When I came across Page Six?s top story this morning, my immediate reaction was to chuckle because all I skimmed at first was ?Naomi Campbell? attacked? Paris.? I thought, ?Of course. Of course she attacked the city of Paris. Of course she brought out her bedazzled phone and gave the city of Paris a major beatdown. Because she?s Naomi Campbell!? Alas, that?s not what the story actually is. Naomi was the VICTIM! After years of handing out beatdowns and whoop-asses, Naomi was attacked by unknown assailants in Paris several weeks ago, and she is still suffering from injuries now, weeks after the attack:
Naomi Campbell suffered a leg injury when she was violently attacked and robbed on a Paris street, multiple sources exclusively tell Page Six.
The supermodel was set upon by thugs as she tried to hail a cab and was ?knocked over and robbed,? we?re told. She suffered a torn ligament, and reported the incident to French cops.
One source said, ?It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked in the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed.
?Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up,? the source said. It is not known what the thugs stole from her, but it?s believed they were targeting expensive jewelry she may have been wearing.
The beauty?s billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, immediately flew her by private jet to Vail, Colo., where she was treated by J. Richard Steadman, one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the world and the founder of the Steadman Clinic, which has treated many athletes, including Alex Rodriguez.
Naomi, 42, has been using a wheelchair and crutches to get around following the attack, which happened over a month ago. Our source added she has not spoken publicly about the assault nor told friends, at the request of French police who are hunting down the thugs.
We are also told Doronin has upped security around Naomi, as a precaution.
The model?s spokesman and agent declined to comment. When reached by phone, the Naomi said, ?I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine.?
Naomi has remained positive since the attack. She has been tweeting inspiring messages and threw a New Year?s Eve bash at her house on Miami?s Star Island. She?s now resting in Miami and preparing for next month?s launch of her TV show ?The Face.?

The only little conspiratorial buzz I have is that I find it hard to believe that Naomi ever, ever rolls without an entourage. You know? I just find it unlikely that she would be alone, on a Paris street, hailing a cab. She is known for rolling with a huge entourage at all times, and I also think it?s kind of bizarre that she wouldn?t have her own car and driver, and that she would be hailing a cab? But if her assailants were watching her for a while, maybe they just struck at exactly the rare moment when Naomi was alone. As for her injury? poor Naomi, and I hope they catch the dudes who assaulted her. At least she?s putting on a brave face. And karma, etc. I feel kind of bad for yelling ?Karma!? about this and truly, no one deserves to be attacked? but honestly, Naomi has a history of beating the hell out of people, so I feel pretty justified in saying it. Karma.
Also, I kind of hate to say this, but over the years, I?ve really grown more and more attracted to Vladimir Doronin. Um? he?s really sexy. And he?s crazy rich. And he?s probably afraid that Naomi is going to beat the hell out of him one day too.

Emma Watson covers the February issue of Marie Claire UK, and I kind of love the photo shoot and the styling. Emma?s magazine shoots can be hit or miss, but I think they found just the right balance with this one. She looks young, but not too young. She looks fresh and pretty and not vamped-up and sexed-up. Her hair is finally at a really adorable length too ? I wasn?t a fan of her Justin Beiber haircut, but it?s gotten progressively cuter as she?s grown it out. Anyway, here are some highlights from Emma?s Marie Claire interview:
Her priorities: ?Friends and family come first and work comes second; that?s just how I live my life.?
She?s more confident now: ?Now I feel a lot more settled in who I am and what I think and how I want to do things. And because I feel good about what I?m doing, I don?t need anyone else to say whether they think it?s good or not.?
She was born in Paris, but she still can?t speak French: “I always have the same New Year’s resolution: to speak French fluently. I get a huge wave of nostalgia when I come into the Gare du Nord. There’s such an emphasis on culture, art and music? And I’ll do anything for a warm baguette.”

