Slated to hit theaters on August 15th, 2014, ?The Giver? also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep, and Jeff Bridges.
Per the synopsis, ?In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain, suffering, differences or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the ?real? world.?

Continuing to promote Project Sunlight, Fergie paid a visit to HuffPost Live on Wednesday (November 20).
While taking a break from the initiative, the Black Eyed Peas songstress dished about her son Axl, and the unexpected moments she's experienced since becoming a parent.
"Baby Axl is amazing," the 38-year-old singer declared. "He's the light of my life."
Although she's continuing to settle into the motherhood lifestyle, Fergie admits she struggled giving up her former routine.
"I'm a scheduler, I'm a planner, so I would schedule the time to spend with him for learning time," Fergie explained. "What I didn't realize is his feeding times change every day."
She continued, "So I just really have to live more spontaneously and just, kind of, when he's ready to learn and be fed and he's ready to react and respond to me - he's first priority - and my emails will have to wait."
In addition, Fergs shared a few dirty details about her son and hubby Josh Duhamel saying, ?My husband, he got, sharted on, I guess you could say. And I watched it happen and it was pretty amazing."

That final cut of “Work Bitch” that you saw? It didn’t include everything that was shot. Richie Nuzzolese, one of the shirtless guys in the video, tells TMZ, “What’s out in the video is only like half of what went down.” He went on that it was “like an orgy… very sexually oriented.”
Richie describes the scene as involving 15 super hot chicks which was so intense, “it wasn’t even like acting.”
This gels with Britney’s earlier statement where she said she was pushed too far sexually and cut out a bunch of scenes that were too explicit for her.
And the video is better for it. Who wants to see a massive orgy-like scene when you could just watch Britney Spears wiggle around in a bra? “Not I,” said the kid hanging by his underwear from his locker.

Fresh from her trip to Paris, France, the ?Garden State? starlet had her hands full as she carried several large bags trimmed with tissue paper out to her car.
And Natalie managed to make a dressed-down day look super cute, sporting a green t-shirt layered over a long-sleeved brown top with jeans and brown desert boots.
Meanwhile, it sounds like we?ll be seeing less and less of Natalie over the next year, as she and husband Benjamin Millepied are gearing up to move their son Aleph across the pond.
Portman told Madame Figaro magazine, ?We?re looking for an apartment [in Paris]. Benjamin and I are moving in autumn 2014 when his job at the Paris Opera Ballet starts. It?s obviously a massive change to quit Los Angeles for Paris. I don?t know what my life is going to be like, but I?m so excited. I don?t have the French nationality, but I would be love to get it. But I don?t know if it?s possible because I already have an American and an Israeli passport. Perhaps I should add an h to my name to make it sound more French ? Nathalie??

