With a highly-anticipated new album on the way and a triumphant performance at the 2014 World Cup opening ceremony, Jennifer Lopez is taking her career to the next level.
The 44-year-old ?On The Floor? singer covers the latest edition of Billboard magazine and in her interview she declares that she?s not worried about impressing anyone anymore.
?I don?t feel like I have anything to prove anymore. And all these people who came a generation before this one and showed us that you don?t have to, as a young woman, have an expiration date. You can go on, and you can do what you want into your 60s and 70s and you can be powerful and be vulnerable and be human. And I think we?re just carrying that on. I?d like to think I?m part of the generation that?s carrying that on.?
Rather than feel the need to have everything planned out, J. Lo would rather take things as they come. ?I don?t know what I?m going to be doing in the next six months. I really don?t. And that?s OK for me. Because what I like is whatever happens is supposed to happen. And I?m good. I can roll with that.?
Furthermore, Lopez doesn?t regret the hard times she?s weathered over the years, as she?s come out a more well-rounded woman. ?Things have changed so much for me. I had to really do some soul searching and just realize a lot of things about love, and now I feel like I come from a place where I?m stronger and, I think, better.?

With the sexual assault and rape statistics on the rise on college campuses around the country, AnnaLynne McCord is gearing up to fight back.
After divulging her own experience with sexual abuse in Cosmopolitan magazine?s May 2014 issue, the ?90210? actress has announced she?ll tour universities this fall to speak on the tremendously important topic.
McCord told press, "I was in this state of denial and wasn't able to speak out until now. Eight years later, I'm finally at a place where I can talk about this and expose it, and hopefully show other survivors the support they need, because when we unite, we heal."
"The support has been amazing. You think in your head that the opposite is going to happen. You think that you'll be shamed and there will be even more degradation, humiliation. And the opposite has been apparent. But what's even more important than that to me has been the outreach from survivors who are telling me their stories."
Furthermore, AnnaLynne invites victims of sexual assault to reach out to her via email. "I will personally respond to every single one of them."
She added, "We're in a generation where the era is ? we have amazing technology. But unfortunately, what that technology is [doing is] dehumanizing us. Guys are objectifying women more now than ever before in life because they see you on a screen. They're seeing you send a picture, and you're an image on a one-dimensional device. But you're a three-dimensional human who has emotions and feelings."

Soccer fever has taken over most of the globe as the 2014 World Cup has kicked off in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull were in the house to get things started on Thursday (June 12).
Joined by Brazilian pop singer Claudia Leitte, the ?Waiting for Tonight? songstress and the ?Timber? rapper performed the official FIFA song ?We Are One (Ole Ola)? while fans looked on.
Unfortunately there were some technical issues that made it difficult to hear J. Lo and Pitbull, and many spectators complained about the problem.
An ITV spokesperson explained, "The sound problem that regrettably caused some disruption to viewers was caused by a technical issue with the host broadcaster, which provides the coverage of all the action at this year's World Cup."

The ?Kiss a Girl? crooner and his ?Moulin Rouge? actress were in the house to help raise money for the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball and they looked plenty cozy as the posed for the paparazzi.
Nicole selected a cleavage-bearing nude Prada gown for the occasion, though her most enviable accessory was her handsome hubby Urban in his black suit.
Though they?ve been hit with rocky relationship rumors, there were thankfully no signs of trouble in paradise for Nic and Keith.

