Kirsten Dunst, who won Best Actress for Melancholia at Cannes, was asked what she thought about Lars von Trier’s ban from the film festival as a result of his joke about Nazis. Despite him being the director, she thought it was justified.
Kirsten called him inappropriate and idiotic and that he paid for his comments. She added that she was pleased the festival and the jury “could see beyond his words” (gave me a shiny award). Actually, Kirsten seemed pretty indifferent to the whole thing. The glare from the award probably distracted her. “Yesss, yess, come to me my pretty,” Kirsten was muttering when she accepted her award.

Estella Warren, who you may have purposefully forgotten starred in the dismal Marky Mark Planet of the Apes remake, was arrested in LA yesterday for hitting three cars, kicking a cop and attempting to flee a police station. She out Lindsay Lohan’ed Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay is going to be so pissed.
TMZ says the incident happened Monday night. Warren was driving in LA when she hit three parked cars with her Toyota Prius. She turned it into a hit-and-run but cops found her and arrested her for DUI. She didn’t go quietly as she resisted and kicked a cop. Warren was taken to the police station in handcuffs and while they were booking her, she managed to escape her handcuffs and run out the back door. She didn’t get too far considering it was a f**king police station and she was recaptured.
Warren was booked for felony escape, assault, hit and run and DUI. A law enforcement source said in the world’s most obvious statement, “She was really hammered.”
This all happened just before midnight so maybe Estella was trying to rush home before her fairy godmother took away her 15th minute of fame. Suffice to say, it worked. Now she’s moderately famous again. I love happy endings.

Former Sports Illustrated model and “Planet of the Apes” star Estella Warren is in jail today after hitting three parked cars while driving drunk in L.A. last night. But wait — it gets better! After she was arrested for DUI, she then kicked the arresting officer and even managed to escape police custody by shimmying out of her handcuffs. I believe the term we’re looking for here is “balls-out.” TMZ says:
Warren was driving [just before midnight] in L.A. when she struck 3 parked cars in her Toyota Prius. Warren drove away but cops spotted her and placed her under arrest for driving under the influence, though not before she resisted and kicked an officer.

As one law enforcement source [said], “She was really hammered.” Warren’s bail has set at $100,000.
You’d think Estella would be happy that she proved her agent wrong by actually getting arrested in this town, but no. Some people just don’t appreciate irony.

I showed one of these photos yesterday, but I didn?t identify where it came from. Yesterday, Gwyneth attended the ?Flower Show For Peasants? (also known as the Chelsea Flower Show) in England. Dame Goop was there to shill her cook book to the English peasants. She did not look thrilled about it, in my opinion. I think Goop is kind of ?over? this whole ?promoting one?s book in a tour of the peasant shopping districts? thing. I didn?t really hate Goop?s outfit - white jacket, white blouse, khaki pants, heels (okay, the pants are totally fug). But I hate her hair. She?s still flat-ironing it! Goop and Jennifer Aniston have that in common - they?re both so 1990s with their flat-irons.
Also: can you tell how much Gwyneth hates posing with her book? Like, she?s ashamed to be at this event with all of these authentic English people and she feels like a dirty American peasant trying to make a buck. That?s what she is, though.
Meanwhile, an ACTUAL Dame, Dame Helen Mirren was also at the Chelsea Flower event too. She was invited because a carnivorous plant was being named in her honor. Damn, Dame Helen is so awesome even botanists are like ?let?s name this man-eating plant after Helen Mirren.?

At one point during the strip, a big native Hawaiian came up to Justin and screamed “Do you want a snow cone?!” causing Justin to shriek, push Selena in front of him and run away flailing. True story.

Kirsten Dunst was presented with the Prix de l’Interpretation Feminine in Cannes yesterday for her role in the Lars von Trier film “Mein Kampf” “Melancholia.” The Daily Mail says:
Kirsten Dunst conquered the Cannes Film Festival by taking the best actress award from a jury led by Robert De Niro and for a movie made by banned film-maker Lars von Trier.
The 29-year-old star thought her chances of winning at Cannes were dimmed after Von Trier was [banned] by the festival’s board after telling a press conference he understood Hitler and that he ‘was a Nazi’.
She gives a terrific, deeply felt performance in Melancholia as a newly-wed bride who instantly regrets her marriage while at the same time the planet Earth is on collision course with another planet.
Imagine my surprise when I learned that “Prix de l’Interpretation Feminine” wasn’t French for “Teeth Like Nasty Bits of Broken Tile.” And for the record, the banning of Lars von Trier marks the only time in history the French have ever successfully forced a Nazi out of France.

