On Tuesday, a judge approved a 2 week forced hospitalization for Amanda Bynes. A 5150 hold usually only last 72 hours but the judge thought Amanda was crazy enough to extend her stay.
Now, her lawyer is challenging the extension. Her lawyer has filed documents for an emergency hearing to free her from that white room.
Also showing up in the courtroom were Amanda’s parents who are trying to win temporary conservatorship over her. The judge explained that there was no rush because she’s being held for 2 weeks. He also said that these things need to happen before he considers a conservatorship.
He wants a one-on-one with Amanda.
He wants the lawyer he appointed to rep Amanda to interview her and then come up with a recommendation.
He wants to hear from Amanda’s doctors.
He wants to see the police file on “the incident” — sources have told us the incident in question is the driveway fire.
In earlier news, sources tell TMZ Amanda is suffering from severe mental illness “with schizophrenic tendencies.” They say she knows there’s a “good Amanda and a bad Amanda.” Apparently bad Amanda tells good Amanda to burn things. “When she talks about the bad Amanda she almost mimics an exorcism, pulling at her body as if to remove the demon, and even biting herself.”
We’re told yesterday Amanda was lucid for 10 hours — she was kind, quiet and nice. During that 10 hour period the staff questioned her about the fire she started Monday and her personality changed radically. She got frustrated and “shut down.” But she still remained “normal.”
After 10 hours of normal, out of nowhere, her eyes widened, she started to grill the staff about her dog (the one she soaked in gasoline). The staff then told her the dog was safe with her parents, and Amanda went nuts, saying “They’ll kill it, just like they tried to kill me.” This went on for an hour.
Amanda then got incoherent and so out of control she had to be physically restrained.
In her defense, they probably had the most annoying questions like “why did you soak your dog in gasoline?” and “you monster!” I mean, the last one isn’t even a question.
Initially Amanda was placed with another female patient, but she started berating and insulting her to the point they removed Bynes and put her in a room by herself.
To be a fly on that wall. You can just imagine how many times she called that girl ugly (one of her favorite insults). It would have been like a game of Snaps but there wouldn’t be any jokes. It’d just be Amanda looking her straight in the eye and telling her, “You’re ugly. Your eyes are too far apart. Your mom should have aborted you.”

I actually love her fancy wedges, but I feel like they?re too dressy for a shopping excursion? But her outfit is cute, no doubt. So, is everybody ?over? their Hathahate? Can we go back to sort of liking her even when she?s kind of annoying? Because I still like her. And I still enjoy her in total, even with her Oscar Beav and Oscar Nips. She?s fun, she?s dorky, she works hard and the ?Hathahate? thing was so overblown.
Have you noticed that it?s been five months and she still hasn?t issued a word about the ?Hathaway Backlash? I?m sure she?ll discuss it in future interviews, but I like that she?s not out there trying to make people like her. She needed a break. We needed a break too. Anyway, in that same vein, Star Magazine claims that Anne was pitching a possible memoir about her life and work to book publishers. And no one wanted it!
Don?t hold your breath waiting for Anne Hathaway?s autobiography. Star has heard that the actress? not-so-highly anticipated memoir was rejected by numerous publishing houses when she pitched the idea of writing her life story.
?Anne was told flat-out that her life isn?t that interesting and she?s just not popular enough,? the insider says. ?She is crushed because she thought she has a best-seller.?
Maybe it was the title? It Came True: Writing the Perfect Acceptance Speech.

I actually sat here and debated (with myself) if I would read Anne?s memoirs. I probably would, but only if she was being brutally honest. I want to know what happened between Anne and the Italian con artist. I want to know what happened between Anne and Christian Bale. I want to know why Anne married a skinny-pants wearing jewelry designer. The problem isn?t that ?Anne is boring and everyone hates her? ? the problem is that Anne is incredibly interesting but she just acts like a boring dork so you won?t see her acting shady.

Pitching in on promotional efforts for her upcoming comedy "The To Do List," Rachel Bilson paid a visit to the set of "Chelsea Lately" last night (July 25).
While discussing the film, the "Jumper" beauty dished to Chelsea Handler about the 1990's wardrobe she wore.
"It was fun. We got to wear all the clothes from the '90s and the set dressing and all that. I guess I'm a clothes whore from the original '90210' costumer closet," Miss Bilson explained.
The well-known comedian then asked, "Really? Whose clothes were you wearing? Tori [Spelling's]?"
Referring to the Tori's character, Rachel answered, "Probably Donna Martin's. I don't know how I feel about because I was definitely a Kelly girl [Jennie Garth's character]. But I had Donna Martin on. That sounds really weird. But I did."