I?m using photos of Duchess Kate and Prince William from their previous appearances this week. Kate made two appearances (in one day!) and William? I guess he made two appearances in a day on Monday as well. Quite honestly, this week might be the last time we see them this summer. We all know that everyone has been working overtime on Anmer Hall so poor William and Kate can have some ?proper downtime.? And thank God they?re finally getting around to hiring some much-needed staff to? well, to do something. Make it look like they?re very, very busy! CHOP-CHOP!
When Prince William married Kate Middleton, courtiers stressed the newlyweds would have a modest household with few staff. Three years on, the couple have, however, quietly made another major appointment to their swelling number of attendants. They have taken on their first equerry from the Armed Services to help manage their affairs. He is 27-year-old Irish Guards officer Captain Florian Graham-Watson, who will be perfectly placed to seal the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?s love affair with America. He has just become engaged to his American girlfriend, Celia Campbell, and their wedding is likely to be held in the U.S. next year.
Captain Graham-Watson?s appointment is the latest new member of staff at Kensington Palace. In March, Wills and Kate took on a nanny, the Spaniard Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, despite earlier suggestions that they would not employ a full-time carer for Prince George, who celebrates his first birthday next month. William already has a private secretary, Miguel Head, while Kate has her own official, Rebecca Deacon.
They are served by two press officers, Ed Perkins and Nick Loughran, while they also benefit from the advice of several officials, including former diplomat Sir David Manning. And last year, the couple employed their first orderly, a young Fijian-born corporal from the Parachute Regiment, whose role involves chauffeuring, logistics and even organising William?s wardrobe. They also have an Italian housekeeper, Antonella Fresolone.
A Kensington Palace spokesman says Captain Graham-Watson?s appointment was not announced because it ?is only temporary?, adding: ?We anticipate a permanent equerry will be recruited in due course.?

I?m a very gauche American, so I do need some help translating some of these job titles. Is ?equerry? like a private secretary, an assistant or some kind of butler? A combination of all of the above, perhaps? By Katie Nicholl?s count, William and Kate now have a personal staff of 12, half of which have been added in the past year. Nicholl also says that Will and Kate are looking to hire a full-time cook sometime soon too ? you know how it is, there just isn?t enough time in the day to actually hire all of the staffers one needs. Nicholl also points out that Kate now has ?two additional female aides who help with letter writing and calling in clothes for the royal wardrobe.? How many letters is she really writing? Seriously? And I don?t think the nannies are included in the ?staff of 12? number.
When Kate and William first got married, the palace propaganda machine churned out stories about how ?normal? they were and how they barely needed any staff and Kate loves to cook for William and Kate wants to do everything for herself. I said at the time that they would NEED staff, like a press secretary and assistants to keep their schedules straight, because I assumed that Will and Kate would keep a decent schedule back then. Now that I?ve seen how little they work and how much they vacation, I take it all back. There is absolutely no reason for taxpayers to fund a staff of 12 (probably much, much more) for these royals who do so little.
PS? I wonder if the royal bum-watcher is the unlucky 13th staffer.

SACK SLEEVES. That?s how Angelina Jolie?s need for sackiness has manifested itself today. A beautiful charcoal grey suit which would have fit her like a dream, save for the sack sleeves. Angelina is so funny. Anyway, these are some photos from Day 4 of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, with Brad Pitt joining Jolie for the second day in a row. Superficial comment: I don?t like her hairstyle here. Too ?old? and mumsy. Also: I know some people will start yelling about how she looks exhausted. I imagine she IS exhausted. Plus, she?s been crying a lot during the summit. She probably cried off all of her makeup.
Yesterday, Angelina was invited to Clarence House where she met Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. They had a nice chat:
Camilla and the Oscar winning actress met at Clarence House to discuss their separate campaigns to aid rape victims. The two women have worked in recent years to highlight the issue of sexual violence and they were joined by Foreign Secretary William Hague.
The discussions covered the common ground between the women’s campaigns, with the pair sharing ideas. Camilla, 66, has visited rape crisis centres across the UK and spearheaded a scheme to provide victims with toiletries after undergoing forensic examinations. The Duchess of Cornwall came up with the idea of providing rape survivors with toiletries after speaking to women during a visit to a rape crisis centre in Derbyshire. Last year she said she hoped the project would help people feel better at a traumatic time in their lives. The two-year pilot scheme will see shower and bath products donated by firms collected into wash bags and given to victims.

On one side, I?m happy to see that at least one member of the royal family thought it would be a good idea to participate in the Global Summit. On the other side? how is this an issue that only ONE member of the royal family can get behind? It would have been great to see Prince Harry, William, Kate, Charles, or the York princesses get involved too. It?s not like being against rape is a controversial position.

