Here is Taylor Swift opening the 2014 American Music Awards on Sunday with her new single, ?Blank Space.? Taking the stage at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, it marked the first time Swift has performed the track on television.
The theatrical performance was also a MAJOR smash with the crowd who gave Swifty a standing ovation for all of her crazy moves, like “throwing” one of her dancers across the stage!

Taking care of some promotional duties, Jennifer Aniston showed up at a special Pandora Jewelry-hosted engagement in West Hollywood last night (November 23).
The ?Friends? star was all smiles in a pair of designer spectacles as she posed for photos ahead of a screening of her new movie ?Cake.?
For the role, Jen transformed into the antithesis of her usual camera-ready, Tinseltown starlet persona.
She explained, ?I basically just didn't work out for two-and-a-half months. I stopped working out and I stopped being as careful about my diet as I normally am. I was still healthy, but I'd allow more.?

I kind of hated Jennifer Aniston?s whole look at last Thursday?s Horrible Bosses 2 premiere in LA. Her Zuhair Murad dress was dated and fug and her Bump-It ponytail was not all that cute. But I guess we?re supposed to think Jennifer?s every hair-move is noteworthy, because People Magazine literally published a story about her premiere-look hair. Seriously. They spoke to her long-time hair guy and BFF Chris McMillan and wrote up a longer article? about Jennifer Aniston?s ponytail. It?s so stupid, but I?ll admit it ? I read every word. It?s part infomercial (for LIVING PROOF, obvs) and partly just? Oscar stuff, I guess. Just keeping her name out there, even if it?s just people talking about her hair. Here?s the article:
There are a few things we know as sure as we know the earth is round. Kim Kardashian is proud of her abs. Chris Hemsworth is the sexiest man alive. And if Jennifer Aniston isn?t wearing her hair down and side-parted, she?s wearing it in a ponytail. She wore it in just such a style at last night?s Hollywood premiere of Horrible Bosses 2, but wait! Her stylist Chris McMillan proved we can still be surprised when it comes to her hair. Read on for three surprising facts about the star?s look last night.
1. Her Bangs Serve Two Purposes. Sure, they look cute, but McMillan tells PEOPLE, they?re really all about the photo op. ?She likes to use her hair as a prop, so she?ll be able to look over and use her fingers to push the hair out of her eyes,? he shares. ?Jennifer Aniston is a pro at having hair in her face and wrangling it out of her face, and making it look effortless and sexy.? (His secret to touchable texture? A little Living Proof Instant Texture Mist ? she?s a co-owner of the brand and he?s the celeb stylist.)
2. She Finds Hair Inspiration at the Drugstore. McMillan has been doing her hair for years, but she still manages to surprise him occasionally ? as she did by suggesting the finishing touch for last night?s pony. ?At Rite-Aid they have these ponytail holders that are two-thirds hair and the other part is the rubber band,? he says. ?Jennifer sent me a picture and was like, ?Look at these things, they?re kind of cool, huh?? So I bought them and I used one of them in her hair [last night]!? His go-to strategy usually involves a bungee elastic (?it keeps all the nape hair from buckling and becoming saggy?) topped with the star?s own hair, but he had to admit Aniston?s solution worked. ?I always see them but say I?m never going to use them, but then I used it and I was like, ?It?s working. I?m leaving it,?? he says.
3. Her next hairdo is a purple pixie. Okay, okay, he was joking, but McMillan swears he is convincing the star to mix up her look a bit. ?It?s still within her range, but we?ve been switching things up. She?s not showing up with the same hairdo,? he tells PEOPLE. ?We?ve been talking long, piece-y Alexa Chung-type bangs! I might get her in a weak moment. She?ll kill me, but it?s OK!?