I?ve had a long week of writing about Kardashians and Kanye West, so this post is just intended as a brief respite, a chance to write about someone I love and adore. Emma Thompson covers the new issue of Variety to promote her film Saving Mr. Banks. Many people believe that Emma will be nominated for an Oscar for this role, which means? the awards season is going to be like Christmas for me. Emma waging an Oscar campaign? Come on, that?s just the best thing ever! Here?s what I love too: Emma will actually campaign. Here she is on Variety, which will probably be the first of many magazine covers. She?ll give tons of interviews. She?ll say witty, amazing things. I?m looking forward to it! So honk (or comment!) if you love Emma. Anyway, you can read the full Variety piece here, and here are some highlights – including the admission that Emma got a terrible perm for the role.
She doesn?t want to direct: ?My dad always thought I would be a director because I was so bossy,? says Thompson, who suffered a devastating blow when she lost her father, Eric Thompson, when he was just 53. She briefly considered directing, but realized she had no interest. ?Why would you?? she asks, in an erudite voice that sounds like a college literature professor?s. ?It?s a horrible job. It?s so hard directing. My father was a director and I was married to a director (Kenneth Branagh).?
Why she agreed to Saving Mr. Banks: ?I hadn?t worked for a while, and I said to my agent, ?I?ve got to earn some money,? ? says the 54-year-old thesp. ?I got offered, in quick succession, a very old lady in a wheelchair; Bradley Cooper?s mother (in ?Silver Linings Playbook?); and Mother Teresa. And I thought people must assume I still look like Nanny McPhee,? in which she plays a British caretaker with a single scraggly tooth and a wart on her chin.
Relating to PL Travers: ?I think when my father died, I swallowed him whole, and I think she did too. She swallowed a lot of pain, which she spent the rest of her life metabolizing.?
Emma got a perm for the role: An unforeseen battle in the making of ?Saving Mr. Banks? had to do with Thompson?s hair for the role. In real life, Travers had a simple bubble cut with frilly curls. The hairdo matched her steely personality, and was a crucial foothold into the character. But Thompson is wig averse: ?I think a lot of energy comes off the top of your head when you?re acting,? she says, ?and a wig really puts the lid on it.? So she visited a salon to get the Travers cut. ?I went in willingly like the proverbial woolly lamb to the slaughter and I came out looking like a baby woolly mammoth,? Thompson says. She wasn?t expecting her hair to feel so tight after her perm. She tried to unspool the curls, even going as far as rubbing olive oil on her scalp, but it was no use. ?I did everything I could,? Thompson says. ?I rolled around. I pulled at it. I think the spirit of P.L. Travers was going, ?If you?re going to play me, I?m going to make you suffer ? you?re not going to have sex for months on end.? ?
Being able to act without dialogue: ?I was doing a mime course in Paris with a great French clown who I learned a lot from,? says Thompson, who was 24 at the time. ?At bottom, I am a clown.?
Bill Clinton hated her role in Primary Colors: ?He said, ?We feel so much the same about so many things, but you did that horrible movie.? And I?d completely forgotten. I said, ?Which horrible movie?? I thought he?d seen something that he hated.? She tried to get the president to understand what she had been doing. ?I said, ?Bill, did you ever see it?? He said, ?Of course not.? I said, ?Listen, the movie was about the press.??
She doesn?t want to live in LA, but she likes to visit: ?I love coming to California and I love coming to Hollywood,? she says. ?I?ve always been so warmly welcomed.? Thompson recalls winning her first Oscar, a leading actress statue for ?Howards End,? at age 33. While she called receiving the award onstage ?extraordinary,? she enjoyed the aftermath backstage even more ? ?that feeling all the crew were so lovely to me because I was a foreign lady they never heard of.?
Her two Oscars: Thompson keeps her two Oscars in the downstairs bathroom in her London home so that guests can see them. ?I had them redipped,? she says. ?I sent them over to America, and they came back all sparkly.?
Doing her hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman?s Chinese Theater: She wasn?t sure what the ceremony would entail. ?Perhaps they?ll just throw me in the L.A. River afterwards, which won?t matter of course, because it?s just six inches deep,? she says. ?I?ll just lie there looking at the stars, thinking, ?At last, I?ve arrived.? ?

In the Variety story, they speak to Richard Curtis, who says that he had dinner with the permed Emma and her husband Greg Wise, and that the dinner was simply, like, three hours of perm jokes and jokes about how Greg wouldn?t have sex with her when her hair was so horrible. God, I love them. I love HER. We should all be so lucky to have more Emma in our lives.

I’ll be the first to say it — winged eyeshadow is really hard to pull off anywhere other than a catwalk or a magazine. It borders on superheroine/crazy cat lady, but when it works (like here on Victoria Beckham at the Fourth Annual London Global Gift Gala) it’s fantastic. She kept the rest of her makeup simple and her hair polished and sleek, and her brown-grey eyeshadow has just enough sheen to add dimension without being too shiny. Perfect color AND perfect execution. It’s definitely a yes for me!

Denise Richards has given her first interview since the news of the protracted custody battle over Charlie Sheen’s four year-old twins, Max and Bob, with Charlie’s ex, Brooke Mueller. I’m surprised it took Denise this long, and it just makes it seem all the more genuine. Denise has been more than admirable in taking Charlie’s boys into her home, in dealing with their behavioral problems, and in making the hard decision to let them go back to their addict mom when she feared for her own daughter’s safety. Let’s not pretend that Denise doesn’t love publicity, but when it comes to this serious matter she didn’t want it to get out, she took her time talking about it, and you can tell she’s devastated. Denise told Entertainment Tonight that she never meant for her letter to the Department of Child and Family Services, in which she detailed how the boys were abusive to her daughters and pets, to go public. You could see the sadness in her eyes and she seemed very honest about it. She said she was “embarrassed” and “sick about it” and questioned whether she should have written the letter, which she never meant to become public.
Denise doesn’t know who leaked her letter, which went out to just a handful of people, although she has her suspicions. She said “it’s a shame” it got out and that the publicity affects the boys and her daughters. She was also very mature when talking about her relationship with Charlie, as she’s always been.
On the custody battle
The hardest thing was that it was so public. It was something that could have been dealt with privately. That’s the thing because these are minors, these are kids.
On the letter being leaked
I was sick about it. I couldn’t really look at anything. I was angry… I stopped and had to [remember] what did I write in that? It was such a personal thing. I was sick about it and then I thought “maybe I should have done it differently.” It wasn’t a court document, it wasn’t a declaration. I purposefully went that way to write something personal as a mom… I was very upset that something like that would become public.
It’s a shame because it ultimately affects the children.
On her relationship with Charlie
I don’t want a toxic relationship with him. That’s not to say we [don't] have our little moments… but we get past it the next day. It’s important for the kids, it’s not their fault to deal with parents who are mudslinging and fighting and can’t be in the same room. I just don’t think that’s healthy for anyone. We live down the street now, we can walk to dad’s house. It makes it odd to everyone else, but it works for us.

