During her interview with the publication, the "Anna Karenina" beauty opened up about everything from her role in the new film to her work with Chanel.

"I can?t precisely explain where this desire came from. Unless it was because I didn?t really have to decide who I wanted to be, because I could take on a different personality with each role."

"After 'Anna Karenina,' I suddenly realized that for the past five years, in all of my films, I either died or was subjected to situations that were each more horrific than the last. SoI wanted more positive vibrations! And nothing could correspond better than this New York fairy tale of a young woman who tries to finally have the life she always wanted."
On her favorite Chanel moments:
"The amazing commercial that Jean-Paul Goude made with Vanessa Paradis in a birdcage [for her CoCo Chanel fragrance campaign]. Also, I have a real admiration for CoCo Chanel, for the woman she was?a free woman in the strongest sense of the word?and for the designer [who was] able to create clothing that everyone could wear. CoCo Chanel is timeless and her creations precisely express her free spirit."
On her habits:
"I bite my nails, so that means that I?m obsessed with them, right? I love to go out and buy nail polish in the most absurd colors and paint my nails with them. Last time, I chose yellow?which I do not recommend! I looked like I had nicotine-stained fingers. I won?t repeat the yellow experience, but you can count on me to find an even crazier shade next time!"

I probably wouldn’t even have lasted 10 seconds. Unlike what you’ve heard, that’s not normal for me. The apologizing, however, totally is.
After sex, though, she always wants the guy to tell her how she did. “I always ask for a critique on my performance. I always want to better myself in every way.” I feel like this is a trap of some sort. There’s really no good answer to, “How was I, baby?,” that doesn’t involve her grabbing your balls and twisting.
Asked if she would ever date a woman, she said, “Never say never,” which means threesomes are definitely an option here.

Johnny Depp covers April’s issue of Interview magazine to promote Transcendence. (He appeared in Vegas with Morgan Freeman last week to talk about the film. We didn’t cover the pics, but they’re here.) Are you surprised to see Johnny promoting a new movie? It feels like it’s been forever. He’s still a movie star, after all. A movie star that’s posing with a teddy bear on the cover of a respectable magazine. Go ahead, crack that Amber Heard joke. You know you wanna. The joke isn’t even about Amber, so don’t feel guilty about it.
This Bruce Weber (!) shoot is a little overwhelming for fans of Johnny’s long-standing cool phase. I’m seeing so many shades of the old Depp here. He’s playing guitar and looking all rock ‘n’ roll with those forearm tattoos blazing. He reads a book about Thelonious Monk to an Uggie (the dog) lookalike as a creepy sculpture looks on approvingly. This is a very strong editorial, and Depp’s mangagement ring takes a breather.
Johnny is interviewed by Iggy Pop. The intro paints Johnny as we used to know him: “A personal mythos as complex and compelling as his career.” There is a detailed discussion Johnny’s major movies and his old-school girlfriends. Amber’s name never comes up, but neither does that of Vanessa Paradis. Never mind that Johnny feels free to interrupt Amber’s interviews. Daddy’s got a reputation to resurrect. Let’s do some excerpts:
His first job: [laughs] “I marketed pens–on the phone. But the beauty of the gig was that you had to call these strangers and say, ‘Hi, how ya doing?’ You made up a name, like, ‘Hey, it’s Edward Quartermaine from California. You’re eligible to receive this grandfather clock or a trip to Tahiti.’ You promise them all these things if they buy a gross of pens. It was just awful. But I actually think that was the first experience I had with acting. I sold one thing, one gross of pens to one guy. And then he was asking me about the trip to Tahiti and I was riddled with guilt, so I told him, ‘Hey, man, you don’t want these f—ing pens. This is a scam. The grandfather clock is made of pressboard. You’re not going to Tahiti. I’m sorry.’ So I talked him out of it.”
How many ciggies does he smoke per day? “I’ll bet a thousand. I’m working my way up to ten thousand.”
Why Transcendence? “What fascinated me more than anything is the correlation between technology and power–the idea that a guy who is able to download his sentient being into a machine can become god, or a version of god. Religion is a fascinating black hole to me.”
On meeting Brando, Ginsberg & all the rest: “There are those who meet their heroes and go, ‘Aw, f—.’ And I’ve never had that, luckily. I was never disappointed by the people I’ve admired.”
On reality tv: “Everything can be a reality show now. Imagine what’s it going to be in 20 f—ing years, man. People get famous now for I-don’t-know-what. People have reality shows because they’re a Hollywood socialite, and these things become very successful and they generate a sh-tload of money for the company. And it’s multiplying, to where you’re literally looking into your next door neighbor’s bathroom with reckless abandon. It is like watching a fire. You can’t take your eyes off of it.”
Johnny is a rock star: “I still approach a scene as one would approach a solo. There’s nothing set or pat. I don’t know what the f—’s going to happen until I get in there. Just like when you’re in the booth and you’re playing a guitar solo, you don’t exactly know how you’re going to phrase this or that. Which I think is beautiful. That idea of chance.”
Johnny’s closing invite to Iggy: “I’ve got to get you and your gal to come out to that little place I got in the Bahamas, man. You could leave your house and be on a beach in, f—, less than two hours. Anonymity is achievable there. And the heart rate slows about 20 beats per minute, within the first 15 minutes of being there. Yeah, we should make a sojourn there.”

