She?s turning 50 on February 20th and Cindy Crawford has decided to wrap things up with regard to her modeling career.
The legendary supermodel, who recently released a memoir titled ?Becoming Cindy Crawford, told Rhapsody magazine she?s enjoyed her role as a professional poser and now she?s ready to move on.
Crawford declared, "I feel like I'm allowing that to have been great, and I'm celebrating it. And I?m sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that's OK. I've done it. I?ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."

It warmed my heart a few weeks ago when commenters took Sarah Palin to task for being a lying, craven, word-salad-barfing, malfunctioning FemBot. You see, Palin endorsed Donald Trump, which was epic and stupid in and of itself, but then within the very same newscycle, we learned that Palin?s oldest son Track had been arrested at the Palin home in Wasilla after he assaulted his girlfriend and threatened her and himself with an automatic weapon. After Palin?s endorsement, she stayed silent for a day and then she gave a long-winded and word-salady speech about how Track maybe has PTSD from a combat mission in Iraq back in 2008 and how the whole thing is Pres. Obama?s fault. Frankly, I found the whole thing really distasteful. I was glad that other people saw through her nonsense as well.
Well, Palin sat down this morning for her first real interview since all of that went down. She spoke to Today?s Matt and Savannah and the first part of the interview is just about Trump, Iowa Caucus crap, Palin taking credit for Ted Cruz?s Senate win, blah blah blah. A particularly funny moment is when Palin talks about whether Trump is churchy enough for the GOP. But the whole thing goes off the rails (even more off the rails, I should say) around the 3-minute mark, which is when Savannah asks Palin about her son?s arrest and her subsequent blaming of Pres. Obama for Track?s PTSD.

Here are some assorted photos of Natalie Portman last week, in Paris and New York. In Paris (the black dress photos), she premiered Jane Got a Gun, the clusterwhoops film which Portman stars in and produced. In New York (the red coat-dress photos), she premiered A Tale of Love and Darkness, the film which she directed, produced and stars in. Both looks in these photos ? the coat and the black gown ? are Dior. I love the black gown (truly, it?s stunning) but I can?t stand the red coat. The red is too orange-y and the scalloped hem is twee.
Anyway, Portman has been making the media rounds to promote her two movies, neither or which will make any money at all. JGAG actually opened this weekend and it made? $803,000. While the release wasn?t, like, Star Wars-level, it still opened in more than 1200 theaters. But very few people saw it. Because no one really cared about seeing Natalie Portman pretend to be a Wild West gunslinger in a film that had one of the most traumatized productions in the past decade. So? should we give her credit for trying? Meh. I give her some credit for going out there and shilling her movie, even though she knew it was going to bomb. She shilled so hard, she even spoke to Page Six about how she?s an ?average everyday Jewish mother.?
How she prepared to play a Wild West gunslinger: ?I knew nothing. I was sent a script. I?d never read anything like this feminist story about a woman in those old days, making her way in the unforgiving, tough Wild West. Toting a rifle, husband riddled with bullets, shooting bad guys, baking bread, washing children, surviving. I did research. I took a crash course. I studied books. Read diaries. But there were so many obstacles. We lost the director early on. Actors changed. We suffered financial and legal challenges. We endured so many replacements. There were delays. The weather was unforgiving. Sandstorms. Rains in April. That?s why I, just basically your average everyday Jewish mother, would go around asking everyone, ?You OK? .?.?. You all right?? I have a child. I know what it?s like to care for a baby. But to do that with the civilization?s surrounding toughness, to make that journey and survive it. That?s the story.?

I chuckled at ?rains in April.? Like, OMG, who would have ever thought that it would rain in APRIL in the Northern Hemisphere? What is this? SPRING?! Next she?ll say that it snowed in January! I felt the same way about Leonardo DiCaprio?s conversation about the conditions while shooting The Revenant ? like, he was shocked that there was a spring thaw and that it started getting warmer in April/May.
As for Portman? well, I hope she learned a lot from this process. I kind of think they should have just called it a day with Jane Got a Gun when directors and actors were fleeing the production. Just write it off and call it a day. And I still don?t know why Portman forced the issue and why she was so hellbent on making the film. If Angelina Jolie had made these moves, people would be using words like ?ego bath? and ?narcissism.?

