Putting aside their differences for the sake of their child, Halle Berry and her ex Gabriel Aubry took their daughter Nahla to a pumpkin patch in Simi Valley, California today (October 1).
The "Cloud Atlas" star was cute and casual and a t-shirt, cutoff denim shorts, black boots, and a fedora as she waded through a sea of pumpkins with her little girl.
Though the two parents seemed to get along at the pumpkin patch, a legal battle continues to rage in the background over custody of Nahla.
Recently, Halle's attorney has been arguing that the 46-year-old star should be able to move to France and retain primary custody of the minor child because there are stricter laws regarding the paparazzi there.
However, the recent scandal over Kate Middleton's topless photos will certainly provide more fodder for Gabriel's defense.

Spending some quality time with her family, January Jones headed to lunch with her mother and son in Los Angeles today (October 1).
The "Mad Men" star wore a black t-shirt, matching leggings, and flip-flops as she carried baby Xander in her arms.
After having her little boy in mid-September, the busy actress had to get back to her pre-baby body quickly.
So what was her secret to success? In an interview with People.com, the 34-year-old mother-of-one revealed that eating her own placenta was part of the regimen. She explained, "Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins. It?s something I was very hesitant about, but we?re the only mammals who don?t ingest our own placentas.?
Perhaps anticipating the reaction, she added, "It's not witch-crafty or anything. I suggest it to all moms.?

Flashing a big smile to awaiting photographers, Victoria Justice arrived at LAX airport to catch a flight today (October 1).
The "Victorious" star wore a maroon t-shirt with "GEEK" on it, blue jeans, and black boots as she made her way inside.
While in the airport, she took time out to greet a fellow Hollywood star. She tweeted, "Don't usually do this... but hey, it's the 1 & only Gary Oldman! Haha." with a photo of her and the English actor.
Recently, the 19-year-old actress-singer spent time in the studio for an unannounced project. She tweeted, "In the studio today w/ @mattrad recording something fun :{). Can?t wait 4 u all 2 hear it!"

In an interview with Billboard Magazine (via Radar), Christina Aguilera talks about the time she succumbed to the pressure of being thin. To everyone’s dismay, she’s conquered that little problem, but back in 2002 while promotingStripped she explained,”I got tired of being a skinny, white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl.”
After the tour, Christina gained 15 pounds and the label execs freaked out. Did they see a fatter Christina walk into the room, make a cross with their fingers and hiss at her? Kind of.”They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight. Basically, they told me I would effect a lot of people if I gained weight — the production, musical directors.”
Being so young, Christina believed the 15 pounds would drive fans away and affect the lives of hundreds of people. By 2006 for herBack to Basicsalbum, she was “toothpick thin.”
Only last year did she feel comfortable enough to be who she really is. A fatty. While working on her upcoming albumLotus, “I told them [the execs]…’You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.’”
Finally, the first step in recovery is acceptance so it was nice to hear Christina Aguilera admit she’s a fat girl. She went on,”My body can’t put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore?my body is just not on the table that way anymore.”
Aw, crap. That sounds like good news for her as it seems she won’t be succumbing to peer pressure anymore but it sounds like bad news for us because she may have just given up on ever getting back into shape. So, if you’re wondering, yes, I am cuddling up with old pictures of Christina while Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing plays in the background.

Speaking at the Life is Love eventbenefitingthe Somaly Mam Foundationg, an organization hoping to end modern slavery and human trafficking, AnnaLynne McCord (90210) recounted her own experience of sexual assault. It was her way of relating to what these girls go through multiple times a day.
“I had a very similar experience to what these girls go through 20 times a night,” she said of the victimized young women and girls the foundation aims to help. “It happened to me once by somebody that I knew, and it is a very interesting thing to feel that you do not have the voice to say ‘no.’ It wasn’t an attack or anything like that — I just had no voice. I did not know how to say, ‘I don’t want this. Please do not do this to me.’”
McCord explained that “it was a situation where I found myself in my own home being hospitable, and that hospitality was taken advantage of at an extreme level. I did not have a voice, and now I do, and I’m practicing using my voice for others. Finally I can say I was taken advantage of — not from my own shame that I did something to deserve that — and now I can have a clear conscience.”
I was going to write she was date raped, but as you can see it didn’t sound like much of a date. Calling it a “date” would almost be insulting.

