ?I live in a very protective kind of bubble that I?ve created for myself,? Mendes says. She shifts her gaze to Hugo, still sleeping at her feet. ?You know, he?s an attack dog,? she adds with a smile.

So basically when a journalist asks about Ryan Gosling, Eva coyly hints that she?ll sic her attack dog on the reporter? Classy. Why not a simple ?no comment?? It?s not that difficult. That?s my problem with so many of these ladies ? they work so hard to not even get the personal questions and it?s like they don?t even realize how easily they could deflect the personal questions themselves. Besides that, it?s not like Eva hates that we?re talking about her relationship with Gosling. Dating Ryan Gosling is the best career move she?s made in a long time! She wanted us to see photos of the two of them together. But it?s all a game. Blah. As for the Almodovar stuff ? she really reminded of Jessica Biel there. So much hustle and so little acting chops to back it up.

There was a time when Daryl Hannah was the hottest thing around. That time, my children, was the ?80s. She did a quick succession of interesting hit movies like Splash, Roxanne, Wall Street, Steel Magnolias, and one of my favorite films of all time, Legal Eagles. This was around the same time that she was dating John F. Kennedy Jr. I think they even lived together in NYC for several years too, but Jackie Kennedy basically told John-John that Daryl was not marriage material and so he broke it off and ended up with Carolyn Bessette. And you know how the rest of it played out.
Anyway, getting back to Daryl ? her career sort of faltered for a while and then she had a minor comeback (with Kill Bill) and then? not so much. It wouldn?t surprise me to learn that she still had a lot of friends in the industry, but it also wouldn?t surprise me to learn that many people who know her think she?s a bit wacky (in a harmless way). So? this makes sense, sort of. Apparently, Daryl is autistic?
Daryl Hannah has revealed that she was diagnosed with Autism as a child and struggled ‘debilitating shyness’ as a result of the disorder. Now 52, Hannah – who reached the very peak of her profession through roles in smash hits like Splash, Blade Runner, Wall Street and Steel Magnolias – is able to quietly manage her symptoms.
But as she rose through the Hollywood hierarchy it was a different story altogether.
‘I?ve never been comfortable being the center of attention,’ the stunning blonde – who dated John Kennedy Jnr. – star told People. ‘It?s always freaked me out.’
The Chicago reared beauty said at times her shyness would become so overwhelming that she would rock back and forward constantly.
‘I?m a grown up now,’ she told the magazine. ‘I?ve learned a couple of things that really would?ve made my life easier if I?d known them 20 years ago.’
Hannah, who became famous as a teenager, said that she concealed her autism from movie producers and refused to do promotional interviews or talk show appearances, ‘not because I was above it, but because I was terrified.’
She added: ‘I wasted so much time scared, self-conscious and insecure.’
Now the limelight has moved elsewhere, the comfortable star says her roles have changed but she’s happy. With a boyfriend of three years, a rescue pig called Molly and and a farm near L.A, her life has changed dramatically.
‘Life is too short to stress the small things anymore.’

I remember how she used to be, and I don?t think people called her snobby or whatever. Most people just thought she marched to the beat of her own drummer. I think she was considered sort of spacey hippie bohemian type. But the autism diagnosis is very interesting and it makes me reconsider her career and her past interviews. I?m guessing that she was diagnosed with one of the more manageable forms of autism, like Asperger?s Syndrome. You know who else has Asperger?s? Steven Spielberg. I always associate Asperger?s Syndrome with ?savant? qualities, but just as often, it can just mean extreme social and private awkwardness.
Though this is the first time I?ve ever heard about Daryl?s autism diagnosis, apparently she has referenced it before in a handful of other interviews.

This is some old gossip about celebrities we barely think about, but it’s mildly funny to me. Nick Carter, formerly of the Backstreet Boys, has published a new memoir called Facing the Music And Living To Talk About It. In his memoir, Nick covers his struggle with substance abuse and his relationship with Paris Hilton in 2004. They were together all of seven months. Nick has been sober for five years now, but he was deep in his addiction during his relationship with Paris. In interviews and in his memoir, Nick has said that Paris was an awful influence on him and called her “the worst person in the world for me to hook up with.” Paris has deigned to respond to Nick. She managed to shoot down his memory of what they shared, saying they only dated briefly, while bringing up the point that Nick was a rock star and that she wasn’t his only influence. She didn’t even deny that she was doing drugs at the time. Then she ended by wishing him well. Touche. Advantage Paris.
Paris Hilton is speaking out following Nick Carter?s claims that their relationship was unhealthy.
Access Hollywood spoke to the Backstreet Boy about Paris, who wrote about the socialite in his book, ?Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It.?
?It is what it was. I was with someone who wasn?t good for me at the time. I might not have been good for her at the time,? he told Access of the former reality star.
In his book Nick wrote, ?Paris was the worst person in the world for me to hook up with.?
The 33-year-old singer also told Access, ?We had the partying in common. It just is what it is. That?s life. You go through, you have exes and you have past situations. But I don?t fault her for anything.?
On Wednesday, Paris ? who dated the singer in 2004 ? responded Nick in a statement to Access.
?I don?t believe I was a negative influence on Nick, we dated for a very short period of time almost 10 years ago and when we met he was already a successful pop star, I?m pretty sure that was the only thing influencing him at the time. I?m glad he got help for his problems and wish him all the best,? the 32-year-old said.

