I watched Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar over the weekend. I wasn?t going to because it?s $20 to rent, but so many people were talking it up on Twitter and I felt like turning my mind off. Oh my gawd, you guys ? it is so stupid. And I mean that in the absolute best way possible. I simply felt good when I?d finished it. Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo clearly made a movie just to crack themselves up and everyone in it came along for the ride. I?m convinced they didn?t even write a role for Damon Wayans, Jr. They just told him what day to show up and he did the rest. I have a whole new love for Jamie Dornan. I won?t recommend it at $20, but check it out when it drops to $4-$6, it?s just the right kind of silly. It?s exactly the kind of thing I would need if I had small kids and needed to mentally escape for a few hours. It sounds like Kristen needs that now that she has 15-month-old twins, Shiloh and Luna. When one is quarantined at home with small kids, you have to get pretty creative in finding ways to check out. While on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Kristen told James that her current reprieve is to sit on her curb for a bit, just to get a break.
Kristen Wiig will admittedly do whatever it takes to get even a brief break from her young twins.
While stopping by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday, the actress, 47, and her Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar costar Annie Mumolo talked about parenting during the pandemic. Wiig ? who welcomed twins with husband Avi Rothman via surrogate ? said her two babies are about 15 months old now.
How is it? Do you ever get a break? asked Corden, a dad of three.
Um, I go outside and sit on the curb sometimes, Wiig responded with a laugh. Because Im afraid, I dont wanna go on a full walk because then sometimes I feel like, Oh, I should be there. But I need to get out, so I sit on the curb. Or just walk around in the driveway and FaceTime Annie.
It feels like a vacation when you just go out the door, added Mumolo, who has a 14- and 10-year-old.
You forget, Wiig joked, a walk really helps. But then when youre in the house, youre like, I cant be saved.

I know shes kidding, but I 100% remember those days. I used to walk our Pomeranian. He had his own dog door and enough back yard to exercise given he was the size of an Ugg boot, but I leashed him up and walked him all over that neighborhood several times a day just to get away. And for those moments when I thought Id snap, I opened my altar to Elmo and let him preach from the Gospel of Good Friends to my children for 30 minutes while I stood on the back step and cried as if my hair stylist had just retired. Annie, whose kids are 10 and 14, said she?d left for James? show while the dogs and kids were running amok, and she just shut the door behind her and walked. I?ve known those days too.
James asked Kristen and Annie about Bridesmaids, which they wrote. He wanted to know if they knew it would be a hit. They told a funny story about how projections had indicated it would tank and they didn?t believe it when people told them it was taking off in the box office. I didn?t care for Bridesmaids, but I liked the cast enough that I was happy it did as well as it did. Maybe the Bridesmaids sequel could be Moms. All the characters living on the same block, and the movie is just them talking to each other as they sit on their curbs hiding from their kids.

Here are more photos from the NYC premiere of Zoolander 2 last night (I covered the pics of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux separately). I?ve often thought that Kristen Wiig tries to channel Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet, but maybe it was because Aniston was actually on the carpet last night, but Wiig pulled out something different and exciting for this premiere. Wiig wore this giant-shouldered Marc Jacobs. Jacobs was a popular choice for this carpet, and I kind of wonder if Wiig got ?the best? one, or the most notable one. I was willing to give this one a ?it?s not my jam, but she looks okay? pass until I got to the ?lip swag? part of the dress. Nope. Way to screw up a perfectly dramatic gown, Marc Jacobs.
I thought Penelope Cruz?s Balmain was a mess in the thumbnails, but once I got a good look at it, I love it. It?s so glamorous and it fits her beautifully.
Gigi Hadid in Marc Jacobs. I?m not feeling this at all. It?s questionable on Gigi, so how would it look on a mere mortal? The answer: terrible. The way this is cut around the bust is really bad.
Kris Jenner and Kendall Jenner were there, of course. They?re both in town for NYFW and word is that Kendall will walk in Kanye?s show. Kendall?s dress is cute, but I feel like the skirt needs two more inches of fabric and Kendall needs some jewelry.
I don?t want to get a face full of phone, but Naomi Campbell is a MESS in this Marc Jacobs. I mean, her body looks incredible and she looks less Botoxy than in past years, but the actual dress/ensemble is terrible. It?s like a fancy beach cover-up.
Irina Shayk in Marc Jacobs? I don?t know, you guys. Does she look knocked up to anyone else? I think we?re about to get a Bradley Cooper-Shayk baby.
Hansel and Derek both wore Valentino, of course.

I like that Kristen Wiig is getting magazine covers these days. Too often, professional comediennes are not thought of as ?stylish? enough to make the major fashion covers. That being said? I have some weird feelings about Kristen. I like her, I think she?s very talented, and I support her career as much as possible. But I also feel like Kristen really wants to be seen as a Fashion Girl, Real Actress and Comedienne? in that order. And it doesn?t really work out. I end up feeling sorry for her (irrationally) because I feel like she tries too hard to be something she?s not. She?s not Charlize Theron ? Wiig is never going to rock a Dior gown and look like a fierce fashion bitch. But that?s what SHE wants. And I wonder why Oscar-nominated screenwriter and talented comedienne isn’t good enough for her.
I was reminded of my mixed feelings as I looked through this Elle editorial (shot at Grey Gardens) and cover. The cover is horrible. It?s like they blended her face with Olivia Wilde. The inside photos are very try-hard too and it just feels like? it?s off-brand. This isn?t who Wiig really is. This is who she?s trying to be. Being categorized: ?It?s not necessarily a bad thing. You have to have some sort of context for a person to register in your brain, and I was introduced to the world as a cast member of SNL. But I?ve always wanted to do dramatic stuff, to write and direct, do a lot of different things. Comedy is where my heart lies, but there?s also something really satisfying about being able to step away with a small crew, become a character and get to know her for a few months at a time.?
Her upcoming lead role in Welcome to Me: She plays a woman with borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery, quits her meds, and starts a TV talk show. ?I?d never read a character like that. I got to a scene where it read, ?She?s fully naked,? and I remember thinking: If I do this movie, I have to do this scene, because it?s really important to this script.?

