The judge in Lindsay Lohan’s case, Jim Dabney, tore Lindsay’s attorney Mark Heller a new one today calling him incompetent to practice law in California. Dabney said Lindsay has to get new lawyers who know what they’re doing or go into court and waive her right to a competent California lawyer.
The judge informed Mark Heller he screwed up the legal docs he filed by not following California law … and the motion to dismiss charges was DENIED. Heller tried to blame the previous lawyer, but his paperwork was so screwed up … his argument fell on deaf ears.
The judge went on to say Heller doesn’t have a clue about criminal law, questioning his competence to handle the case. The California lawyer who’s sponsoring Heller to appear in Lindsay’s case didn’t show up today, and the judge made note of that … not that it would really matter, because the sponsor never practiced law a day in her life. TMZ
Lindsay will be headed to trial on March 18 where her shaman lawyer will face off against prosecutor Terry White who probably thinks this is the easiest case he’ll ever try.
Afterward, Heller held a press conference outside the courthouse. He tried to spin the story saying the judge probably didn’t mean he’s incompetent incompetent just that things are handled differently in California than in New York.
Aw, how adorable. Blissfully ignorant but adorable.
Mark added,”Having become a lawyer over 44 YEARS AGO, I certainly know the important issues.” Then he made the universal sign for money by rubbing his two fingers together.

Hard at work on the new season of ?Germany?s Next Top Model,? Heidi Klum hit the beach in Hawaii yesterday afternoon (February 28).

You know that I rarely recommend reading Gwyneth Paltrow?s weekly Goop-letter. I got tired of reading them a long time ago, and these days I go out of my way to avoid covering them. Gwyneth is what she is ? an out-of-touch elitist snob deigning to advise the peasants ? and while I?m sure she?s kind of bored with this whole Goop project at this point, it?s her ?thing? and she feels obligated to continue giving us the gift of Goop. It?s Gwyneth?s sense of noblesse oblige.
This week?s Goop is half-decent, but only because she comes close to admitting a small flaw! She admits WAY at the end of the post, after she lets some of her fashion friends talk about what Spring/Summer 2013 is going to look like in fashion. At the end of the Goop-letter, Gwyneth does a short Q&A (with herself, I think) about her style, her Oscars looks, and whether she?s ever made a (GASP) fashion faux pax.
What inspires your style?
Gwyneth: I am most inspired by women friends who are incredibly stylish in their own way. Stella McCartney always looks amazing. She has a way of making you covet her sweatpants and t-shirt, she just wears clothes so well. I love Rashida Jones’ hot nerd vibe and Beyonce?s playfulness in trying different trends. I love Cameron Diaz’s ability to rock silver nails and layer tons of tiny gold jewelry. I am also very inspired by street style in London where I have lived pretty much for 10 years.
Q:What are your favorite fashion moments?
Gwyneth: I have to say that since I started working with stylist Elizabeth Saltzman and have put my red carpet looks in her hands, I think they are all pretty maje. I can say this because I have just about nothing to do with it. Standouts for me are the Pink Prada dress at the 2011 Venice Film Festival, and of course the white Tom Ford from the Oscars last year.
Q: Any fashion faux pas?
Gwyneth: Well, I started being photographed in the 90?s so of course there are a few glaring ones. Two that come to mind are looks I wore to the Oscars in 2000 and 2002. The first is the Calvin Klein. It’s an okay dress but not Oscars material. I chose it because I wanted to disappear that year. Also, the goth Alexander McQueen I wore a few years later. There were a few issues; I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to – a little bit of punk at the Oscars.

I still don?t find anything of value in that goth McQueen look ? I don?t think a bra would have helped, nor a hair change. It was just the wrong dress on the wrong woman. The Calvin Klein cocktail dress? I actually had no memory of that. So she did successfully disappear that year (eye-roll).

