Here are some photos of Angelina Jolie and Zahara out in New York last week. Angelina clearly misses Zahara like crazy, and in Zahara?s first year at Spelman College, Angelina looked for any excuse to fly to Atlanta to see her daughter, and any time Zahara had time off, Angelina arranged for a girls? trip to New York and more. I assume the trip last week was something fun for Zahara after her spring semester ended.
Meanwhile, at the end of 2022, Jolie stepped down from her position of special envoy to the UNHCR. She had worked with the UNHCR (in different positions) for 21 years. Many of us Jolie-stans wondered what she would do next, whether she would work for some smaller refugee organization. Well, we?re getting an answer? sort of. Angelina has announced that she?s starting Atelier Jolie, which is a fashion collective which will employ refugees and hopefully utilize some refugee fashion creatives.
The actress, director, and former United Nations goodwill ambassador and special envoy is launching Atelier Jolie, a new purpose-driven brand that will utilize deadstock and tap into the abilities of ?refugees and other talented, under-appreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.?
Jolie posted the news on her Instagram account, writing, ?I?m starting something new today?a collective where everyone can create Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world. It stems for my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I?ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high quality vintage material and deadstock material already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.?
More than 100 million tons of textile waste dead-end in landfills every year. Atelier Jolie seems designed to address that crisis. According to the brand website: ?You will be able to repair or upcycle pieces from your closet you wish to revive, perfecting fit, breathing new life into what could have been thrown away, and creating quality heirloom garments with personal meaning.?
The mention of refugees is intriguing given the end last week of Title 42, a pandemic-era measure that allowed authorities to quickly turn back migrants on public health grounds. The U.S. could see record numbers of asylum seekers moving forward. Whatever Atelier Jolie becomes, Jolie is particularly well-placed to disrupt in this area.

I wonder if this collective is going to be LA-based or international or what. How are they getting their hands on ?deadstock? and what will the larger organization look like? I don?t doubt Angelina, but it just sounds like a huge project. Perhaps she?s already employing refugee creatives to work out this enormous undertaking. It will be interesting to see? a collective making sack dresses out of deadstock. Please, let some of those refugee stylists get ahold of Angelina and get her to wear some different silhouettes!

Wes Anderson?s latest film, Asteroid City, will be released theatrically in mid-June. The film got its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and if you ask me, Cannes should have made this the opening night film (instead of that Johnny Depp catastrophe). Wes Anderson always has star-studded ensemble casts and this one is no different. The film stars (in no particular order) Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Jason Schwartzman, Steve Carrell, Jeffrey Wright, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis, Maya Hawke, Edward Norton, Margot Robbie, Bryan Cranston, Rupert Friend, Hong Chau, Rita Wilson and like twenty other actors you would recognize. You can see the trailer here (it?s charming, as all of Wes Anderson?s films are).
Here are some photos from the Cannes premiere last night. Scarlett was there with her husband Colin Jost, and a very strange Prada dress. I?m aghast at her styling too bright orange-red lipstick with this pale Pink dress? Ugh. Maya Hawke also wore Prada, and if you ask me, both women?s dresses have severe darting issues. Also: Adrien Brody is still with Georgina Chapman, and she was there at the premiere.
Other notables at the premiere: Julia Garner in a vibrant emerald Gucci and Brie Larson in a feathered Chanel. I?m so disappointed in Brie?s Cannes fashion. When she was appointed to the Cannes jury, she must have just called up Chanel and asked them for whatever they had laying around. That?s what it looks like she?s wearing the dregs which no one else wanted. Julia looks amazing.

