Looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle, Hilary Duff showed up at her doctor?s office in Beverly Hills this morning (March 12).
Joined by her little boy Luca, the ?Cheaper By the Dozen? dame looked sporty in a grey tank top with bright blue stretch pants and matching sneakers as she strolled into the building.
And it seems Hilary?s life has become a bit more complicated as of late, as Luca began walking all on his own.
Duff previously tweeted, "Well, I officially have a walking baby on my hands! It's hilarious . . . the wobble makes it look like he's 3 drinks in!"

Despite previous reports that she was keen for the role, the ?Harry Potter? actress turned down the gig offered to her by Walt Disney Pictures.
As a result, Cate Blanchett is the only big name star on the roster at this point, and filming is slated to begin later this fall in London.

Halle Berry confirmed to Jay Leno last night that she will return as Storm in the nextX-Men movieDays of Future Past.
Berry said it was a great role and that “those residual checks don’t hurt.” I like it. A woman with priorities.
“It’s a character that I love and the fans really love the whole series. They really love Storm. It’s like family. It’s fun to get back together with Hugh and everybody. It’s good fun,” continued Halle.
Also great fun? Cashing that multi-million dollar check and asking the bank teller, “How many zeros was that? I just want to make sure.”

Her new movie ?The Call? hits theaters this Friday (March 15) and last night (March 11) Halle Berry showed up at ?The Tonight Show? to do a little promotion.
However, the minute the ?Monster?s Ball? babe stepped out onto the stage, host Jay Leno couldn?t keep his eyes off her sexy cutout dress.
Leno also brought up Halle?s gorgeous Oscar dress from last month. Halle explained, "I wanted to go to the Oscars looking like a Bond girl. I felt like I was wearing a Ferrari."
Pushing the flirtation even farther, Jay shot back, "I enjoy driving a Ferrari. Can you drive a stick shift?" Berry replied, "I learned on a stick shift."
Halle also confirmed that she?ll be returning for the next ?X-Men? flick as Storm. ?I don?t think I?ve really said it before? It?s a great role, and those residual checks don?t hurt! It?s a character I love...and I?d love to get back with Hugh [Jackman] and everybody.?

With their family expansion plans well underway, Prince William and Kate Middleton are looking to score some snazzy digs.
And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have received approval for renovations to be done on their new country home, a Georgian mansion named Anmer Hall.
Additionally, Will and Kate?s London apartment at Kensington Place is also getting a makeover to create a more modern feel prior to the arrival of their Royal bun in the oven.
Meanwhile, Prince William has indicated that he?ll soon make an announcement regarding his future as part of the Royal Air Force?s Search and Rescue squadron.

Back in February, English author Hilary Mantel gave a speech about Duchess Kate which was widely covered and excerpted. Mantel seemed to be slamming Kate as ?a jointed doll on which certain rags are hung? with no personality of her own, entirely defined by what she wore? painfully thin as anyone could wish, without quirks, without oddities, without the risk of the emergence of character? She appears precision-made, machine-made, so different from Diana whose human awkwardness and emotional incontinence showed in her every gesture.? Mantel compared Kate unfavorably to Anne Boleyn, saying that Boleyn had been ?a power player, a clever and determined woman? but at the end of the day, a royal wife is ?valued for her body parts, not her intellect or her soul; it was her womb that was central to her story? a royal lady is a royal vagina? at the most basic, they are breeding stock, collections of organs.?
Mantel?s comments were a big deal ? Mantel is a respected and award-winning historical novelist (specializing in royal historical fiction) and most media outlets reported Mantel?s speech as ?author slams poor Duchess Kate?. Even David Cameron chimed in. It was a big deal. But Hilary Mantel defended her comments last week, and now she?s claiming that she was merely shading the media and not Kate:
Award-winning novelist Hilary Mantel has defended her comments on the Duchess of Cambridge after saying she was becoming “a shop-window mannequin” who was “designed to breed”. The author insisted she had nothing to apologise for. The double Booker Prize winner hit the headlines last month when she referred to the duchess during a lecture at the British Museum as having no personality and appearing to have been “glossed-varnished” with a perfect smile.
In an interview on BBC Radio 3?s Night Waves programme on Thursday night, she said her words had been taken out of context and had no regrets about her comments.
“My lecture and the subsequent essay was actually supportive of the royal family and when I used those words about the Duchess of Cambridge, I was describing the perception of her which has been set up in the tabloid press,” she told presenter Anne McElvoy. “My speech ended with a plea to the press and to the media in general. I said ‘back off and don’t be brutes. Don’t do to this young woman what you did to Diana’. My whole theme was the way we maltreat royal persons, making them one superhuman and yet less than human.”
Mantel, whose latest novels are set in the Tudor court, said she believed she had been set up. She told the radio programme: “I don’t believe for one moment that there was any lack of clarity, after all, I have been practising my trade for a number of years now. It was a matter of taking the words completely out of context ? twisting the context ? and setting me up as a hate figure. I have absolutely no regrets. What I said was crystal clear.”
During the controversial lecture, organised by London Review of Books a month after her latest novel Bring up the Bodies won the Costa prize, Mantel suggested that “painfully thin” Kate was selected for her role of princess because she posed no risk of showing any character.
But she said on Radio 3: “I do think that the Duchess of Cambridge is an intelligent young woman who, if she cares to read my essay, will see that I meant nothing but good to her.”