I?m worried about Kim Kardashian! Sort of. I?m worried that Kim has been paying too much attention to what we?ve been saying about her pregnancy and how it seems like she?s carrying the baby in her ass. I?m worried that Kim is conscious of it now and she?s making more of an effort to cover her ass nowadays. We broke the story … Kim and Kanye bought a $9 million, Bel Air, CA mansion on January 30th. It hasn’t even been a month, and they’ve received 3 offers from people who want the estate so badly … they’re willing to pay A LOT more. The highest offer — $10.5 million.
Sources directly connected to Kim and Kanye tell TMZ … the couple turned all 3 offers down — they’re already deep in the throes of remodeling and they plan to move in a few months from now. There’s a report out that they sold the estate — not true.
The main house will be 14,000 square feet. After all, they’re having a baby.

The California real estate market is so funky. I don?t want to believe that all of these people are willing to pay so much for a property just because it briefly belonged to Kim and Kanye, but I do think that?s a factor. I remember looking at photos of the property ? it?s beautiful and lovely and all of that, but once you?re in the $8-10 million real estate range, you?re getting all of the same beautiful add-ons, you know? What I?m saying is that these people should take a look around and check out similar properties which probably cost several million dollars less.
Last Kardashian story ? Hollywood Life?s sources claim that Kim has decided that Khloe will be the baby girl?s godmother. I?m sure that will make Khloe really happy. For real.

I?m really glad that my theory about Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen?s breakup didn?t create some kind of fan-war. I wasn?t making some kind of judgment on Rachel or on ladies in general, I was talking about this case specifically, and I still think that Rachel and Michael split up because he was fine with the way things were ? dating, living together, nothing formal ? and she wanted marriage and babies and a more ?traditional? arrangement. And now here?s People Magazine confirming my theory ? they say Michael didn?t want any more kids (he has a teenage daughter with Kate Beckinsale) and he wants to focus on his career.
There’s no bad blood between Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen. The exes simply “have different visions for the future,” a source tells PEOPLE about the pair, whose split was confirmed on Wednesday after two years of dating.
“Rachel wants to settle down and is dreaming of having a family. Michael always seemed content with their relationship. Since he already has a daughter [Lily, 14, with Kate Beckinsale], he feels no need to have more children. He wants to focus on his career.”
“They still have some contact and are friendly,” the source adds, but it was their differences that eventually led to the demise of their relationship.
“They tried to work things out, but at the end they just couldn’t agree,” the insider says. “It caused some frustration and they thought it was better to go separate ways.”
McAdams, 34, and Sheen, 45, first met on the set of Woody Allen’s 2010 romantic comedy Midnight in Paris. They acknowledged their romance in 2011 by walking arm-in-arm at the Cannes Film Festival.

I don?t really get fan-girly about Rachel McAdams most of the time ? I like her a lot but I?ve just never considered her one of my main Celebrities To Love ? but I think Michael is making a huge mistake by letting Rachel go. SHE is the girl a man wants to marry, you know? This is the girl for settling down and having babies. And I?ll say it ? I think less of Michael because he?s letting her go and not putting up a fight. She?s worth more than that. God, I feel like writing a romantic comedy about this. This is the part where Rachel cries in the bathtub while listening to Adele. In the second act, she meets Tom Hardy/Eric Bana/ Joseph Gordon Levitt and they have a really hot one night stand and then there?s confusion and weirdness the morning after and they don?t reunite until the third act when he proposes and we tie this business up with a wedding. Also: in my rom-com, she should either be a redhead or a brunette. I?m tired of this blonde crap. It doesn?t suit her.

