| Russell Crowe & Danielle Spencer separate after nine years of marriage | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Oooh, this is a decent scandal that is not wholly unexpected. I mean, I was kind of shocked when I read this headline, and yet it made some kind of sense to me. Russell Crowe and his wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer, have separated. They have two sons together, Charles and Tennyson. Right now, the explanation given for the split is his schedule ? he?s been working a lot lately, and he has even more films to come. But is it ever that simple? Put another way: do you buy that Russell Crowe ? with his sometimes sordid romantic history ? would split up with his wife because he was working too much?
Gladiator actor Russell Crowe and his wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer, have separated, according to a report in Sydney today. The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor and his 43-year-old singer wife have gone their separate ways, with Crowe turning his undivided attention to his acting career after the split, said the report.
The couple, who have two children ? Charles and Tennyson, aged eight and six ? have parted on friendly terms, the children remaining with Miss Spencer while her now-estranged husband continues filming the biblical epic Noah in the US.
The report has come as a shock to showbusiness circles in Australia because the couple were regarded as a having a strong marriage despite the demands of their careers, with New Zealand-born Crowe in constant demand for film roles while his wife, whose mother is English, has managed caring for the children as well as singing and appearing on Australian TV.
They were married in a chapel on Crowe?s farm in the hamlet of Nana Glen, in northern New South Wales, in 2003, following which they lived in a penthouse on the shores of Sydney harbour before moving into a 6 million mansion in the posh harbourside suburb of Rose Bay.
The Sydney Morning Herald, which broke the news of the split today, said Miss Spencer was the quiet, unassuming woman who tamed the Gladiator with her calm and steady nature. She once said of her husband?s fame and fortune that ?all that stuff has nothing to do with me as a person.?
Despite the general belief that they were a strongly-bonded couple, some critics were surprised to note that Miss Spencer had been photographed on a night out with Damian Whitewood, her dance partner in a tv show, Dancing With the Stars, a few months ago. Crowe made a big point of dismissing rumours about their relationship later when he gave his wife a lingering kiss in front of the cameras at Sydney airport.
But the demands of his acting career have kept him away from Miss Spencer for much of this year. He has also missed most of the games of the Sydney rugby league club in which he has a financial interest and has left his wife to care for their children. He has six films coming out in the next 12 months ? Man with the Iron Fist, Les Miserables, Broken City, Superman, Noah and the Winter?s Tale.
The couple met 22 years ago on the set of the movie The Crossing, but before developing his relationship with Miss Spencer he had a much publicised romance with Meg Ryan. He said of Miss Spencer after their marriage that the thought of marrying her had crossed his mind the first time he had met her. Miss Spencer was careful with her words when her husband was involved in a phone-throwing incident in a New York hotel seven years ago after he was unable to get through to her.
?I?m not condoning his behaviour,? she said. ?I don?t want to make excuses for him because I?m certainly not. But I do understand when you?re apart that the loneliness kicks in.?
[From The Mail]
If you go to that Daily Mail link, you can see the photos of Danielle with that dude Damian Whitewood ? it does look like there could be something shady going on. Would Rusty?s wife cheat on him? Hm. Would he cheat on her? Hm. I really don?t know ? my feeling right now is that there?s more to this than just a scheduling issue. But here?s an interesting question: what does a single-and-ready-to-mingle Russell Crowe look like these days? Who would Russell make a play for at this point? He likes blondes, if that makes a difference. Who is available and blonde these days?

Looking eerily gaunt, Matthew McConaughey was spotted leaving a gym in Austin, Texas on Friday (October 12).
The 42-year-old actor wore a dark zip-up jacket, beanie, track pants, and sneakers as he jogged back to his vehicle.
Fans need not worry, however, because the weight loss is preparation for his role in the upcoming film, "The Dallas Buyer's Club." McConaughey plays a man suffering from AIDS who was told to "go home and die."
In the drama, his character, Ron Woodroof, delves into the world of underground pharmacies that supply HIV drugs not approved for use in the U.S., in an attempt to prolong his life and, ultimately, the lives of thousands of other people.
The dedicated actor told Us Weekly, "I?m playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn?t. For me, it?s more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I?ll get down to the weight I need to get to. I?m on my way, and it?s what I need to do for the job.?

Heading out to Tinseltown for some fresh ink, Rihanna was spotted leaving a tattoo parlor on Saturday night (October 13).
The "We Found Love" singer wore a black graphic t-shirt reading "west coast" with gray pants and black Chuck Taylors as she headed out into the streets.
Though there was no visible clue as to if and where Ri-Ri was tatted, she posted a drawing based on her Unapologetic album cover with the comment, "Tattoo Art Illustration by @deecosey."
Later, she tweeted photos of her November Vogue cover with the caption, "Mama I made it!"