Johnny’s not railing quite as violently as he did in interviews from a few years ago. I mean, he’s not comparing photoshoots to rape. Thank goodness. He does talk like Amber now, doesn’t he? She’s had an influence on him with her talk of “the fleeting and superficial world of tabloid journalism.” Try as he might, Johnny will never escape the tabloids. His splashy kind of wealth and fame come with trappings. Maybe one day he’ll retire to his private island, but I doubt it. His lifestyle is too expensive for retirement.
Why is he bagging on reality television? Johnny loves Honey Boo Boo. Own that sh-t.

Sure. X-Men: Days of Future Past has lots of product tie-ins, and you?ve probably already seen some of the commercials. Have you seen the Hardee?s ads with Mystique? Days of Future Past isn?t even out until May 23rd, so we?ve got two months of promotional stops like this ahead of us. And personally, I can?t wait.
That?s one good thing about having such an enormous ensemble ? different mutants can do different parts of the promotional tour. I mean, the ?leads? this time around include Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page and James McAvoy. There will be lots of combinations there-in and we?re going to have some fun with it.
Incidentally, I took my mom to X-Men: First Class in the theaters, and she LOVED it. I expected her to enjoy it, but I wasn?t expecting her to become, like, loonie for all things X-Men (she bought the box set of the first three films). I asked her last night if she wanted to see the new one and before I had even finished asking, she was like ?YES WE ARE SEEING THAT ON OPENING WEEKEND.?
Anyway, James and Hugh are looking very good here. I think CB is more into Hugh, and she really likes his greying, short beard here. He is aging really well, isn?t he? He?s 45 years old. Now, as for James? lord, he?s cute. THOSE EYES. So? who would I rather? James. But that?s no slam on Hugh ? Hugh?s looking very good here, I?m just more into McAvoy.

Why has Swifty been hanging out with so many models lately? First Swifty went on road trip through California with Karlie Kloss, and now she?s doing a Sex & the City brunch with Lily Aldridge?
I actually think the SATC reference is more than apt. It looks like Taylor has bought herself a luxury Tribeca loft, also known as a $20 million shag-pad. The paps got shots of burly men moving Swifty?s stuff into a building in Tribeca on Friday too, and that explains why Taylor has been in New York for more than a week ? she?s been preparing the apartment! She has a number of luxurious homes across the United States. And now it seems Taylor Swift has added to her extensive property portfolio and snapped up not one but two apartments in New York’s trendy TriBeCa neighbourhood.
The 24-year-old is said to have splashed out around $20 million for the adjacent lofts, which were previously owned by Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson. Taylor seemed to avoid any heavy lifting by taking a stroll with Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldridge as her belongings were moved into the luxury apartment.
According to The Real Estalker, Taylor may have purchased two lofts in the prestigious building, which also counts Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen among its residents. Speculation mounted after the I Knew You Were Trouble singer was spotted visiting the building several times, shortly after director Peter Jackson listed his two apartments for the combined asking price of $21,500,000.
The smaller of the two dwellings isn’t exactly tiny, boasting three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, while the larger one is a whopping 5,869 square foot penthouse with six bedrooms. Both are tastefully decorated with hardwood floors, exposed beams and wooden columns giving a homey feel. And there’s plenty of space for Taylor to store all her designers threads. A 25 foot long hall lined with 10 closets opens out into a dressing room, while the large master bedroom has a fireplace to snuggle up next to.
Not short of places to lay her head, the pop princess already owns homes in Beverly Hills, California and a penthouse duplex in Nashville, Tennessee, which she considers her main residence. Last year she also splashed out on a $17.75million mansion in the upmarket neighbourhood of Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

It will be interesting to see how much time Taylor spends in NYC in the coming months/years. Will she really try to be a New Yorker? Is she searching for a boyfriend? Will she have a weekly brunch with Samantha, Carrie and Miranda (Swifty is totally Charlotte)? Or is she just expanding her real estate portfolio because she?s an incredibly wealthy woman and she got a good deal on these lofts?

