Im sorry for making the title so clickbaity but I honestly cant fit the entire story in our format. Lauren Cohan was a guest on Busy Tonight last week. Shes promoting her role on ABCs Whiskey Cavalier with Scott Foley. Lauren described it as a spy show thats like Mission Impossible meets Cheers. The second episode just aired, it?s doing well in the ratings and will probably be a hit. On Busys show, Lauren gave some anecdotes about fan encounters. She said that the most common scenario is that people tell her she looks like Lauren Cohan and then refuse to believe her when she tells them shes actually her. She also told the story that I mentioned in the title and it was kind of creepy actually.
I have a recurring type of encounter when people dont think its actually me. The waitress [at a restaurant] said you look just like Lauren Cohan. I was like I am. Shes like no, no, no. I [asked my friend] to tell her. She kind of begrudgingly believed me. At an Urban Outfitters [the same thing happened].
Im too terrified to watching The Walking Dead. Do you ever hear that?
I heard it at an airport. The person said I stopped watching the show. I used to love it and then I saw a real dead body. I was walking in the woods alone. I just want you to tell the creators that they do a really good job of making [the walkers] look dead.
We were like Oh no, Im so sorry. It was the most chilling [thing].

That sounds too random to be made up. Its possible Lauren invented it but if you ran into a actor from Walking Dead thats not the first fake story you would come up with. Its so rare to see dead bodies out in nature and if you didnt find it traumatizing to recount that?s the type of story you would tell everyone for the rest of your life. Nothing that interesting has ever happened to me so I would probably tell that damn story all the time. I can also see how that experience would sour you on a lot of different shows and movies. I stopped watching Walking Dead because I got mad at the stupid plot twists with my favorite characters dying, but its not like I would say that to an actor from the show. It?s not their fault their bosses are making bad decisions and they feel it more than we do. She was smart to get another gig.

Spoilers for season three and season five of The Walking Dead, which aired in 2012, 2015
We all have those sh*tty days at work where we’re like “this sucks I can’t take it anymore,” but apparently working on a depressing gory TV show can really test an actor’s resolve. Lauren Cohan (Maggie), 34, told a story during an upcoming appearance on Inside The Actor’s Studio about a scene from The Walking Dead that made her want to quit. In a scene from season three of the show, Maggie cuts into pregnant Lori’s stomach to save her baby, this was at Lori’s insistence while they’re trapped in a boiler room as zombies overrun the prison. Lori ends up hemorrhaging to death, but baby Judith survives. After Lauren read that scene she was so emotional that she ran to go see Steven Yeun, who plays her husband, and told him she didn’t think she could do it. Lauren explained that all the actors live in the same apartment building so it was easy to go get support from Steven when she needed it.
?I knock on Steven?s door, and I said, ?I have to leave the show. I don?t think I can do it,?? recalled Cohan, who explained she and her castmates all live in the same apartment building. ?It affects you so deeply to the core to touch on ? to dive into so much of this material.
?And then I realized that?s why I have to do it because the outcome of that, as heinous and as [much] as that affected me? we watch to feel and to hopefully, honestly portray something. And bad stuff happens, and what?s the point in not getting real about it? Ironically enough as hard as this is, the deeper you go into it?

As preparation for this story, I re-read the details of how Lori died after Maggie did a DIY c-section and it made me sick to my stomach and so sad for Carl for having to witness his mom’s death. (US Weekly has that clip from the show if you’d like to see the video.) I mean I saw it when it originally aired but I can’t imagine having to film something like that. As a viewer I try to tune some of those really violent and especially sad scenes out, and to rationalize the deaths like “oh this character’s death was foreshadowed, they needed to take them out for this reason” (with the exception of Tyreese, that made me so mad). It must be rough having to act out the death of a co-worker.
I know Cohan is the one having the breakout career (sort of, if you count her creepy doll movie) but I would love to see more interviews with the other actresses from The Walking Dead, particularly Danai Gurira (Michonne) and Melissa McBride (Carol).
Oh and The Walking Dead returns on February 14! Screw Valentines Day, this is what I’m doing that night.

