She?s always a welcome sight, and last night (June 25) Julianne Hough showed up at the SVEDKA With a Splash of Summer party in Beverly Hills.
The ?Rock of Ages? actress was joined by her ?Dancing with the Stars? brother Derek Hough at the SVEDKA Summer House, and looked gorgeous in a flirty peach-colored dress.
Julianne recently enjoyed some quality time with her nieces, and after a trip to Sea World, she posted a photo with a dolphin to her Instagram account along with the caption, ?I?m in love!?
After the kiddos departed, Hough added, ?Playing aunty juju for the week?. It?s kinda hard to be taken seriously though when your 14yr old niece is as tall as you and like a total woman?With great music and clothing taste might I add.?

Joined by a tiger-stripe-wearing gal pal, the Israeli stunner looked slick in a black tank top teamed with black trousers and black sunglasses as she strolled out of the Kling boutique.
And it seems Bar has been getting plenty of attention from her provocative posts in the social media realm this month.

Gearing up for a gig in Cologne, Germany, Rihanna strolled out of her hotel in London, England this morning (June 26).
The ?Umbrella? songstress donned a t-shirt with a photo of Kate Moss smoking a joint along with a pair of denim shorts and a camouflage fedora.
Meanwhile back in the States, Rihanna has filed a restraining order against Robert Melanson, who was caught walking on the roof of her house on June 17th with a few maps of the property.
In the court documents, she states that she ?fears for her safety? given Melanson?s psychological state. He was place on a psychiatric hold after his arrest and released 48 hours later.

We?ve been getting a lot of photos of Biel and her dogs in NYC these days, so I guess she and Justin are spending their first year of marriage in the city?? Anyway, these aren?t the average celebrity-with-their-dogs photos. According to The Daily Mail, Jessica is carrying a remote control for her dogs? shock collars. You can see more photos here.
I actually think one of the dogs might be wearing a shock collar, but not the other one. It looks like the pit bull just has a chain collar, right? And the boxer (?) or boxer-mix is wearing the shock collar. Her dogs always look exhausted, which is something that I?ve heard dog trainers tell people ? if you have active, even aggressive dogs, take them for long walks to exhaust them and sap their excess energy. It?s possible that Jessica thinks only one of her dogs has aggression issues, and that?s the one with the shock collar.
Earlier this year, Eva Mendes also talked about shock-collaring her big, beautiful Belgian Malinois too ? go here to read the older story. This is my problem with the situation: why get these giant, protective, guard/attack dogs if you have to shock-collar them to run errands? It?s ridiculous. Although now that I?m looking at those photos of Eva Mendes again, I realize that she?s holding the shock collar remote in several photos too. WHY? Why are you taking your dogs out in public to run errands if you?re so concerned they?ll hurt someone?

During their chat, Miley explained the process of healing up from a recent bout with laryngitis that sidelined her for a bit.
Cyrus shared, ?I had to actually stop and give myself some time, which I never like doing. I never take a second just to get myself better and focus on me. It?s amazing when you really treat your body right how quickly your body gets back into action. So I?ve been trying to just be really healthy.?

Last night was the NYC premiere of White House Down, which I?m sure will be yet another big hit film for Channing Tatum. Channing, Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal were all at the premiere. Maggie plays a White House staffer (to Jamie Foxx?s president) in the film ? she might even play a Secret Service agent? Anyway, Maggie got a lot of the attention at last night?s premiere because she wore this completely ridiculous Christian Dior dress. You know I sort of like Maggie ? she?s smart and interesting, and sometimes her style is kind of cool. But I think this dress was a big mistake. The super-structured peplum is ridiculous! And it?s made out of, like, a waffle-knit! I also kind of hate the clash of patterns and I think the skirt should be knee-length rather than tea-length.
Have we really discussed Maggie?s pixie cut? She got it several months ago. I have mixed feelings ? I don?t think it?s as flattering and youthful as she thinks it is, but it?s not terrible either. I think it will look cuter when she grows it out a little bit more, but it just seems to be at an awkward stage right now.
I?m also including photos of Channing and Jamie, of course, the real stars of the film. I like Channing?s suit and his goatee. Hot. I think Jamie looks better with facial hair too ? it?s weird seeing him clean-shaven in the film. Jamie also looks like he lost weight for the movie, then bulked up after they were done.