I covered some of the early excerpts from Keira Knightley?s Glamour cover story a few days ago, but Glamour released some new quotes and I wanted to cover them. Keira has been a working actress for something like 12 years. She?s been a full-fledged movie star, with a movie star paycheck, for about 9 or 10 years. I?m sure she has quite a bit of money stocked away, probably something over $20 million and less than $50 million. Besides the fact that she?s one of the most in-demand young actresses out there and getting paid as such, she?s also taken lucrative modeling contracts, for Chanel and the jewelry firm Asprey, amongst others. What I?m saying is that Keira is rich. And to her credit, she doesn?t seem to live a very extravagant lifestyle. But are these quotes patronizing?
GLAMOUR: It was reported recently that you allotted yourself a ?salary? of only about $50,000 in 2012. True?
KK: Yes, it?s something around that. I mean, if I want or need something that goes over that, I get it, but, yes, around that.
GLAMOUR: Forgive me for sounding crass, but it seems awfully little for a household-name Hollywood star!
KK: I think living an [expensive] lifestyle means you can?t hang out with people who don?t live that lifestyle. It alienates you. Some of my best, most hilarious times have been in the least luxurious places.

Yeah? I mean, I understand what she?s trying to say, but I?ve known wealthy people like that, who like the idea of ?slumming it? and pretending like they were keeping to a budget, and they drive off in their Mercedes S-Class to go back to their mansion. Those people are annoying. Again, I can understand the idea of not wanting to be materialistic, not wanting to flaunt your enormous wealth, but it seems like Keira is patronizing people who actually live on less than $50,000 a year (which, statistically, is most of us).
Keira also says that she didn?t change her name privately to Keira Righton (?I found I couldn?t do it. I couldn?t go there. Yet.?) and that her parents didn?t even understand why she and James bothered to get married.

In the cover interview, Pink talks about how she enjoys being naked a lot and she and her daughter have ?naked booby butt dance party.? Lord. I mean, good for her. I was just thinking about how I?ve always been a little bit repressed about that kind of thing. But more power to her! Pink also talks about body image and skinny versus strong:

I think that?s one of the best reasons to for Title IX (in America) and for girls? sports programs in general. It?s important to teach girls at a young age that your body is not your enemy, that ?thinness? is not the goal, that strength and power and athleticism are worthy goals as well. I was a child gymnast too, and I loved it. Then I got boobs. And then I quit gymnastics. I should have stuck with it!
Pink also gave an interview to Extra this week where she discussed whether or not she and Carey Hart would have another baby. Pink basically says that 3-year-old Willow probably wouldn?t like a sibling: ?I think she really enjoys being the center of attention? I see siblings that are kind of violent toward their younger ones, and I feel like that might be the way she goes with it.? Yeah, it happens. I’m an only child and I always preferred it.

First of all, is it wrong to love Jessica Simpson?s fancy sweatpants and matching sweat-blouse? If it?s wrong, I don?t want to be right. I think that looks so comfortable. I would totally wear that to ?work? (work for me = stumbling to the computer to write about sweatpants and bangs). Second of all, is it wrong to think that Jessica Simpson is looking a little bit Kate Bosworth-esque in the face? It?s something about the lips, the pout, the newly rediscovered cheekbones. Very Bos.
Anyway, these are some newish photos of Jessica from earlier this week. Jessica just celebrated her bachelorette party a few days ago. Apparently, she and Eric Johnson did a co-ed, joint bachelorette-bachelor party with all of their friends and family, which just sounds like a plain old engagement party, but sure. Last I heard, Jessica and Eric were planning on marrying over the Fourth of July, somewhere in there. In LA.
Meanwhile, Star Mag has a story this week about how Jessica might be knocked up again. Sources say:
?Jessica has been working so hard to get her body back, but she loves the idea of a big family. Another baby wouldn?t be a shock?. Now that she knows getting back to her pre-baby weight is possible, she thinks she?ll be able to handle pregnancy pounds better. And now that Ace is getting bigger, she?s starting to miss holding a little baby. She and Eric are definitely not done expanding their family.?

