Today (March 14) is the day that millions of ?Veronica Mars? fans have been waiting for, as the Kickstarter-funded flick is now in theaters. And last night (March 13) Kristen Bell attended a Q&A session at PaleyFest to get in some last-minute promotion.
Joined by costars Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Chris Lowell, Ryan Hansen and Enrico Colantoni, the ?Forgetting Sarah Marshall? starlet chatted about all things Mars.
Meanwhile, creator Rob Thomas let slip that Kristen and Jason?s characters weren?t originally destined to be together.
?The truth is, we never had any intention at all for Logan to end up with Veronica. He was hired to be the obligatory psychotic jacka**. In the writer?s room, sitting around watching dailies, we would all gather around, and it was like, ?We want to watch that. We want to watch those two onscreen together.? And that?s how it built. We were watching the same thing you were and going, ?Wow. More of that, please!? And fortunately, we had the ability to make that happen.?
As for how Ms. Bell scored the gig, it turns out Rob had her picked from the beginning. ?I saw 100 actresses for the role of Veronica; Kristen was the very first actress I saw. We spent three weeks, four weeks of casting, and I kept thinking, ?Was that first girl as brilliant as I thought she was???
Thomas discovered that he?d chosen wisely right away in the pilot episode. ?I?m watching her from the monitor, and tears start streaming down her face, and I?m just like, ?Holy sh?! We have a star! She is so unbelievable!? There?s this joke of really top-notch actors, like, ?How many tears do you want and out of which eye?? Kristen can deliver that.?
Furthermore, Kristen succinctly explained the reason Veronica and Logan work so well, despite the disparity in their upbringings. ?There?s something, an intangible, that we?re lucky enough to have when we work together. But it?s also like wounded birds recognize other wounded birds.?

Well, this sort of explains things. I?ve been wondering about Reese Witherspoon?s career lately. Reese?s business/career moves for the past few years have indicated that she was ready and willing to reboot her film career and rebrand herself as a go-to dramatic and comedic (and even action) leading lady. But the parts never really came, despite the fact that she?s married to one of the most well-connected and powerful agents in LA. And before everyone jumps on me, yes, I know she?s a producer too. She?s producing Gone Girl and she?s rumored to be eyeing some other big projects too. If she was easing into a more behind-the-scenes role in Hollywood, that would be one thing. But she?s not.
What she is doing is branding herself into a lifestyle product, much like Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Blake Lively (we?re still waiting on the groundbreaking lifestyle blog from Blake though). According to WWD:
C. Wonder president Andrea Hyde has been hired by Reese Witherspoon to be chief executive officer of her as-yet-unnamed lifestyle company. The omnichannel venture, which will emphasize Witherspoon?s Southern roots and personal style, will launch in 2015. Hyde?s last day as president of C. Wonder will be Friday.

So, Southern Goop. Only ? to give Gwyneth some credit ? Goop started out as a smaller idea, and it grew somewhat organically into this huge Goop Brand where there?s now a Goop online store and there are outside partnerships with Tracy Anderson and all of that. It sounds like Reese doesn?t have any interest in building a base of online fans and then easing herself into a lifestyle brand. She wants to start at the top, which is why she hired someone major (a real executive) to run this venture.
I do kind of wonder? is this the state of Hollywood? Would Gwyneth, Jessica Alba, Blake and Reese be branding themselves into lifestyle mavens if they were actually in-demand as actresses? Is lifestyle branding the ?easy way? to go now, when the parts dry up but you still want people to pay attention? And like Gwyneth, does this mean we get to analyze every part of Reese?s life now? Because that?s what making yourself into a lifestyle brand is all about ? ?look at the way I live, buy the clothes I buy, have the kind of marriage I have, mother your children the way I mother, and don?t forget to bitch out your arresting officer!?
Now, all that being said, if Reese does a Southern Goop site, I will totally visit it. COUNTRY GOOP, Y?ALL.