GIVE ANISTON?S HAIR THE OSCAR. Her hair is the best part of Cake, obviously. And good lord, I hope Aniston doesn?t succumb to piece-y Alexa Chung bangs. Alexa?s bangs are awful and I just don?t think Aniston needs that kind of look. As for ?she likes to use her hair as a prop?? You don?t say! She?s built a 20-plus year career in Hollywood out of playing with her hair on camera.
Also: Jennifer told Extra that she was ?the original? when it came to showing her butt on the cover of a magazine. She was asked about Kim Kardashian?s Paper Magazine photoshoot and Jennifer mentioned her old Rolling Stone cover in the 1990s, where you could sort of see her butt ? go here to the NSFW cover. It?s almost like the producers were trying bury the fact that they made this film!!! The world premiere for Paddington – the film about a huge, creepy, CGI Paddington Bear ? was held in London on Sunday night. Most people forgot about it because it was the same night at the AMAs, obviously, which is why I?m so late in getting to these photos.
From what I know of the film (not much), Paddington Bear is now voiced by Ben Whishaw after Colin Firth ?consciously uncoupled? from the work at the last minute (it was so late in the game, there were already previews using Colin?s voice out in the world). Whishaw was brought in to give Paddington Bear a nicer, softer, less creepy voice, hoping to offset the fact that actors are interacting with a CGI terror. You can see the trailer for the film here.
Nicole Kidman plays the villainess in the film and she wore a wig for much of it, I guess (I don?t care). For the premiere, her hair was not the best ? I really wish she would stop with this too-light color. I think she would actually achieve a more youthful look (which is what she?s been aiming for all these years) if she just went back to a darker shade of red. Nicole?s dress is Prada Resort 2015. It?s not the best, but not the worst either. And I do like she?s holding her own umbrella. Her face looks? tight. Like if she smiles too much, it hurts.
I?m also including photos of Keith Urban, Ben Whishaw (adorable) and for some reason, Kate Moss. Moss brought her daughter Lila Grace and another child (I?m assuming the other little girl is Lila?s friend?). It?s cute to me that Kate Moss came out for this.

Presenter Heidi Klum showed up at the VMAs in this Versace gown which was basically a tube top with a thick Pink stripe sequin overlay. The skirt featured the same bizarre striping along with a cutout that showed her entire left leg. The Project Runway designers could have made Heidi a better gown in a day and they have.
She paired this bizarre dress with Pink and blue buckle shoes with lucite heels, also from Valentino. Plus her makeup was dark and overdone and she wore her hair slicked back as usual. Change it up, Heidi!
Dianna Agron took a risk in Marchesa and I think it paid off. Her funky styling kind of saves what would otherwise be a predictable black asymmetric prom dress. I really like her hair and makeup and thought she looked cute and edgy on camera. For Marchesa, this is decent.
Jordin Sparks looked sexy in this bronze Halston Heritage number, but it’s a little too 70s disco for my taste. I do like her styling and flowing curls. On E! they showed Jordin running up to Gavin Degraw to hug him on the red carpet. She looked so happy to see him.
Olivia Munn suffered from some terrible makeup that looked more suited to Halloween than an awards show. I get that you’re not supposed to do bold eyes with a bold lip but the cranberry lips pull focus from her underdone eyes. Plus that metallic Lanvin gown does nothing for her.
Lucy Hale was in a forgettable little Vera Wang black dress with an embroidered overlay. Unlike Olivia Munn she used enough eye makeup to balance out her dark lip color. Whenever I cover Lucy I look up her age because I assume she’s still a teenager but she’s 25! She looks so young.

Nicki Minaj wore Alexander Wang to last night’s AMAs. This is a cute little dress, and she paired it with Manolo Blahnik pumps. At first, I thought it was a boring dress, but it’s very detailed with all sorts of cutouts and a pleated mesh skirt. The runway version is easier to size up because Nicki’s heavy hair covers up some of the fun. I still can’t get used to Nicki’s “serious” face. The Pink lipstick bugs.
Selena Gomez also went for basic black in Armani Priv. This dress is okay, but I feel like we’ve seen her wear it a million times before. Ditto for the smoothed back hairstyle with a center part. Selena performed her Bieber-inspired epic song, “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” and you can see the clip here. She stood in front of a pair of CGI angel wings.

