Look at this! Angelina Jolie is the new face of Tom Ford Beauty, specifically representing their lipstick line. Angelina has done high-profile ad campaigns before, and she?s currently the face of Guerlain perfume (and she?s godmother to Guerlain?s Women for Bees program). I?ve always wondered if Angelina has gotten significant beauty-contract offers for years and she?s turned them down for various reasons. But this year, she?s got an Oscar-bait movie (Maria) and she probably wanted the money from a lucrative beauty contract, so here we are. WWD had the exclusive and I found the business side of this fascinating:
It?s full steam ahead for makeup at Tom Ford Beauty, starting with a renewed focus on lip and a top-tier spokesperson. Angelina Jolie, the brand?s first-ever celebrity face for beauty, will front Runway Lip Color, which rolls out globally in full distribution in September with 18 shades ? 10 existing, eight new. It replaces the existing Lip Color lipsticks franchise. The refresh also entails Runway Lip Pencils, available in eight shades. Prices range from $46 for the pencils to $62 for the lipsticks.
The push comes at a pivotal time for the business. An SEC filing from parent company the Este Lauder Cos., which acquired Tom Ford for $2.3 billion in 2023, noted that in the fiscal year 2024, ?net sales [for makeup] from Tom Ford decreased, primarily driven by lower net sales from the lip subcategory.?
The health of the business depends on getting lip back on track. It is among the largest categories of the business overall after fragrance, and the largest of Tom Ford?s makeup offering, said Guillaume Jesel, the brand?s president and chief executive officer, who assumed the top slot last year after nearly a decade working on the brand.
Ford departed the company last year, and was succeeded by Peter Hawkings as the helm of its creative leadership. Hawkings announced his departure last month. Jesel declined to comment on the search for new creative talent, but did say, ?together with the creative director and the licensees, we have to uphold [Ford?s] vision.?
Jesel?s mandate is ?to continue to run Tom Ford as a united brand across verticals and unify the strategy, the brand codes, the innovation across fashion, beauty and eyewear,? he said. ?We need to attract world-class talent, and that means in the creative product development and marketing.?
To that end, Jolie?s campaign, lensed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, echoes Ford?s own work as an auteur. ?In terms of the celebrity aspect, the connection of film is something that?s been there naturally. Tom is a filmmaker and he shot a lot of his own photography,? said Jesel. ?The connection to film and the cinematic aspect of the visual imagery that he created for this brand set it aside from anyone else and has been integral to our DNA.?
In the visuals, Jolie sports hero shade Scarlet Rouge. ?It?s a beautiful color and texture,? Jolie said via email. ?A good red lip needs little else. It?s worn with intention. That was part of the discussion.?
Her appeal mimics the wide net Jesel is casting with the relaunch. ?She appeals to a broad demographic, and she has global appeal. We are branded very internationally, and are well diversified around the world. And her appeal to Gen Z is very interesting,? he said.
In September, stills of the campaign will roll out, followed by a film in October. ?Lip is a category that is used in public, and when we talk about makeup, we talk about the power of transformation for makeup and finding a different persona in yourself,? Jesel said.

Basically, the Tom Ford brand needed a huge star to reboot their Beauty line and Angelina is a global star who tested well across several demographics. ?Her appeal to Gen Z is very interesting? I?ve noticed that too. Younger people who didn?t grow up in the Brangaloonie Wars see Angelina as a cool person and a ?mother.? It probably helps that she?s actually a mother to several Gen Z kids. Also: once you see it together, you?re like, oh, right, Angelina has some of the most famous lips in the world, how has she never done a lipstick campaign before now? I?m looking forward to the ?film? too I wonder where they filmed it. For some of her Guerlain campaigns, she got them to film at her home in Cambodia. I wonder if this campaign is more LA/Hollywood/vamp.