Emma Watson covers the new issue of Teen Vogue, and she was styled in kind of punk-rock (-ish) way. Her styling actually reminds me a lot of Kristen Stewart?s styling when K-Stew was doing The Runaways. Sort of Joan Jett, but with some couture elements. I especially like Emma?s freckles on the cover ? very cute! I?m glad the mag didn?t airbrush them out. I?m assuming Emma covers Teen Vogue because she?s promoting The Bling Ring. Emma had a new interview with The Radio Times where she talks about the consumerism at the heart of the film:
After starring in the Harry Potter films as the very sensible Hermione, she has progressed to playing a teenager who steals designer clothes in her latest film. But it seems Emma Watson is still Hermione at heart after she revealed she has only eight pairs of shoes. And despite amassing a fortune of more than 26million, she condemned extravagant celebrity lifestyles as ?consumerism as a form of kleptomania?.
The 23-year-old stars in The Bling Ring which opens in the UK next week. It is based on the true story of a gang of teenagers who stole 2million of luxury goods from the homes of celebrities in the Hollywood Hills.
Their biggest haul came from the home of heiress Paris Hilton. The 32-year-old socialite whose great-grandfather founded the Hilton Hotels chain, gave permission to film at her home.
For Miss Watson, stepping into Miss Hilton?s vast walk-in wardrobes was like walking into a department store.
Miss Watson said: ?It?s almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania. She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on. But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We?ve all bought things on impulse but that?s an entirely different thing.?
However, Miss Watson appears to be much more down-to-earth.
She claimed: ?I?ve got about eight pairs of shoes and that?s it.?
She went on to say she would not describe herself as a celebrity.
She told Radio Times: ?There?s a whole new definition to celebrity now. And I think that?s why you see a lot of actors blanching at being associated with that word ?celebrity? because it?s become something that isn?t really associated with having a craft… But it?s easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I?m dressed in designer clothes right now.?
Following the last Harry Potter film, 2011?s Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Miss Watson has been taking an English literature degree at Brown University in the US.
Commenting on her studies, she said: ?I?ve always juggled my education with working and I?ve always liked the balance of that. I?ve always liked being able to go and do a film and then take a break and use my brain and do something different. I hope one day to do a Masters. But I?m just going to keep gently moving towards it and I?m not in any particular rush.?

She only has eight pairs of shoes? I could see that, but only because these celebrities get to borrow so many clothes (and then return them). So Emma can borrow unlimited pairs of Louboutins and Jimmy Choos but yes, she doesn?t ?own? them. That being said, I kind of agree with her. But I have the luxury of working from home and I don?t have to dress up at all for my job or anything else. Which means that I have an addiction to flip-flops and slippers. I think I have more than a dozen pairs of flip-flops and slippers. Emma judges me.

