Despite her recent divorce drama with Robin Thicke, the ?Baggage Claim? babe looked fabulous as she hobnobbed with fellow celebrities before heading inside to catch all the star-studded action.
The Spirit Awards has carved out a nice little niche amidst the dozens of other such events this time of year by celebrating artist-driven filmmaking and recognizing the finest achievements of today?s independent filmmakers.
As for the coveted Best Feature trophy, the nominees include ?12 Years a Slave,? ?All is Lost,? ?Frances Ha,? ?Inside Llewyn Davis? and ?Nebraska.?

Finding plenty of French fans, Scarlett Johansson attended the 2014 Cesar Film Awards in Paris on Friday (February 28).
The "Her" star received the honorary Cesar trophy by Quentin Tarantino as she took the stage in a chic blazer, black pants, and sparkling diamond necklace.
Upon accepting the award, the 29-year-old actress told the audience, "I?d like to thank France and the city of Paris itself for embracing me and welcoming me into the family. There isn?t a day that I spend here that I?m not deeply, deeply touched by the beauty of this city and by the integrity of its people. Thank you to my partner Romain, who inspires me every day and who teaches me how to appreciate France and French culture in all its deliciousness.?
Unfortunately, Scarlett missed out on Oscar nominations this year as her vocal performance in the Spike Jonze film was ruled ineligible for the Best Actress category.

This isn?t really a ?pre-Oscar event? but we finally got the photos in, so I thought we should discuss it. As it turns out, Kim Kardashian really was accosted by a ?comedian? wearing blackface at the Vienna Opera Ball. Like, she was telling the truth and there are photos to prove it. Does that make me feel differently about Kim? I mean, she was still at the Opera Ball as an escort, because she was getting paid $500,000 by Richard Lugnar. So, it?s not all ?poor Kim.? But I think we can give her a pass on freaking out when a comedian in blackface came up to her and started screaming that he was Kanye West. THAT is extremely offensive.
We have all of these photos now from the Opera Ball, and it seems like ?comedian Chris Stephan? wore blackface to the ball and posed for photos and everything. According to TMZ, Chris has already issued an apology on his Facebook. TMZ says: ?Chris Stephan — a stand-up comedian in Austria — just posted the apology on his Facebook, saying he’s ?incredibly sorry? things unfolded the way they did. He says he’s of Arab descent himself, and never intended to be racist.? Wow, Austria has ?accidental racists? too.
Oh, and here?s the moment (THIS WAS ON CAMERA) when some dude ?joked? that he was going to dance when they played ?N?gas in Vienna?. As in, he actually dropped the n-word in front of Kim and Kris Jenner. Lucifer?s Homegirl laughs like it?s funny but Kim?s Botox-face is all ?Jesus take the wheel.?
Why was this event such a catastrophe? Even people who loathe the Kardashians have to admit that this is nowhere near Kim?s fault. It?s like all of these people were like, ?OMG, she?s engaged to a black guy, let?s be crazy-racist about it, for jokes.?
Also: Lucifer?s Homegirl is incredibly smug in these photos. It?s like she thinks SHE is getting $500,000 to be an escort. Either that or she?s so proud that she raised a daughter worth $500,000 for a night. And as I see more angles on Kim?s dress, I hate it even more. Kim needs to learn how to wear clothes in her real size.