Wolfs is the Jon Watts film starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt. It will soon premiere at the Venice Film Festival and Clooney and Pitt will go all-out at the Venice premiere. Pitt might even walk his first red carpet with Inez de Ramon. All eyes will be on Venice because not only will Wolfs premiere there, but Angelina Jolie?s Oscar-bait film Maria is also scheduled to premiere, and Angelina will likely show up too. So, that was supposed to be the buzz/controversy. The problem? Wolfs was produced by AppleTV+ and the initial plan was to give Wolfs a full theatrical release before putting it on streaming. That plan changed this month, and now Wolfs is only getting a limited theatrical release for just ONE WEEK before it?s put on steaming. LMAO. I mean, I was going to skip it too (mute challenge both Clooney and Pitt) but this is too rich.
Three years ago, Hollywood started buzzing about an untitled movie project getting shopped around town, written and directed by Jon Watts and set to star George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Every studio in town was reportedly bidding on the film, and eventually, when Apple secured the distribution rights, a priority in the plan was made clear: a ?robust theatrical release,? as Deadline put it. That was woven into the deal between the filmmakers and the studio, with Sony Pictures later attached to handle theatrical distribution. Just last year, Clooney said, ?Brad and I made the deal to do that movie where we gave money back to make sure that we had a theatrical release.? And when the film, later titled Wolfs, was announced to make its world premiere at this year?s Venice Film Festival, everything seemed to have fallen into place along those lines.
Plans, however, can change fast in Hollywood. Earlier this month, Apple announced that Wolfs? wide theatrical release had been canceled, with plans instead to put it out on a handful of big screens for just a week before streaming it on Apple TV+ starting September 27. Across the Atlantic, plans for theater runs were scrapped entirely. This wasn?t for lack of faith in the movie, exactly, as the studio confirmed plans to make a sequel in the same breath.
Speaking with Vanity Fair in the aftermath of the pivot, Watts says in no uncertain terms that he made this movie for the big screen?and that?s evident in the final product. Watts is careful with his words as to his own feelings around the current release situation, but confirms he found out about the change only days before the rest of the world did. He also makes clear where his priorities are. ?What it really takes is for the people that pay for the movies to back theatrical distribution,? he says. ?It?s not up to the filmmakers. Filmmakers have been making great movies.?
?When we initially made the deal, when I was pitching it to everyone, that was before the last Spider-Man came out. So that was when the entire existential future of theatrical movie going was still up in the air. From that point on, the theatrical experience has really made an impression on me, of how valuable this thing is and how important it is. I always thought of this as a theatrical movie. We made it to be seen in theaters, and I think that?s the best way to see it. It?s funny. It?s filled with twists and turns. I tried to do some interesting things visually and I still think that the best way to see it is in theaters.?

Granted, a lot of films, actors and filmmakers are getting screwed over by last-minute decisions to bury a film or not give a film a theatrical release. This is not some outlier situation these days in Hollywood. But it?s still brutal and it?s still funny. Brad and George thought they were promoting a buddy-comedy/action movie which would give them both a much-needed hit. Instead, their big reunion project has been shuffled off to streaming at the last minute. George is too old, he should step down from Hollywood, he doesn?t have the juice anymore. Brad?s been juiceless since he terrorized and abused his family in 2016.

Well, Jennifer Lopez?s fourth marriage is done. People give her a lot of grief about her marriages and divorces, but she?s 55 years old? It?s not like she?s been married back-to-back four times and she?s only 30 years old or something. At least she?s spread them out. The biggest break between marriages was post-Marc Anthony. She needed to heal, she needed to get right and get her career back. She dated that backup dancer for years, then she was engaged to Alex Rodriquez, and then Ben stole her away from A-Rod. Who is next? I have no idea, but I suspect that there will be another one. Maybe not a husband, but definitely a boyfriend. Still, right now, Jennifer is mourning. Sources close to Jennifer previously told People Mag that ?she?s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn?t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage. He hasn?t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It?s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.? Here?s a follow-up:

I think she is heartbroken, completely. Watching her stupid This Is Me? Now musical and The Greatest Love Story Never Told documentary, you could see that she genuinely believed that this was it, that this was her last marriage, that Ben was The One. In her mind, she was celebrating the idea that their love was real and they found their way back to each other. Everything fell apart as she was making those projects, I absolutely believe that.
People Mag also confirms that Jennifer began looking for her own separate house in LA in April. She listed April 26th as their separation date, so there was some kind of falling out or fight or something that month.