While I don?t doubt that Mantel?s full speech was nuanced and media-bashing, I think she?s playing it too coy by half by claiming that her speech was completely supportive of Kate and the royal family. You know why? Because Kate and the royal family have a lot of control over their PR images, especially in the UK media. They are not mere celebrities angling for favorable coverage. They have a huge press machine promoting certain images, and Mantel was dead-on about Kate?s image: In the image they push of her, Kate is only a royal body, a clothes hanger lacking in personality. And that is how the royals want her to be seen. And that?s how they promote her ? like a second coming of Diana, only without the humanity, heart, work ethic, audacity, modernity or mess. Basically, Kate?s ?like Diana? because they both liked clothes.
Meanwhile, ?bashing Kate? is the new thing in England. A comedian named Sandi Toksvig recently did a bit in which she said Kate is so basic and meek, she?s like a character out of Jane Austen. She said: ?Kate Middleton is not enough for me. We used to admire women who got their place in life through marriage and having children, but I like to think we’ve grown up a bit. I can’t think of a single opinion she holds ? it’s very Jane Austen.? That?s an insult to Austen and her characters! Elizabeth Bennett is one of the great heroines of English literature, and Lizzie had more guts than Kate. Same for Marianne Dashwood and Emma Woodhouse and especially Anne Elliott. Austen wrote complicated, beautiful and flawed women. This woman doesn?t know what she?s talking about.

Last week we heard the news that Demi Moore had filed her own divorce papers against her estranged husband, Ashton Kutcher, and that she was planning on going for spousal support as well as legal fees. Ashton had already filed for divorce from Demi over the holidays, but apparently talks had stalled between their lawyers, prompting Demi to file separately. TMZ had a report claiming that it wasn’t true that negotiations were at an impasse, and that they were moving along but Demi was still determined to stick it to cheating Ashton. TMZ’s story sounded like it came from Ashton’s camp, because their version had Demi as the party with the higher net worth.
Now Radar has a story that sounds like it’s from Demi’s perspective. Their insider acknowledges that Demi’s “finances are solid” but cites her contribution to Ashton’s career during their marriage. I can’t argue with that point, Ashton’s career did benefit quite a bit from Demi’s high profile. I bet she put him in touch with plenty of industry insiders as well. Here’s more:

As previously reported, last week Moore formally filed her response to Ashton?s divorce papers, which he filed on December 21 of last year. And, it?s evident from Moore?s response that she wants Kutcher to pay! The 50-year-old is seeking spousal support from the super rich actor and wants him to foot the bill for all of her legal costs.
?Demi?s finances are solid, but she took a back seat during their marriage and allowed Ashton to be the star ? and big earner ? of the family,? the source says. ?Demi believes she provided crucial guidance to Ashton that helped him get to where he is today, and she thinks it is only fair she is compensated for that now they are no longer together. She?s been unhappy with the settlement talks so far because she feels that Ashton doesn?t recognize the impact she had on his life.?
Further spurring on Moore to go after Kutcher?s finances was his extramarital affair and subsequent new relationship with Mila Kunis.
?Demi is still really p*ssed off at Ashton,? a source previously told Radar.
?He humiliated her and then he treated her badly, which she didn?t expect and it really made her mad. She basically wants to hurt him the way he hurt her, and this is the only way she knows how.?

So Demi is going for monetary revenge I guess. I really can’t argue that she didn’t contribute to his career. As I mentioned last week, Ashton had done “The 70s Show,” “Punk’d” and Dude, Where’s My Car? before he met Demi. People paint him as some kind of Internet genius but he seems like more of a doofus who knows how to operate a computer and has a propensity to overshare. I doubt his career would have surpassed Wilmer Valderrama’s if he hadn’t hooked up with Demi, is what I’m saying. He’s not a good actor.
However, it’s not like Demi needs the money at all, she’s not struggling and she’s not some single mom trying to make ends meet. All her daughters are grown and likely not even talking to her. She’s doing this because she’s mad and still hurt. I don’t blame her, but I don’t feel any sympathy for her either.