Mary-Kate Olsen is only 27 year old but has led a very strange life so far. We all know how she and Ashley spent their childhood and teen years. Mary-Kate went off the rails a bit in young adulthood. She dropped out of NYU, started taking up with Greek shipping heirs (who also dated Paris Hilton), and went to rehab for an eating disorder. After all of that drama, Mary-Kate and Ashley built a respectable career in fashion. Even though The Row is crazy expensive, it’s also crazy successful. I’ve already praised them for creating all of their clothes domestically. The twins do not use sweatshop labor, and that’s a big step for fashion.
Anyway, Mary-Kate hooked up with Olivier Sarkozy (the half-brother of Nicolas) in early 2012. She was 26, and he was 43 at the time. His ex-wife immediately labeled the romance “grotesque,” which is understandable. Not only is MK 17 years younger than her boyfriend, but she still looks like a 17-year-old girl. She probably always will look much younger than her true age. MK and Olivier moved in together in late 2012, and she was seen shopping solo for engagement rings late last year. Now the weird couple has announced their engagement:
Think Ashley will be maid-of-honor? Mary-Kate Olsen is engaged to marry her boyfriend of nearly two years, French banker Olivier Sarkozy, sources confirm exclusively to Us Weekly.
Olsen, 27, and Sarkozy, 44 — half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy — first stepped out together in 2012. Since then, they’ve been a frequent presence at basketball games in New York City, where they live together in a $6.25 million townhouse.
This will be the former Full House star’s first marriage, and Sarkozy’s second. He was previously wed to Charlotte Bernard, with whom he has two kids, Julien, 12, and Margo, 10.
“Mary-Kate has made him a better father. She remembers all the kids’ special events,” a source previously told Us of the husband and wife-to-be. “She thinks he’s a great dad.”
Her loved ones have a pretty high opinion of him, too. “Mary-Kate’s family thinks Olivier is the best thing to happen to her,” an insider tells Us. “They love him.”
Incidentally, the fashion designer’s twin sister, Ashley, is also dating an older man. Following her split from David Schulte, she has been spending time with Moneyball director Bennett Miller, who is 20 years her senior.

I thought I’d have a problem with this, but surprisingly, I’m okay with it. This isn’t a situation of a wide-eyed starlet hooking up with some older dude for his money. It’s also not a situation of some guy getting with Mary-Kate because she’s so rich herself. Both MK and Olivier have their own money (he’s a successful banker), and he is the one who paid for their $6.25 million love nest. They are a low-key couple, and we haven’t heard any drama at all from them.

Here are some photos from the 5th Annual QVC Red Carpet Style event in Beverly Hills last night. It?s weird to me that QVC puts on a big pre-Oscar event every year, but it?s even weirder that they consistently get the best turnout of nearly any other pre-Oscar party. Let?s get to the fashion! First up: Kaley Cuoco. I?m surprised she didn?t bring Ryan Sweeting! Is this the first time that they?ve ever been apart?! As for her midriffy top and the matching skirt? on anyone else, I would have flat-out hated it. But it suits her, right? I think this is a solid look for her.
Nicole Richie? yikes. I mean? what is going on with Nicole? And what is going on with Giuliana Rancic too, incidentally? Every time I see those two women, it?s like they?re in a competition to see who can look the most skeletal. I worry about both of them. I know that sounds concern-trolly so go ahead and yell, but I think it?s weird that we can?t discuss it openly, considering they’re walking red carpets looking like this.
Yay, Stacy Keibler still gets invited to Hollywood events! I can?t say her budget styling has changed too much since she was with George Clooney. But I?m strangely happy to see her on a red carpet.
Kat Dennings. It?s a cute outfit, I guess? I feel for her, trying to make her huge rack look cute in the trendy clothes that are popular these days. I feel like she?s wearing a minimizer here.
Kate Mara… while this could have been an interesting dress on someone else, I?m not really feeling it on Kate, especially with her styling.
Jenna Dewan?s dress is strangely enchanting. I stared at it for a good five minutes feeling like the gold foil was going to eat the rest of the dress.
Elizabeth Rohm in Herv Lger. I don?t get why she went with this dress at all. She?s pretty, but this look is so dated.
When did Kristy Swanson become Laura Dern?! Only I would say Kristy Swanson looks prettier, actually.
I?m also including pics of Kendra Wilkinson (I keep forgetting she?s pregnant again), Gabourery Sidibe, and Jenna Fischer and her bump (she just announced her second pregnancy this month).