The honeymoon was over just as it started ?Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez?s relationship issues began on their honeymoon in Lake Como, Italy, a source familiar with the situation tells Page Six. The couple?s honeymoon included numerous public outings packed with PDA and shopping ? and, yes, there were of course cameras capturing it all.
?He was unhappy with paparazzi following them. She is an international superstar, and he acted like it came as a surprise that they would be followed around,? the source said. When they weren?t in front of the cameras, ?They would barely speak to each other during what was supposed to be the happiest time of their life. He sold her on him being a changed man, and that lasted a very short time,? our source claimed.
Another insider told us Affleck finally came to his senses about their renewed puppy love, once his sobriety ?started to settle in with normality.?
When they started seeing each other again, ?He was just getting sober ? He was in a vulnerable state, and whatever their chemistry played into that ? He was in this frenzied, excitable state,? the insider said. Affleck has been open about his struggles with alcohol in the past. He?d reportedly last returned to rehab in 2018.
The whirlwind romance soon wore off once he adjusted to his sober life. Affleck started craving more privacy, and he could no longer take Lopez?s level of celebrity, according to the insider. ?He doesn?t want [the entourage] and all the drama that comes with that in his home,? the source said.

I felt like Page Six was talking out of their ass so I actually looked back into the 2022 archives. I had no memory of a ?honeymoon in Como.? What happened is that after the Las Vegas wedding, Ben and J.Lo took their kids to Paris and they had a family vacation/honeymoon in France in July 2022. Then Bennifer had their second wedding in Georgia in August 2022, and after that, Ben and Jen went on a no-kids honeymoon in Como. They got pap?d constantly on the Paris trip (the photos were amazing, honestly), but the Como honeymoon was relatively low-key. There were some long-lens pap photos when they went out to dinner, but beyond that, we actually didn?t see much of them?
All of which to say, I think J.Lo?s fame was a factor, just as I think Ben?s sobriety was a factor. But their marriage failed for a variety of reasons, reasons which were compounded when Ben basically decided he was over it and he stopped trying.

In some ways, I?m glad that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck didn?t ?rush? into filing for divorce. They were very clearly separated for the past four months or so, although I think Jennifer?s moves show that she still believed that reconciliation was a possibility. But it was clear back in February that Ben had checked out of the marriage. His side has been clearly briefing about it for months, as has J.Lo?s side. Ben?s side is basically: when he?s done, he?s done, and he?s been done all year; he wants to focus on himself; he thinks this was all an expensive exercise in closure. Jennifer?s side is that she really tried and she hoped that they could make it work but Ben shut down. I also think it?s notable that she filed for divorce. He basically forced her to do it because he was so disengaged from her and their relationship/marriage. Sound familiar? He did the same thing when they broke up the first time, in 2003-04.

In the summer of 2022, J.Lo and Ben first ?eloped? in Las Vegas in July, then they had a second wedding at Ben?s estate in Georgia on August 20, 2022. Two years later, Jennifer pulled the plug after waiting until Ben and Jennifer Garner moved Violet into her freshman dorm at Yale, which happened last weekend.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are calling it quits ? again. On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, more than two years after the couple married in July 2022, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE. TMZ first reported the news.
Lopez filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024 as the date of separation. She filed for divorce herself without using a lawyer and is technically self-represented. Although they married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022, Aug. 20 marked the second anniversary of the traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia.
The singer did not say if there was a prenuptial agreement, and sources told TMZ there is none.

Yeah, TMZ?s reporting says there?s no prenup and J.Lo filed pro per (without a lawyer). She listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024. Which checks out in February, Jennifer did the big rollout for her album (This Is Me? Now), plus the musical film and documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. Ben supported her through that promotional blitz but you could tell that he was checked out of the marriage, especially given that the documentary revealed that J.Lo shared all of Ben?s love letters to her friends, music producers and songwriters. By May of this year, that?s when In Touch Weekly was the first to report that Jennifer and Ben had separated. Looks like that report was right on the money. Sigh? I wish this had turned out differently. I?m sad about this.

While there were photos of Jennifer Garner stopping by his house on his birthday, many of us believed that his current wife, Jennifer Lopez, avoided her Leo husband on his birthday (the same way he avoided her on her birthday). But no, it turns out that J.Lo did stop by his house for a small family birthday party:
Ben Affleck celebrated his birthday exactly how he wanted. A source tells PEOPLE the actor marked his 52nd birthday on Thursday, Aug. 15 with a small birthday celebration at home with his kids.
Its exactly what he wanted. He didnt want to go out to celebrate. The kids had gifts for him, and it was cute, says the source. Jennifer [Lopez] stopped by to congratulate him.
Affleck is a parent to kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who was spotted visiting the actors rental home in Brentwood, Calif., earlier in the day, according to photos obtained by Page Six. Lopez, 55, was spotted departing Afflecks rental home hours after Garners visit in photos obtained by The Daily Mail.
The kids were with Ben for most of the day. He didnt leave the house at all for his birthday, the insider says.