Charlie totally leaked that letter to make Brooke look bad, right? For legal reasons Denise couldn’t talk about the current custody arrangement. From what we know, the boys are with Brooke and Brooke’s brother, who has been appointed their temporary legal guardian.
Denise Richards has impressed me for years and this interview was no exception. She’s a classy lady, and more than Charlie ever deserved. I just hope those little boys are ok now that they’re back with their mom.

As she continued to promote her charity Conscious Commerce, Olivia Wilde reveals why she started up the organization in the December 2013 issue of Vogue magazine.
In an article penned by Olivia, the expecting actress explains the meaning behind fund-raising and what it felt like to assemble the charity.

On fund-raising:
"There is nothing fun about fund-raising. Whoever came up with that word has never begged rich people for money. It doesn?t matter how saintly the cause, standing on a stage and auctioning off every object and celebrity you can scrape together is a nightmare. This is not to accuse the philanthropic community of stinginess, as generous donors are quite literally the only force keeping most small organizations alive. But it is pointless and torturous to repeatedly tap the same tree and expect to find sap."
On learning a thing or two from Bono:
"A few years ago, I somehow found myself within earshot of Bono. (I promise this did not involve any trespassing or wiretapping.) He said the wisest words I?d ever heard about philanthropy: 'We must all remember the importance of not being earnest.' Leave it to Bono (and Oscar Wilde) to turn common sense into poetry. This simple statement immediately became my mantra."
On raising funds with Conscious Commerce:
"When [Barbara Burchfield] and I began the site, it was critical that we featured only things we would take an interest in?regardless of their philanthropic component. Gone are the days when people will buy some crafty beaded wallet as a symbol of their good deed for the month, only to let it sit hidden in a drawer ever after. We now live in a time when one of the best-selling dresses at Anthropologie also funds a girls? school in Calcutta, India. This is just one of the collaborations Conscious Commerce has fostered, and it?s only possible because of a swell of public awareness about how we shop. This coincides with a rising standard for all our spending, from food to cosmetics. In the past, global economic growth led to greater distance between the consumer and the manufacturer, making much of what we eat, wear, use, and put on our skin as mysterious as a gift from Santa. But now we expect organic, GMO-free produce in our (non-plastic) shopping bags. We want to know what farm our chicken came from, where our textiles were printed, and what in God?s name the ingredients in our deodorant mean for our immune systems. We are trying desperately to take back control of what we consume."

I?m pretty sure that LeAnn called the paps for this photo op, just because of the way she?s posing for the cameras, and how she looks like she?s gotten a fresh blowout and everything. Did she even get her makeup done for this pap stroll?
Since I really don?t have much to say about LeAnn today (there are no major tabloid stories this week, so far), can we talk about her outfit? For all of you youngsters (*shakes fist*), this is how we used to dress in the ?90s. We wore weird skirts with combat boots and we tied our shirts and sweaters into weird knots. The only thing that would make this more dated would be if LeAnn?s sweater was cropped to expose her belly. Oh, I guess we could also make this more dated by adding some flannel. Preferably a flannel shirt tied at the waist.
What I?m saying is this is a terrible look in general, and a terrible look on LeAnn in particular. I get it, though. When you gain weight and you?re still pretending that you haven?t gained weight, you transition from tight clothes to stretchy clothes and you try to show off the parts of your body that you?re still comfortable with. LeAnn wants to show off her legs.