She?s been on a bit of a rollercoaster between stick thin and voluptuous over the years, and Christina Aguilera is tired of the focus on her weight.
In a new interview, the ?Ain?t No Other Man? singer laments the constant public scrutiny over what size she is at any given time.
Christina began, "During the promotion of my album Stripped [in 2002], I got tired of being a skinny white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl,"
"The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings!... Let me tell you, that wasn't an easy pill for them to swallow. I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my Stripped tour [with Justin Timberlake, 31]. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight. Basically, they told me I would affect a lot of people if I gained weight -- the production, musical directors."
And given her new curvy shape, Aguilera isn?t making any apologies. "I told them during this Lotus recording, 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.? My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore -- my body is just not on the table that way anymore."

Ben Affleck was interviewed by Access Hollywood to promote Argo, a film about the true story of the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. (He’s interviewed in two parts, videos are here and here and also below.) It’s out October 12. I’m actually getting excited for the film and hope it earns him at least an Oscar nod for directing. So far it has an impressive 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On Access, Ben said a few things we’ve heard before about how he feels like he’s come a long way in his career and personal life in the past 10 years. I find him to be sincere, charming and genuine, but I know a lot of you disagree.
Let’s discuss Ben’s reaction to his wife Jennifer Garner’s statement that he has “wonder sperm.” In case you missed it, Garner told Ellen Degeneres that she considered herself done with having children, with the caveat that “my husband is kind of a wonder sperm kind of guy. You never know. You just have [to] look at him” The Access Hollywood interviewer, Shaun Robinson, asked Ben what he thought about this, and then made the hilarious move of then staring at him pointedly as if he could get her pregnant on the spot. It was funny!
Ben got flustered and said “I like the role reversal now. It’s usually me that says the like outrageous thing. They ask her the thing and she has to justify it. Is that what she said, really? That’s something. I’m going to put that on the poster for Argo” He looked kind of embarrassed at that point. Jenn must not have given him a heads up or anything!
On whether he wanted more kids, Ben hinted that he did (which Jennifer has also said before) but that it was up to her. “I think being a good husband means that you’re not the boss. We’re very very happy with it.”
In the second part of his interview with Access Hollywood, Ben discusses Argo and you can tell he freaking loved making that movie. He gets all excited discussing it and praises the scriptwriter especially. Ben revealed how George Clooney, his co-producer, brought him the script and joked “He and his partner, Grant – and I mean his producing partner not his life partner although sometimes I don’t know with those two – he and Grant sent the script and said ‘Hey you want to do it?’… next thing I knew it was off and running.”
Ben got rolling at that point talking about 70s hair and clothing, and said he was going for an Andy Gibb vibe. Scroll to 2:50 in this video to see him unbutton his shirt a little. Take it off Ben!