Last night was something or other to do with the ?Drama Desk?. Awards? Like, they were handing out awards? Sure. Probably. Several celebrities who are not currently on the NY stage showed up. Like Katie Holmes! You know what? I?ve always thought that if Kate Middleton looked like any American celebrity, it was Lauren Conrad, but now I?m revising that. Waity looks like Katie Holmes and Lauren Conrad?s love child. Anyway, Katie was at the Drama Desk Awards, wearing this dress of her own design - it?s ?Holmes & Yang?. I actually have something nice to say about this dress: the color is really pretty on her. And the dress isn?t flat-out horrible and cheap-looking. Sure, it?s unflattering the fit is off and it makes her look thick-waisted and/or pregnant, but overall, we?ve seen Katie look so much worse. Plus, her hair and makeup is pretty good here too.
Daniel Radcliffe was at the Drama Desk event too. He?s actually in a Broadway show (How To Success in Business), and you know, he?s cute as a button. I would eat him up.
I?m sorry, but this photo of a ?stached Lee Pace, goofy Jim Parsons and a jacked Ellen Barkin is making my day. How funny is this? Lee Pace is really making love to the camera, isn’t he?

When I first heard this story I saw the picture of this chick, squinted and realized she looked vaguely familiar but that I had no idea who she was. Then I read that she was in Planet of the Apes, which I’ve seen, so that must explain it. Warren is 32 and has been in some movies recently that I’ve never heard of. She just got in a heap of trouble with the law in a DUI incident that is so ridiculous it sounds like a scripted scene out of a sitcom - or a random day in Lindsay Lohan’s life. Warren drunkenly rammed her Prius into three parked cars and drove away. When the cops tried to nab her she resisted arrest and kicked an officer. Then when she was being booked at the station she somehow took her handcuffs off (I guess they were the plastic kind) and ran out the back door. They got her again and she’s in jail at this point, probably trying to sleep it off.

These are some new photos of Dita Von Teese out and about in LA yesterday. She stopped by the Vivienne Westwood boutique and picked out some pieces at Fred Segal. Can you believe that Dita walks out of the house looking like this, and she?s just out to do a spot of shopping? Amazing. Anyway, I love the look from head to toe. The world is Dita?s red carpet and I admire her commitment to always looking pulled-together and fabulous. I love her hair like this. I love the sexy red dress, which is cut beautifully. I love the black and white clutch, and I love the matchy-matchy shoes. If you?re going to do matchy-matchy, do it like this.
Meanwhile, Dita recently did an interview with the NYT?s Style Magazine. The full piece is here, and it?s totally worth a read if you want to hear about Dita?s beauty secrets. Here are some highlights:
TT: If pressed for time when doing your makeup, what are your bare essentials?
DVT: Flawless skin is the most important thing, then red lips. In exactly that order. Red lips don?t look good on blotchy, uneven skin. I use Dior Capture Totale Foundation, and a dusting of Mineralize Powder by MAC. Dior Dolce Vita is my favorite red lipstick. When in a rush, I tie my hair back and throw on a great pair of sunglasses?and voila! Don?t underestimate the cosmetic power of sunglasses. It?s worth spending a bit of money on a quality pair. I usually go for Dior or Louis Vuitton.
TT: I can tell that underneath the foundation and powder you have lovely skin. How do you care for it?
DVT: I have really sensitive skin, and a few allergies, so I stay on it. I recently had a bout with rosacea. I was told by a big name dermatologist, ?this is your life now,? because he couldn?t figure out how to get rid of it. A million creams later, I went to a real skin doctor in Orange County. He prescribed a pill and one lotion, and boom, it was gone. The moral being: find the guy who takes your insurance.
TT: He sounds knowledgeable. Did he give you any other tips?
DVT: Yes, he said it doesn?t matter what moisturizer you use. Just make sure you put it on right after cleansing, while your skin is still damp. That way your pores can absorb it while they are still open. So choose any cream you like for the face and body. My choice is always Creme de la Mer- it?s pricey, but so worth it.
TT: Who are your favorite beauty icons?
DVT: Oh, my all time favorite is Betty Grable. Her look, her humor and most of all her spirit and sense of individuality. Just like Madonna 20 years ago. She was unlike anyone, and stayed true to herself. Modern day, I find Carmen Dell?Orefice very unique and fantastic.
TT: Has it taken time to find what works best for you?
DVT: My look has taken time to evolve. I?ve gotten to a place where I feel pretty and confident. I think that?s important for anyone. Personally, I have no reason to change it, no matter what people say or advise. I will save baring all for the person I am intimate with.
TT: Being a natural blonde, what do you use to darken your brows?
DVT: It?s easy with Just For Men hair dye. I?m kind of a do-it-yourself person as far as my hair, makeup and styling go. I?m in the process of writing a beauty book, where I do it all. It?s hard work. But nothing good comes easy.
TT: As for your incredible figure- how do you stay in shape?
DVT: I think variety is key. I prefer the competitive atmosphere of a classroom setting, like yoga or Pilates. That keeps me going. Although performing on stage is great exercise! I just haven?t been doing it as much as I?d like. It?s all the requirements and special effects I need to do a show. Many venues are not big enough or are not set up for everything. Many can?t accommodate my Opium Den, for example, which is part of my most opulent show. I won?t settle for middle of the road- I go for grand. I?m pretty particular, as you might have guessed.