I just had to check her birthday because as I was reading the quotes, I was like, ?Damn, is she a fellow Virgo?? I can?t date Aries men at this point, they drive me up the wall, always and forever. What was I talking about? Ah, yes ? I previewed this story yesterday, and I?m so glad I waited to read/transcribe the whole thing, because it is a work of art. Maybe fiction, maybe nonfiction, who can tell? As I said yesterday, Star Magazine has an epic LeAnn Rimes story, all about how she and Eddie Cibrian are spending money like it?s going out of style, but it?s mostly just Eddie buying himself ?presents? because he works so hard being ?supportive? of his wife. This is a rather chilling piece of sadness, paranoia, relationship trouble and money drama, and it?s delicious.
LeAnn Rimes hasn?t had much success with buying love from her worst critics, but friends close to LeAnn say that when it comes to her husband, Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn is attempting to buy his loyalty ? and the bills are starting to mount!

I have a for real question for all of you hardcore ladies who work out like bosses all the time: is there some underwear rule that I?ve never heard of? I?ve been on a self-imposed workout schedule (four times a week!) for two years now, and I never go to the gym without my drawers. I?ve never given a crap about visible panty lines or anything, and I don?t care if I look ?cute? while working out, so my workout panties tend to be full-coverage, new-generation granny panties. But every time I see Kim Kardashian in her gym clothes, leaving or entering the gym, I?m almost certain that she?s never wearing drawers. Is this a Kim-specific thing, or is there some no-panty gym rule I?ve never heard of? Go here to see the slightly NSFW photo of Kim?s visible ass in her workout leggings. Why is going commando a ?thing? at the gym?!
Anyway, as you can see, these are new pics of Kim at her LA gym yesterday. She?s still working out while pregnant, which various experts say is absolutely fine ? I believe pregnant women are recommended to avoid higher-impact workouts, but some light weightlifting, walking, biking and prenatal yoga is fine. But here?s another for real question: have any doctors weighed in (so to speak) on Fraudster Tracy Anderson?s crazy workout schemes for pregnant and postpartum women? Because that?s what Kim is doing now!

Can you believe that early January is finally here? Not only is it the New Year, but we’re coming up on the one-year anniversary of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop-branded colon cleanse! This is a momentous occasion, and I’m really crossing my fingers that not only will Goop publish next week’s newsletter with a new “collaboration” with a Dr. Junger, but finally, she’ll see the light and offer the Crispy Carrot Ginger and Luxardo Maraschino powder flavors that I previously suggested. If anyone knows anything about peasant life, it’s me, and Goop needs to listen to my suggestions. Make it happen.
At the moment, however, Gwyneth’s newsletter has been on hiatus since December 20, which is completely understandable considering that it’s the holidays, and Goop probably wants to Goop it up in the kitchen for her family and attend some fancy parties. Also, she has been videotaped dancing onstage at Jay-Z’s recent New Year’s Eve gig in Brooklyn, and the video has now gone viral. Naturally, the Mail has labeled Gwyneth’s moves as “cringeworthy” and “mum dancing,” but I’m inclined to take it easy on her because this vid is actually kind of cute. Check it out:
I don’t know. I think Goop’s little jiggle is dumb, but her little display of entitlement (“Look, I’m on stage with Jay-Z! His wife, Beyonce, is totally my BFF, and we drink wine together in bed while our children frolic in the fields adjacent to my wood-burning pizza oven”) is no where near as embarrassing as Chris Martin’s overenthusiastic “hip-hop” dancing as he shouts “Yeah!!!” I will never understand what Gwyneth sees in that guy — well, besides the posh accent and all of that money.

The couple fell for each other in 2011 while filming the gritty cop drama Rampart, and they’ve carried on a discreet romance since then, insiders say. “Ben proposed to Robin a few weeks ago, and they’ve already set a wedding date for late spring 2013,” a close friend told the Enquirer.
“For the first time in ages, Robin feels happy and settled. She went through hell wiht Sean’s mood swings and violent temper, and never thought she’d find love again. But Ben worships her and gets along great with her kids.
While raising [she and Penn's] children, The Princess Bride star turned down numerious roles and graciously endured Penn’s reported womanizing and frat-boy antics.
Meanwhile, her whiny ex complained in a recent interview: “There is no shame in my saying we all want to be loved by someone. As I look back over my life in romance, I don’t feel I’ve ever had that.”
The source added: “Sean threw away his marriage to Robin, and now he’s crying about how he hasn’t been loved. Robin feels as if the tables have finally turned. She’s grateful to be movin on with her life.”