See what I mean? Kristen wants to be all things. And I guess? good for her. Good for her for stretching herself and stepping outside of comedy box and for moving out of her comfort zone. Eh. Are you just dying to see Kristen in a bunch of dramatic roles? I?m not. It?s like Jim Carrey ? he?s a decent dramatic actor but why fight his natural comedic talents? Kristen is hilarious, but she wants to be more than that.

They are two of our favorite "SNL" alums, so we're thrilled that Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader teamed up for an awesomely, heart-warming comedy.
The first trailer for "Skeleton Twins" hit the web this afternoon and it's definitely going to be good.
Per the synopsis, after a 10 year break from speaking "twins Maggie and Milo coincidentally cheat death on the same day, prompting them to reunite and confront how their lives went so wrong. As the twins' reunion reinvigorates them both, they realize that the key to fixing their lives just may lie in fixing their relationship with each other."
The Craig Johnson-directed flick also stars Luke Wilson and Ty Burrell and is set to hit theaters on September 19. Check out the trailer in the player above!

Here are some photos of Kristen Wiig at the Hateship Loveship screening in NYC. She’s wearing a geometric J. Mendel dress that is unlike anything she’s ever worn on the red carpet. Kristen isn’t much of a clothes horse and usually looks a little underdone at premieres, but I think someone hired a new stylist. Did Kristen even have a stylist before now? I don’t know. Those are Alejandro Ingelmo shoes, and they’re just right.
What I really want to talk about here is Kristen’s smashing new hairdo. She has the perfect face shape for a choppy bob, and that’s exactly what she’s doing here. The color looks a little bit ombre from certain angles, but it doesn’t have the “growing-out” look of typical ombre styles. Maggie Gyllenhall showed off new blonde locks this week too, but Maggie went with platinum while Kristen is favoring a warmer shade.
Kristen’s new polished style makes her stand out so much at this premiere. Her clothes are styled perfectly here, and bold red lipstick is a nice touch too. This is a full-on makeover. Kristen comes off as very glamorous and cutting edge, and this whole look works so well for her.

Supporting her latest project, Kristen Wiig stepped on the Toronto International Film Festival's red carpet on Friday afternoon (September 6).
The former ?SNL? actress joined co-star Sami Gayle for the premiere of their flick ?Hateship Loveship? at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
Per the synopsis, the drama follows the story of a ?wild teenage girl orchestrates a romance between her nanny and her father, who is a recovering addict.?
It?s scheduled to hit theatres later this year.

Reporting for duty on the set of her new gig, Kristen Wiig showed up to film ?Welcome To Me? on Monday (July 29) in Los Angeles.
The ?Bridesmaids? babe donned a pretty yellow dress as she carried a food tray from craft services during a meal break.
In relationship news, Kristen and Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti recently ended their 18-month romance. A source close to the couple told press, ?It was very amicable and they will remain friends.?
Ms. Wiig had previously stated that she wanted to focus on her personal life for a bit- "When you're on your deathbed, you probably aren't counting the movies you've made. You're looking at the people who are around you and thinking about the people in your life, and you can't lose how important that is because that's ultimately where happiness comes from."

Aww, I have to admit that this news bums me out just a little bit. For about 18 months, Kristen Wiig and Strokes drummer Fabrezio Moretti were an item, and I thought they seemed really in sync with each other. Certainly, Kristen acted completely smitten with the guy while admitting to Marie Claire, “I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and I feel lucky right now.” Then last July, there were rumors that Kristen and Fabrezio has possibly gotten engaged, but I guess it doesn’t matter now because they’re over. Us Weekly has the exclusive scoop:
It’s officially over! Kristen Wiig and Fabrizio Moretti have called it quits after 18 months of dating, multiple sources exclusively confirm to Us Weekly. The Bridesmaids star, 39, and the Strokes drummer, 33, were first linked in December 2011 after they were spotted making out at a Black Keys’ concert in New York City.
“It was very amicable and they will remain friends,” an insider says of the former couple’s breakup.
Wiig has typically been tight-lipped about her personal life, though she did credit the rocker with enriching her life in an August 2012 Marie Claire cover story. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been and I feel very lucky right now,” she told the magazine.
It’s been a busy summer for the former Saturday Night Live standout: Wiig leant her voice to the No. 1 animated feature Despicable Me 2 and starred in the dramedy Girl Most Likely, both released in July. Moretti, who dated Drew Barrymore from 2002 to 2007, is celebrating the release of The Strokes’ fifth studio album, Comedown Machine.

You know who probably isn’t all torn up about this breakup? Drew Barrymore, who directed Kristen in Whip It and dated Fabrezio for several years before Kristen had even met him. Drew seemed perplexed while talking to Allure about her ex and her friend getting together. Drew described the relationship as “so wacky and incestuous” while also proclaiming that “It seems fitting that they would find each other.” Maybe Drew is tying one on while tye-dying stockings in her kitchen sink in celebration.