The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan (Maggie) covers Shape’s January/February issue. It’s nice to see an actress from Walking Dead on a magazine cover, and Cohan is getting more publicity than her costars because she has that creepy horror movie, The Boy, coming out early January. Cohan plays an English nanny to a doll, basically, and is asked to treat the doll as if it’s a real child. It looks like a terrible film but sometimes horror movies do well at the box office.
In the accompanying interview, Cohan comes across as a little manic and goofy, which is not the impression I’ve had of her from the couple times I’ve seen her on Talking Dead. She seems fun but not annoying at all in person. It’s Shape so Cohan is showing off her hard earned figure and talking about her exercise schedule. She has her hair long in the photos, but recently cut it into a cute pixie cut, so we can assume the photoshoot and interview are a few weeks old. Shape also has a quick video interview with Cohan with scenes from her shoot.
On her get-moving strategy:
?I am the queen of exercise variety. This week I was in L.A. and I took a Pure Barre class, went to Burn 60 [an internal workout class] twice, ran the track at UCLA, made it to the gym, and took a yoga class. I also really love to dance. I dance through workouts that aren?t even about dancing! At home, all my furniture is pushed to the edges of my living room so that I can dance around the room. Working out is harder when we?re on set. We film in Georgia, and I can?t go to classes. So I do exercise DVDs that have a lot of leg lifts, kicks, arm lifts ? things that don?t need equipment. And I move all the time. I take the stairs, I do press-ups between scenes, and I do sit-ups before lunch.?
On fighting body shamers:
?I was very skinny as a kid, but when I was swimming and playing field hockey and just having fun, I never worried about how I looked. In my teens, though, I started to be more aware of my body, and I didn?t like being skinny. People made fun of me for it. So when I got to college, I ate a lot of junk and gained weight. I loved it because I didn?t stand out as a bony girl anymore! Eating became a way of not getting attention for looking too skinny, but it was also self-sabotage. In the last few years, I?ve gotten back on track with exercising for fun and eating right, and now I?m in a happy place with myself.?
On letting loose:
?I?m very silly. At four o?clock on the dot every single day, I have the most hyperactive hour of my life. I go into 7-year-old-child mode and everything is funny to me. I have seven different voices that I do, and I?ll fly around the set like a bee and talk in my little voices.?
On never dining solo:
?I once read a book that said eating with friends is good for your brain and your digestion. So if I?m by myself, I facetime a family member or a friend for company when I?m eating.?
On being impulsive:
?Sometimes I?ll go to the airport without a plan. I love to just take trips on the same day, spur of the moment.?

In the full interview, Cohan says that she needs to work out because it “gives me endorphins and makes me happy.” I can definitely relate to that because I start to feel bad if I can’t get a workout in for more than a day. I have been working out at home to the Just Dance XBox games so I have a big space in front of my TV to dance too. I have to follow the moves exactly with a DVD or game though, I’m not one to improvise like Cohan.

After feeling too thin as a teen, it sounds like Cohan found a nice balance exercising and eating well and it really shows. She looks incredible. I wonder if Cohan is going to gain weight when her character, Maggie, starts showing in her pregnancy. Probably not, since food isn’t very plentiful during the zombie apocalypse. Honestly I do not remember how that turned out for Maggie in the comics. It’s possible I haven’t read that far, but it might not matter as producers could change that story arc anyway.

The constant pressure of being on camera is enough to make most ladies freak out, however Lauren Cohan would rather just hit the gym instead.
In her January/February 2016 Shape cover story, the ?Walking Dead? dame flaunts her flawless physique and explains how fitness is an integral part of her daily life- ?When I don?t exercise in the morning, it?s a completely different day than when I do. Working out gives me endorphins and makes me happy.?
Thankfully, Lauren has also found a healthy way to interact with food after having a tough time in high school- ?Eating became a way of not getting attention for looking skinny, but it was also self-sabotage. In the last few years, I?ve gotten back on track with exercising for fun and eating right, and now I?m in a happy place with myself.?

The lob has been very popular with celebrities this year, but I’m somewhat tired of seeing famous women cut a couple of inches off their ends and/or remove their extensions and act like it’s a big change. It is for them, and I get the attachment to hair as I still have my long security blanket hair, but it still looks like long hair and it still frames their face the same way. So I have higher hair standards for celebrities than I set for myself (I would be freaking out if I cut my hair more than two inches, kudos to Kaiser for getting a lob) and that’s why I consider it brave when celebrities cut their hair into radically different, much shorter cuts.
We recently saw Nashville’s Claire Bowen cut her too-long no doubt extension-filled hair into a very short pixie cut that was incredibly flattering. Bowen did this to highlight the issue of body image and childhood cancer, and she shared a touching story about how she survived nephroblastoma as a little girl.
Now Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead has cut her hair into a gorgeous short pixie cut, as you can see above. Cohan debuted her look at the Z100 Jingle Ball in NY over the weekend. She went from shoulder length hair to this close cropped cut.

As US Weekly points out, many fans are speculating what this means for Cohan’s character, Maggie, who is pregnant on The Walking Dead with Glenn’s baby. Some people assume this means that Maggie is getting killed off this season. Here are some tweets that US posted along with some random ones I found.