I hope this story is true, and I hope that Sean hears about it and starts crying into his beer because he ignored the best thing he ever had in favor of shagging supermodels and the like. Robin put up with a lot over the course of her marriage to Sean, so it must be amazing to be treated well by Ben. Or so I assume that Ben treats her well if she’s really planning on heading down the aisle so relatively soon after extricating herself from the Whiny One. Look, Robin and Ben even walk in step with each other.

It was just a year ago that we were treated to a series of shirtless photos of Jon Bon Jovi, then 49, hanging out on the beach with his family. Back then he looked pretty damn good, but fast forward a year and he looks even fitter at 50! I really like this guy, who is by all accounts that I’ve heard, a devoted family man and a very nice guy. He’s been married for 23 years to his high school sweetheart, Dorthea Hurley, and they have four children together. He also has his own charity foundation, which has recently focused on Hurricane Sandy relief following the devastating effects of Sandy in his native New Jersey. So long story short, Bon Jovi is awesome.
Bon Jovi’s life isn’t entirely charmed, though. He had a devastating setback when his 19 year-old daughter, Stephanie Rose, overdosed on heroin this November while away at college. In response, he simply said that he never saw it coming and hopes they caught it in time, but that there’s only so much you can do. He said, in part, “I?m shocked as much as the next parent with this situation and had no idea. But then you surround them with best help and love and move on, and that?s where we?re at with it… Hopefully, we caught it when we did and that?s the end of it. But who knew? I?ve got three more to come.”
Bon Jovi in shown in St. Barts with his wife and two youngest children, Romeo, 8, and Jacob, 10. Last year his daughter Stephanie and their now 17 year-old son, Jesse, were in St. Barts too for the family holiday vacation. Maybe all the kids were there and those two stayed at the hotel this day instead of heading to the beach.I just hope that Stephanie is doing well and that she has family around her. Hopefully she’s back on the right track again. It sounds like she has plenty of love and support from her family.

I’m reading Frank McCourt’s Angela’s Ashes right now, which is kind of pathethic because the book’s been out since 1996, and it’s taken me this long to get around to reading McCourt’s rather hilarious take on a poverty-filled Irish Catholic childhood spent at the mercy of an alcoholic father who often spent his paycheck at the pubs. Anyway, I’ve never seen Showtime’s “Shameless,” but the show’s description on the network website seems quite familiar (and like an updated, Americanized version) relative to McCourt’s book. But I could be wrong.
Emmy Rossum, star of Shameless (along with William H. Macy), covers the latest issue of Manhattan magazine in a series of glittering dresses and backdrops. The last time Kaiser wrote about Emmy, she made the hilarious observation that Emmy stood out quite a bit in a “one of these things is not like the other” sense in regard to the show’s trailer. Indeed, Emmy says she had trouble from the very beginning with the show’s producers, who refused to grant her an audition because she was too glamorous for the role of the Gallagher family’s eldest daughter, Fiona. Here are the relevant excerpts from Emmy’s interview:
She was so pretty she couldn’t get in the door: “They didn’t want to see me; they wouldn’t even [let me] audition, They thought my image too glamorous, that I couldn’t not be pretty.” She sent a tape of herself in character to the producers, and they were so impressed that she “flew out the next day” to meet them. Three auditions later, Rossum had the part, opposite William H. Macy — and let loose a string of expletives when she found out, which “only seemed to confirm [their] decision.”
She’s very different than Fiona: “I don’t let anything send me into a tailspin. I never have; it’s not in my nature. Fiona is very sexually liberated. She’s also a loudmouth, and there’s safety in that. But I’m not the sex-on-the-first-date kind of girl.”

Certainly, it’s easy to take Emmy’s words out of context and twist things around to make it seem like she’s complaining about being pretty and polished in real life, but obviously (at least from the stills I’ve seen), she has to undergo a pretty regimented makeunder while shooting the series. So what she says makes sense here.
Now how about this photoshoot? Emmy is certainly working the glamour in these slinky dresses, and the wind machine isn’t exactly working overtime. This luxury magazine shoot seems like a clear case of counterprogramming towards Shameless, but Emmy looks like she’s having a lot of fun with it.