When I glanced at the thumbnails of this photo set, I thought it was Chelsea Handler. It?s not! It?s LeAnn Rimes. Maybe it?s the harsh sunlight in these pics or maybe it?s the shade of blonde? whatever it is, LeAnn might need to change it up a little bit. I would be so offended if someone mistook me for Handler.
Anyway, these are some photos of LeAnn in Calabasas yesterday, doing some shopping. This is most likely one of those occasions when LeAnn called the paps so they could take photos of her outfit. So let?s talk about the outfit! The skinny jeans are? not good, but I guess they?re not bad either. If you?re determined to wear skinny jeans, you could do a lot worse. My complaint is with the wash of the denim ? they could/should be darker. As for the sweater? minus the trashy-looking ripped back, I have this sweater. I bought mine (with a full back) at Old Navy. I love star-covered sweaters. They?re cutesy and patriotic and I can?t wait to wear mine again (maybe tonight!). LeAnn?s sweater is cute from the front and an absolute mess in the back.
And that?s about all there is to discuss with LeAnn? she hasn?t been engaging in a lot of Twitter nonsense, there have been no ?OMG, the tragedy of my life, but I?m super-happy!? interviews. A few weeks ago, she did Single-White-Female a pair of McQueen shoes that Brandi tweeted about (go here to see that controversy), but other than that? all?s quiet on the Crazy Train. LeAnn obviously still pays attention to Brandi, but she?s learned to contain herself. Maybe? Don?t worry, though ? I?m sure LeAnn will open up some fresh hell for us soon enough.
PS? That rooster-tail bun thing needs to go.

Kristin Cavallari and her husband, Jay Cutler, have come out as vaccine truthers aka idiots. In an interview on the Fox Business channel(via ThinkProgress) on Thursday, Cavallari said “Fuck you, science!,” and told host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery that she won’t be vaccinating her second kid, yet to be birthed, and has not vaccinated her first kid for fear that it will induce autism.
When Montgomery tried to present her with facts, Cavallari told the host that she’s “read too many books about autism” and cited that 1 in 88 boys are diagnosed with autism today. Well, that settles it then. This woman has read books! Books don’t lie, bro. Then to combine that with a random statistic? Science should just give up now.
Cavallari then went to the go-to talking point that contemporary vaccines have higher levels of mercury than those in the past which makes them dangerous. A claim that has been refuted by scientists. You know, those guys in white coats who perform controlled tests and studies. Not to be confused with those guys in white coats who should probably haul her ass to a psyche ward.
She went on to say that one anti-vaccine organization whose members refuse to vaccinate their children had zero cases of autism. Naturally, this means the theory has been proven. Case closed.
So if her kids end up with measles, mumps or whooping cough, feel free to them it’s because their parents were legally retarded.