Charlize Theron has just been looking so awesome lately. I can?t get over how her shaved head and subsequent grow-out has been the best thing for her ?look? in years. These are pics of Charlize and her son Jackson at Pinkberry in West Hollywood yesterday. I love how focused Jackson is on the fro-yo. I remember? when I was growing up, there were always Dairy Queens close enough, but finally we got a yogurt shop just down the road when I was like 8 years old. Yogurt seems like the most amazing thing when you?re a kid! Like, your parents don?t feel so guilty about letting you have yogurt as opposed to ice cream.
By the way, I love how Charlize rolls in her casual outings ? many, many Hollywood ladies should take note. Her clothes fit, they?re flattering, and I?m sure those jeans are super-expensive, and the amazing zebra sweater is probably, like, a thousand dollars. But Charlize wears it simply, so she manages to look both upmarket AND casual and cute.
Speaking of jeans, did you hear the rumor that Charlize is going to design a denim line? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlize and her stylist Leslie Fremar are ?shopping the idea for a Theron Jeans line with denim brands, which would be sold in mass-market stores.? Doing your own clothing line ? even if it?s a specialty like jeans ? seems like a Katie Holmes-type move, which is to say that it?s something actresses do to stay relevant when they?re not scoring movie roles. But maybe Charlize will be different. Maybe this will just be an awesome little side-project for her and her jeans will be amazing. *fingers crossed*

A rough-looking Tom Cruise has finally wrapped filming on All You Need Is Kill, which he’s been working on in London since last September (with the first mega-craptastic film still of Tom crapping his pants in robot suit surfacing in November). If that seems like a long time even for an big-budget action movie to finish filming, consider also that the film relies on a time-loop gimmick, so it’s been a case of the entire cast and crew being subjected to very similar situations that probably feel like the same scenario on repeat. So it’s like Groundhog Day, but instead of Bill Murray, we’re getting an evil, lift-wearing monkey, and any humor will be of the unintentional variety.
But alas, the film has now wrapped, and Tom Cruise has decided that his time in London was such an amazing experience (which is interesting since much of Tom’s time has been spent awkwardly raving in nightclubs) that he decided to throw the party to end all parties for the cast and crew to the tune of $150,000, and of course his team leaked the details of the bash to make Tom look like such an awesome dude. I noticed that the informant in this story neglected to mention the Scientology-themed goody bags, but here are the nauseatingly gushy details:
Tom Cruise may just be the most generous superstar in all of Hollywood. The acting legend spent a whopping £s;100,000 on a wrap party for cast and crew on his latest blockbuster – but failed to attend the glitzy celebration himself.
Tom, 50, was in London filming All You Need Is Kill, and planned the huge celebration for the entire cast and crew. Unfortunately, the Top Gun star found himself stuck on set until late on Saturday night as filming ran over and he was not able to join the lavish party he had paid for.
Cruise booked one of the top five star luxury venues in town with free food and drink all night for the 400 people who worked on the film. Tom got his people to book the luxurious Altitude London venue on the 28th floor of the Millbank Tower near the Houses of Parliament.
A source close to the action hero told Mail Online: “He chose the venue because it has the most amazing panoramic view of the whole of London.” But due to filming over-running Tom wasn’t able to attend his own leaving do. The source added: “He was still at the studios right up till late Saturday night filming last minute action sequences to the multi-million budget action flick.”
Instructions were sent from the set to managers at the venue that there should be a free bar all night with unlimited champagne and cocktails. The source said: “By the end of the night over 350 bottles of champagne had been popped. There were also delicious canapes of crab cakes, Chinese dim sum, mini Kobe beef burgers, sausage and mash, and satay chicken.”
One of the crew at the party told Mail Online: “Tom’s had an incredible time filming this movie, he’s ridden a vintage motorbike down the Mall to Buckingham Palace and dropped out of a helicopter into Trafalgar Square.
“He said that filming in London has been one of the greatest experiences of his life, and this was his way of saying thank you to all the production team that made it possible.”
The crew member added: “I’ve worked on quite a few Hollywood films and with big star names, but this is without a doubt the most lavish wrap party I’ve ever been to. There’s going to be a few sore heads on Sunday morning though.”
The shindig included a DJ playing all night up to 3am and the party got started early with people wading in at 9pm at the free bar. Hundreds of full champagne flutes were lined up across the bar and were replenished as soon as they were drunk. Waitresses kept going round with seemingly never ending trays of canapes.
There was even a dressing up cupboard laid on complete with Mission: Impossible style outfits and a photo-booth so that crew could take pictures of themselves because there was a strict no photos rule in the party.