As I promised yesterday, here are some photos of Angelina Jolie and UK Foreign Secretary William Hague during their day-and-a-half long trip to Sarajevo, Zenica and Potocari. Jolie and Hague had a lot on their docket after they left London (where Hague had a drinks reception for Jolie, then a private dinner, then he took her to Downing Street for breakfast). Jolie and Hague flew in to Bosnia last Thursday, where they met with Bosnian leaders, rape survivors, and the NGO workers who try to find justice for those survivors. This was all part of Hague and Jolie?s years-long campaign to put a renewed focus on warzone rape. Here?s more from The Guardian:
Angelina Jolie has paid tribute to the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre after urging the international community to stop the use of sexual violence as a war weapon. Jolie was accompanied by the British foreign secretary, William Hague, while on a trip to Bosnia. At the Srebrenica memorial centre museum, Jolie and Hague met women who were raped during Bosnia’s 1992-95 war, as well as women whose beloved ones were killed in the massacre.
Dressed in black, with a black headscarf to respect customs of Muslim women when they go at a cemetery, Jolie laid a wreath in front of a stone monument for the victims. She then walked alongside a wall on which the names of more than 8,000 people who were killed are written.
After capturing Srebrenica on 11 July 1995, Serb forces executed more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys. More than 6,000 massacre victims, whose remains were found in mass graves, were laid to rest at a memorial cemetery in the town.
Earlier on Friday, Jolie and Hague took part at a conference in the Bosnian capital on sexual violence in war, organised by the Balkan country’s defence ministry. Jolie, whose 2011 directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey dealt with violence against women during Bosnia’s war, urged peace missions around the world to make combatting sex crimes a priority.
“The use of rape as a weapon of war is one of the most harrowing and savage of these crimes against civilians,” Jolie told the conference. “This is rape so brutal, with such extreme violence, that it is even hard to talk about it,” said the 38-year-old, who is a goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee agency (UNHCR).
Jolie and Hague are due to co-host a high-profile summit on the same topic in London in June, which is expected to be the largest ever gathering of its kind, according to the British foreign minister. Hague said that today “sexual violence is used deliberately as a weapon of war” in the conflicts in Syria, Central African Republic and South Sudan. He said: “I hope we can all work together to prevent the horrors seen in this region from being repeated in future conflicts anywhere in the world.”
About 20,000 women, mostly Muslim, were raped during Bosnia’s inter-ethnic war in the 1990s, according to local estimates. So far only 33 people have been convicted for the crimes by local courts and 30 by a UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

Jolie and Hague were also there to praise Bosnia?s new initiative to include sexual violence prevention training in Bosnian military training (which, frankly, America needs to do as well). Angelina cried during some of the meetings they had, so it?s nice that her new boyfriend was there to comfort her. You know I?m only joking, but I do wonder what Brad thinks of Angelina?s close friendship with a man like William Hague. I also kind of wonder what Hague?s wife thinks too.