Kim Kardashian recently sat down for a podcast interview with On Purpose with Jay Shetty. She talked a lot about her kids and what her home life is like as a single mother. I know everyone climbs up Kim?s ass about everything, but she IS a single mother and she has been one for years. Even when she was married to Kanye, she was a single mom. Kanye was always in Wyoming or ?running for president? or whatever, while she raised the kids in Calabasas. Now that they?re divorced, Kanye has time with the kids, but let?s be real Kim is their primary parent and she?s with them like 90% of the time. Her kids? ages now: North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4. Some highlights from the pod interview:
On parenthood: Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldnt be like a more true statement. So, like, when youre in it, I mean, especially when theyre babies and youre feeding theres madness going on. Its like full madness. Its the best chaos though.
On mornings with four kids: Detailing that you have no idea whats going on in the mornings, Kardashian adds, Its like I always have to do one of my daughters hair ? and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way ? and then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. Its like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, its wild.
A mother?s tears: Parenting is the thing that has taught me the most about myself. It has been the most challenging thing. There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy sh-t, this fing tornado in my house. Like, what just happened? You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes theyre fighting, and you know, theres no one there. Like, its [just] me to play good police officer and bad cop.
Parenting is really ?fing hard.? Thats the only way I can describe it. It is the most rewarding job in the entire world. It is. There is nothing that can prepare you. I dont care how long you wait. I dont care what youre waiting for. You are never prepared. But you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day.
Nights with her kids: We are going hour by hour to see if were gonna survive night by night. If a tantrum comes in, oh my God, your life is completely upside down. But it teaches you so much more about yourself than I think anyone, any parent, could have ever anticipated. I mean, theres nights when you dont wash your hair for days as a mom and you have spit up all over you and youre wearing the same pajamas, especially in COVID. It was insane, you know?

I?m sure people will talk about her nannies, and she does have nannies and I don?t blame her one bit. She has four kids under the age of 10: bring on the nannies. I also remember when Kim used to make motherhood sound pretty easy and like her kids were always so well-behaved. It?s good that she?s now talking about how chaotic everything is and how they have tantrums and all of that. Anyway, I have no doubt that Kim will turn her kids into the next generation of reality stars and influencers, and yet? I think her kids will turn out to be more well-adjusted than most celebrity kids.

Taylor Swift?s 2016 summer is still burned into my mind. The summer of Tiddlebanging, the summer of the Worldwide Tiddles Tour, the summer where Tom Hiddleston wore the ?I Heart TS? t-shirt. Gossip-wise, it was maybe the best summer in the past decade. The Tiddles Tour is the gossip gold-standard, and while I was happy for Taylor when she was with Lowkey Joe Alwyn, I still longed for Taylor to be messy. Well, I got my wish. Taylor and Joe broke up in maybe March or April. It?s more than likely that she had already been fooling around with Matt Healy for months before the split. And now ?Swealy? is trying to give us some Tiddles vibes.
Taylor Swift declared she?s ?never been this happy? amid her new romance with The 1975 singer Matty Healy.
?I kind of feel like telling you, I don?t know, I?ve just never been this happy in my life, in all aspects of my life ever before,? the singer told concertgoers at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., Saturday night, marking the latest stop on her Eras Tour.

Although there was no sign of her new beau at the show, Healy, 34, was seen sneaking into Swift?s New York City apartment a few nights earlier. According to a TikTok video posted by @brandeegaar, the ?Chocolate? hitmaker could be seen running up the stairs and into the main lobby of Swift?s Manhattan building on Thursday, while someone held the door open for him. Healy cut a casual figure for the late-night rendezvous, rocking a dark sweater, jeans and white sneakers while carrying a duffel bag.

I think she is enjoying herself and she?s in love. Now, will it stay that way? I mentioned Tom Hiddleston because that?s what this romance reminds me of, the speed with which they got together, the way they burned brightly and then the flame was extinguished within four months or so. We?ll see!
A source also told The Messenger that Swift and Healy ?have been friends for years and reconnected. They had talked about working on music together years ago, but reunited through mutual friends?.things moved very quickly and she was swept off her feet. They have been inseparable.? Healy has also met Taylor?s family (we knew that already) and he apparently ?fits right in as if they have been dating for years.? Ouch for Joe Alwyn six years together, Taylor practically moving to London to be with him, and Healy is getting the full ?it feels like they?ve been together for years? treatment.

