October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I ?recognized? it on Monday morning by getting a mammogram and a 3D ultrasound. (I have dense breast tissue, so the office was able to get me preapproved for the ultrasound rather than making me come back for it like I did last year.) Speaking of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Elizabeth Hurley is celebrating her 30th anniversary as a global ambassador for Este Lauder?s Breast Cancer Campaign. To raise awareness, Liz sat down with The Times to talk about the campaign, what inspired her to do it, and why she feels that it?s so important to destigmatize talking about it. She also gushes about her relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus and talks about the one subject that?s been on everyone?s mind: their hair!
Why she started doing the campaign: ?I asked [Evelyn Lauder] what it was for and she explained how women all over the world were dying of breast cancer and no one was talking about it and she wanted to change that. It immediately resonated with me because my grandmother had just died of breast cancer. She was embarrassed, she didn?t want people to know she had cancer, especially not in the breast. It wasn?t spoken about. We knew absolutely nothing about the treatment she was going through. That?s just the way it was then. So really, when I started with Evelyn, it was to get the conversation going, to try to raise awareness and destigmatise talking about breast cancer.?
On how women never put themselves first: ?Women have always felt that looking after themselves is somewhat self-indulgent. We always put everybody else first. We put our kids first, our houses first, our husbands first, our mothers-in-law, whoever ? we put everybody first and we seem to put ourselves last. There has always been the feeling that it?s self-indulgent to put ourselves first. What we are trying to say now is, if we are indeed the caretakers of the world, we can?t take care of anyone if we?re not there.?
60 is a mere 1/6 of her life: ?I haven?t noticed a difference. You start doing fractions and milestones. Decades are a very easy way to do fractions. I can now say I?m 60 and I?ve been working for the Este Lauder company on the breast cancer campaign for one in two of my days on this Earth. Right? I?ve been raising funds for breast cancer research for half my life.?
She will not grocery shop with Billy Ray: ?Obviously he loves England. The weather is nicer here in the summer than it is in Tennessee. He lives 40 minutes outside of Nashville. It?s so beautiful. Funnily enough, it actually looks a lot like England. Probably the equivalent of Surrey.? So what do they do together when she?s in ?Surrey Tennessee? ? do they go to the supermarket? ?I do, but he stays in the car.? Because he?d get mobbed? ?Because he would be annoying,? she says, laughing.
On their ?luxurious? locks: ?I cut his hair the other day. We do have a lot of hair between us. We?re in constant danger of choking on hairballs. He has got very fuzzy hair. Before his is done it?s out here,? she says, mimicking a great big, bouffant hairdo with her hands. ?So we?ve actually got contrast hair, which we aim to make look the same in the end.?

This quip made me laugh: ?We do have a lot of hair between us. We?re in constant danger of choking on hairballs.? Well, you know what they say. The couple that does their hair together stays together. I have this picture in my head of Billy Ray and Liz braiding each other?s hair and gossiping about all of their famous friends. I?m actually cracking myself up thinking about it. I bet they also get couples massages and mani/pedis together. They just give off that vibe. Speaking of vibes, Elizabeth does not give me ?I go to the supermarket? vibes. Neither does Billy Ray, although he gives QuikMart vibes.
It?s kind of crazy that Liz has now been doing Este Lauder?s campaign for literally half of her life. That?s pretty admirable. I didn?t know that story about her grandmother?s experience with breast cancer. Raising awareness and destigmatizing women?s health issues is so important. Not only does it help women feel like they?re not alone, it can also save lives. Elizabeth is also right about how you measure your years on Earth differently the older you get. Every few years, I find myself more aware of this. Time morphs and we define it differently with every passing milestone and experience.
Finally, Liz also mentioned that she does her own breast exam every month using this video. I?m sharing it in case anyone finds it useful:

Last week, Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus walked the red carpet together in London for the Royal Academy of Dance Fundraising Evening. I?m presuming that fundraiser was something that Elizabeth was more passionate about. Several weeks ago, they also popped up in Rome for the opening of a new art exhibit. If those two events were for Liz, then this past weekend, it was Billy Ray?s turn. BRC, Liz, and Lizs son, Damian, attended the international premiere of Miley Cyrus? Something Beautiful film in London. Not only did they show up for Miley, they also gave everyone else a show with their blatant PDA. Elizabeth even posted a video to Instagram from the night.
Fashion first: After that dreadful cream-colored knit dress that she wore next week, Elizabeth looks way better here. She?s back to the jewel tones, which suit her skin tone. Her hair looks great when it?s straightened like that. Her makeup is nice, too. That said, holy boobs, Batman! Honestly, I can?t decide if I like the dress or not. I like the colors. She and Damian were clearly theme-dressing for the occasion. As for Billy Ray, it?s a fun shirt! He looks much more comfortable to not be wearing a tux. His hair also looks much lighter than it did last week. Did he do some manscaping on the beard and goatee?
If you watched Liz?s Insta video, below, you may have noticed that it was set to Miley?s song, ?Easy Lover,? which is a single from Something Beautiful. I know that they were there to support Miley?s film, but I find it kind of weird that she posted a PDA-filled video using her boyfriend?s daughter?s song about having a difficult lover. Fun fact: ?Easy Lover? was originally written for Plastic Hearts, which ended up becoming Mileys post-divorce album. When Beyonc asked her to send some songs for them to collaborate on for Cowboy Carter, Miley sent her ?Easy Lover? and an earlier version of ?II Most Wanted,? originally titled ?Shotgun Rider.? I think Queen B made the right choice.

I have been waiting for pictures of Elizabeth Hurley and her new boo, Billy Ray Cyrus, outside of the American southern country setting ever since we found out they were dating over the Easter holiday weekend. Well, the wait is over! On Saturday, Liz and Billy not only gave us some city glam, they also made their red carpet debut. They were in Rome for the opening of a new exhibit at the Palazzo Barberini museum and were joined by Elizabeth?s 23-year-old son, Damian. Liz and her boo dressed exactly as you?d expect them to, with Liz in a sexy hot Pink gown and BRC wearing his finest rocker chic cosplay.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are having a Roman holiday!
The country music star, 63, and the actress, 59, made their red carpet debut as a couple in the Italian capital on Saturday, May 24 ? and they did it in style. The pair stepped out to a dinner celebrating the opening of the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition, staged by the Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti, at Palazzo Barberini.
They were both glamorously dressed for the occasion, with Hurley making a striking statement in a bright pink, curve-hugging gown featuring a plunging neckline and dramatic trailing sleeves. Perhaps giving a little nod to her Austin Powers role, she wore 60s-inspired silver platform sandals. She wore her hair down, styled in soft waves, and accessorized with a pair of statement earrings.
Cyrus, meanwhile, sported his signature rocker edge in a pair of tight-fitting black pants detailed with silver medallions along the leg and a black jacket with leather accents. He topped off his look with a western hat, sunglasses and boots.
The couple was joined by Hurleys 23-year-old son Damian, who wore a red suit and sunglasses.
Hurley shared a photo from the couples night out on her Instagram on Saturday, along with the simple caption Roma .
The pairs red carpet debut comes just days after a source told PEOPLE that Hurley doesnt care that fans dont understand her romance with the Achy Breaky Heart singer.
?Liz doesn?t care that skeptics don?t get it. She?s focused on the special things that they have in common, like country music,? the source said. ?She loves his Southern vibes. He?s very calm and happy around her.?
?They have great energy together. She very much enjoys his company, the insider added, noting that Hurley and Cyrus plan to spend her 60th birthday together on June 10.