Well of course Tom missed the party that he so selflessly organized because he’s such a hard little worker bee and had to finish the last night of filming on set. I would be willing to bet a copy of Dianetics that this party was written into the film’s budget with Tom necessarily getting all of the credit. I’m sort of wondering exactly what Tom will be doing in the immediate aftermath of this latest gig. He’s got a lot of movies on his roster and is due to start promoting Oblivion soon, but this will be his first official mini-break since Katie filed for divorce last summer. Tom doesn’t do well with downtime, so this could get funky.

I included a link to this photoshoot in the links yesterday, but once I read some of the excerpts from Diane Kruger?s Flare Magazine cover interview, I wanted to cover it! I get that some of you aren?t big fans of Diane, but I like her more and more every year. She seems like a cool girl, she seems organized and smart and she?s one half of one of Hollywood?s cutest couples. Why don?t you love her?! Just kidding. Anyway, as I said yesterday, I find this photoshoot to be too cutesy and retro and it just doesn?t suit her. But the interview is more interesting:
Joshua Jackson banned her from watching Dawson?s Creek: ‘He doesn’t want me to watch his early work. He grew up in front of the camera with pimples and bloatiness.’
She loves to cook & she dragged Joshua to cooking classes: ‘We have a big garden in L.A. and we started canning jam and pickling. It sounds a little kooky, but the pickles we make are insane.’
Growing up in Germany: ‘I felt really trapped in my home town. My mum could sense it and to this day, without her trust in me, I don’t know what I would have become. People just thought I was – not turning into a prostitute, but kind of. Everyone was furious. My dad was furious. My school thought I was making the biggest mistake of my life. Being part of the film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer?s The Host: ‘I actually happen to be a big Twilight fan, which I?m not embarrassed to say. It sort of appeals to my inner teenage girl.’
On her character in The Host: ?She?s so complex. She has that Stepford Wife-y kind of niceness yet there is so much more underlying there: rage and anger.?
On her friendship with Karl Lagerfeld: I?ve known him since I move to Pars when I was 16. He?s very kind and can be very funny and ironic and silly. In difficult moments in my life when I don?t really know who to talk to, I sort of drop by his studio and he knows me well enough to pick up on weird things. He really is one of the most interesting people I?ve ever met.?
On fighting for her role in Inglourious Basterds: ?Every once in a while there comes a part where you feel like it was written for you. And it wasn?t. But I felt like I really could bring something to it.
On valuing Joshua Jackson?s career input: ?Nobody knows me better than he does. He knows exactly when I?m faking it and when I?m being sincere.”

I think I knew that Diane was tight with Karl Lagerfeld?? She always wears Chanel and she always shows up at Chanel events, so I guess I figured there was some kind of relationship there. On Sunday, I covered the Us Weekly story that Elisabeth Hasselbeck had been kicked off of The View for being ?too extreme and right-wing? for test audiences. The actual wording of the Us Weekly story was that Elisabeth hadn?t been flat-out FIRED, though ? sources claimed Elisabeth had been informed that producers would not be offering her another contract. Which gives her some room to claim that she was leaving of her accord as a goodwill face-saving gesture. I think Elisabeth is putting up some kind of fight, though! On yesterday?s View, Barbara Walters told the audience that ?We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.? Us Weekly is playing it like they?re still right, but Elisabeth hasn?t gotten the ax? YET.
Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are keeping up appearances — for now. After Us Weekly and other outlets reported last week that Hasselbeck’s contract on ABC’s The View had not been renewed, Walters took to the air to address the issue. Walking onto the set arm-in-arm with her controversial co-host, the veteran journalist opened the March 11 episode by reassuring viewers that Hasselbeck was a respected member of the show.
“The truth is, we love Elisabeth…Beyond that, we value and appreciate her point of view,” Walters said Monday. “It’s important to us because Elisabeth helps give this show perspective and balance…We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.”
That said, she added, “[Executive producer] Bill [Geddie] and I have always said that when one of you makes the choice to leave, that is your choice, and we will support your decision.”
A source tells Us that the denial is part of a strategy to “save face” for both Hasselbeck and the series. Producers are “just leaving the door open for Elisabeth to announce she is leaving on her own when she is ready,” the insider explains. “They don’t want to make her look bad and don’t want to make the show look bad for canning her…They just want to make it seem like Elisabeth decided to leave on her own when the announcement comes.”
Original panelist Star Jones departed the show amid similar drama in 2006; before Jones’ surprise, on-air exit, Walters had denied rampant rumors that Jones was on her way out. Jones returned to the show to bury the hatchet in February 2012, saying of her renegade departure: “I made the decision to go out on my own terms, to control it, so that if I was ever invited back, I would feel good about it.” Walters then admitted to viewers that Jones’ contract was simply not renewed and that the denials about her leaving were to “protect” Jones.
Us Weekly first broke the news of Hasselbeck’s departure on Friday, March 8. “The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing,” a source told Us of the conservative 35-year-old mother of three, who officially joined the cast in November 2003, after a guest-hosting stint following Lisa Ling’s 2002 departure. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her [Thursday, March 7,] her contract would not be renewed.”
Hasselbeck isn’t the only host who won’t be returning to the couch. Joy Behar, the only remaining original cohort besides series co-creator Walters, announced last week that she would leave to pursue other interests after this season.
“You can’t stay forever on a show,” the 70-year-old host of Current TV’s Joy Behar: Say Anything! told Good Morning America of her decision to leave The View when her contract ends in August. “I am graciously exiting stage left. I’ve put in 16 and a half years and felt the time was right. I want to explore other opportunities.”