Alyssa Milano covers the June/July issue of Maxim topromote her new ABC show, “Mistresses,” which isn’t doing so well in the ratings, but perhaps some of you have watched it and can make a prediction or whether or not it will survive into a second season. Regardless of her current show’s fate, Alyssa has enjoyed quite the fruitful, lengthy television career of which most actors can only dream. She started out with several years on “Who’s the Boss?” (which is where my girlcrush started) and then put in eight years as the only real reason to watch “Charmed.” Plus, she’s 40 years old now, and check out this Maxim cover. She’s pretty ageless, right? Even though she’s been hitting the Botox lately, I still think Alyssa’s far less tweaked than most actresses her age and several of those who are much younger. Here are some interview excerpts:
On growing up on camera: “It wasn’t weird, because I didn’t know any different. You know, I went through puberty like everyone else; it only got embarrassing when the show would take what was going on with me and write it into the show, like ‘Samantha’s First Bra.’ It was like, ‘OK, guys, do we really need to do this?’ But what an awesome time stamp!”
On 1980s child stardom: “That was an era when TV child actors just didn’t work after their show was over. I think Christina Applegate and I are the only two who maintained some sort of career path past the shows that launched us. But I have a great family, and I look at a lot of these kids who struggle in the industry and think they’d have struggled no matter what they did.”
On “Mistresses”: “Honestly, after the first few episodes, the title is kind of irrelevant. In the first episode, my character cheats on her husband but the rest of the season is about her dealing with the fallout.”
Here’s a confession — as a pre-teen, I really, really wanted to be Alyssa Milano. That was back when she was dating Corey Haim when he was the next big thing too. Poor Corey met a sad fate, but Alyssa is still going strong. I read somewhere that she still has some of her “Who’s the Boss?” earnings in the bank, which leads me to believe that she’s definitely got her head on straight. Even if her new show doesn’t work out, she’ll be just fine. And this Maxim shoot might be a little bit too shameless to promote a “comeback” role, but it fits the sultry theme of “Mistresses,” I guess. She looks fantastic. What a body.

These are photos of Rihanna wearing a trash-bag miniskirt in Amsterdam where she certainly must have partied hard and, you know, gotten totally Amsterdamned on whatever (soft) drugs she had at her disposal as permitted by law. I’m not up to speed on Netherlands drug laws though, so don’t get upset at me for that comment. Pulp Fiction, baby.
This story mostly involves a bitchfight between Rihanna, who is the subject of a new Daily Mail column, and the author of said column, Liz Jones. Now Liz is an utter mess who somehow makes 90% of her pieces about herself even though her column generally appears in the Showbiz section of the Mail’s website. One particularly priceless story by Liz details her own financials, which culminate in her admission that she’s run up 150,000 in credit card debt because she’s somehow “worth it” and cannot stop spending because she uses money “to fill a hole in my soul.” Her extravagant purchases include a 26,000 bat sanctuary, and she’s completely unaware of how materialistic and self-obsessed she really is. Even when she’s writing about someone else, like say Duchess Kate, the article still ends up really being about Liz Jones.
Now Liz has temporarily run out of self-inspired ideas and started talking about how terrible Rihanna is as a role model. The column critiques Rihanna’s blatant sexuality and adds that RiRi’s fashion sense “invites rape.” Liz goes on to get preachy about Rihanna’s love of marijuana and overall aura: “I wish she’d stop infecting our High Streets with her gun tattoos, her false nails and fake hair, her bogus bad-ass shenanigans.” This is very much the sort of poorly written column that we’re used to from Liz, who is only looking for a reaction from her audience. And of course, she’s received the attention she wanted from Rihanna herself, who has Instagrammed a particularly unflattering photo of Liz with a special message in the caption. This photo of Liz is taken from an article wherein she attempted to live on 65 per week to see what it was like for poor people, and I think it was meant to illustrate what happens when she couldn’t afford her usual grooming products. The pic is followed by Rihanna’s message:

If you sincerely wanna help little girls more than their own parents do, here’s a toxic tip: don’t be amateur with your articles, you sound bitter! I hate to say it, but Rihanna has a point. In fact, I’m totally on board with Rihanna’s chosen manner of living aside from the fact that she ever went back with Chris Brown. I could never live a 24/7 party lifestyle like RiRi, but I support her freedom to do so. I’m not really sure why “sad sloppy menopausal mess” had to be brought into Rihanna’s retort, but I guess she’s writing just as classily as Liz Jones at this point. Rihanna’s absolutely correct in that she’s never held herself out as a role model, so no one should expect her to act like one. Liz Jones needs to go back to gazing lovingly into the mirror at herself and stop pretending to worry about Rihanna.