OMG, these two are loving the attention soooo much. They are going to ride this out for as long as they can, aren?t they? Although I expected them to first pop up at a UK event, going red carpet for the opening of an Italian fashion exhibit makes total sense for Liz?s brand.
Fashion: I?ve always been a fan of both Liz?s style and of hot Pink dresses. I really like her gown and think it looks great on her. Her hair looks fabulous too. I don?t like it as much as the floral gown that she wore to the Hot Pink Party a few weeks ago, but I think it?s gorgeous. Damian?s red suit is?interesting. I?m not a fan of the cut or styling at all. I don?t hate the color, but it clashes with his mom?s dress. As for Billy Ray?s outfit, I stand by my assessment that he?s morphed into a Dollar Store Dave Grohl. You know he thinks the sunglasses make him look cool, but he is not pulling them off at all.

It?s been just over one week since Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus shocked us all by revealing that they?re dating. It still bewilders me and always will. Elizabeth is one of the most beautiful women in the world and Billy Ray has morphed into a Dollar Store Dave Grohl in a MAGA hat. Anyway, the Instagram force is still strong with these new lovebirds. They spent this past weekend at BRC?s home in Tennessee and posted several photos of their time together. Apparently, they went ATVing and took some good old fashion country glamour shots.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are sharing a look at their cozy weekend.
On Sunday, April 27, the 59-year-old actress posted several photos on her Instagram account, showing the newly public couple enjoying some time together in Tennessee, hanging out on a ranch and driving around in an ATV.
Tennessee weekend , Hurley captioned the photos, the first of which showed the Strictly Confidential star wearing jeans and a white lace shirt as 63-year-old Billy Ray ? sporting a purple plaid shirt and jeans ? cuddled up behind her.
Another photo captured the couple sitting in the ATV with a black-and-white dog next to them.
Billy Ray and Hurley debuted their romance on Instagram on Easter Sunday, April 20, with a joint post featuring a photo of the Achy Breaky Heart singer wearing bunny ears as he kissed Hurley on the cheek. Two days later, Hurley posted a video of the pair driving into the sunset in an open-window vehicle.
Earlier this week, a source spoke to PEOPLE about their budding relationship and revealed that Hurley has been visiting Billy Ray in Tennessee somewhat regularly. The Austin Powers actress spent several days visiting him in Tennessee, the Billy Ray source said of their Easter meetup, adding that Hurley was still visiting the musician by midweek.
Liz is glam, but fits in perfectly in Tennessee, too, the insider said. She spent several days visiting Billy Ray. He loves having her around. She loves his music. And he loves the attention she gives him.
The source added: They are very different, but give off a great vibe together. She?s great for him. He?s been incredibly cheerful.
The same Billy Ray source previously told PEOPLE that the new couple has known each other for years since meeting on the set of the 2022 holiday film Christmas in Paradise.
Liz is great and visited him for Easter. They?ve been seeing each other romantically for a little bit, the source said. And how lucky is he? Liz is lovely. She?s very warm, positive and the best to be around.
The source added that the pair enjoyed working together on the movie. They had a great time shooting that movie together ? it was beautiful and relaxed, and it really stuck with him, they said.

If Liz is in her Cowboy Era, then, as SNL?s Stefan would say, these pictures have everything. They have plaid shirts, denim jeans, and long, flowing hair. There?s a dog in an ATV! The only thing missing is Liz?s straw cowboy hat from the Easter pictures. While the Tennessee pictures have been entertaining and all, what I?m really dying to see are pictures of Billy Ray integrating himself into Elizabeth?s world in London. I mean, can you imagine present day Billy Ray Cyrus hanging out with Sir Elton John, frolicking in the Maldives, or partying in Mumbai? Those pictures would be priceless. They say opposites attract, but it only works long term if both partners are willing to enter the other one?s world. Omg, I think I just figured it out. Liz isn?t in a Cowboy Era, she?s in her Hallmark Christmas Movie Era, cosplaying the city girl who falls in love with the country boy.