Here are some photos of Ben Affleck yesterday, showing off his newly shorn face with a little stubble. Ben off course shaved off his beard at a post-Oscar party, where he was likely doing tequila shots with George Clooney to numb the pain. US Weekly reported that his co-worker/wife brought some clippers with her in her purse and Ben did the deed in a hallway. You just know that he left hair laying around everywhere afterwards and that some poor worker had to sweep it up. Cleaning up hair is the worst.
Ben usually does it for me despite his extreme well-documented douchiness and constant disrespect of his wife. I thought he was really hot in Argo, in The Town, and in the crappy movies he starred in earlier in this career. (Although Forces of Nature wasn’t bad. I love Sandra Bullock.) Ben was looking especially manly to me with that beard, and I can imagine being Garner and dealing with his issues in exchange for the sexy times, if only in theory. In practice it’s probably just as much work as he’s making it out to be.
Without the beard he’s not as hot to me, and that’s weird because I usually like clean cut guys. (And bald guys! And Ben is usually neither.) Maybe it’s this doofy outfit he’s wearing, a too-big jacket over a checked shirt with jeans. (US Weekly has a better photo here.) This is some late 80s throwback outfit, when preppy was in. All he needs are some boat shoes to complete the look. He probably had a business meeting or something, but he could have kept it business casual and not as dorky.
In comparison, here he is just before the Oscars looking rugged as hell. Mmmm.
Then this. Ok, I take it back he’s still hot. Just not AS hot. My opinion of him has changed though too, I have to say.

Here are some new photos of Halle Berry at the Chicago premiere of her new film, The Call. I don?t know who made Halle?s little black dress ? it doesn?t look new, does it? This looks like something she?s had in her closet since the 1990s, not that there?s anything wrong with that. Halle was at the premiere with her costar Morris Chestnut (that man is FINE) and no Olivier Martinez. Hunh. It feels like it?s been a while since we?ve seen Olivier and Halle out together, but maybe that?s just because I haven?t been paying attention to her recently.
Maybe Olivier didn?t come out for this premiere is because? who does first premieres in Chicago these days? Maybe the film was set in Chicago (?), but it wasn?t filmed there, so I don?t really get it. The off-the-radar premiere might not bode well for the film, which doesn?t look that amazing anyway. I mean, if you?re into budget-looking suspense-horror-thrillers, then you might be into this:
Eh. I would watch it on TV. It?s been a while since Halle?s had a hit movie, right? Her box office appeal has always been hit-or-miss. Maybe this was just a cheap film to make and they?re barely spending any money on promotion and then they?ll just sell it like crazy overseas and it will make some money.
Incidentally, as I mentioned in that Fassbender post earlier today, Halle is rumored to be joining the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past, revisiting her role as Storm. I can?t imagine this will be some meaty role, but it might be interesting.

When she?s not busy boning random husbands and fiancs (seriously!), January Jones loves to talk about eating her own placenta. Did I say that incorrectly? She ate the placenta that came with her son Xander. Last year she talked about it with People Magazine, saying: ?I have a great doula who makes sure I?m eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation. Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins. It?s something I was very hesitant about, but we?re the only mammals who don?t ingest our own placentas. It?s not witch-crafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!? Many people slammed her for talking about eating her placenta, but if we?re discussing January Jones? Mistakes In Life, I believe freeze-drying and eating a placenta is far down the list. So, January covers the new issue of Glamour UK (the April issue), and she?s still talking about placentas.
She hit headlines and divided opinion when she admitted she had consumed her own placenta following the birth of her son Xander. But now January Jones has come forward to reveal the reasons behind her somewhat unorthodox decision, saying that dehydrating the organ and eating it in the form of vitamin capsules helped her beat her baby blues.
Speaking to Britain’s Glamour magazine, January, 35, said that while her revelation caused a stir, she would recommend the pills to any expectant mother. She said: ‘I should never have told anyone about that. But it?s not gross or witchcrafty. Nor am I putting it in a shake or eating it raw. It?s a very civilised thing that can help women with depression or fatigue. I was never depressed or sad or down after the baby was born, so I?d highly suggest it to any pregnant woman.’
The placenta, an organ attached to the lining of the womb during pregnancy, is known to contain high levels of vitamins, particularly vitamin B6 – known to help curb postnatal depression.
January raises her son 17-month-old Xander on her own and has never revealed the identity of her the little boy’s father, but says she hates the taboo that often comes with being a single mother.
She said: ‘People keep saying, “Oh poor you, being a single mum”. But I don?t want to be pitied. I can do anything I want to do. I work, I date, I have friends. I have time for everything I had time for before. I just have an added amazing thing in my life. I don?t think being a single mum is something I need to feel sorry about or need to go to group therapy over. It?s really a joy in my life and that?s it. I have a great family and friends, and I know they?d be there if I needed help, but I feel like I?m doing it fine on my own. Being a mum is something I always wanted to do and I love it.’
January, who recently split from film director Noah Miller after a brief relationship, also spoke about her romance history, admitting that while she would love to date someone outside of her industry, it is too hard to meet people away from her work life.
The Mad Men star, who has dated stars including Ashton Kutcher and Jason Sudeikis in the past, said: ‘There was a time in my life when I said I?d never date another actor. But it?s hard to meet people outside of my job. In life, you tend to date the people who are around you, people you see every day. Unfortunately, it?s difficult to date someone who does our job, because it?s so transient. You?re never in the same place for long.’
And asked to describe her ideal man, January replied: ‘I don?t really have a type. But someone who is kind is important to me. Someone who I can have a laugh with, someone to trust.’