It?s been weeks since I?ve covered Lindsay Lohan. This is surprising. In late October/early November, there were a bunch of stories about Lindsay being back on the booze and/or drugs and I kind of thought that we were in for another Cracken shenanigan at any moment, likely involving an eight ball, a dozen bottles of Jose Cuervo and a stolen cop car. But I guess Lindsay tightened up a little bit, at least trying to make sure that her shenanigans weren?t as widely reported as they once were. So, why am I writing about her today? Because there?s not a lot going on. And this is just a weird story:
Lindsay Lohan may be working to stay sober ? but it?s not just drugs and alcohol she?s steering clear of.
?She has achondroplasiaphobia,? a source tells the new issue of Life & Style of the 5-foot-5 actress, meaning she has a ?fear of little people.”
So what exactly happens when LiLo, 27, has a run-in with a really petite person?
?In 2006 at the Chateau Marmont, she was with pals when two little people walked by and she started having a major anxiety attack!? the insider tells the mag of her bizarre fear. ?She hyperventilated. Someone had to give her an antianxiety pill to calm her down. She kept saying, ?I?m so scared of them!??
Little People of America, a nonprofit organization that provides support and information to people of short stature, responded to Lindsay?s fear by suggesting, ?Lohan should treat her fear the same as she would a fear of any other protected minority population. If that fails, she might find diversity training to be useful.”

I can?t even imagine having some kind of weird phobia about? little people?? It doesn?t make any logical sense to me, but I guess it?s a real thing. Imagine going through your life and hyperventilating whenever you see Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones. I can?t even imagine. CB said that it probably wasn?t even a real thing, Lindsay was just trying to get a Xanax. And it?s weird that this happened in 2006, right? Maybe Lindsay was just super-high and paranoid and she thought the little people were out to get her.

My father spoke so many languages. He spoke Bengali, Hindi, English and German, and I think he was proficient in Latin too. When I was in high school, I took Spanish and my dad let me know that I was a huge disappointment. I never learned Bengali, much to his everlasting shame. I remember being decent at Spanish, although I?ve forgotten a lot of it. These days, I wish I had pushed myself to learn another language when I was younger and my mind was like a sponge, absorbing all of the crazy stuff that I still remember today. Is that Gwyneth Paltrow?s justification then? That even though she allegedly makes Apple and Moses speak to her exclusively in Spanish, that they?re thank her one day?

Even though I had never covered Joanna Krupa before last week?s epic diss by Brandi Glanville, I had noticed photos of Joanna and her husband Romain Zago from time to time. One of our photo agencies always has new photos of them posing in their swimsuits for the paps, and I had some thoughts about them. Mostly my thoughts were along the lines of ?she has a really great body? and ?he looks weirdly asexual.? So, here are some assorted pics of Joanna and Romain from the past week or so. I just can?t even look at him ? he seems? weird, right? Too manicured, to a sketchy level. Anyway, Joanna sat down for an interview with Star Mag to talk about Brandi Glanville?s shade:
Real Housewives of Miami star Joanna Krupa isn?t taking the nasty and vile comment Brandi Glanville made about her sitting down, and she?s calling the fellow Bravo housewives star ?jealous? and claims she hasn?t healed since ex-hubby Eddie Cibrian cheated on her with LeAnn Rimes.
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,Glanville said that Krupa had an affair with Mohamed Hadid while he was married to Yolanda Foster, and that he told her of Krupa, ?her p***y smelled!?
?The only truth to her story is that Mohamed and I know each other,? Krupa told Star magazine. ?We have only ever been dear friends.?
Krupa told the magazine she believes the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said what she said because of her own failed marriage.
?Sadly, I think she is jealous and has never healed,? Krupa said. ?I feel sorry for her. My husband trusts me because he has no reason not to.?

Well, let?s face it, Brandi?s comments ? while offensive and crude ? were probably the best thing to ever happen to Joanna. Joanna now gets to sit down for interviews with all of the tabloids, and now when she calls the paparazzi, they are more likely to come and take her photo, especially when she?s wearing a Team Rimes t-shirt. Joanna is ?somebody? now. Still a Z-list reality star, but at least she?s got some kind of controversy going for her.
As for the idea that Brandi said Joanna?s ?p-ssy smelled? because Brandi is jelly of Joanna?s marriage? um? what? Maybe Brandi has never really healed or maybe she has. I don?t really think that has much to do with Brandi?s shade.