Here are some photos from Miley Cyrus’ Instagram account that show off her antics in London over the past week or so. She has her mouth hanging open in every single photo but still manages to make it look different every time. I don’t know how she manages to do that, but I guess that will remain one of life’s unsolved mysteries. Usually, I appreciate Miley’s zest for life and excitement for all things, but I gotta admit that this photo — showing Miley lounging about after a Chanel shopping spree — really grates on my nerves. She probably got at least some of this stuff for free, right?
Onto the weird-ass Miley interview of the day, which is with Harper’s Bazaar for an sit-down talk on The Look with host Laura Brown. In this video, Miley talks about her amazing Met Gala dress, throws shade on her former addiction to extensions (as displayed on the February 2010 cover of Bazaar, and then sh-t gets real. Get ready because Miley actually pulls a few grills out of her Louis Vuitton bag. Seriously, and the video clip is below the excerpts:
On her newfound fashion girl status: “It’s kind of just been like an organic thing. As I take more control of my life, people are following that, and I think people are inspired and enjoy seeing someone taking control of what they know that they like. And I think people are wanting to see more of that right now. Are wanting to see someone with a real clear vision of what they are.”
On her fashion idols: “I’ve been obsessed with the Olsen Twins since I was five. I’ve seen every movie literally, you can ask me like any movie, and they actually did like a school of fashion when they were like 10 or 11.”
On her 2010 Bazaar spread: “That’s my simple life, yet I have 350 extensions in my hair. It wasn?t real. None of it was ever real. That was not growing out of my head.”
Her Marc Jacobs dress at Met Gala: “That’s one of my favorites. And Marc Jacobs killed it. Literally, I didn’t even try anything else on. He had brought so many dresses for me, and that was it. It was perfect. For me, I felt like I had to do real punk because the night was kind of made for me. Do you know how much I love Anthony Hopkins? SO MUCH. He?s one of my favorites, and I wish he was in more movies. He?s gone into ?retirement? several times in the past 15 years, but he always comes out of retirement when he?s offered either a good part or a good paycheck. He currently has a part in Red 2, with Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren. He looks like he?s having fun, although I really don?t want to see that movie and the sequel was so unnecessary. So, Hopkins gave a lengthy and personal interview to the Daily Mail and I just felt like covering it, you know? Sometimes, I?ve had my fill of Kardashians and Middletons and I want to talk about an old guy who has a lot of interesting stuff to say. You can read the full interview here and here are some highlights:
He lives in Malibu where he paints, plays the piano, and walks on the beach: ?I have a nice life. I am happy, whatever that means.?
He was bullied as a kid: ?I was bullied as a boy ? lots of kids are, but hopefully most of us get on with our lives and grow up. I was pathetic at school in Port Talbot. I don?t know if it was dyslexia or Attention Deficit Disorder, or just me being a problem child, but I sat in the back of the classroom and didn?t know what any of the teachers were talking about ? I was bottom of the class at everything. And I was made to suffer. But in a way that was a great gift that life gave me, because in the end I was so angry and enraged that I made a certain choice in life. I thought: ?I will get my revenge, I will become rich and famous and that will show them.??
On discovering the acting bug: ?But I tried acting, liked it, and stuck with it. I saw it as the way I would keep that promise to myself of getting back at those who had made my school life a misery. There are times when I wondered if I ever would, though. I have had three marriages and various set backs. Then there?s my bout with booze, which damn near killed me. But I came through all that.?
On his father: ?My father wasn?t a cruel man,? he says now carefully. ?And I loved him. But he was a pretty tough character. His own father was even tougher ? one of those Victorians, hard as iron ? but my dad was tough enough. He was very frustrated in life, I think, he was a great storyteller and could have been an actor. But he was very disappointed in me.?
Seeing Richard Burton in person as a boy: ?I remember it was in 1955 and I was helping my father with the bakery. I walked into this shop to deliver some bread, and as I came out, a grey car pulled up to make a turn to the main road, and it was him, it was Richard Burton. He?d just become a Hollywood star, and was a hero in South Wales as the local boy who made movies. And he looked at me, just glanced casually, and I looked back at him and our eyes met and I thought: ?One day, I want to be like that.???
Booze & cigarettes: ?When I used to drink like a fish I smoked my lungs out, too. I used to go out with my father and we?d both drink quite heavily. And there was a man at the pub we used to go to who was very clean-living, he smoked one cigarette a week, drank one glass of beer a week, and that was it, and one day he dropped dead ? just like that ? because of a brain haemorrhage. My father said to me: ?Well, there you go. He didn?t drink, he didn?t smoke and ? bam! ? he?s gone. So let?s drink up and be merry.? But you have a certain choice in life. You come to a certain age, you think: ?Well, I don?t think this is too smart to feed the fuel tank with all this junk, so I better slow down or stop.???
He stopped drinking just two days before his 38th birthday: ?I just thought, ?Well, I have a choice here. Change or die. Grow or go.? So I stopped doing certain things and I started doing certain others, and I?m glad I did. I see other people still carrying this monkey on their back, which is exactly what it is.?
His third marriage to Stella Arroyave: ?She?s a wonderful woman who likes to spend money? he says happily, ?and even as I am sitting here talking to you, is out spending my money. It?s all gone, whoosh. But she?s very good for me, my wife, because she slows me down? She looks after me that way and she needs to, because my nature is to do things very fast because I have convinced myself that I am still 45 years old. I walk far too fast and I?m always falling over and she reminds me not to.?
He hates dinner parties: ?We have people over for dinner sometimes and it?s pretty nice, but at the end of the meal, when you?ve said all you have to say, what do you do with them then? Stella does warn them. She says: ?Tony?s very odd you know, he?ll get up and go to bed if he gets bored.? But what are you supposed to do? You sit around and you sit around and at the end of it, you think: ?What the hell are we doing?? And I never hang out with actors, they?re the worst, they?ve got nothing to talk about but old movies.?
He still loves to work: ?OK, I look in the mirror and go: ?You are getting older, buddy,? but that?s the way it is. I?m just happy to be alive, you know? Alive and still working. And I love going in to work. The process of going through the day, putting on some clothes and having make-up dabbed onto you and then you go and do some acting .?.?. well, it beats real work, doesn?t it??