This ^ is an image from Taylor Swift?s InStyle UK photo shoot for the April issue. It doesn?t look too groundbreaking or anything, so let?s just skip ahead to what she said in the interview. Swifty was asked about writing so many songs about her exes, and Swifty admitted that she?s waiting for one of her exes to write a song about her in retaliation too: “If I’m gonna write songs about my exes they can write songs about me. That’s how it works. I’m not gonna complain about it. I’m not gonna sit there and say, ‘I’m the only one who can write songs about this relationship’. It’s fair game.” OMG, was that the point of all of this all along? Did Swifty just want some validation by having one of her exes write a song about her?! Did she want John Mayer or Joe Jonas or Harry Styles to write some kind of dude-anthem version of ?You?re So Vain??
In other Swifty news, she might have finally gotten her claws into Ed Sheeran. Ed and Taylor have been friendly for a while, and they?re going to be touring together this year too. There were even some hookup/dating rumors about them last October, just after Swifty and Conor Kennedy broke up. And now this? Swifty and Ed spent the night together in London? Oh, God.
Taylor Swift , be careful. Ed Sheeran might turn those tables and write a song about you! Well, that’s a bit presumptuous to say at this point. But Harry Styles’ ex did spend most of the night Feb. 19 with this adorably cute, redheaded British boy.
A witness tells E! News that the night before the 2013 Brit Awards (where Taylor performed in a wedding dress and then stripped down to a skintight black ensemble) Ed arrived at Taylor’s hotel and went straight to her room. From there, the twosome “stayed in the room, just the two of them, until around 4 a.m.,” according to a source.
When Ed left the hotel, he got into the car that Taylor had used earlier in the day and was driven away.
Another source tells E! News that Taylor and Ed “briefly dated last spring. He thinks she is really cute and they have a great chemistry together.”
They definitely get along well. Ed collaborated with Taylor on “Everything Has Changed ” which is featured on her Red album. They’ve also performed together and, of course, are both friends with One Direction’s Harry Styles.
On Ed’s birthday, Feb. 17, Taylor, 23, tweeted, “So. One of my favorite human beings on the planet turns 22 today. I hope @edsheeran has the most perfect show in LA tonight! HAPPY BDAYYYY.”
The next day, Ed tweeted Taylor back with a lyric from her song “22,” writing, ” I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling pretty damn 22 right about now.”
This is looking good. Fortunately for the future of catchy pop singles, Ed is opening Taylor’s tour this March through September. That leaves plenty of time for potential romance, possible breakups and so much more! We can’t wait.