It wouldn?t surprise me either, but that?s because I remember clearly how Jessica got knocked up a second time two seconds after she gave birth to Maxwell, possibly as a way to avoid going on a diet. That being said, I feel like Jessica and Kim Kardashian are sort of in the same boat nowadays: they?ve done all of this work to take off the baby weight and they?re in no rush to undue all of the work by getting knocked up right away. That being said, in Jessica?s case, she probably will have another kid. I bet she gets pregnant again before Kim.

Miranda Kerr covers the July issue of Net-A-Porter’s The Edit as “a woman with drive.” That’s very accurate. No one can accuse Miranda of not having hustle. She’s turned herself into a brand and works hard at setting up side projects like her latest, a collaboration with Swarovski. She’ll probably be designing jewelry, right? Or maybe thongs. I can’t even deal with wearing a regular thong. The thought of a Swarovski thong is something I probably shouldn’t have mentioned.
This interview with the Edit is mostly uneventful. There is one part where she starts to complain about the paparazzi. Miranda poses so hard for the paps, but she does have a point here when it comes to her son:
Miranda’s personal style: “I like what Stella McCartney stands for and she’s good at what she does. Alexander Wang, too — I?m a very tactile person so I like fabrics that feel good. Especially now, with my son; I like it when [fabrics] are soft so I can cuddle up to him and they don’t get creased.”
Her healthy eating: “I grew up learning the benefits first-hand from my grandmother. She had a vegetable patch at the back of her house and she would teach me how to cook — all very simple but wholesome. Learning the benefits of eating organic food and the nutrient value was ingrained into me, then it was something that I wanted to learn more about because for my job I need to feel my best so that I can give my best.”
On happiness: “We all have bad days and negative emotions. But I?ve realized it’s important to sit with it and let it pass, and if it doesn’t pass, choose a thought that will help it pass. Focus on what it is that you’re grateful for. Having perspective is key.I feel happiest when I?m with my son at the beach or the park, and we get to enjoy ourselves without paparazzi. Privacy is the most important thing, especially being a mother; when I have an off-duty day, it?s challenging if there are photographers around. It becomes a circus and I don’t want that for Flynn. If I?m on my way to work and they get a photo, it?s fine. But if somebody wants to have a day off … Can you imagine being a builder and having to build on your day off? I get my photo taken for a living, and when I have a day off, they?re still taking photos. I have perspective about it, but it’s just nice to have little moments when they don’t intrude.”

Miranda seems very concerned about Flynn’s privacy. She can’t help it that Flynn gets papped when he’s out with her (or with Orlando). No judgment there at all. Here’s where things get a little odd — Miranda also covers the July issue of Vogue Australia. Guess who appears alongside her in the shoot? Flynn. He’s as adorable as can be, and he seems to be a little ham. Editor Edwina McCann spoke to E! Online and said Flynn had a blast, and that it was Miranda’s idea for him to appear in the shoot. Is that inconsistent with Miranda’s desire to shield Flynn from the circus of fame?