Several days ago, it was announced that Lindsay Lohan had gotten a ?job.? She was going to guest star on the ?hit? CBS show 2 Broke Girls, which? I don?t know if you?ve ever chanced upon the show, but it?s awful. It?s so bad that I feel waves of pity for Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. So, it?s not like Lindsay got a guest spot on some critically acclaimed show (I would think The Walking Dead would want her though, just because she wouldn?t need much makeup). Basically, I kind of think Lindsay scored the right guest spot on the right TV show, except that I don?t see how anyone would want to hire her at this point. People lining up to work with the Cracken get what they deserve: a cracked-out wreck who can?t remember her lines or bother to be professional whatsoever.
I came upon this CDAN story, which it looks like ENTY wrote himself. He was at the taping of this episode of 2 Broke Girls, and he wrote a lengthy post about all of the crap that went down. Some highlights:
How Lohan looked: ?Red hair. Lips so plumped out she couldn?t really get them open because of her botox which also caused her to have trouble pronouncing certain words. Of course she won?t be able to pronounce anything if she keeps smoking because her voice is rapidly disappearing into some type of screaming smoking raspy hell hole. You know when you go to some type of event that requires a lot of yelling or screaming and you can barely speak. Combine that with a three pack a day habit and botox and see how well you do. There was a scene later on in the show that required Lindsay to say the words Hawaii and Bahamas in succession. She couldn’t move her botoxed muscles enough to get that combination down without pausing between each. It sounded like someone who had injected with Novocaine an hour earlier.?
Lohan kept screwing up the simplest of lines: ?This first initial half of a full scene had about five lines from Lindsay. It took about 45 minutes to shoot because she never could get through without screwing up. She would get one line and screw up another. There was some combination that she always managed to find that she had not done previously.?
After screwing up her lines & 30 minutes of re-writes, ?two scenes were shot with the entire regular cast and they took about twenty minutes to go through two scenes. All flawless. Once again it was time for Lindsay, but off camera. All she had to do was read one line of script. READ it. It took her three times to get it right.?
Lindsay?s final scene: ?So, there was one big scene left with Lindsay. She is in a wedding dress and has cold feet about the wedding. She has six or seven lines. 45 minutes later when the audience can see the finish line of this scene a cell phone starts ringing. Loudly. ?I?m sorry, that?s mine. Hello. I have to call you back.? Yes, it was Lindsay?s phone. One more time through the last part of the scene. Ten more minutes gone from my life.?
Last impressions: Over five hours of shooting for 18 minutes (4 minutes pre-recorded). Three of those hours were for the few scenes Lindsay had. When the final product airs next month people will see the editing and Lindsay?s best from those scenes and think to themselves that she isn?t that bad. The lines were well written and with as many shots as she had at each one she was bound to get something that can be used. People will tune into watch. The 200 people that sat through that taping though will know that Lindsay didn?t deserve to be on the show. They will know that every single person who had lines on the show was at least ten times better than Lindsay and in many cases a hundred times better. Kate Dennings and Beth Behrs had hundreds of lines each. Because of Lindsay they had to repeat them for hours. No matter what though they always got laughs from their lines. Lindsay didn?t. People were tired of her. They wanted it to end. What I saw in Kat and Beth were two people who respected the fact they have jobs that pay very well and may never be given a second chance to make this kind of money or be on this kind of show. They knew every line and where to be and what to say and how to act and they were professional. Lindsay looked like someone who took her script with her while she partied for a week straight and could show up and work it out while filming the show. That attitude is why she doesn?t work. She didn?t take it seriously. It was a paycheck. I hope she doesn?t get many more.?

Radar is running a story based on ENTY?s post, and I imagine other sites will too. Good. I hope they do. I feel the same way about Lohan as I do with Lady Gaga: they?re not worth the energy at this point. Yes, it?s fun to watch a train wreck for a while and yes, I think many of us are curious to see the names which got blurred out by In Touch Weekly, but let?s not pretend that Lindsay is an interesting or compelling person or that she?ll ever change or ?get better.? She?s had enough chances. Enough.

This is the first known selfie of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. I love this couple so much. They’ve been together for 14 years and married for 12. They did marry in their early 20s, which isn’t a positive sign in Hollywood (or elsewhere). Yet Sarah and Freddie defied the odds and the 2012 tabloid rumors of their demise. Now they have posted their first selfie together. That’s very notable because this couple is rarely photographed together. Red carpet dates have been nonexistent for years, and I get the feeling that they prefer to hang out together at home with their kids. Sarah decided to take the couple-selfie plunge to celebrate landing 200,000 followers on Twitter. Look at Freddie’s dimples. I die.
I also wanted to talk about a new interview Freddie has done to talk about his upcoming return to Bones. He is very careful to point out that this is only a guest role because he is needed at home. So much for those other tabloid rumors about him wanting to drop Mr. Mom duty. He thrives upon family time:
He never watched Sarah as Buffy: “I’ve never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh, you can judge. That’s fine, I don’t care. It wasn’t written for my demographic, so I never saw it.” The single episode he has seen? “Once More With Feeling,” the show’s iconic musical episode. “Well, they had a tap dancer in it that I thought was really cool. I wanted to watch him dance.”
He’s guesting on Bones again: “It’s definitely night and day compared to the first episode. I mean in the first episode, he was almost recruiting Booth to get the hell out of the FBI and kind of come to the dark side of the force, so to speak. And in this one, you see much more of their relationship as opposed to just how they interact and work together. You see the sort of trust that guys who serve together would have. I’ve never served myself but I have family and friends who have, and when you’re trusting the guy next to you with your life, you may not see him for ten, fifteen, twenty years, the moment you see him, you’d still die for him. It’s a tight relationship, so for that to get challenged, which it does in this episode, it has to be pretty major.”
He won’t do full-time tv: “I can’t put in 15 hour days. I would never see my kids again. I’m a full-time dad, I’m a part-time actor. I just can’t do it.”