And while Ed is cute and talented, he doesn?t really fit the Harry Styles/Conor Kennedy/Jake Gyllenhaal mold. So while I don?t doubt that Tay-Tay and Ed cuddlefested until 4 am, I have doubts that Ed will be her next big romance.
Does anyone else think it?s interesting that Taylor has basically been camped out in London since the BRIT Awards? I think she?s still stalking Harry, I really do. She can?t believe that he dumped her and moved on so quickly. I also think she?s looking for another British boyfriend to wave around in Harry?s face.

Here are some photos of Michelle Williams at last night?s UK premiere of Oz the Great and Powerful. She?s wearing Burberry Prorsum, one of my favorite labels to see on any red carpet. I?ve been staring at these photos of her dress for a while, trying to figure it out. Is her entire dress made up of peacock feathers? Or are they faux peacock feathers? Whatever is happening, it?s a gorgeous and lux effect. My least favorite part of this look? Her hair. But I won?t complain about it too much because Michelle recently admitted that she?s growing it out and this current mid-stage is ?insufferable?. I don?t really understand why she felt the need to give herself such a close crop in the back, but whatever.
This publicity tour for Oz comes during the same week in which Michelle?s breakup with Jason Segel was announced. Coincidence? Or is all part of Michelle?s PR? And trust me ? Michelle engages in PR and media games just as much as any other celebrity. I feel the same way about Jennifer Garner ? it?s not that I don?t believe Garner loves being a ?normal mom,? etc, I just think that some part of it is also a media strategy, an angle, a public persona. And so to with Michelle ? her public persona is The Widow Ledger, the Brave, Fragile, Virginal Single Mom. When Michelle first began dating Jason, Us Weekly ran a suspicious story which completely white-washed Michelle?s post-Heath dating past and promoted this ?Brave, Fragile Widow? image (which went hand-in-hand with her Oscar campaign last year too). And now that Michelle and Jason are over, a new strategy is in play:
From the outside, it seemed as though Michelle Williams couldn’t get enough of boyfriend Jason Segel. In reality, the actress may not have seen him as forever material.
“She cares a great deal for Jason but is not ready to make a commitment,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Maybe if they were together day-to-day, she would have more confidence in a future. But not at this time.”
Dating for a year, PEOPLE confirmed on Tuesday that the pair called it quits, citing long distance as the primary reason.
“Jason never got rid of his place in L.A., and Michelle’s life with [daughter] Matilda was and has always been in New York,” a second source says. “While Jason made every effort to make them a priority in his life ? and they were top priority ? he still couldn’t drop everything and leave his life and career in L.A.”
The road to romance has not been an easy one for Williams, 32.
The actress’s ex, Heath Ledger, was found dead of an accidental prescription drug overdose in 2008, less than a year after they split. Left to care for their daughter alone, Williams stayed out of the spotlight, but began dating director Spike Jonze for about a year. Following their split, she didn’t have a public romance again until Segel, 33, in 2012.