I?m getting a funny feeling about this story. And when I say ?funny? I mean ?delightful schadenfreude.? According to an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter, Chelsea Handler is going to finish up her contract with E! (she has nine months left) and then she?s going to leave the network to pursue other opportunities. Is this Chelsea?s choice? Or was she pushed? That?s the question. Over the past few months, there were a handful of stories about E! finally going hard on Chelsea and telling her to STFU about Angelina Jolie and to stop with all of the racist crap. Of course, there she was on Oscar night, tweeting racist crap for HuffPo. So, are the powers that be at E! finally sick of her vodka-soaked shenanigans or does Chelsea think she?s outgrown E!?
Chelsea Handler plans to leave the E! channel when her contract expires at the end of the year, bringing a close to her Chelsea Lately talk show after eight years, according to her manager, Irving Azoff. Handler has long been vocal about her dissatisfaction with the network though such complaints could be perceived as part of a negotiation. In this case, Azoff tells The Hollywood Reporter, “Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires. She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.? He adds that plans for Handler could include a radio presence and a possible nightly or weekly late-night show on another network or digital service.
An E! spokesperson stated to THR: “Chelsea has nine months left on her contract and E! will not comment on the future of Chelsea Lately at this time.”
Handler is said to feel that she is at the top of her game with a new book, Uganda be Kidding Me — her first to sit at No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list for more than a week. She is in the midst of a tour of more than 30 markets, “a massive piece of business” that also will include dates overseas, according to Geof Wills, president of Live Nation Comedy. She will shoot her first stand-up special at the Harris Theatre in Chicago in June to air on cable in October.
Handler’s reps at CAA have been setting meetings with companies including Sony Television and Lionsgate as well as FX to discuss her future. The extent of interest in her in those quarters is not clear. ?I don?t know if anybody?s going to pay her as much as E!,? says a source at one company that has been contacted.
Handler is said to be making about $9 million a year while delivering average viewership of 572,000 a night — a decline from 839,000 in 2010. Ad revenue also has dipped more than 15 percent in recent years to $134.5 million, according to Kantar Media.
Handler has been open about her frustration with programming at E! In a March 5 appearance on Howard Stern?s radio show, she described E! as ?a sad, sad place to live,? adding, ?They don?t know what they?re doing. They have no ideas. It?s a failure.?
While comics such as Jay Leno long have slung mud at their television homes, it?s hard to imagine that NBCUniversal cable entertainment chairman Bonnie Hammer was amused by Handler?s appraisal of her strategy to rebrand E! over the past few years as a more ?aspirational? network. I laughed at the viewership and advertising data ? it doesn?t seem like Chelsea?s popularity is on the upswing at all, does it? Her manager tried to spin the data and make it sound like Chelsea is still ?winning? even though her viewership has taken a major hit over the past few years (mostly as people have wised up to her nasty, racist shtick), and I guess it?s worth noting that Chelsea is still selling books and she?s still an in-demand stand-up comedienne.
All that being said, do you think Chelsea will be able to relaunch herself on another cable platform or even ? gasp! ? network TV? I have my doubts. In addition to bad-mouthing E!, Chelsea has also bad-mouthed her own limited abilities to, you know, gossip about celebrities. Cheslea sees herself as the second coming of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. That?s what she really wants to do ? gossip about the news. And please, remember how she got the job at E! in the first place: she was banging her married boss. Will she be able to pull that same move somewhere else?

Here are some new photos of Tori Spelling hitting the nail salon with Liam and Stella in tow. Other outlets are making a big deal about Tori wearing her wedding ring, but I can’t be bothered to care about ringwatch. Tori’s turned her philandering husband into some sweet publicity. I still doubt that Dean was getting with dudes, but I feel like Tori planted that story for revenge. I can’t blame her because Tori is stuck with Dean. She can’t afford to divorce him because she’d probably be on the hook for child support and alimony. There IS potential for Tori to rebrand herself as a single mother. I don’t think she’s interested in that angle. Tori has begrudgingly taken Dean back. They’re going to renew their vows! That will keep him from cheating again. Whatever:
Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott has been in the doghouse since his cheating scandal exploded late last year, so he’s planning to renew their wedding vows — again!
The 40-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 star took her allegedly philandering husband back following widespread reports of an alcohol-fueled fling with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand in Toronto last December.
But even though Dean went into rehab to “address some health and personal issues” and is back living with Tori and their children, she still doesn’t trust him, reveals a soure.
“Dean has a long way to go before Tori forgives him,” the source told The Enquirer. “His biggest fear is that she’ll divorce him and he’ll be left with nothing. So he’s on a mission to convince Tori that she’s still the love of his life. Dean has a lot of work to do. That’s why he wants to renew their vows. Dean really does love Tori AND he doesn’t want to lose his meal ticket.”
The two reality stars — parents to Liam, 7, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 19 months — were married in 2006 and renewed their vows four years later. Now they’re planning to do it for a third time on their eighth anniversary in May.
Another insider said that Tori is going along with the vow renewal, but she’s making sure Dean, 47, continues to attend counseling.
“Tori has a very long memory,” noted the insider. According to the source, Dean may think he can make Tori forget his alleged infidelity “by giving her expensive gifts and massages, and renewing their vows, but it’s going to take a lot more than that.
“Time is the only thing that will heal Tori’s heart.”

Awwwww. The vow renewal will make for a lovely reality show episode, amirite? Enough already. I feel for Tori and Dean’s children because their parents either have a dysfunctional marriage or are faking a dysfunctional marriage. Either scenario will damage these kids once they’re old enough to read and Google their parents’ antics. Are we still debating whether Tori cooked up this whole “sex addict” scheme for publicity? A little outpatient rehab seems like a small investment if the drama pays off with a new show. Will anyone watch it? That’s a good question.

