These are photos of Johnny Depp visiting David Letterman last night. Johnny’s looking like one of my uncles here, which is throwing me off. He keeps tweaking his look as he promotes Transcendence. It’s weird how Johnny can change things up in a matter of days. He looked great at the Bejing photocall and went weird again by premiere time. I feel like he spends a lot of time in the mirror, trying to look like he spends no time in front of the mirror. Does that make sense?
Johnny’s back in NYC with Dave. This just happened to be the same episode where Dave announced his retirement. The topic of Amber Heard came up pretty quickly. Johnny mentioned to Dave that people backstage were weeping at Dave’s news. Johnny called Amber his “girl” and describes Amber’s dad as “the closest thing to Hunter S. Thompson that I’ve ever met.” Dave said, “I bet you get a lot of comments” on that mangagement ring. Johnny sheepishly replied, “No, people are scared to comment. Why is a grown man wearing a woman’s engagement ring?” Here’s a clip:
Johnny also pre-taped a Today interview where he talks to Samantha Guthrie about his engagement. He tried to be sly: “Wearing a chick’s engagement ring on my finger, being a fella … as far as you know … because I might be a woman, who knows? I might be. Nobody’s asked that.” Johnny said this about Amber: “She’s a wonderful girl. She’s sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.” He also denied rumors of a shotgun wedding: “What, do you think I’m a savage?” That’s an interesting answer given that he didn’t marry the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis.
Johnny also talked about his childhood “rock star ambitions” and revealed why it’s all about music for him. He also discussed meeting Willie Nelson, whom Johnny calls “the wise man of the mountain.”

It?s about a woman grieving a dead husband, I think? And she?s supposed to look like this, which? props to Jennifer. Usually she only does movies where she can look cute and wear wedges and scarves. She looks properly grief-stricken in these photos. The film also stars Sam Worthington, William H. Macy, Anna Kendrick and Chris Messina.
In other Aniston news, Star Magazine claims that she?s flirting with the idea of joining Kabbalah because she thinks it will make her look younger and be more centered:
Demi Moore has a new soul sister in Jennifer Aniston. The pair recently got together to discuss their rom-com Mean Moms and Jen noticed a marked change in her old pal. ?Jen was struck by how calm and centered Demi seemed? Demi explained that it?s a combination of Kundalini yoga, meditation and studying Kabbalah.?
Intrigued, Jen signed on for Kabbalah lessons. ?Kabbalah is a fit for her because it?s about ?finding your light? and helping others.?
But her fianc Justin Theroux is worried that others are helping themselves to Jen?s cash!
?Justin is skeptical, it sounds to him like a waste of time and a way to get money out of people,? reveals the insider. ?He doesn?t like it.?

It sounds like BS, for sure, although I wouldn?t put it past Jennifer to ?flirt? with the idea of a scam ?religion.? The real Kabbalah is the mystical sect of Judaism ? the Hollywood version of Kabbalah is just slightly less culty than Scientology, and I would buy the idea that Justin is a bit more street-smart when it comes to cults. Also, this made me laugh: ?But her fianc Justin Theroux is worried that others are helping themselves to Jen?s cash!? Don?t they know that only Justin is allowed to do that?! Justin is just protecting his sugar mama from being taken by anyone other than him.

Michael Fassbender likes to dance. We?re always hearing stories about him dancing his ginger off at premiere parties, and occasionally there are brilliant photos of The Bender dancing with The Batch (sidenote: when I write a torrid romance novel, it will be called The Bender & The Batch). So what happens when Dancing Fassy joins forces with a old-school song-and-dance man like Hugh Jackman? Something wonderful. And something sort of sketchy.
Actors Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender reportedly danced around to “Blurred Lines” in between takes for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The 45-year-old actor told The Sun, “Michael was particularly enamored with the video to “Blurred Lines”.”
He added, “We’d strut about. I used to play the song in between takes on the X-Men set. It was a lot of fun. Everyone would just go into character and we’d be strutting around. It was identical to the video but we’d be mutants.”
It wasn’t just dancing either, Jackman added that they would sing along to the huge Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams hit, “I didn’t need to take the high bits. You’d be surprised what talented singers Michael and James [McAvoy] are. They could get up there.”

During his interview on ?The Late Show with David Letterman,? the ?Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? actor offered an explanation as to why he has a diamond engagement ring on his hand.
Depp simply stated, ?I have a female engagement ring. It was too big for my girl.? Presumably he purchased one in her size as well.
Meanwhile, Johnny also commented on Letterman?s announcement that he?s retiring from the show next year, joking that Dave stole his thunder regarding a departure from acting.

After confirming their engagement, Depp sang his lady?s praises- ?She?s a wonderful girl. She?s sharp as a tack, a wonderful southern belle and sweet as can be and very good for me.?
Guthrie alluded to a rumor that Johnny and Amber are ?expecting,? to which he asked, ?Expecting what? A child? Good God, what do you think I am, a savage??
Savannah followed up, ?Any truth to it?? Depp stated, ?No, no, no. It?s not a shotgun affair.?
And though he?s best known for his acting chops, Johnny?s first love has always been music. ?Rock star ambitions, I think those you have as a little kid. I certainly had them. It was all I wanted.?