Jennifer Lopez was on hand at last night?s AMAs. She was there to perform the last song of the evening, ?Booty? with Iggy Azalea. There were stories about the ABC censors freaking out about the butt-specific nature of the song and potential performance, but I just watched two minutes of it (I went to bed early because I was going to wait for the stupid butt song) and it wasn?t really scandalous at all. Just hype! Hype plus a terrible song. You can see the video of the performance here.
As for Jenny from the block, she walked the red carpet in this pale pink/blush Reem Acra dress. It?s sexy and feminine and she looks like a gorgeous vampire. I don?t know what else there is to say. She looks amazing.
Here?s our girl Elizabeth Banks in Peter Pilotto. Banks wears a lot of Pilotto to these kinds of events ? I think she likes Pilotto?s ?fun? and colorful prints. She looks completely appropriate for the event, but this isn?t my favorite look ever.
Mary J. Blige made a rare public appearance. I?m not sure what I think about the blonde.
And here?s Julianne Hough in Zuhair Murad. I think she?s trying to do that bronzed, glowing, haux-wet-look that Jennifer Lopez did too, only Jennifer owns that sh-t and Julianne looks like a fake-tanning disaster. She looks even more orange because the dress is too orange-red rather than blue-red.

We’ll be covering the AMAs this morning. You can see a complete list of winners and nominees here. There weren’t a lot of big names last night, but there were some interesting gowns. First off we have Kate Beckinsale in a white deep v neck Kaufmanfranco. I like that she didn’t stick with her typical ball gown look with big hair, but this dress isn’t that interesting apart from how well it showcases her incredible figure.
Giuliana Rancic was gushing over Kate during the red carpet interviews and asked her what her secret was. Kate joked “I’m embalmed,” which doesn’t look too far from the truth. Her face looks much different, but it’s been that way for some time. I hope she stops visiting her dermatologist soon because she looked much better before. I do like her high ponytail and makeup, her styling is well done. That snake necklace is incredible too.
The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan (Maggie) was a presenter along with her costar, Danai Gurira, whom we’ll see next. Lauren was in a short cap sleeve black BluMarine dress that was almost as low cut as Kate Beckinsale’s gown. This looks a little too casual to me, but I guess a music awards show would be the place to wear it. Check out her studded shoes in the gallery. Those are pretty hot.
I didn’t even recognize The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira (Michonne) when I saw her get out of her limo on E! I’ve covered Danai at events so I should be able to recognize her without her dreds for the show. Here she is vamping it up in an emerald silk Naeem Khan gown featuring a subtle feather pattern and an asymmetrical shoulder bow. Unlike Kate Beckinsale’s gown, this was very striking. I love that jewel tone. That dress is amazing.
Performer Charli XCX wore a very low cut Vivienne Westwood gown on the red carpet. She seemed haughty to me in her red carpet interview but I guess some artists are like that. She performed her hit “Boom Clap” from The Fault in Our Stars and also “Sucker”. You can watch her performance on Just Jared.
This is Charli’s outfit for the press room. I don’t know who designed that dress, but woah. She didn’t take home an award so I’m not sure why she was posing so hard. (She was up for Single of The Year, for “Fancy” with Iggy Azalea, which went to Katy Perry for “Dark Horse”. Fault in Our Stars lost out for Soundtrack to Frozen.)