You can read the online story here ? most of it is recapping the situation thus far, with Paula getting fired from the Food Network and Smithfield, and talking about Paula?s (awful) crisis management thus far. Apparently, Paula was trying to go radio-silent with the controversy because she is ?beyond devastated?She isn’t upset about the loss of money. She’s really upset about her reputation. She has been speaking to her friends to make sure they’re okay. She would die if she lost people who she really loves over this.” The whole thing is being blamed ? sort of? ? on Paula?s ?inappropriate sense of humor? but sources say ?Paula is trying to figure out what is next for herself.”

Scarlett Johansson covers the premiere issue of Vanity Fair France. Can you believe that France never had their own edition of Vanity Fair all this time? Weird. Anyway, I don?t think much of the photoshoot ? ScarJo looks pretty boring and I usually think she?s overrated as a model. I?m assuming they were aiming for a ?Young Catherine Deneuve? vibe, but I think we Americans need to acknowledge that we?re never going to produce an American woman who can pull off the Deneuve vibe.
Michel Denisot, the new editorial director of Vanity Fair France, said ScarJo ?has every quality imaginable ? the elegance, beauty, wit and impertinence that would make her a perfectly decent Parisian if she decides to move permanently into the apartment she has bought in Paris not far from here.? Wait, what? ScarJo bought an apartment in Paris?! That must be because she?s dating that Frenchman, Romain Dauriac. I bet she keeps the apartment longer than she keeps the boyfriend, amirite?
By the way, I think many French people might find Scarlett a bit impertinent and self-absorbed these days, considering she recently filed a lawsuit against a French author and publisher for using her name in association with a character in a fictional book. The author doesn?t call the character Scarlett Johansson, the character is merely described as looking a lot like ScarJo:
Scarlett Johansson is seeking to avenge the unauthorized use of her name in a French novel in a suit filed against publisher JC Lattes. She?s seeking compensation and damages from the ?breach and fraudulent use of personal rights,? as well as a ban on ?future transfer of rights and adaptations of the book.?
In the novel The First Thing We Look At, a woman shows up at the door of a mechanic in the northern village of Somme seeking help. At first the mechanic believes she is ?Scarlett Johansson,? though sixty pages later it is revealed she is not the actress but simply a doppelganger named Jeanine Foucaprez.
Author Gregoire Delacourt told newspaper Le Figaro that he was ?stunned? when he was informed of the suit Friday morning, and also noted that he compared the main male character to Ryan Gosling and his boss to Gene Hackman in the book as an almost immediate way to invoke recognition of characteristics for readers.
?This corresponds with the fantasies of our times. All these famous people live with us,? he said, noting that many personal details of Johansson?s love life have been revealed on the Internet and the public feels as if it knows her. ?But I wrote a book of fiction. My character is not Scarlett Johansson, it is Jeanine Foucaprez!?
He describes the novel as an exploration of the ?dictatorship of appearances and the true beauty of women,? and says he chose Johansson, currently the face of Dolce & Gabbana and previously Louis Vuitton, because she is considered the ?epitome of beauty today.?
The First Thing We Look At has been a best-seller in France since its release on March 20.

If the fictional character was more broadly associated with ScarJo the celebrity, and if the character was actually a derogatory depiction (like, if the character was a child molester or something), I would have some sympathy for Scarlett in this situation. But as it is? not so much. She?s a public figure and this is fair use. I think if the lawsuit was filed in America, it would be thrown out completely, but I don?t know how the French courts deal with this kind of nuisance lawsuit.

Teen Vogue describes Emma as the most normal person in Hollywood right now having never been arrested, kicked off a movie set or had a melt down on Twitter.
“I think, in a way, I was very protected during Harry Potter, because I was working all the time,” Emma muses, taking a sip of tea. It wasn’t until she enrolled at Brown University, in 2009, that she began to grasp the enormity of her renown. “It sounds stupid,” she admits, “or completely unbelievable, but that was when I really realized that I was famous. There are still days when I deal with it horribly and there are days when I deal with it really well.” She felt as though everything had been “turned upside down.”