Anyway, continuing with our ongoing series, ?Salma Hayek is pretty much like Goop these days, only somehow WORSE,? she has a new-ish interview with Stylist. You can read the full thing here (it?s very, very long), and here are some highlights:
Coming to Hollywood from Mexico: ?They thought I was crazy. You have to remember that at that time, there was no-one working in Hollywood who was Mexican. It was like a taboo. Isn?t that crazy? You could not get a job if you were Mexican. The people I was auditioning for would make fun of Mexico and frankly, would make fun of me too, like, ?What are you doing here?? It was humiliating. I felt, ?How stupid of them not to give someone a chance because they are from another country.? I was shocked. I hadn?t experienced discrimination before, but even if I had, it would still be stupid. It doesn?t change how stupid it is, discrimination, whether you have experienced it before or for the first time. It doesn?t justify it ? it?s just dumb.
Typecasting Latinas: ?Many times it made me want to give up. Like anybody in any job, you confront mediocrity ? and I am sure every woman can identify with what I am saying ? there are so many times when the choices of people in charge are silly, yet you are helpless. For example, I had many situations where they would say, ?That was brilliant. If you were American, you would definitely have got the job. If you could get rid of your accent, you would be perfect.? That?s silly. If I moved you, if this character would gain something by my interpretation, what do you care? I would understand if the role was for a Norwegian model ? I?m wrong for the part. But if the role is a waitress, sometimes they would say, ?It?s not a Mexican waitress.? So they would say ?no?. I think I changed it. I think Jennifer [Lopez], myself and Penlope [Cruz] changed it. That generation. We had it tough. Now it?s a lot easier.
Being broke, wearing Chanel: ?At some point, here in LA, I went completely broke, and I remember looking at my designer clothes, they were so expensive ? I was very much into Chanel at the time ? but I knew I couldn?t pay the rent with them. I would go to auditions in Chanel too but they didn?t get me parts or pay the rent. I remember realising how useless the designer clothes were. I needed a job ? it was hard.?
Advice to women: ?You have to believe in yourself. You have to take care of yourself, work for yourself, believe in yourself, and also be patient with yourself. Learn when not to push too hard, and give yourself a break. Make sure that what you want is what you want, and not what society expects of you, or how you can impress the idiots. It?s what you want.?
How she defines feminism: ?It means being proud of being a woman, and [having] love, respect and admiration and the belief in our strong capacities. I don?t think we are the same, women and men. We?re different. But I don?t think we are less than men. There are more women than men in the world ? ask any single woman! So it is shocking that men are in more positions of power.?
American violence, Mexican violence: ?[Violence] is a reality. I do wish there were other realities shown about my country, but the redemption with this is that at least it shows that the Americans are just as involved. There are tens of thousands of deaths in Mexico, but do you know where they get the arms? They all come from America, and no-one talks about it. It?s disturbing to the point where you can?t sleep. It?s even more disturbing when you think that it actually happens. Have you heard about the city of Jurez? The women that disappear? Over 600 women, between the ages of 16 and 24, cut into pieces, mutilated, burned. This has been happening for a long time.?
Playing a character (in Savages) who is trapped in her house: ?She?s in jail. A little bit like fame. I forget I?m famous. I live in France and the French are too cool to display any kind of excitement if you are famous, especially where I live, so I completely forget. I have it good.?
Where she?s happiest: ?I am happiest with my family in the country, whether it?s my ranch or the country house close to Paris. I like the outdoors, I love gardens, plants, trees. I?ll go for a hike, or take a run in the park. I like the simplicity and the complexity of nature, and the beauty. I love the different seasons, because I grew up by the beach where it was always hot. Or I really enjoy a good football match. I adore it. I know I should be saying, ?I love my shopping sprees,? but that?s what I like. I love soccer. It?s something that ignites my fire. I become very, very passionate and, at the same time, very emotional about it. I?m tough, but it?s one of the few things that can make me cry.?

I tend to think Salma plays a little fast and loose with the details of how ?broke? she was when she first came to Hollywood. She comes from a wealthy family, she was already a famous actress in Mexico, and while her family might not have been supporting her financially in LA, SHE STILL HAD CHANEL CLOTHES. I?m sorry, but any story about poverty which includes the phrase ?I was very much into Chanel at the time? IS NOT A STORY ABOUT POVERTY. It’s like saying, “I was once so poor, I was only living on the interest from my investments.” #richbitchproblems