Just in case you forgot, Jude Law is a very attractive man. These Mr. Porter photos are so old-school Jude! He looks so beautiful. So beautiful that I temporarily forgot that he?s expecting his fifth child by his third baby-mama, a 23-year-old singer-type named Catherine Harding. Catherine and Jude are no longer together. So, he basically got one of his hookups pregnant and he?s trying to make the best out of it. As for this Mr. Porter thing? Jude is promoting his new film, Black Sea. Jude plays ?a laid-off submarine captain who goes in hunt of a sunken ship rumoured to be laden with Nazi gold.? Which might cause some people to wonder: is Jude poor? And the answer is yes. He?s paying child support to two women and he?s about to pay child support to a third. He IS poor. He will work in whatever he can get. You can read the full Mr. Porter article here. Some highlights:

The tabloid press: ?I no longer let that stuff in. I honestly don?t know and don?t care what?s being written about me. If people want to buy into it, then they can. I just try to live a normal life now. It?s my right. Being free to go out ? to a restaurant, to the theatre, or even just to a gardening centre ? is my right. That?s what living is. So that?s what I do.?

I agree that Jude has grown into what he always wanted to be: a brilliant character actor. People always treated him like he should just be a solid leading man, but Jude wanted different things for his career, and I respect that. I?m glad he?s not clinging to his pretty-boy vibe from two decades ago. And he?s right, the parts for him only get better as he gets older. And it?s not the same for women. As for the tabloid press stuff? I think that?s a smart decision for Jude in particular, to simply not participate in it. Don?t get mad, just ignore it. And he?ll have to do a lot of ignoring if he keeps knocking up his hookups!

Amy Adams is incredibly talented. I?m not sure ? in fact, I?m rather doubtful ? that she will win her Oscar during this current award season. There were many hopes pinned on her performance in Big Eyes, and while it?s still possible that she could get a Best Actress nomination, I just don?t think the reviews are good enough to get her an Oscar at long last (I?m pretty sure it?s going to Julianne Moore!). But Amy has still gotten five Oscar nominations so far in her career ? she is one of the best actresses of her generation, and I believe she?s going to be working for a long, long time. The fact that she?s a 40-year-old baby-faced vampire probably helps with that too. So, at the age of 40 ? even in vampire years! ? is she kind of too old to play Janis Joplin? Joplin was 27 years old when she died in 1970. And ever since then, Hollywood has been trying to make a Janis bio-pic. Now it looks like the project is going ahead, with Amy cast as Janis.
After years of false starts, Amy Adams will finally have her rock-’n'-roll moment. The five-time Academy Award nominee is set to portray legendary singer Janis Joplin in a long-stalled biopic that is finally inching closer to production, Deadline reports.
Adams, 40, signed on to play the “Piece of My Heart” singer way back in 2010, but the project hit numerous roadblocks over the years as it struggled to find a director and writing team.
Wild director Jean-Marc Valle is in negotiations to helm the biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Valle directed Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club, and is reportedly in talks to re-team with his writers from that film for this latest project.
As for Adams, she has made no secret of her affection for the hard-living-yet-vulnerable singer, who died at the age of 27 in 1970.
In the December issue of Vogue, Adams said that if given the opportunity to get coffee with anyone from the past, it’d be with Janis Joplin, but “it probably wouldn’t be coffee.”
The project is tentatively scheduled to begin filming sometime next year, according to reports.

Amy has been attached to various Joplin projects over the years ? there were casting rumors in 2010 and 2012, and stuff fell apart both times. Lee Daniels was attached to direct at one time. It sounds like the moment has finally come though and this project is finally going to get off the ground.
As for whether Amy will do a good job? as I said, I think she?s really talented. I even think Amy looks a bit like Janis and the age thing shouldn?t be that big of a deal. At 27, Janis had lived a really hard life with drug and alcohol abuse and if anything, Amy still might look too young to play Janis. I do wonder about Amy?s voice. And I do worry about Janis?s music catalog. If the producers don?t get the rights to the music, it?s just going to be, like, a Jackie Jormp Jomp fiasco.