Here are some photos of Kylie Jenner out and about in LA over the past week. Can we just stop and talk about her face for a second? The situation around her face reminds me of Megan Fox circa 2009-10. Like, Megan kept getting all of these noticeable procedures done and it felt like this big conspiracy that we weren?t supposed to discuss. That?s how I feel about Kylie. I mean, yes, she now admits that she?s getting lip injections or whatever. But there?s a ton of other stuff going on here. Nose job. Work around her eyes. Something with her chin and jawline.
Anyway, in last night?s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kylie asked Caitlyn for her opinion on when is the best time to start a family. I was surprised that Caitlyn told Kylie that the best time is when you?re 30 years old, just because I thought Cait would have said earlier. Kylie?s response to Cait is getting some attention though ? Kylie replied, ?I feel like 30 is too late! Every psychic said that I?m only going to have two kids.” Just think about that. Kylie ? at the age of 18 ? has been to multiple psychics, and they ALL tell her same thing when she asks how many kids she?ll have. Because that?s what she asks.
Caitlyn?s reply to her 18-year-old daughter? “When you have one, you might as well have two. You want your kids close together. That?s why we had you!” Then Cait told Kylie that she always wanted 30 grandkids, which blew my mind. Caitlyn has six biological children, although I kind of think the Kardashian kids sort of count as Caitlyn?s kids too, since she helped raise them. So is Caitlyn counting North West, Reign Disick, Penelope and Mason? I have no idea. But the point of this story is that Kylie is already thinking about having kids, and I wish Kris Jenner would say or do something to intervene.

Susan Sarandon attended the SAG Awards on Saturday night as a presenter and a nominee (for her work in the Lifetime miniseries The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe). Susan wore this MaxMara suit and she took over the internet. Because I guess no one has ever seen her cleavage before? You guys, this is nonsense. Susan has always been known as a busty actress, and she?s never shied away from showing a little skin. But I guess people hadn?t seen her in a while, and they were stunned by the fact that a 69-year-old woman would wear a deep-cut suit and an exposed bra. My issue with this is that the suit sucks ? I would have loved to have seen Susan in a really well-cut white suit, and if there was some bra peeking out, who cares? But this suit is terrible.
Anyway, Twitter exploded and everyone was talking about Sarandon. For what it?s worth, most of the tweets I saw were complimentary, although some media outlets claimed Susan was being ?cleavage shamed? or whatever. Maybe there were some ageist comments, but then again? how often do we see 69-year-old actresses showing this much skin? There were also some comments about the inappropriateness of wearing this ensemble to present the ?In Memoriam? section of the SAGs. Susan was asked to do it because she knew David Bowie and had worked with him, just FYI.
Maybe I?m just not feeling the outrage, but this really does have me mystified. What?s the big deal? No, really?

For some reason Demi Moore was the last presenter of the night on Sunday, she presented Best Ensemble in a Drama which went to Spotlight. When she came out on stage I was struck by her hair, she was wearing one of those topknots which is inexplicably popular now along with some loose strands hanging down, and by how gothic her gown was. She was in a full length black gown with stripes and ruffles that looked very 90s. It turns out the dress wasn’t that old, it was from 2002 (the Spring 2003 collection), just 13 years ago, but there was definitely something dated about it. Designer Zac Posen noticed Demi in one of his older gowns and posted about it. Apparently Demi just dug the dress out of her closet and People writes that she didn’t consult him before wearing it, which you can pretty much surmise based on what he wrote.
What a wonderful surprise for me to see my pal #DemiMoore wearing her own vintage #ZacPosen gown from my second collection many moons ago while presenting at the #SagAwards tonight!!!