Gwyneth Paltrow officially turned 40 years old over the weekend, but unlike us peasants, Goop would have us know that she looks better now than she did when she was 24. Goop also celebrated her birthday in grand style by taking a boat ride because if it’s good enough for Beyonce, it’s good enough for Goop. She and the family (including Chris Martin, who is not pictured here, but you can see him glaring at the camera over at the Mail) took a lovely trip to Italy where they spent an enchanting day and evening on the luminous waters of Portofino. It was truly a delightful adventure that can only be topped by an invigorating run around one’s own wood-burning oven in the garden at home. But everything is more illuminating on holiday, right?
In these photos, I cannot help but notice the lady in the striped shirt, who seems to be an assistant of some sorts. Does Goop even speak to her? I would hope so.
In other Goop news, Gwyneth has offered up her latest addition to the “Goop Collection” of luxury items for the peasants. Here is the $225 “Goop clutch” designed by Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow. The clutch is made of dark brown and turquoise leather and “complemented by a brushed gold trim that claps shut with a jaguar head.” If you told me a decade ago that Gwyneth and Nicole would be working together, I’d have laughed my ass off. Obviously, this clutch is overpriced (and rather ugly too), but that silly $270 acrylic tray is sold out, so this will probably sell like hotcakes too. Seriously, who buys this crap?
Mostly, I think this party was about Goop getting drunk on a boat because, let’s face it, getting drunk on land is so peasanty.

A year ago, my mom finally got her handicapped decals for her car. She doesn?t use a wheelchair or anything, she just falls down a lot. That sounds like a joke, but it?s not. My mom is very accident-prone, and her balance is awful, so her doctor finally gave her a decal so that she wouldn?t have to walk so much. She loves her handicap decal. Even before my mom got it, I always felt really strongly about non-handicapped people parking in handicap parking spaces. Those spaces are there for a reason, and that reason isn?t so some holier-than-thou actress can pick up her dry cleaning without having to walk an extra few steps. But that?s just what January Jones did!
These are pics of January last Thursday, picking up her dry cleaning in West Hollywood. She didn?t have her baby with her, she was alone in her SUV. She just felt like parking in the handicap spot, and so she did. I guess I should find an excuse to try to explain her actions? well, the spot doesn?t look very well-marked. The sign on the pavement is very faded, and it looks like skaters or anarchists have stickered over the actual sign above the parking spot. Still, it?s pretty f?king obvious that it?s a handicap spot. I just loathe when people do this. I don?t care if you?re January Jones or Miley Cyrus or Usher. Just stop it.
I?ll tell you something else that bugs me? parking spots for parents with children at the grocery store. I?m fine with handicap spots, and pregnant-woman ?stork? parking spots. But I don?t get why half of the spots up front at the grocery store are specially marked for parents with children. Being a parent and bringing your children to the grocery store IS NOT A PHYSICAL DISABILITY. There is no medical reason why they need spots up front. It?s only about convenience for the parents, to which I say? when can the childfree get some convenient parking spaces too?

Christina Aguilera covers in the Sept. 29 issue of Billboard magazine to promote her upcoming record, Lotus, which releases on November 13. Interestingly enough, Billboard’s review of the “Your Body” single describes the song as possessing “wince-worthy lyrics about anonymous sex” with nothing else noteworthy to bring to the table, which was the general consensus on this site as well. Yesterday, Kaiser covered the video, which was pretty tacky and kind of ruined the song for me. Still, Christina promises in this interview that Lotus (unlike Bionic) will “remind music lovers of her true talent.” But she’s still defending Bionic too, which we’ll discuss below.
The better part of the interview revolves around Christina’s surprisingly candid statements on her weight. Christina’s previously spoken of her new body in terms of loving her new curves because, in her words, “the challenge I’ve always had is being too thin.” Now she elaborates a bit more on that challenge, which she says was actually down to her record company’s demands that she be very thin. Here, she frames the issue not so much as a “gain” but as a return to where her body naturally resides on the scale. I guess she’s not really accounting for the effect of alcohol, but she otherwise makes a lot of sense on the issue. She really was pretty skinny while promoting Back to Basics, but she now says that she took a bold stand against her record company and basically told them to just “deal with” her new weight because she doesn’t plan on changing anything. She’s got a point — a successful pop star doesn’t need to be skinny. Just look at Adele, right? Here’s some excerpts from the interview:

Why Bionic flopped: “I can proudly say [Bionic] was ahead of its time, to be honest. It wasn’t so commercialized. You had to really be a music lover, be a true fan of music and the love of being open to really appreciate that record. It’s just a special piece in my body of work that will forever live on. The older the record gets the more people will come to appreciate it actually and check it out.”
On new beginnings: “This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years.”
Her songwriting is getting better? “Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with Stripped, I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message. And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.”

Over the weekend, Anne Hathaway married her non-shady boyfriend Adam Shulman at a private residence in Big Sur, California. Wearing a Valentino dress, Hathaway tied the knot in front of more than 150 family and friends.
“Anne was ecstatic with how everything turned out and so in love with Adam. She was walking on air and never stopped smiling. He was doting on her, rubbing her back and helping her with her dress every step she took. At the party, they went around hugging and kissing all of their guests, making sure to say hello. They had a wonderful time and it definitely seemed like the best day of their lives.”
The couple’s nuptials took place in a marquee set up for the occasion surrounded by tall pine trees. All the decor was vintage and nature-inspired with branches and twigs, and there were ivory colored roses set up on wooden tables inside the tent. E!
Though you wouldn’t know it was so picturesque just by looking at the photos. It looks like they were in the middle of the dessert and at least one of them was about to find their way into a shallow grave.

Malin Akerman's baby bump is starting to show, and she wanted the world to see it while out for a little retail therapy in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday (September 29).
The ?27 Dresses? actress dressed for pregnancy comfort, wearing a black tank top and denim shorts, as she hit up the local American Apparel store.
Malin?s afternoon shopping session comes just before big evening performance at the 2012 Environmental Media Awards.

Building a life together is hard for a couple, but Halle Berry and fiance Olivier Martinez took a big step in the right direction, as they spent the day house hunting in Malibu on Saturday (September 29).
The "Monster's Ball" actress was clearly going for comfort in the California heat, wearing a loose-fitting gray t-shirt, cutoff denim shorts, and flip flops, while her French beau sported a gray t-shirt of his own, brown belt, and cuffed blue jeans.
This October, you can see the 46-year-old star in "Cloud Atlas," where she portrays a variety of women from different races and time periods, even taking a turn as a Korean male doctor.
Joining Ms. Berry in the epic film is Tom Hanks, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D'Arcy, Zhou Xun, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, and Hugh Grant.

With her most recent movie "Prometheus" set to be released on Blu-ray on October 9th, Charlize Theron garnered herself a little added overseas exposure by covering the October 2012 issue of Italy's Max magazine.
The 37-year-old actress looks flawless for the Bruno Dayan shot front page while dishing about everything from her roots in South Africa to being a mom to adopted son, Jackson.

On her identity:
"Afrikaners are pure, of German descent, Boer and Dutch. I love South Africa. I commit myself by such in thousands of social causes, the same as Mandela and Mr. Mthombeni, activist mayor of the province Umkhanyakude, the poorest of the country."
On her private time:
"When I get home, I put on my sweatpants and feed my dogs. Back to being normal, I do what everyone does."
On moving to Los Angeles at age 18 after an unsuccessful go at modeling:
"It is thanks to you and the world of Italian fashion that I realized that I was not liked."
On being a mom to her adopted child, Jackson :
"I always wanted to have children. Recently my mother found a letter I wrote when I was 8 years old, where I asked her to take me to the orphanage because I wanted to adopt a little brother. So it's not been a decision taken lightly. When I hold my baby in my arms I forget every problem. I love it, it makes me gentle and serene."