Personally, I don?t think it?s some big deal that J.Lo was not invited to Violet?s move-in at Yale. They wanted to keep it for the immediate family, and it doesn?t look like Garner invited her partner/boyfriend either. I also think that Ben is trying to tell people that he hasn?t been focused on his marriage drama in recent months because he was more focused on his oldest leaving home. Now that Violet is off to college, will Ben file for divorce? Hm.
Also: Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk were also in New Haven over the weekend, because Brad?s son Brody is also a Yale freshman. So in this case, the freshman?s stepmother was invited to his move-in? Apparently. Gwyneth?s son Moses will be a freshman at Brown this year too I guess Brown?s move-in day/week is after Yale?s?

A few weeks ago, Halle Berry filed an emergency motion in family court. The motion was complicated since Halle and Olivier Martinez got a divorce, they?re both supposed to undergo coparenting coaching sessions to help them raise their son Maceo. Olivier was skipping his sessions because he wanted to take the summer off and travel back to France for a time. Halle seemingly took advantage of Olivier being out of town to file that ?emergency motion,? and the family court was like? this is not an emergency. But Halle is going to do her thing, and I knew something bigger was coming. Here we go? Halle has now filed for sole custody of Maceo.
Halle Berry is seeking sole custody of her son, Maceo, claiming that his father, Oliver Martinez, refuses to co-parent or communicate in a child-centered way.
Weeks after The Union actress, 58, alleged that her ex-husband, also 58, failed to continue seeing a co-parenting coach ? and after a source told PEOPLE that co-parenting hasnt been easy for the former spouses ? Berry filed a request for sole legal custody of their 10-year-old son on Friday, Aug. 16. Per legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, Berry is requesting custody, ?or in the alternative, tie-breaking authority to make all decisions? about his education, health and therapy needs.
The documents, filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, arrive a year after they finalized their divorce, nearly eight years after their 2015 split. At the time, they agreed to share joint legal custody of their son, with Berry paying Martinez $8,000 a month in child support and an additional 4.3% of any income she receives above $2,000,000.
In the latest filing, Berry claims shes made an effort to address her sons educational challenges and additional behavioral concerns as she fought for tutoring, an educational assessment and finding an environment that was suitable to Maceo?s needs. The filing alleges that Martinez, however, has been oppositional, unmoving and withheld his consent for years.
Because of Respondent?s opposition to any interventions whatsoever for years and because of Respondent?s prioritizing soccer activities over Maceo?s educational and psychological well-being, Maceo?s educational and behavioral challenges worsened, and he continued to fall further behind in school, the document alleges. Specifically, Berry claims that Maceo would act out toward her following longer periods of custody with his father and that her son would repeat disputes that the former couple had in private. She alleges that Martinez claimed the boy was old enough to make his own decisions.
A lawyer for Martinez told PEOPLE that he will be responding to these allegations in the coming weeks. A representative and a lawyer for Berry did not respond to PEOPLEs requests for comment.

It sounds like Maceo has some special needs and instead of Olivier and Halle coming to an agreement about their son?s education and priorities, Olivier is the devil-may-care father who lets Maceo do whatever he wants while Halle has to play bad cop. I mean, this is Halle?s narrative. I wonder what Olivier?s narrative will be. To think that they managed to keep it together long enough to complete their divorce over the course of eight years, only for Halle to challenge the custody agreement one year after their divorce was finalized.