In 2007, a storage locker was found with a ton of Paris Hilton’s personal effects. Among them were love letters between Paris and Nick that were pretty amusing and personal of course. They poured their hearts out to each other, and both declared their love. While Paris may be like “meh it was ten years ago and lasted a split second,” Nick may remember the intensity of what they shared. I’m just saying it sounds like he’s still a little hung up on her. Maybe I’m wrong though and he’s using Paris for publicity for his book, which would be a decent strategy five years ago. And as much as it pains me to say it, Paris’ statement is superb. Maybe her PR person wrote it, but she doesn’t sound bitter or defensive, just realistic.

I honestly don’t know what’s going on with Rihanna. These are photos of RiRi looking pained while performing at a Sunday post-Grand Prix concert in Singapore. She’s wearing an oversized t-shirt that may or may not be themed for the race. Whatever the case, it’s not a flattering look, but Rihanna hasn’t been much for flashing the flesh lately. I definitely noticed last month when she started dressing down and stopped begging for attention. One of the comments to said post joked how Miley Cyrus might have scared the pants back onto RiRi. It’s possible.
Anyway, Rihanna was slammed for forgetting words to her own songs in Singapore where she seemed “high.” (Higher than usual?) She’s in Australia right now where she earned terrible reviews for her Wednesday show. Supposedly RiRi acted “disinterested,” slurred her words, and ignored her own singles in favor of “that reggae sh-t.” All of which made for an unimpressed and “bored” audience. These reports come on the heels of RiRi’s gross tweets about going out to an adult club in Phucket where strippers shot darts out their hoo-has.
Rihanna is set to appear on the 100th episode of Alan Carr’s crazy-ass Chatty Man show (Channel 4 in the UK). Maybe she pre-taped the episode since she’s on tour. RiRi claims to be done with the party scene. She also says she doesn’t get laid. Hmm:
She’s tired of clubbing & partying: “Recently I’ve become a square. I hate partying. I don’t know if it’s my heels — I don’t like standing up in my heels for hours. I don’t know if it’s that, but I’ve been so bored of it. I don?t know if it’s because it’s the same music every night — maybe we need some more DJs.”
Never say never: “I love what I do and I’ve got a lot to celebrate. So you’ll catch me celebrating every once in a while, because I work hard.”
She’s not getting any action these days: “I am such a bootleg rock star, I do nothing, literally. ‘?m embarrassed to say that actually. That’s so disgusting. That’s f—ing pathetic. I tell you, I?m a bit of a square recently. Don’t feel bad for me, I’m good.”

What I'm gathering from these quotes is RiRi basically sits around hotel rooms and gets baked. More baked than usual if her shows are any indication. I guess this is preferable to landing in the hospital after the Met Gala. It's also been about a year since she trashed a nightclub and pulled the "Don't you know who I am?" card. I guess baked Rihanna seems preferable to drunk RiRi.
As for Rihanna's claims of never getting any action, that's probably true while she's on tour. I never know whether Rihanna is off or on with Drake. She was rumored to have been dating A$AP Rocky (and kisses him in his new video), but who knows.

I was going to say that these are the first photos we?ve had of Jessica Simpson since she gave birth to Ace Knute, but I completely forgot that she posed for baby?s first photos for Us Weekly back in August ? go here to see that cover. But these are some of the first paparazzi photos I?ve seen of Jessica in months. She went to dinner with Eric and Maxwell on Tuesday. I kind of like her bag! I wonder if it’s designer or a bag from her line?
Jessica gave birth to Ace less than three months ago, and as you can see from these photos, she hasn?t really lost the baby weight. Which is normal! I?m not judging her. I?ll merely note that Weight Watchers is probably judging her though. She?s still under contract with Weight Watchers, despite getting knocked up for a second time just months after giving birth to Maxwell Drew. Her body has been through a lot in the past two years and personally, I think she looks pretty great for birthin? two babies, one right after the other. Her boobs look good (I?m assuming she?s nursing) and her hair and skin look great.
Last week, Us Weekly claimed that Jessica and Eric Johnson were planning to get married next May in Capri, Italy, but Gossip Cop?s unnamed source claims that ?no plans? have been set. Sounds like they were considering a Capri wedding but they?re also considering other stuff too.