Kendall Jenner was profiled in the New York Times about her rising modelling career. This isn’t the first time NYT has interviewed her. She made a cameo appearance in from a June 2013 profile where Kendall shyly muttered a few words and was described as “aggressively managed.” Things are different now. Kendall’s landing big-time contracts and walking runways at fashion weeks across the globe. Karl Lagerfeld just handed her an ad campaign, and many wonder if Chanel will be the next offer.
Kendall’s been talking a lot lately, which means she’s reluctantly crawling out of her shell. She talked about working hard for her career, and a lot of you called her out on it. Kendall also talked about her competitive Kardashian upbringing (which everyone seems to have won except for Rob the black sheep). All Kardashians are “workaholics, says Kendall. This NYT interview is even weirder. She talks about her “double life” in terms of Hannah Montana. Let’s do this:
On balancing modelling & KUWTK: “It?s definitely two different worlds. I feel like Hannah Montana. But it?s fun.”
Modelling is a lifelong dream: “I would literally sit at home and have my friends take pictures of me on my little Canon camera that my mom gave me for Christmas. Obviously, the show was me being in front of a camera. It?s just something that I?ve kind of always been around.”
She’s trying to rebrand: “We had to be very strategic and specific to really have people take me seriously and not mess around.”
On shaking the Kardashian reputation: “Some people are hesitant with me, and they just worry or wonder for a second. But then when the chance gets taken …”

Well. At least Hannah Montana left the stage and returned to a “normal” life. Kendall leaves her modelling gigs to spend time with one of the least normal families in the world. I guess KUWTK is so familiar to Kendall that maybe she thinks they’re normal. The journo describes Kendall as having a “daffy sweetness.” The NYT also speaks with Oliver Rousteing, creative director at Balmain, who says, “Kendall?s really communicating to a lot of girls. You know, like those models in the 90s, Claudia, Naomi.” Ooooh boy.

What is more righteous: Angelina Jolie?s amazing black boots or Zahara?s star-covered jeans? Some days, I really wish Zahara would just take over as her mom?s stylist because I think Zahara probably has the best style of all the Jolie-Pitts, and yes, I?m including Brad in there too. I totally want Zahara?s jeans. I wonder if they make star-covered jeans for adults? If not, they totally should.
These are some assorted photos of Angelina out with Shiloh and Zahara on Friday (they were coming out of Lee?s Art Store in NYC), plus some photos of Angelina solo, going into the Paley Center. The Paley Center outing for press for Unbroken. I guess Angelina had the afternoon free to take her two older girls out to the art supply store.
I?ve always enjoyed Zahara and Shiloh?s relationship. They seem like especially tight sisters, probably because they?re relatively close in age. Shiloh is just a year and a half younger than Z. And even then, you can tell that Shiloh is already an inch or two taller than Z ? Shiloh?s going to be a very willowy teenager, I bet. And I bet Z will always be petite. Shiloh?s shaggy Dorothy Hamill hairstyle is still amazing.
By the way, everybody has been talking about Angelina?s statements during her DuJour Magazine interview, where she basically said she?s going to quit acting. She issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly where she was like ?I?m not quitting? yet.? I tend to think that she?s in transition right now, deciding if she?s going to follow through on some long-gestating acting projects, plus she?s waiting to see how Unbroken is received. But? she?s talked about quitting acting for a while now. She really doesn?t want to do much acting anymore, that I believe.