One of my favorite stories I wrote this month was that terrifically stupid post about the live-action Little Mermaid, and how there?s some ?mockery? of the Princess of Wales, aka Kate. Ariel makes a disgusted expression when Prince Eric tries to guess that her name is ?Catherine.? That?s it. That?s the whole ?mockery.? The British media tried to make it sound like it was some kind of huge conspiracy involving the Duchess of Sussex?s many ?Disney connections,? which is weird because I thought the British media believed that Harry and Meghan are deeply unpopular and powerless in LA? Regardless, it looks like The Little Mermaid isn?t the only affront to Keen Kate?s regal jazz hands. There?s also some kind of ?crude and sexual jibe? about Kate in Amazon Prime?s Citadel. You know, the Prime series starring Meghan?s friend Priyanka Chopra.
A big budget thriller starring one of the Duchess of Sussexs best friends makes a crude and sexual jibe about the Princess of Wales. Citadel, which is being screened on streaming giant Amazon Prime, stars Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas who has repeatedly backed Meghan publicly. Ms Chopra Jonas, 41, plays the leading lady, an elite espionage agent Nadia Sinh in the five-part spy action series. And in the third episode, she is involved in a scene with a crime boss named Balduino Basto, portrayed by Sen Monro.
Richard Maddens character Mason Kane goes to see Basto in Morocco under Nadias instructions and she is speaking to him in his ear. Basto is then asked for help to break into the armed forces chiefs office. It prompts him to say: The chief of armed forces? You might as well have asked me how to get between the legs of the Duchess of Cambridge!
Ms Chopra Jonas and the Duchess of Sussex, 41, became friends when they met at an Elle magazine event in 2016 and soon after the Duchess of Sussex interviewed for her blog The Tig, which is no longer in existence. They were also seen at the theatre together on New Yorks Broadway where they were watching musical Hamilton shortly after.
In July 2021, Ms Chopra Jonas appeared to ignore Kate and her husband, Prince William, as they were clapped into the Royal Box at Wimbledon. In a clip which emerged at the time, the Bollywood actress opted to fiddle with her scarf as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their seats to rapturous applause from the crowd ahead of the Womens Singles Final.

*adjusts pie chart* Ah yes, remember when Priyanka made a point of ignoring Kate at Wimbledon, therefore Meghan clearly ordered Priyanka to order Prime to hire anti-Kate writers and look what happened! A very weird joke using a title Kate doesn?t even use anymore. The Mail also says that this happened in Citadel?s third episode? which apparently was released on May 5th. It took the Mail two weeks to watch the episode, is what I?m saying. While I like Priyanka, it?s not like people are watching or talking about Citadel, so she?s got bigger problems than this. And no, this wasn?t a conspiracy, although I bet Priyanka doesn?t give a crap about Kate in general. But Priyanka didn?t write the script! And I don?t even think Priyanka and Meghan are all that close, but whatever. This might be dumber than the Little Mermaid thing.

Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore went to Cannes to premiere their new Todd Haynes film, May December. It?s apparently good? I love Todd Haynes anyway, so I?ll see it. For the big premiere, Portman wore this spectacular and iconic gown from Christian Dior. As in, the original ?Junon? gown was actually designed by Christian Dior. The real dress from 1949 is in Dior?s archives, so they made Portman a beautiful replica with very few edits. It?s gorgeous, and it?s perfect on her, honestly. She also wore a snazzy Dior mini at the photocall.
Jennifer Lawrence is also stuck with Dior, and I guess she still has a contract with them? In any case, she wore this red Dior which? is kind of boring and I wish she could get out of this Dior rut. Obviously, Dior is perfectly capable of doing amazing looks for some people, just not J-Law.
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton, with her husband Michael Fassbender. She?s an LV ambassador and, much like J-Law?s Dior contract, I don?t think LV gives Alicia their best pieces. This is a snooze.
Gigi Hadid in Zac Posen. Some people love Posen?s designs, but I find them overwrought and overworked. This might have looked better in a different color?
Marion Cotillard in Chanel. LOL, this look went viral over the weekend because the people in charge of Chanel really put Marion out there in the South of France in Daisy Dukes and a cardi. Tragique!!

Last summer, the Princess of Wales hired photographer Matt Porteous to Norfolk to take family photos. I don?t know how long Porteous stayed there, but it was long enough to shoot their summery, denim-clad Christmas card, their anniversary photo and several of the kids? birthday photos. Kensington Palace has been parceling out those photos for the past year. And here?s another one from the 2022 Porteous Photoshoot, one would assume: Kate in her beekeeper?s outfit, playing with bees in Sandringham. Queen Bee Kate loves bees, don?t you know.
Kate Middleton is giving royal fans something to buzz about! The Princess of Wales, 41, skillfully handles bees in a new picture released by her office on Saturday.
The photo, which was taken by one of Princess Kate and husband Prince Williams favorite photographers, Matt Porteous, last summer, highlights World Bee Day and the royals own contribution to creating conditions for the insects to thrive.
The image was also shared on The Prince and Princess of Wales official Instagram account, with a caption that began, We are buzzing about #WorldBeeDay .
Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and today is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy, the caption concluded.