I kept thinking that she would get knocked up right away just to firm up her new Suzy Homemaker image, but that hasn?t happened. Which surprises me ? and I bet it surprises Ryan Reynolds too. Anyway, since no one is sending Blake any scripts, she?s decided to do the same thing Gwyneth Paltrow decided to do when she stopped getting good scripts: launch a ?lifestyle? brand. Yes, Blake Lively is going Full Goop.
Blake Lively is launching her own company, and this time it has nothing to do with acting.
“It’s something that will be launching in a few months and that I’m really, really thrilled about. The main element of it is that it’s about storytelling and it’s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There’s nothing like it out there – it’s without a genre,” Lively told us. “I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don’t utilize when acting. Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn’t be an actor.”
Lively says that she has had the opportunity to branch out into new projects since she finished filming Gossip Girl just under a year ago, and took part in Gucci’s “amazing” Chime for Change concert this year as well as continuing as the face of the fashion house’s Premiere fragrance. But fans of her work needn’t worry, it certainly isn’t the end of her acting career.
“A lot has changed for me in the last year! I got married, I finished Gossip Girl after six years, I had my first break in a while and I’ve been working on this company? it has been nice to have a separation from my show. The first film I did coming out of Gossip Girl, I wanted it to be different from anything I’ve ever done but also representative of where I want to go, because now I’m in a different place,” she told us.
“When I was doing Gossip Girl, I had these short breaks where I could play a character on weekends, but there’s a movie I’m really excited about that I’ll be doing this winter and one of the most enticing parts of it is that it spans from the 1900s until now. The fashion is amazing, and my character gets to experience all of the different time periods and tell the story through fashion. It’s not a movie about fashion, but it’s an integral part of who she is and the whole story.”

WTF? No seriously? WTF is she talking about? ?The main element of it is that it’s about storytelling and it’s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There’s nothing like it out there – it’s without a genre.? So, basically, she?s launching some kind of squishy lifestyle brand that will teach people how to live like Blake Lively? Sure, that?s ?one of a kind,? but let?s not pretend that ?it?s without a genre.? The ?genre? of lifestyle branding/aspirational living stuff has been around for a LONG time, chica. At best, this will be a knockoff of Martha Stewart. At worst, it will be a really budget version of Goop.

Did Nina Dobrev speak too soon? The Vampire Diaries actress told Us Weekly earlier this year that she’s in “no rush” to get into a new relationship, but the stunning gal seems to have found herself a new man a lot sooner than she’d anticipated — and it’s none other than BFF Julianne Hough’s older brother Derek!
“[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek’s sister Julianne,” a source tells Us. “Then she fell for him.”
Dobrev, 24, split with her beau of three years, Ian Somerhalder, in May of this year, and has since been vocal about her desire to focus on other things.
“I’ve been a relationship girl and I’ve been in long-term relationships my whole life until this point, so I think I’m looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again,” she told Us during Cosmopolitan’s Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug. 10. “I’m just discovering different sides of me and growing and then I’ll figure out what I like in a man when I see it.”
And it seems as though the CW actress is already smitten with her new man. In a post to her WhoSay account on Monday, Sept. 23, Dobrev captioned a shot of the 28-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro with his Outstanding Choreography Emmy with a heartfelt message.
“Those of us touched by your light got to watch you brighten up the rest of the world,” she wrote. “Keep shining!”
Hough has similarly fallen head-over-heels for the actress, another insider tells Us.
“Derek is smitten with Nina,” the source says. “He said he hasn’t felt this way for a girl in a long time. ?Everyone approves!”
At the Kari Feinstein Emmys Style Lounge on Thursday, Sept. 19, the smooth dancer specifically requested shoes “for his girlfriend” and then “texted Nina for her size,” an eyewitness tells Us.

They’re already saying ‘I love you.’” Well, that IS fast. But Nina is pretty young ? she?s 24 years old to his 28 years. So I guess it makes sense. So is this a rebound thing, something temporary for Nina before she either gets back with Ian Somerhalder or someone higher up on the Hollywood food chain? Or is this something real? I don?t know.