Here are some photos from Saturday night?s Museum of Contemporary Art gala in LA. The event was pretty well attended, and Bedhead?s covering some additional photos from the event. Let?s start with Chloe Sevigny in this Louis Vuitton ensemble. Um? er? well, I guess she thought she needed to wear LV because Vuitton was the sponsor of the event. But this is a really strange look for a formal event in which most women were wearing gowns or cocktail dresses. That?s my biggest complaint: this doesn?t look appropriate for the event. As for the actual ensemble? please don?t tell me you love that belt. Ugh. I guess my favorite part is the huge LV monogrammed clutch.
Here?s Dita Von Teese in Maria Lucia Hohan. At first I was like, ?Eh, we?ve seen this dress a million different times.? Which is true, we have. But every other time, there?s been illusion netting to keep all of the bits and pieces from falling out ? that?s happening with her cleavage, but not with the sides. That?s her skin you?re seeing. Also: the bust is really weird, right? It?s like there?s some secret molding happening on her breasts.
I don?t really know the deal on Isabel Lucas. Is she a thing? It feels like she?s trying to become the next Kate Bosworth, which seems like she?s setting the bar pretty low. Is that all she wants to be? A sometimes-actress and ?fashion girl?? The dress is Louis Vuitton ? it?s not that bad, but I think it would have been cuter without those budget sequins which are throwing weird lighting effects on her face.
Rachel Zoe in Chanel. This is awful, right? We don?t have to pretend to like it because it?s Chanel. This is awful, immature, unflattering and Rachel?s bangs and terrible too. Also: what?s going on with Rodger? He looks deathly.

Katy Perry attended the LA MOCA event in Versace. We haven’t seen Katy wear Versace on the red carpet since 2011. She did make an awful statement in 2012 about Japanese people and Versace: “I’m so obsessed with you, I wanna skin you and wear you like Versace.” (Katy would make the most vacuous serial killer ever.) This dress is unfortunate by default because of the double mullet. Without the front mullet, Katy could show off her legs to great advantage. The dress doesn’t photograph well in stills, but I included some photos of Katy waving it around for fun.
During her red-carpet travels, Katy told told Mark Malkin she’s planning on dying her hair “slime green” for spring. She also regrets her bangs: “I kind of cut my bangs in haste and now I want them gone.” Slime green? I’m sure Katy’s gross new man will appreciate that color.
Dianna Agron wore a cute Louis Vuitton dress. The cut is fantastic, the belt is perfect, and the skirt panels are great. How fun and funky without being overly twee.
Pharrell and Helen Lasichanh overwhelm my eyes. These two crazy kids accessorized to the max. Pharrell must have that Mountie hat in every color.
Jane Fonda looked elegant and age appropriate in her black gown.
Patricia Arquette is such a fashion weirdo, but I appreciate how she owns that mess.
Gia Coppola‘s dress was boring, but she looks so much like her aunt Sofia.

The last time we checked in on Kaley Cuoco, she was walking the red carpet for a charity event last week, and she had long hair. Too much hair, in fact. It was all in her face and it just wasn?t cute. But Kaley decided to go shorter for the Spring, and I think that was a GREAT choice. Kaley posted these photos on her Instagram over the weekend ?I actually think her initial thought was just to get a trim, and then she decided to go for a choppy shoulder-length ?do in the spur of the moment.
I think Kaley has the potential to have great hair, like? she could potentially be known for having great hair, like Jennifer Aniston. Kaley seems to have naturally wavy, full-bodied hair, but if she keeps it below her shoulders, it does weigh her down. This cut is very cute, very fresh and very flattering. Now I just wish she would update her blonde a bit. I feel like she?s trying to do the ombre thing and it just looks like she hasn?t had the time to do her roots.
I?m also including photos of Kaley on Saturday at the Kids Choice Awards. Kaley wore Rebecca Minkoff shorts-and-blazer Pre-Fall 2014. Thoughts? I guess the shorts make it ?lighter? but this just doesn?t seem like an outfit one should wear to a kids? awards show. Too heavy, too professional. I guess we should just be happy that she?s not wearing something too revealing though.

According to her manager, Irving Azoff,Chelsea Handler plans to leave E! after finishing the nine months left on her contract forChelsea Lately, her talk show which has been surprisingly running for 8 years. Wow. Those five people who watch it must have been vocal about keeping it around.
Rumors point to the departure as a result of her dissatisfaction with E!. She told Howard Stern in March that E! is “a sad, sad place to live,” adding, “They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure.” Clearly, she’s wrong. E! obviously knows what they’re doing. They have a 10 year plan of milking the Kardashians dry. Diversification to them is just putting a Kardashian in another city.
Handler’s reps have been setting up meetings with Sony, Lionsgate and FX to see if anyone will let her have her own show. The meetings probably go something like, “Hey, I know you’re in there. I saw you turn off the light.”