She?s been getting work done, including fillers, stretch-mark treatments and a fat-reducing ultrasound procedure on her stomach that costs up to $5,000 a session.
Kim, who most recently visited Dr. Ourian on Nov. 13, gets the Coolaser treatment, which chills the skin and then uses light pulses to vaporize skin cells ? removing wrinkles, scars, saggy skin and stretch marks.
?It?s popular with celebrities post-baby to reduce stretch marks and sagging in the tummy and breast areas,? an insider tells Life & Style. The Epione clinic can also use ultrasound to melt a layer of fat just beneath the skin.
While Kim’s rep denies she?s being treated by Dr. Ourian, insiders tell the mag that she’s going to great lengths to keep her visits a secret.
A source from the clinic shares that ?Kim and other high-profile clients can sneak in through a back door? to keep from run-ins with the paparazzi. And during one trip to a laser hair-removal clinic ? another of Kim?s secret weapons ? she pretended to be visiting the Pilates studio next door. ?She even wore workout clothes to throw off the photographers and begged them to make it look like she was going inside to work out, not to get laser treatments,? an insider spills to Life & Style.

?Fillers? are obviously happening and have been for a long time. ?Stretch-mark treatments? sounds like a good investment overall ? many women have stretch marks and many women hate their stretch marks with a passion, so no shade there. But WTF is a ?fat-reducing ultrasound procedure?? They use the ultrasound to melt away the fat? How crazy does that sound? But I guess if I would believe it about anyone, I would believe it about Kim. She?s totally getting experimental ultrasound fat-melting procedures. Sure.
Kim denied this story on Twitter though, writing: The 33-year-old said: “I am very frustrated today seeing reports that I got surgery to lose my baby weight! This is FALSE. I worked so hard to train myself and eat healthy, I work out so hard & this was such a challenge for me but I did it!!! Supporting her main man on his tour, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West left their apartment to head to his show in New York City on Wednesday (November 20).
The reality diva wore a white top and ripped jeans with a long black coat as baby Nori's father dressed similarly in a white shirt, jeans, and a fur-trimmed black coat.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the 33-year-old working mom took to Twitter today to vehemently deny allegations made by Life and Style magazine.
Upset at the claims, Kim wrote, "I am very frustrated today seeing reports that I got surgery to lose my baby weight! This is FALSE. I worked so hard to train myself to eat right & healthy, I work out so hard & this was such a challenge for me but I did it!!! Continuing to film her flick ?The Giver,? Katie Holmes arrived for a departing flight at Cape Town, South Africa?s airport on Wednesday afternoon (November 20).
The ?Batman Begins? beauty kept it casual as she toted her luggage and ignored the awaiting shutterbugs.
During her stay, Miss Holmes took a guided tour of the jail where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.
"Katie was very touched by the whole experience. We visited Mandela's cell, where I told her that we all slept on the ground for 14 years, that there were no flush toilets, only buckets, that the lights were kept on all night... She didn't cry, but she did react," said former inmate Ahmed Kathrada.
"You could see she was very emotional," he added.

When chatting about showing off his work to daughter North someday, Kanye stated, "She is going to be in the real world, so she's going to hear things and see things. I think she's gotta be prepared for that."

Dressed to kill, "The Middle" starlet went out all in black, the 26-year-old wore a lovely black-knit sweater, skinny leather pants and designer black heels, she walked down the street with pomp, holding a matching charcoal purse.
Kristin is also expecting her second child with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, sharing an Instagram picture of herself wearing "The Home T? shirt. The slightest hint of her baby bump showed from under her gray tee, as she sported black boots and gray skinny jeans.

Tending to some press duties, Fergie headed over to "Extra" on Wednesday (November 20).
The "Glamorous" hitmaker showed off her post-baby body in a punk rock inspired ensemble as she made her way into the studio.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the new mom sat down with Ellen DeGeneres and discussed why she and her husband Josh Duhamel decided to name their son Axl.
"I had this dream and I was in the audience at this festival," Miss Duhamel explained. "It was outdoors and it was all grimy and nobody knew who I was. I was just one of the fans. It was like the old days. It was so cool. And on stage singing was Jim Morrison and then came Bob Marley and then Axl Rose. I mean I was in heaven in this dream."
She continued, "I'm dancing and just getting into the music and then all of a sudden, boom, boom. And I wake up and it was the first time my son kicked me in the stomach. It was like he was feeling the music with me. It was amazing. I'm gonna start to cry! It was really beautiful, and I woke Josh up and I said, 'Honey, honey, honey - he kicked me! He finally kicked me!"
In regards to choosing Axl over Marley or Morrison, Ferg stated the name "was very strong. It's an old Scandinavian name."