This story seems like a case of fan fiction from Star magazine on a slow news week. It has all of the ingredients of a classic Jennifer Aniston story except it never talks about hair. The gist of the tale is that Cameron Diaz must have suddenly realized she’s nearing the end of her childbearing years. She has been so “unlucky in love” and has a new boyfriend, so she must want children, right? I dislike it so much when the tabloids write stories like this.
Cameron has always voiced her opinions strongly. She may be annoying when she starts ranting about deodorant or monogamy, but I’ve never gotten the impression that she was being less than truthful. She’s never raved about wanting babies, but now that Cameron has a nice boyfriend (Benji Madden) and they kiss in public, things must be different, right?
After just two months of dating, Cameron Diaz is ready to have a baby with Benji Madden, Star can reveal. “She’s falling hard,” admits a close friend. “She think she’s The One.” Cameron’s lust for motherhood is the result of her long-standing friendship with Benji’s sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, who introduced the new couple. Cam sees how much joy Nicole gets from her kids,” continues the source. “She’s always wanted to be a mom and doesn’t want to wait until it’s too late.” The 41-year-old, who debuted her tomance with the Good Charlotte guitarist, 35, with a hand-in-hand stroll in New York City on June 3, is already looking into her options. “If it turns out that she can’t conceive,” says the friend, “She’s open to adoption or surrogacy. I have never imagined for a moment that Cameron’s been dying to have a child. She’s never played that game with the press either. It seems very unlikely that Cameron has changed her mind about kids since her recent press tour. She told the Telegraph, “If I wanted kids, at any point in life, I would have them. It’s not like I’m the spinster who didn’t have a child. I just didn?t do that in life, and I?m OK with that. I know the choices I made. I know why I made them.” Cameron also said that she had tons of children in her life already, and if she ever wanted to “borrow” a kid, her friends would be thrilled. She’s perfectly happy being Auntie Cam.
Not all women want to have kids, but that doesn’t sell tabloids. Baby watch does.

I spent WAY too long reading this epic Britney Spears article yesterday afternoon. Seriously, once I finished reading it (and I skimmed some parts of it!) it felt like an hour had passed and I was thirsty and disoriented. So, if you have some time set aside and you want to read a really intensive article about Britney?s Las Vegas residency (an article that barely quotes Britney herself), go here. The biggest headline out of this piece is that even Britney?s handlers admit that she?s not singing live. Durr. But there are a few other gems too. Some highlights:
Journalists always bring Britney food: That?s what the interviewers do. They come and they give her food. Yesterday had been her 32nd birthday. Mario Lopez had brought cupcakes. (The month before, a foreign journalist had asked her what her birthday plans were. ?Probably working,? she?d said. His response: ?You?re so American.?)
The X-Factor debacle: She was terrible at the banter and bitchy sound bites that are so much the matter of those talent shows. Britney came up in a time of CDs, one of her managers, Adam Leber, reminded me, before interaction with fans was so unpredictable and needy and could come at you through your phone. But it wasn?t just that, really. She told her publicist, Jeff Raymond, that watching other people perform made her wistful. She wasn?t ready to hang it up in her early 30s and assume the bizarre position of grande dame judge, trotted out for her wisdom rather than her talent, like Liza Minnelli or an errant Pussycat Doll. Britney quit before Simon Cowell could fire her so she could quit before he could fire her.
Putting together Piece of Me: Britney?s contract for this show, which pays a reported $15 million (about $300,000 per show), demands that she create a spectacle that?s bigger than anything she?d done before, so that people who had seen her live before would still be tempted to come. (Celine?s first residency featured 53 dancers and a bunch of clowns, impractical to take on the road, to say the least.) Fine by Britney. She told Baz Halpin, the show?s creative director, that she wanted elements: fire, water, snow. She wanted a jungle theme, which is something she always wants. Halpin loved the idea and gave her a tree to jump off of in the middle of the third act; it?s 56,000 pounds and 32 feet high and takes six people to move.
Whether she sings live: Our expectations of a woman in her 30s who has built two people in her body might be a little bit of a reach. ?To put on the show that she puts on, it?s virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does,? Adam Leber told me. ?She?s singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There?s no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time.?
Her conservatorship: Sources close to Caesars, which means that they work at Caesars, tell me: that the company had insisted on the conservatorship just in case, and that it must remain throughout her contract.

It?s actually a really interesting, well-researched piece, but it?s verbose. And then some. I found out some new stuff, including the fact that Britney still pays Kevin Federline $25,000 a month in child support. I learned that Britney hates crowds and that she has an excessive amount of managers and ?staff.? I also learned that she really likes her backup dancers and she enjoys being on stage with them. As far as the ?Britney doesn?t sing live? thing? well, that?s nothing new. It is interesting that Britney?s team is admitting it now. So, why are people going to Britney?s show again? To see her dance around (badly) and lip-sync?