See? He?s interesting. He?s lived a long 75 years and he?s still standing, still relevant, still fascinating. I loved the Burton story and what Hopkins had to say about drinking. He really could have gone the way Burton went ? which is to say, rampant alcoholism and an early death. I?m so happy Hopkins is still working, I just wish he would make better films these days. But I guess he needed a paycheck so his wife could still ?spend his money?.

Jennifer Aniston wears glasses and contacts in real life. I think she?s probably farsighted, although I don?t know for sure. When she was first starting out in Hollywood, she used to wear her glasses out and about, even on red carpets, but that stopped as soon as Friends really took off and she wanted to look ?camera-ready? whenever she was out. I feel her on that ? I hate wearing my glasses when I know I?m going to be out, and I try to save glasses-wearing for work and home (one and the same for me). So is Jennifer?s current film, Squirrels to the Nuts, the first film where her character wears glasses? It might be. And this is how they?re doing it? With gold aviators?
Granted, I have ridiculously strong opinions about frames, probably because I?ve had some really bad experiences with unflattering frames throughout my life. My current favorite frames are rectangular light brown plastic, very lightweight and flattering to my face. If I wore aviators, I would look like an a?hole. I would definitely look worse than Jennifer. But that?s not to say that Jennifer really pulls off these aviators. I don?t know many women who could.
As for Jennifer?s personal life? I have doubts about our tip a few days ago about Jennifer and Justin Theroux?s alleged wedding in Charlottesville. I don?t think it?s their style to just fly down to a winery (!) and have a quick ceremony and then go back to work in NYC like nothing happened. JustJen is going to spread this out. We?re going to have wedding drama for months longer, I think:
Love is most definitely (still) in the air! Jennifer Aniston and fiance Justin Theroux are “madly in love” and can’t get enough of their time together, a source close to the actress tells Us Weekly. And, despite recent rumors of a split, the wedding is still very much on.
Aniston, 44, is currently in New York City shooting upcoming flick Squirrels to the Nuts, and Theroux, 41, has been a frequent visitor on-set.
“Justin hangs in Jen’s trailer while she shoots,” a source from the set tells Us of the lovebirds. Most recently, the couple stepped out to dinner at Blue Hill restaurant on Saturday, July 20, the very venue where Theroux and Aniston celebrated their engagement nearly one year ago.
The actor’s writer mother, Phyllis Grissim-Theroux, was also on-hand for the meal. The Wanderlust costars also had a mid-afternoon date at AMC Lincoln Square, catching a screening of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s The Heat.
Earlier this year, sources told Us that the Hollywood pair had put their nuptials on hold because Theroux was getting “weirded out” by the rush down the aisle. In fact, another source tells Us of the couple’s wedding, both actors are currently focusing on their careers.

Aww, I have to admit that this news bums me out just a little bit. For about 18 months, Kristen Wiig and Strokes drummer Fabrezio Moretti were an item, and I thought they seemed really in sync with each other. Certainly, Kristen acted completely smitten with the guy while admitting to Marie Claire, “I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and I feel lucky right now.” Then last July, there were rumors that Kristen and Fabrezio has possibly gotten engaged, but I guess it doesn’t matter now because they’re over. Us Weekly has the exclusive scoop:
It’s officially over! Kristen Wiig and Fabrizio Moretti have called it quits after 18 months of dating, multiple sources exclusively confirm to Us Weekly. The Bridesmaids star, 39, and the Strokes drummer, 33, were first linked in December 2011 after they were spotted making out at a Black Keys’ concert in New York City.
“It was very amicable and they will remain friends,” an insider says of the former couple’s breakup.
Wiig has typically been tight-lipped about her personal life, though she did credit the rocker with enriching her life in an August 2012 Marie Claire cover story. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been and I feel very lucky right now,” she told the magazine.
It’s been a busy summer for the former Saturday Night Live standout: Wiig leant her voice to the No. 1 animated feature Despicable Me 2 and starred in the dramedy Girl Most Likely, both released in July. Moretti, who dated Drew Barrymore from 2002 to 2007, is celebrating the release of The Strokes’ fifth studio album, Comedown Machine.