Yeah, I believe Us Weekly?s version of events. I think producers don?t want Elisabeth to come back and they?ve already informed her that she will not be offered a new contract, and she?s either fighting with them or Barbara is letting Elisabeth look like she?s leaving because she (Elisabeth) wants to leave.
Bizarrely, there are also rumors that Barbara is going to step down from cohosting the chat show too, which is weird because The View is Barbara?s baby, and I think it?s probably one of the most profitable talk shows out there right now. Not, like, Ellen DeGeneres profitable, but still pretty lucrative. And Barbara is the executive producer too! So, if Barbara steps down from co-hosting (Big IF), my guess is that she?ll still retain her producer credit and have a hand in deciding who should be hired and fired.

These are some new photos of Emma Stone filming Amazing Spider-Man 2 in Brooklyn yesterday. You know? I like Emma Stone so much. I think she?s incredibly talented, I think she?s beautiful and I think she?s one of the great hopes for her generation of actresses. But it?s gotten to the point where I just cannot even start with how much weight she?s lost over the past year, year-and-a-half. In The Help, in Easy A, in Crazy Stupid Love, she had a lovely figure. She?s a small girl, but her vibe back then was ?I eat pasta and I don?t feel guilty about it either.? Now her vibe is ?How many calories are in ice chips??
I?m not body-shaming her, and I hope I?m not concern-trolling her either. It just really bothers me how an adorable, talented and healthy-looking young woman has become so, so thin. And what sucks is that with the Bosworth Body and the blonde hair, Emma now just seems like every other Hollywood girl. She lost what made her special. I feel like we should find a way to discuss this without condemning her, but recognizing that this is the pressure put on women young and old in Hollywood, by the media, by all of us even.
As for the costume choice? I thought she looked weird until I read some old quotes from Emma about how Gwen Stacy (her Spider-Man character) was supposed to dress. Apparently, these kinds of costume choices are right for the character and consistent with the comic books. Spider-Man is going to have another love interest in this sequel too ? Mary Jane Watson will be around, and she?s being played by Shailene Woodley. There might be a real-life love triangle between Emma, Andrew Garfield and Shailene too ? or it could have been some stupid Twitter joke. Who knows?

Here are some photos from the Hollywood premiere of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone last night. The red carpet was kind of meh ? the only A-listers were Steve Carell and Jim Carrey, and while I like both men a lot, you can?t make me do a ?Who Would You Rather?? post about them. Fine, okay, I would rather hit it with Steve. Are you happy?!
The only notable woman in attendance was Steve and Jim?s costar Olivia Wilde, she of the eye-rolling inducing Marie Claire interview yesterday and months of throwing her ex-husband under the proverbial bus. I?m shocked (!) that Olivia?s Kenyan-marathon-sex lover Jason Sudeikis wasn?t at her side at the premiere! Probably because he?s in New York, doing something else? Probably. Anyway, Olivia wore this unflattering, poorly designed Gucci gown that doesn?t do much for her. Olivia has that tall, slim build like a model, so she could really bring it to red carpets, but she rarely does. Oh, did we ever talk about her engagement ring? Photographers got a closeup of it:
It looks like a round diamond with an emerald surround and yellow gold? It?s pretty. I like that it?s not all blinged-out, and it actually seems to suit her.
And here are some photos of Jim and Steve. I LOVE Jim?s silver shoes. Those things are badass! And I love Steve?s wife (Nancy Walls) and her dress. Steve looks pretty good, doesn?t he? I mean, he looks like an attractive husband and father at a PTA meeting.