What does this Blake Lively stuff remind you of? For me, it?s sort of like the Hilaria Baldwin stuff in late 2020 and early 2021 suddenly, people were going back through all of Hilaria?s old interviews and doing deep dives on all of the Hilaria-was-never-Spanish lore. While Blake Lively never lied about being ?from Spain,? there is a similar deep-dive into the gossip history around Blake. Like? what was up with Blake and Leighton Meester on Gossip Girl? They apparently didn?t get along at all towards the latter part of the series, so much so they the would barely even speak to each other. The Mail is on the case go here to read.
Meanwhile, the current Blake situation is that we still don?t know exactly what went down between Blake, Justin Baldoni and the cast of It Ends With Us. Many people around the production maintain this idea that Baldoni and Lively?s larger falling out happened in postproduction, especially when Blake brought in her own editor to create IEWU: The Lively Cut. It was also clear (to me) that Team Blake had already started an increasingly loud whisper campaign about Baldoni, one which scared him enough to hire a crisis management team this week. Well, speaking of all of that, the Hollywood Reporter has an interesting piece about the studio giving a lot of full-throated support for Blake, especially after she screened IEWU: The Lively Cut to Colleen Hoover?s groupies in Texas in June.
In mid-June, star-producer Blake Lively traveled to Dallas to attend author Colleen Hoover?s Book Bonanza for a Q&A in the lead-up to the August release It Ends With Us. Lively surprised the 2,000-plus attendees when she announced they could screen a rough cut of the movie adaptation the following night. The screening of the movie ? the first of Hoover?s popular novels to hit the screen ? proved to be a stroke of marketing genius for Sony, which bought rights to release the movie from Wayfarer Studios, whose co-founder, Justin Baldoni, both directed and stars in the film.
?Colleen Hoover?s Book Bonanza and her fans sparked the fire that was the beginning of the cultural movement,? says Josh Greenstein, a veteran marketer and president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.
Absent, however, from the Dallas gathering was Baldoni. The version shown that night was Lively?s preferred rough cut of the movie.
By the time the movie opened Aug. 9, an ugly war had erupted on TikTok and other social media platforms pitting Baldoni and Lively against each other. Many took aim at Lively, despite reports that some cast and crewmembers, including Lively, felt uncomfortable over Baldoni?s behavior on set.
Sony is fully in sync with Lively. ?Blake, Colleen and so many women put so much effort into this remarkable movie, working selflessly from the start to ensure that such an important subject matter was handled with care. Audiences love the movie. Blake?s passion and commitment to advancing the conversation around domestic violence is commendable,? Sony Pictures Entertainment Chair-CEO Tony Vinciquerra told The Hollywood Reporter. ?We love working with Blake, and we want to do 12 more movies with her.?
Sony?s marketing campaign ? in staying true to Hoover?s book ? conveyed that It Ends With Us isn?t a story of victimhood, but a story of redemption. It traverses falling in love, becoming an entrepreneur, friendship and family, alongside pain and trauma. ?Lily is a survivor and a victim, but that doesn?t define her, as she is in charge of her identity and her story. These themes were important to the campaign,? says one source connected to the film?s rollout.
Sources have told THR that there was a fracture between Baldoni and Lively in the postproduction stage, wherein two different cuts of the movie emerged. Lively commissioned a cut of the movie from editor Shane Reid, who was an editor on Deadpool & Wolverine, according to multiple sources.

This reads to me like why Baldoni hired crisis managers in the first place, because he was afraid he was going to get squished by the studio taking Blake?s side and throwing him under the bus. Sony is obviously doing the most to stay on Blake?s good side, and not only that, Sony is seemingly doing a lot (here and behind-the-scenes) to keep the arguments from devolving into petty, personal attacks. It suits everyone involved if the story is ?Blake and Justin disagreed about which edit to use, that?s the big problem? rather than ?Justin fat-shamed Blake and gave her a lingering kiss? or ?Blake is a mean-girl bully.?

This has been widely rumored for months! Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are over and they?ve called off their engagement. Back in May, Chris told an inquisitive fan that he was currently single. That set off a big chunk of the speculation, although I think there?s been more back-and-forth behind the scenes. As in, it wasn?t a hard break until recently.
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have reportedly called it quits. The Coldplay frontman, 47, and the actress, 34, ended their engagement after seven years together, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
The former couple ?have now accepted the relationship is over ? and it?s best to move on,? a source told the outlet.
Reps for Martin and Johnson did not immediately respond to Page Six?s requests for comment.
The ?Fifty Shades of Grey? star, notably, has not been with Martin during the European leg of his band?s ?Music of the Spheres? tour. (She did, however, check out Coldplay?s Glastonbury set in June.) She was pictured in Malibu, Calif., earlier this month without her engagement ring.

Dakota?s kind of having a rough year, with Madame Web flopping so hard and all of this relationship drama. Before now, Dakota and Chris seemed low-key and settled. They even lived together. I don?t think they ever got around to setting the date or planning any part of their wedding, but still, they were absolutely engaged. Anyway, I?m kind of sad for Dakota. She really loved him. Personally, I think Chris is a trainwreck in relationships, but I hoped he had grown out of that. Guess not.
Update: People Mag is saying this is all BS and theyre still together! Hmmm.