Sometimes I do feel a little sorry for LeAnn, just because it seems weird to me that it?s THIS difficult for her to find a revenue stream that works out. She?s got a ton of money going out (she?s got to keep buying Eddie all of those toys) and barely anything coming in. But if Kim Kardashian can make stupid money, why not someone like LeAnn, you know? Anyway, you can read the whole Mail interview here ? LeAnn literally cries when a fan comes up to her. Some highlights:
Her wedding to Eddie: ?Our wedding was in Malibu at a friend?s house. We had chalkboards for guests to write messages on and I wrote, ?Thank God we lived through this.? We fought so hard to be together; there?s a bond between us that I think most people don?t have.?
She was the breadwinner at a young age: ?We struggled financially. But from the time I was seven I made $125 [around 80] every Saturday, singing at a music review show in Dallas. I bought all my own clothes. At one point I supported the family. Everyone in the family quit what they were doing to work with me.?
Guns: ?My dad taught me to shoot. Sadly, I had a gun in my hand at the age of two. Now I realise it probably wasn?t the smartest idea, but we?re from the South ? that?s what you did. My dad had hunting dogs, so he would hunt raccoons and birds.?
Being bullied by classmates: ?I always say: ?smart, pretty?unpopular?, because girls can be really jealous. I was terrified of school and I was bullied. When I was 11, a girl brought a knife to school and wrote me a note saying she was going to hurt me with it. Girls can be really mean, even now. It is sad that we can?t encourage each other. I think a lot of girls get intimidated by other people?s success.?
Depression: ?I had serious depression. People thought I had an eating disorder or was addicted to something. Not at all. I went into treatment for anxiety and depression. I had just turned 30 and I realised I couldn?t live like that any more. There were very dark moments, but I?m blessed that I had great friends I could call at 2am when I was crying. One of the biggest lessons I?ve learnt is that you can ask for help and it?s not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength.?
Falling for Eddie: ?I was meant to be with Eddie. Fans felt as though I was their daughter or sister making a big mistake when we got together, because they?ve grown up with me. But we both acted from our hearts and that?s impossible to turn around. Trust me, we both tried. Look, I?ve said ?I?m sorry? and made amends.?
Divorce is not an option: ?Eddie is my soulmate ? he and I completely get each other. We?re opposites ? I want to go shopping; he wants to ride dirt bikes ? but we bring out the best in each other. Divorce is not an option for us. Obviously if something horrible happened, I would have to take care of myself, but I don?t see that happening.?
Babies: ?I would love to have a kid with Eddie ? I hope it has his dimples! I?ve taken care of people my whole life, so for a long time the thought of having a child seemed exhausting, but I don?t feel that way any more. I?ve been working my whole life on the road, and I do wonder, ?How will I juggle that with a baby? What will have to change? Everything!? But I don?t want to wait too long. Having Eddie?s kids around has stirred something in me.?

I could unpack some of these quotes for days. ?Divorce is not an option for us.? Ha, yeah, we?ll see. I think divorce is not an option for HER. I think the only way LeAnn and Eddie would ever divorce is if he left her. And he?s not leaving her unless he finds a wealthier jumpoff. Also: ?I always say: ?smart, pretty?unpopular?, because girls can be really jealous.? Er? such a humble-brag. ?People bullied me because I was brilliant, beautiful, talented and super-humble, obviously.?
She also says she loves therapy and she talks about it as ?gaining tools? to live a better life. Now that I?m thinking about it? she must love therapy. She gets to talk about herself and spin out all of her conspiracies and the poor bastard therapist just has to sit there and listen.

It?s gotten to the point where I actually enjoy all of the cutaways to Taylor Swift in the audience during any given music awards show. Swifty is always seated front and center, usually surrounded by notable celebrity friends, and Swifty actually ?performs? as Greek chorus for much of the night. At last night?s AMAs, Swifty was dancing, singing along, and at one point crying (at the Selena Gomez performance). Swifty was there with her BFF Karlie Kloss, but at various times, Selena, Lorde and others were invited in the little Swifty group. No boys allowed!
Swifty didn?t walk the AMA red carpet, probably because she did ?Blank Space? as the first performance of the night. As soon as her performance was done, she changed into this green Michael Kors gown, which? eh. I like her in green. I think this would have been more interesting as a column dress rather than with the netting at the midsection.
Here?s the video of her performance ? is it just me or was the sound quality really crappy for most of the performances? And I didn?t think this was the strongest performance for the start of the show.