You know I run new Viggo Mortensen photos whenever we get them in. And this is only the second sighting of Viggo so far this year!! Viggo was in Paris yesterday for a screening of his new film, Two Faces of January. That?s the film costarring Kirsten Dunst, who just this week said she thinks 1950s gender roles are the only way to make a relationship work. I can?t even imagine what Kiki and Viggo would have to say to each other, but sure.
We last saw Viggo when he was in Berlin promoting this same film. Back then (February), Viggo was clean-shaven and he looked a bit tired. In these photos, he?s grown a goatee which has some salt-and-pepper, and his hair is longer too. I?m not sure how I feel about this look. I generally like a little bit of scruff on a man, so I?m okay with the goatee. But he needs to do something different with his hair. It looks limp and thinning.
But what am I saying? Most of you would still bang it sideways. He?s 55 years old, by the way. So, would I hit it? He would have to be on his back, so I would have to look at his stupid hair falling across his forehead. But otherwise, sure. I?d tap that.
PS… You know who tapped that more than a decade ago? Gwyneth Paltrow! They rather famously (allegedly!) had an affair while working together on A Perfect Murder. I will give someone $50 to ask Viggo about Gwyneth’s divorce.

Emma Watson covers the April (??) issue of Elle Australia. So far, we?ve only got the cover. Which is pretty. I?d like to see the full shoot, but I guess I?ll have to wait. This Elle interview is the same one where Emma was talking about looking forward to aging. More quotes have been released and Emma sounds? well, the yoga thing is somewhat interesting. Some highlights:
Emma on her dating rules: “I don’t date people who are famous,” she said, before adding that she also hates the downsides to dating non-famous people. “I don’t think it’s fair that, all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me. I wish I could protect them.”
She?s a board two certified qualified yoga instructor: ?People are like, ‘Where are you living? What are you doing?’ I don’t know. I’m too young to decide right now if I want to live here or in New York or in LA or wherever else. And I really struggled for the answers the past three years. I should really know! I should really commit!? So that?s when she became a yoga instructor. ?I was like, ‘I need to find a way to always feel safe and at home within myself.’ Because I can never rely on a physical place.”
Getting rid of her good girl image by breaking into a pool: ?It was at a hotel, it had a gate around it. My friends turned around and basically I was gone. The next thing they saw was me 7ft up in the air, scaling the fence. I shouldn’t be able to get away with what I’m getting away with.?

The dating thing is confusing. I wonder why she?s so adamant about only dating ?civilians?? The mean part of my brain went to ?I bet none of the really awesome famous people ask her out,? but in real life, I bet a wide variety of famous and non-famous men hit on her. So, she?s committed to dating civilians, and then she complains about how the press tries to find out stuff about them?
As for the yoga instructor thing? it sounds a little bit vapid to me, but hey, at least it?s something to fall back on. When all else fails, she could teach yoga.

I have respect for people who can shop with intelligence and get the best deals. I also have respect for people who are good at bargaining. But does there come a point when good bargaining crosses a line and just becomes ?cheap?? I don?t know. If you?re Anne Hathaway and you have $35 million (or more) in the bank, should you really haggle over the price of a pair of sunglasses at a flea market? That?s what happened, according to Star?s source:
Star Magazine has learned that despite having $35 million in the bank, Anne Hathaway isn?t above haggling with a flea market vendor! Strolling through an LA market in mid-March, Anne spotted a pair of vintage 1960s sunglasses she just had to have, but the $80 price tag seemed steep to Hathaway.
According to an eyewitness, Anne wheedled the amount down to $55 and, to sweeten the deal, agreed to snap a selfie with the seller ? just as long as he promised not to post it online.
?It seemed obvious that Anne was having a blast negotiating deals? she also struck deals on a vase and a vintage straw hat!?

My take: I think people selling their goods at flea markets expect you to haggle. Maybe they even get insulted if you don?t try to haggle. At flea markets, every price is negotiable. And props to Anne for being good at it. I?m so bad at haggling ? if someone quotes me a price I don?t like, I get mad and walk away. I?m all, ?F?k them, I didn?t even want it that much.? It?s even worse when I?m trying to sell something and someone tries to haggle with me ? I get all flummoxed and I don?t know how to handle the art of the deal.
Now, all that being said? Anne Hathaway can afford it. But maybe she can afford it because she knows a good deal and she?s good at haggling. Or maybe she?s just cheap. Or all of the above.

Spring has sprung and love is in the air for Haylie Duff as she just became engaged to boyfriend Matt Rosenberg.
On Thursday (April 3), the "7th Heaven" star posted a photo of the smiling couple to Instagram with the caption, "The future Mrs.Rosenberg #Love @mr_sts."
Elaborating on the announcement via her Real Girl's Kitchen blog, the 29-year-old actress shared, "This week has seriously just become the best week of my life! Revealing her experiences and struggles while filming her latest sci-fi endeavor, Scarlett Johansson went into several interviews to talk all about "Under the Skin."
Of her scenes shot with unsuspecting citizens, who signed contracts after the cameras stopped rolling, the 29-year-old said, "I had never experienced anything like that, shooting a film that was challenging in ways I never could have predicted."
Saying that she had to overcome her own self-consciousness in order to complete her work on "Under the Skin," the "Captain America" beauty continued, "It was a huge milestone for me creatively, I felt much stronger as an actor coming out of production. I felt like I could really be anything."
"She never wavered," added director Jonathon Glazer. "And I put her in some uncompromising situations." But Johansson said she was also given the tools she needed to create a convincing Black Widow in her recent superhero flicks, thanks to "Under the Skin."
Scarlett also spoke at a press conference in New York about those uncompromising situations on the set of the sci-fi horror, saying, "The first time I saw it I was terrified, partly because of things like the nudity. I didn't know how that was going to be used. I didn't know how naked my performance would be figuratively."
However, thanks to stunning photography and imagery, Scarlett added, "The terror that I had going in [watching it] quickly faded when I became immersed in the visual."
"Under the Skin" hits theaters tomorrow (April 4), so get ready for an exclusive look at the human condition through the eyes of a dark, twisted alien being!