Freddie is very fortunate that he is able to pursue a part-time work schedule and spend more time with his family. I bet he knows it. He’s still producing for the WWE too. Sarah’s new show, The Crazy Ones, might be facing the ax, which is a shame. I wish she could find a new hit show and run with it.

I know how Scarlett Johansson and Marvel are going to cheat their way through the Avengers sequel filming! They?re just going to make Black Widow all about ScarJo?s magnificent rack. That?s a pregnancy bounty that Marvel wasn?t counting on, and I?m sure they?ll put it to great use. Anyway, these are photos from last night?s LA premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Bedhead will do the boys from the premiere later on). ScarJo wore this Armani Prive Spring 2009 ensemble which is super-flattering. Unless I was really looking for it, I would not have noticed her tiny little baby bump (or what most of us call ?a normal stomach?). ScarJo looks very pretty here ? I like her styling, the Armani is flattering, her hair looks good. The only bad thing I can say is that she looks exhausted. I hope she gets a nap soon.
As for The Avengers: Age of Ultron and the rumors that ScarJo?s bump will disrupt the film schedule, at yesterday?s press conference, she said:
?Everything for “Avengers 2? — we’re full steam ahead. We start shooting in three weeks and I’m stunt training and we’re good to go. You know, I think it’s something that is [laughing] hard to talk about, exactly. You know, trying to skirt around your question exactly [laughs] — and, you know, doing a poor job of it. Yep. Marvel is just going to film her from the boobs up. They might not even show her face! This really is the ultimate bad news/good news for Marvel. Bad news: they have to hire a body double to do most of the stunt work. Good news: the close-ups of ScarJo and her breast bounty are going to be epic. News broke just yesterday that Kate Upton would be the new face of retail giant Express, and the blonde bombshell is already starting her new duties!
On Thursday (March 13), the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl graced the catwalk and showed off her hosting skills at Express' runway show in Miami Beach, FL.
Looking perfect for the Sunshine state weather, Kate rocked a flirty white dress and tan blazer as she posed for the cameras before taking a front row seat to check out the new duds.
Eager to take part in this new opportunity, Miss Upton retweeted a message from Express about her new job, adding, "so excited !!"

Hoping to gain approval from fans across the nation, Taylor Swift starred in a funny For Your Consideration video, featuring Scott Borchetta, founder of her record label, Big Machine Records.
With the 51-year-old business man trying to get a hold of her, the country-pop sensation avoids him and his attempt to get her to create an ACM video, telling him she has important things to do.
A few of the 24-year-old beauty's things to do include: painting her fingernails, feeding her kitty cat and telling a close friend all about her past failed romances!
As Scott patiently awaits Taylor's return, we see her friend telling her, "We were done, and then like a week later, they got together and that's like a few weeks ago and now they're in Italy."
Taylor responded in kind, saying of her past loves, "That's a big jump! That's a little fast, and I'm saying that. This guy is the reason why they made that block feature on the iPhone. You need to put his name in your phone as a weird word that's unattractive like 'grundle."'
And after all of her antics, Taylor's video concluded with Scott flashing a smile at the camera, and her considerations include: Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Video of the Year. Watch the video below!