You know who probably isn’t all torn up about this breakup? Drew Barrymore, who directed Kristen in Whip It and dated Fabrezio for several years before Kristen had even met him. Drew seemed perplexed while talking to Allure about her ex and her friend getting together. Drew described the relationship as “so wacky and incestuous” while also proclaiming that “It seems fitting that they would find each other.” Maybe Drew is tying one on while tye-dying stockings in her kitchen sink in celebration.

I?ve always wanted Rosamund Pike to have a bigger career. I?ve always liked her, even when she was terribly miscast in Die Another Day, and I liked her even more when I saw her turn in period dramas like Pride & Prejudice and An Education. I even thought she was a really good candidate to play Grace Kelly in Grace of Monaco, a role that eventually went to Nicole Kidman and Botoxologist. So I?m very pleased with this news ? Rosamund Pike has maybe/probably scored a major role in what I?m sure will be a major movie of an adaptation of a major bestseller.
A few weeks ago, we heard that Ben Affleck was in talks to play Nick in David Fincher?s adaptation of Gone Girl. I believe that Ben has either finalized that deal or he?s close to it. And now the Hollywood Reporter says Rosamund will be his Amazing Amy. That is? really interesting casting.

Rosamund Pike has been offered and is expected to accept the starring role opposite Ben Affleck in the 20th Century Fox mystery thriller Gone Girl, which is being co-financed 50-50 with New Regency, sources said. Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry are being eyed for supporting roles.
Pike will play a wife who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary, as her husband (Affleck) becomes the prime suspect. Much of the story is told in flashbacks.
The British actress, who recently starred opposite Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher, landed the role that had Hollywood?s thirtysomething female set jockeying for the chance to work with Fincher. A number of actresses including Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman and Emily Blunt had been reported to be in the mix, but all were ruled out for various reasons including availability. Abbie Cornish and Olivia Wilde also had been considered.
Reese Witherspoon, who optioned the book last summer, is producing alongside Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon.
The film is set to go into production in September. Author Gillian Flynn adapted the screenplay from her novel, which became one of the biggest sellers of 2012.
Pike recently shot the dramedy A Long Way Down opposite Aaron Paul. The busy actress? upcoming films also include Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin?s What We Did on Our Holiday, Fouad Mikati?s Return to Sender and Peter Chelsom’s Hector and the Search for Happiness.

So, I guess the story is going to be changed around a little bit so Nick is the older husband and Amy is the younger wife? Because Amy is older in the book. But just on looks and attitude and talent, I think Rosamund is an excellent choice for Amy. Amy needs to be pretty and blonde and smaller than Nick, and she needs to know how to look innocent and sweet one second and then like the most conniving, craziest person you?ve met. I would not have bought Charlize in the role, nor Natalie Portman. Abbie Cornish has the look, I guess, but I?m not really a fan of Cornish. Emily Blunt would have been interesting, but I think Rosamund will do a better job. As for Olivia Wilde? HAHAHAHAHA. What, was Blake Lively not available for a reading?
So, overall, I don?t have huge issues with Ben as Nick and Rosamund as Amy. I think Rosamund fits the role better than Ben fits Nick, so I still have a small hope that maybe Nick will be recast. Even if it?s not, though, it should be interesting. Let?s just say a blessing that David Fincher didn?t try to shoe-horn Rooney Mara into the role. And yay for Rosamund! She?s wonderful and I hope this role redefines her career.

Staying in shape as she prepares for an upcoming film role, Jordana Brewster headed to a West Hollywood gym for a workout on Thursday (July 25).
Announced on Monday, the "Dallas" star will tackle a role in the indie thriller "American Heist" along with Oscar winner Adrien Brody. Shot in New Orleans, the pair join actor Hayden Christensen and rapper Akon in the star-studded cast.
Directed by Sarik Andreasyan, "American Heist" is a remake of the 1959 Steve McQueen crime drama "The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery."
The story follows two brothers with checkered pasts; one is struggling to stay straight, the other gets out of prison and drags his sibling into an ill-fated bank robbery spearheaded by a gang of dangerous criminals. In the process, their brotherly bond is tested. With a$10 million budget, production is expected to wrap in mid-July.