These are photos of Scarlett Johansson at last night’s Csar Awards in Paris, for achievements in French cinema. Scarlett was there with her French fiance, advertising executive Romain Dauriac. The two posed on the red carpet together and were seen holding hands inside the ceremony. This is the first time we’ve seen them pose at an event together, and they looked very much in love. He’s so pretty with all black suit and jaunty hair. Scarlett was in this Christian Dior pantsuit accessorized with Cartier jewelry and an awesome clutch. At first I thought the suit was all black, but brighter lit photos show that it’s a navy jacket paired with black pants. This works somehow, although I personally try not to pair navy with black. I’m not too fond of her styling with that tony pony but she’s so happy and relaxed that she pulls it off.
Johansson was given an honorary Csar, presented by Quentin Tarantino. Deadline has more details of the ceremony and a winners list if you’re interested. They mention that Tarantino said he “really wanted to vote for [for Scarlett] for Best Actress [at the Oscars] in Spike Jonze?s Her” but was “robbed of that satisfaction.” I just saw Her yesterday and I agree. Scarlett was so good in that voice-only role, as was Joaquin Phoenix as the writer who falls in love with Scarlett’s sentient operating system. I’m surprised that neither of them was nominated, although Joaquin kind of burned his bridges. I do think Scarlett should have received a nom.
E! lets us know that Scarlett, 29, is the youngest actress to receive an honorary Csar and that she “joins an extraordinary list of past Hollywood recipients, including Dustin Hoffman, Kate Winslet and Kevin Costner.” Scarlett currently lives in Paris and she said “thank you for giving me this cultural refuge” when she accepted her award. She’s previously called Parisians rude so it’s not like she’s always gushing at how much better it is over there.
Here are a couple of other attendees including Berenice Bejo in structural Maxime Simons (I don’t think this works), and Quentin Tarantino with his new girlfriend, Courtney Hoffman. She’s a costume designer who worked on Django and Magic Mike. That second one sounds like a dream job to me. She looks so young!
Also, I’m so sorry to have to say this, but Polanski got best director, for Venus in Fur. (I’m not including that pic.)

OH NOES. Here are some photos from last night?s event for ?The Rodeo Drive Committee Inducts Catherine Martin Into The Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style.? Yeah, I?m not sure what that means except that Cate Blanchett was there for her friend and fellow Aussie Catherine Martin. Catherine, like Cate, is up for an Oscar this year. Martin is nominated for The Great Gatsby ? she does the costumes on all of her husband?s movies (she?s married to Baz Luhrmann).
Anyway, for the event, La Blanchett wore this absolutely mind-bogglingly terrible Valentino gown. Can we even call this a ?gown?? Or is more of a re-worked tablecloth with FRINGE? Seriously, someone at Valentino was visiting their mom and they saw the mom?s tablecloth and they thought, ?OMG, fabulous.? I guess it?s supposed to have a southwest/prairie feel, but coming from Valentino, that just seems patronizing. I guess the good thing here is that it looks like Blanchett got her sparkle back. She had a bad few weeks but I?m glad she?s out and about and doing events for Oscar weekend.
I like Anne V?s dress more than her hair. She?s needs to do something different with the hair, for sure, but the dress is sort of like? bee-chic.
Here?s Georgina Chapman in one of her own Marchesa designs. Surprisingly, she doesn?t look too bad in this design. Of course, the dress does have that Marchesa cheapness look.
And here?s little Kiernan Shipka, always looking adorable and appropriate. She?s so stylish! I hope she got to meet Blanchett.

Hitting the streets of the Big Apple in the name of fashion, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the ribbon-cutting event for the launch of her SJP Collection today (February 28).
Greeting fans and posing for a few pictures, the "Sex and the City" alum sported a breathtaking black dress, accented by hundreds of bright Pink flowers, wearing her hair down low, and completing her look with a pair of hot Pink heels.
The down-to-earth 48-year-old's collection is to be sold exclusively at Nordstrom, and she also participated in an interview with Harper?s Bazaar?s Fashion Director, Avril Mair, saying, "I never wanted to be famous. And I won?t trade on it in any way. It?s not like it?s hard to be respectful and well behaved."
Keeping a level head by refusing to read into her own publicity, Sarah continued, "I don?t read anything. I don?t Google myself. Good God, no! I have absolutely no constitution for that. I?m curious about everything, except what people have to say about me. It?s the random cruelty I really don?t understand. It?s not good for us. I don?t know, you know, how we go back in time to a better place."
She is set to be the April 2014 cover girl of Harper's Bazaar, and regardless of what critics think of her, we can rest assured that Sarah's brand new fashion collection will meet with massive success in 2014!