In June 2021, Kate debuted the ?keen beekeeper? persona and it?s been a while since she dusted it off. That 2021 incident was when she visited the Natural History Museum and she brought ?her? honey, the honey she jars from her Norfolk beehive. I wondered at the time if Kate was just taking credit for the larger beekeeping projects at various royal properties. King Charles is bee-obsessed and the Sandringham Estate sells its own branded honey, from the beehives on the estate. So? is Kate in charge of the Sandringham beehives or does she just have some of her own personal-use beehives in Norfolk? We still don?t know! I had an instinctive dislike towards Olivia Wilde when I first learned about her ten years ago. I couldn?t figure out why. I wanted to root for her. But the more we?ve learned about her in recent years, the more I feel that my dislike was justified. Last year the drama around Don?t Worry Darling eclipsed the film itself and likely contributed to her breakup with Harry Styles. The drama was mostly created by Olivia herself and her willingness to throw Florence Pugh under the bus for her own unprofessional behavior. It was a spectacular act of self-sabotage. So when I saw the story that she wore white to a friend?s wedding, I immediately thought, yeah, that tracks. It turns out it was for a wedding of two grooms, so there wasn?t a bride, but still, it?s tacky:

The Booksmart director cheekily broke two style rules to celebrate friend Jordan C. Brown and Colton Underwoods nuptials on May 13 in Napa Valley, Calif. While attending the couples romantic ceremony, Olivia not only wore white?traditionally, a huge no-no?but she also donned an actual bridal gown.
Wore a wedding dress to a wedding, she captioned her Instagram Stories on May 14, just so I could make a joke about it in my toast.
And for extra clarity, the Dont Worry Darling director explained that her outfit wasnt exactly a fashion faux pas. The grooms approved, she confirmed in a separate post, alongside a photo of her hugging and smiling with the newlyweds.

This is peak ?pick me? behavior. Wearing a wedding dress to a wedding that?s not your own, even if there won?t be a bride wearing a white dress, is just attention-seeking. Let the grooms have their moment in the spotlight, it?s their day. It?s not about you, Olivia. Good Lord. When I fantasize about getting married (to my imaginary boyfriend, Adam Driver, who is sadly unavailable), I actually don?t see myself in white. For a long time I?ve wanted to get married in a soft seashell pink. It works better with my coloring. But if I saw someone else wear white to MY wedding I would have them thrown out. Because the visual language of weddings is so entrenched in our culture that anyone wearing white would immediately pull focus. And Olivia knows that. She can?t just be classy and wear a tasteful sage green or midnight blue?! It?s embarrassing.
What?s ironic is that the wedding dress she wore is super basic. From the pictures it looks like a backless, bias-cut gown in white satin that?s somewhat shapeless aside from seam detailing on the skirt portion. If you?re going to be tacky and break a taboo, then at least go full Scarlett O?Hara and pick something fabulous and jaw-dropping. If the dress were interesting I could at least respect it from a style perspective. But it?s a nothingburger of a dress.
Does anyone else think she maybe bought this ?wedding dress? when she was still shacked up with Harry Styles and envisioning their life together across the pond? If she was ready to move to London, she was probably thinking about their eventual wedding day, right? I can just see the terror in Harry?s eyes as he discovers the garment bag in the closet. I?ll bet you anything the wedding menu would have featured her famous salad dressing.