I don?t think I could pick Simon Fuller out of a lineup. He looks kind of like Piers Morgan, right? Like a thin version of Piers, I think. Anyway, Simon Fuller, the creator of such shows as American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance?, and various hit reality-competition shows overseas (he?s British, and he got his start in the UK), got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. Several people whose careers were launched by Fuller attended the event. Like Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood and Posh Beckham. Jennifer Lopez was there too, with Marc Anthony, and they put on a little show for the photographers, nuzzling, touching and kissing.
Is it gross? I?m of two minds on this. On the surface, yeah, it?s kind of gross. Gross because Jennifer is acting like she?s all hot and bothered for Marc, who is not a very attractive man, in my opinion. BUT? it?s also kind of nice. Jennifer finally settled down with somebody who makes her really happy. They?ve been together how many years now? Seven? That?s forever in Lopez-years. So? yeah, they?re kind of gross, kind of cute. And there?s also an element of Jennifer?s resurging power too - she and Marc were placed in the front row, and most of the cameras were pointed on them, rather than on Posh Beckham or Carrie Underwood, or even Simon Fuller. Jennifer never goes any place where she cannot be THE STAR.
By the way, the dress is? not flattering. Yes, she?s proud of her curves and no, she shouldn?t have to hide them. But she should know how to flatter them, and this is not flattering.

Anyhoodle, Linnocent is allegedly in Miami because she was doing a photo shoot for Plum Magazine, but at this point, I think she?s just hanging out in Miami on the magazine?s dime. According to Page Six, the photo shoot only took place on Saturday, and Linnocent spent Friday, half of Saturday, and Sunday in various Miami clubs and bars - Fontainebleau’s LIV and Arkadia nightclubs. They even say that Linnocent was so cracked out, she rushed into the DJ booth and started ?deejaying?. I?m sure she was drinking ?water? the whole time. By the way, whatever happened to all of her community service hours that she was so eager and happy to fulfill? Guess all of those women in need will have to fend for themselves!
In other Linnocent news, did you hear about these Stephen King rumors? He gave an interview where he discussed the possibility of a remake of Carrie, the King book which was brilliantly adapted by Brian De Palma into a film starring Sissy Spacek. King said that he wouldn?t really be opposed to casting Linnocent as Carrie in a possible remake, especially if David Lynch or David Cronenberg got their hands on it. When Linnocent heard this, her crack hustle went into full effect. She ran to TMZ and had them run a story based on ?sources? saying that she would be ?stoked? to work on the project and it ?would be epic.? AND she also wants a part in The Dark Tower. Oh, Stephen King! What crackheadednesss hath he wrought? Sidenote: Does Linnocent think she?s so friggin? important and desirable as a professional that she couldn?t comment DIRECTLY about Stephen King? She?s so used to calling up TMZ and feeding them quotes and stories using ?sources? as her byline that she?s forgotten how to react to a rumor directly.

The former "Dawson's Creek" star looked stunning in a shiny purple gown as she tended to the arrivals press area before heading inside to ready for the annual ceremony honoring the best in theatre to get underway.
As for her appearance, Miss Holmes is among the celebrity presenters while joining fellow trophy passer-outers including Daniel Radcliffe, Ellen Barkin and David Hyde Pierce.
Making for quite the hectic day, Katie flew into NYC earlier in the day via helicopter after having been visiting her husband Tom Cruise as he works in Miami, Florida.

When Hollyscoop asked the singer about the possibility of joining the recent Hollywood baby boom, Fergie told, "Oh yeah, of course. Not right this second. Not pregnant, for the record. But, yeah."
Since her and the rest of the Peas are on hiatus, the 36-year-old says she just happy to have more time at home, revealing, "We're taking a break ... getting more of that personal time."
Fergie continued, "Josh and I have gotten to spend a lot more time together this year than other years, which is great."