These are some rare photos of hot dad Matt Damon with his family. He’s shown at LAX airport yesterday holding daughter Stella, 2. She’s adorable! Matt’s wife of seven years, Luciana, is trailing behind him and I think I spot his two oldest daughters, Alexia and Isabella. I don’t see their daughter, Gia, 4. It’s possible she’s off-camera. In his recent Playboy interview, Damon mentioned that the paparazzi don’t hound his family daily the way they follow the Garner-Afflecks, but he also said they’re careful not to go to paparazzi hot spots. It sounded like he was mildly calling out the Afflecks for staging photo ops, which have been all too obvious during Ben’s Oscar campaign. So that’s why it’s nice to see photos of Damon with his family, because we only get the occasional chance. He’s not pimping his kids and he’ll tell you about it. (Update: an earlier version of this story incorrectly claimed that Matt was with his daughter Gia, 4. The photo agency mislabeled the captions and we’re sorry for the confusion.)
There’s plenty of news about Damon, but my favorite is a new extensive interview in Boston Magazine in which Damon and Affleck discuss the making of their Oscar winning film Good Will Hunting. It’s a long, good read on the history of the film 15 years later. The piece includes quotes from director Gus Van Sant, and co-stars Cole Hauser and Stellan Skarsgrd among others. I was surprised at how long it took for the film to get made and what these two went through to finally get to production. In no way can I do justice to the article here, and I would recommend that you read it in full if you’re a GWH fanatic like me. Here are some of my favorite excerpts:
Their frustrations at constant rewrites
Affleck: We were so frustrated that Castle Rock wasn?t reading the script, so we felt like we had to develop this test. We started writing in screen direction like, ?Sean talks to Will and unloads his conscience.? And then: ?Will takes a moment and then gives Sean a soulful look and leans in and starts blowing him.?
Damon: They weren?t reading the script closely anymore. It was literally probably a full paragraph about what these two characters were doing to each other.
Affleck: We would turn that in, and they wouldn?t ever mention all those scenes where Sean and Will were jerking each other off.
Damon: Ben gave it to [Chasing Amy director] Kevin Smith and said, ?Will you please save us? Will you direct this movie?? And Kevin read the script and was unbelievably kind. I still remember the message. He said, ?I wouldn?t dare direct this movie, this is so beautiful.? Kevin went in personally to Harvey Weinstein?s office at Miramax and handed him the script, and basically said, ?Drop everything you?re doing right now and read this.?
Damon: I still remember the phone call with Harvey. He had two notes on the script that were excellent, both very minor things. In one of his notes, he said, ?I don?t like the chess thing??there was a thing where Will played chess??take that out.? And he goes, ?And the bl*w jobs gotta come out, guys.? And we were like, ?Okay, we found a home.?
On how they reacted the first day of filming
Damon: The very first day, I remember we started crying, because it was a scene between Robin and Stellan. And when Gus called action and we watched these guys?I mean accomplished actors?do our scene verbatim, we had waited so long for this to happen. I remember just sitting next to Ben and I had tears rolling down my cheeks because I was just so happy and relieved that it was really happening.
Affleck: We did tear up a little bit. But why is Matt saying this shit? Like, he holds his f’ing tongue for 15 years and now because it?s Boston magazine, he says he started crying? His career is not over, you know what I mean? He needs people to believe that he?s like Jason Bourne or whatever!
On winning the Oscar
Damon: Ben and I talked about it recently. We were younger than we felt. I was 22 and Ben was 20 when we first started writing it. And then it came out when I was 27 and Ben was 25. I mean, Ben?s still the youngest writer to ever win an Oscar for screenwriting. I?d be the youngest if it weren?t for Ben. F’ing asshole.
On what GWH means to them
Damon: I don?t think there could ever be another movie that I felt that way about. Because of what it meant for our lives, because of that time in our life. Another movie couldn?t occupy that much of my heart and soul at this point in my life. A movie could never change my life like that again.
On their future working together
Affleck: For a while, we thought maybe we should chill and just do other stuff, and not be Matt and Ben, Matt and Ben. But now, I?m gonna direct Matt in the Whitey movie. We have our company together, we?re developing together. And Matt lives down the street from me like he used to. His kids are living with him, the way we used to live with our folks. The only difference is that we have pools.