Selena Gomez has had a cooking show, Selena + Chef, on HBO Max for four seasons. Each episode featured Selena learning how to cook from a different professional chef. It was really enjoyable and Selena is quite endearing. Its unclear what the fate of that show will be now that HBO is becoming Max and seemingly reshuffling everything, but it seems she has parlayed that random show into more cooking show gigs. Selena will be hosting two new shows on the Food Network later this year and early next.
On May 17, Food Network announced two new projects set to be hosted by the ?Only Murders in the Building? star. The news was shared during the Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts and marks Gomez?s first foray into the Food Network universe.
The first Gomez-helmed culinary program will debut on the channel in late 2023 and is described as a ?celebration-focused series? that will come just in time for the holiday season. (And we know how much Food Network loves the holidays.)
?The holidays are always huge for Food Network,? said Kathleen Finch, chairman and chief content officer of U.S. networks for Warner Bros. Discovery. ?Having Selena kicking off the nearly 100 hours of new and returning holiday programming will certainly make this coming season one to celebrate.?
Then, in 2024, Gomez will also start working on another new series that will feature the actor, singer and host meeting up with ?some of the best chefs in the country? in a quest to cook their most popular dishes during visits to their kitchens.
Gomez makes the move to Food Network fresh off her Emmy-nominated HBO Max series, ?Selena + Chef.? First conceived during the pandemic, Gomez was joined remotely by well-regarded chefs to school her on signature dishes to see if they could ?make a meal together, apart,? according to the star.
Welcoming food icons like Padma Lakshmi, Roy Choi and Gordon Ramsay, Gomez proved to be a heartwarming and relatable host. Over four seasons, she fielded calls from ?cute? boys, was flustered by culinary techniques like we all have been at times, and other funny moments.
The series became a hit, premiering its fourth Malibu-filmed season in August 2022. Both Food Network and HBO Max are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The pair of new Gomez projects will be produced by July Moon Productions and the Intellectual Property Corporation.

Ah, so Warner Bros. Discovery owning both networks might answer that question about a fifth season of Selena + Chef. Theyre being quite vague about the celebration series for later this year, but Food Network does well with the holiday themes. I wonder if it will be something New York-based, maybe a little tie-in with Only Murders since thats such a cozy fall show and New York City around Christmas time is also super festive and nice. The 2024 series is more straightforward and just seems to be turning the concept of Selena + Chef on its head. Instead of being in her kitchen, shes going to the kitchens of professional chefs to learn their signature dishes. I wonder if there will be any repeat guests from Selena + Chef. Anyway, both these shows sound good. Selena continues to make good career decisions and is expanding her profile.

This story came out last week but I just saw it, so I apologize for my tardiness. Jennifer Lopez appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark to discuss her large, blended family. Although Jen and husband Ben Affleck are enjoying a big, happy family vibe, the fact is, when they united their two fronts, they ended up with a whole house full of teenagers. Of all of the things you want doubled when you merge households, teens are likely not your first choice. Jen told Kelly and Mark that it was kind of a shock to go from babies, who tend to listen to their parents, to these pre-teens and teens who ?start challenging you.? I imagine if you multiple that by five, yeah, that would be tough.

During a new guest appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, the ?Let?s Get Loud? singer opened up about her and her husband?s blended family. Between them, the couple share five children in total, four of whom are teenagers.
?That?s almost five teenagers. The youngest is 11, so he?s not quite [a teen], but preteen,? Lopez told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. ?He?s an angel.?
She added, ?The teenage years are tough. They start challenging you and everything. You have this baby for a while and then it?s like your best little friend who loves being with you all the time, and all of a sudden they?re like, ?Get out of my room.??
Consuelos?who shares three children with Ripa?offered a few words of comfort to the multi-hyphenate: ?But, you know they come back when they?re in their 20s.?
?Twenties?!? Lopez replied. ?Jesus Christ! I?m so depressed.?
?It?s crazy, I feel like I had them yesterday. They were just babies a little while ago,? Lopez continued. ?It?s the time when they are individuating and they are challenging everything you say and everything you do and everything you are. And that?s what it is. And you have to kind of just ride the waves. I feel like it?s like surfing. I?m just riding the waves?whoops, just got knocked over. Now, I?m back! I?m back!?
She also described the struggles of being a mother of teenagers.
?I think it?s particularly hard on moms a little bit. Because they always kind of love Dad,? she said. ?They are always kind of like, ?Dad?s the best.? And I was like that with my dad too. Jen and Ben?s problem is numbers. Once they got five, it became mob rule. I?m kidding. Five teens sounds overwhelming to me and so far, teenagerdom is my favorite phase. Maybe because mine challenged me from the start, the little brats. No! Again, I?m kidding kind of. I don?t know how to communicate with younger kids. I tend to approach things through discussion and four-year-olds don?t really have many counter arguments I can relate to. So once my kids brought their own viewpoints into the picture, our relationship took on a larger dimension. It?s just different for everyone, I think. But again, I have two and there are two adults. We?re not outnumbered.
I love Jen likening raising kids to surfing and getting knocked over by the waves of challenges. It?s an apt description. I also