Will people stop liking or caring about Michelle if they learn that she?s slept with more than two dudes since Heath? Really? Is that what Michelle?s publicist thinks? Because Michelle was dating other men after she and Heath broke up, and she also dated Cary Fukunaga after Spike Jonze. But I guess they don?t count because it wasn?t a ?public romance?. As for the ?reasons? why Michelle and Jason split ? sure. That?s coming from her publicist, you know. Which makes me suspicious because? why does Michelle need to put that out there? Here stands another day in the Miley Cyrus/Liam Hemsworth/January Jones “did they, or didn’t they?” saga. To recap, Liam and January were spotted suspiciously sharing a car ride home after a pre-Oscars party at the Chateau Marmont on Saturday evening. Miley was not in attendance at this event, and she didn’t take Liam with her when she went to Elton John’s Oscar party the following evening. So for whatever reason, Liam ended up alone inside a car with January, and early previews of this week’s issue of Star revealed allegations that Liam and January were pawing each other at the party and even locked lips. A lot of people also thought that Liam was the guy in Lainey’s blind item who just happened to be too young to be engaged and stepping out on his betrothed.
Now the full story has appeared in Star. In addition to the details about Liam and January’s supposed behavior before they were photographed droving off together into the night, we’re getting word of Miley’s alleged “single” behavior at Elton’s party. Further, Star claims that “friends say Liam hates Miley’s punky new look,” which honestly wouldn’t surprise me. I think Miley looks fine, but Liam did get with her when she looked very different from how she does now. Here are the details:
“Where’s Miley Cyrus?” That’s what onlookers were whispering on Feb. 23, when Liam Hemsworth spent the evening flirting up a storm with “Mad Men” actress January Jones at a pre-Oscars party at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. “It looked like they had some hot chemistry,” reports an eyewitness at the event. “They were all over each other — and they even kissed!”
After steaming up the soiree, the pair left together. “Liam got January’s coat and helped her put it on, then they headed outside,” adds the source. “They made sure to leave a few seconds apart, so they wouldn’t attract too much attention. Theyn they jumped into a waiting car and took off.”
Of course, Liam, 23, is engaged to Miley — and their top-secret wedding is rumored to be happening in Palm Springs, Calif., in June. But lately, there have been rumblings that the couple are on the rocks and after Liam’s lusty outing with January, 35, friends are wondering if the wedding is still on!
While Miley, 20, skipped the party with Liam, she did attend another Oscars bash the next night, thrown by Elton John’s AIDS Foundation. “Miley was all over the place,” a party guest tells Star. “She certainly gave off the impression that she’s single. Someone even asked her how Liam was doing, and she said she doesn’t care how he’s doing!”
That’s obviously a strange response from someone about to be married. But strange behavior is nothing new for Miley. While at New York Fashion Week in mid-February, sources say Miley partied nonstop. “She was fliring with every guy and girl in sight,” an insider says, “Especially the models!”
January, meanwhile, has a reputation for romancing unavailable men. In addition to high-profile exes Ashton Kutcher, Josh Groban and Jason Sudeikis, she has reportedly been linked to married celebrity chef Bobby Flay and supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s husband, producer Matthew Vaughn. But regardless of her history, January can’t take full blame for the hookup. “Miley is not the girl Liam fell in love with,” says a friend. “She’s turned into an embarrassment.”

Just to point out a glaring error in this story, January wasn’t wearing a coat that evening, but that erroneous detail might just be filler and doesn’t mean that the rest of the story isn’t true. For what it’s worth though, a Miley source has contacted E! News and to say that Liam and Miley are still “totally together,” and there’s “no drama” because they attended separate events over the weekend. Whatever. Miley would have Liam doing a photo op with her if they were still together, right?
No matter what we believe about Miley’s alleged antics in this Star story, the fact still remains that Miley’s Twitter remains dark and has been inactive since Monday, which is unheard of since Miley loves to tweet, and she regularly takes to the site to debunk gossip. There’s also an unsubtantiated rumor floating around out there that claims Miley tweeted, “Not to worry, I won’t break,” on Monday and then deleted it, so who knows.

Upon giving birth, Holly Madison will attempt to eat her placenta. Not right away, mind you. I mean, she’s not going to point to the thing after her baby pops out and ask for a knife and fork. Don’t be crazy. That’s un-ladylike.
No, instead, Holly plans to turn her placenta into pills she can take. She’ll most likely politely ask the doc to put the placenta in some tupperware after it sloughs out of her. “But why,” you scream?
Due March 5, Madison is not the first Hollywood celeb to consume so-called placenta pills, in which a woman’s placenta is cleaned, cooked, processed and put into capsule-type pills, said to help new moms nourish their bodies after chilbirth and potentially curb postpartum depression. I’ve always thought “crazy pills” was an expression people used. Now I realize they’re probably referring to pills made of placenta and that the “crazy” is merely a modifier. It’s a much more socially acceptable way to tell people you’re insane. Like, when Holly goes out of the room, her boyfriend can roll his eyes and tell dinner guests, “Oh, Holly is just taking her crazy pills,” and the guests will just assume he’s being a gigantic asshole when in fact Holly is actually taking crazy pills.