I loved this article, and just wish that the people at Boston Mag would have taped the whole interview and put it on YouTube. It’s kind of frustrating to only imagine it and not be able to see these two giving each other shit.

The Daily Mail has some quotes about how he really wanted to direct his new film with John Krasinski, Promised Land, but stepped down when he realized that he would have to spend so much time away from his family. He described how he contacted Gus Van Sant in a panic and was able to get the former Good Will Hunting director on board instead. “The next morning, I was leaving to go to Florida with my family and I was sitting on the plane, feeling horrible. I emailed Gus and told him everything that had happened, and he emailed me back, right before we had to switch our phones off. He said, ‘I love your writing. I’d love to read it.’ At that point, it was what they officially call the Alec Baldwin moment. The flight attendant was like, ‘Turn that f***ing thing off, or I’m going to come and take it from you!’ So, I forwarded it to Gus from my Blackberry, as fast as I could, and then switched it off.” That’s so funny, “Alec Baldwin moment.” Except Alec was defending his right to play Words with Friends, not to save a movie.

She collected at least $100,000 to celebrate with Brunei?s Haji Abdul Azim. Known worldwide as Prince Azim, he throws some of the wildest, most lavish bashes ever, topped off with gift bags stuffed with expensive party favors like iPads and jewelry dripping with diamonds.
Lohan, who claimed to be planning a dinner at home on Monday night, had the party on her schedule for a while, says an insider.
?Prince Azim not only flew her out; he put her up in a beautiful suite in the Dorchester for the weekend and following the party. Her mom, Dina, is also in London with her at the hotel and attended the party,? says the source.
Azim, son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, is third in line to throne of the small, Southeast Asian nation.
The insider tells us the 30-year-old, celebrity-obsessed prince also paid Lionel Ritchie a whopping $250,000 to come sing for him and Pamela Anderson, a favorite, to come show herself off for $75,000 at the crazy bash, which he holds annually in the 10,300-square-foot ballroom at the five-star Dorchester in Mayfair. Azim?s sister, the gorgeous Princess Fadzilah, also buddied up to Lohan at the party.
?He rents the ballroom and does this for his amusement,? says our source. ?He rents the ballroom and pays stars to show up. Lindsay went because she?s that desperate for a paycheck.?
In June, Azim threw himself a massive 30th birthday bash at the Dorchester. That time, he flew in his celeb flavors of the month, including Mariah Carey, Chace Crawford, Raquel Welch, Marisa Tomei and Dionne Warwick, who performed a few songs. In 2009, the billionaire prince?s holiday gathering was proclaimed party of the year by the British press.

Thus endeth the mystery of how Lindsay Lohan paid for her London trip. Not only did Lindsay get $100,000 for ?one night,? she also got to stay in a decked-out luxury suite, all expenses paid. Because the third in line to the Brunei throne loves to party with ginger crackheads, I guess. And I love that Dina Lohan came to party too. I bet she tried to negotiate her own ?appearance fee? Slimming down for her man, Kelly Clarkson revealed how she lost 30 pounds in 2012 in an interview with Cosmopolitan in the February issue.
As for her motivation, the "Because of You" singer explains, "I think that happens when you fall in love or date someone. If I'm going to be messing around, I gotta look good."
When asked about her method, the 30-year-old crooner shared, "I was working with a trainer. You'd be amazed the amount of weight you can drop by halving your portions. I know it sounds crazy, but do it for two weeks and watch what happens.' I just cut back my portions, I stopped eating late at night, and I work out a little more than I used to, and I literally dropped 18 pounds in a month. I think it happens when you get really busy. But when I'm on my off-time -- girl, those 18 might come back!"
However, Kelly clarifies that weight is not an obsession with her. She says, "I'm willing to work a little bit because I want to be a healthy individual -- which I always have been. I've put on weight, but that's just what I'm happy with at that moment."