In anticipation of her new book entitled "Beauty," the 26-year-old fashion designer talked to People about her own fashion faux pas. She admits, "One of the worst ones was roll-on body glitter. You would do it on your arms and on your cheeks. I remember doing it before soccer matches, which was really weird.?

Hitting up the celeb favorite hotspot for all things Halloween, Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie took their son Luca for his first pumpkin picking extravaganza at Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in West Hollywood, CA on Saturday (October 13).
The 25 year-old actress looked like quite the proud mama as she was seen taking pictures of her little man and enjoying all of the festivities.
Speaking of her adorable 6 month-old son, Hilary recently opened up to Parents.com about her reservations on raising him in the Hollywood spotlight.
"I am even scared of (Luca) growing up getting his picture taken all the time and feeling different. I saw a rag magazine the other day - I was having my hair done or something - and the headline said, 'Who Wore It Better?' and the photo showed (Tom Cruise's daughter) Suri Cruise and so-and-so's kid. They had the same dress on, and (magazine editors) put these kids up against each other. I'm just thinking that this is sickening. Now that I'm a mom and I have a child, I can't imagine. It's not right," Duff said.

| Preview of Rihanna's November Vogue cover: fierce or 'angry' & unflattering' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
This is a preview of Rihanna?s November cover of Vogue. This is her second time on the cover of American Vogue, although she has appeared on multiple issues of the international editions. She?s on Vogue (again) to promote her new album, which comes out on November 19th (worldwide), called Unapologetic. Which is an album title ripe for analysis, right? I?m assuming Rihanna is ?unapologetic? about getting back together with Chris Brown. She?s ?unapologetic? about screwing around with Brown after he nearly killed her. She?s ?unapologetic? about screwing around with Brown while he had a girlfriend. She?s ?unapologetic? about being dumb. Which? I don?t even know at this point. Do I want an apology from Rihanna? Not really. She doesn?t need to give me (or her fans) an apology. I?d just like her to show the sense God gave a goat, you know? Speaking of, Rihanna is planning on ?going public? with Chris soon:
Chris Brown and Rihanna were caught on some steamy dates in NYC in early October ? so steamy that Chris confirmed the end of his relationship with girlfriend Karrueche Tran on Oct. 4.
But Chris and Rihanna have yet to go public with their newly re-ignited relationship. That?s something fans will have to wait for until Rihanna releases her new album, Unapologetic, in November, a source tells us!
A source close to Rihanna tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Rihanna is focusing all her energy into her new album, but once it?s completed, we?ll see her and Chris publicly!
??She hitting the studio real hard these days, but [talks] to Chris every step of the way,? our source tells us. ?As soon as she finishes up with this album, they will be out. She gotta focus and get that album together and stay paid.?
[From Hollywood Life]
Here?s a real question, and yes, I can?t believe I?m actually asking this: do you think Rihanna?s fans will leave her in droves now that she?s officially back with Chris? No, right? Even though I would hope that there would be some kind of backlash against her and against Chris, I doubt there will be. She?s going to ?stay paid?. And hey, look at this way: maybe Chris will piss her off before then and they won?t even be together by November 19th.
Incidentally, I loathe this cover. I think Rihanna is so pretty, but this cover shot is AWFUL. Why does she look so angry? And why the stupid ?I love to have fun? cover line?

| Kim Kardashian in leather jodhpurs in Miami (for real): the worst style idea ever? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kim Kardashian posted this photo yesterday with the caption, ?Rawwwr!!! Halloween Costume shopping.? Spoiler alert: Kim Kardashian is going as some kind of hooker for Halloween. Shocking, I know. It will be like a ?slutty nurse? or a ?slutty witch? or a ?slutty hedgehog?. Something like that. I can?t even believe that this kind of costume exists in her size. For real? In other Kardashian news, some people down in Florida really, really hate that the Kardashians are filming down there:
Filming has begun as Kourtney & Kim Take Miami -? but this time they won?t be living anywhere near glamorous South Beach!
According to Belle Isle Blog, the Kardashian’s hopes of renting a beach home on the Sunset Islands, DiLidi Island and on North Bay Road were blocked by irate neighbors who didn?t want the hassle of having the reality-TV stars on their doorstep.
The family needed signatures from immediate neighbors of the prospective homes they wanted to use for a three-month period of non-stop filming ? and a support of 90 percent of homeowners within 500 feet. However, most residents kicked up a stink ? complaining that the film crews and paparazzi would prove a disruption to their normally tranquil neighborhoods. It has meant that Kourtney, Kim and Khloe ? who has been filming with her older sisters ? have had to settle for a base nearly 14 miles away from trendy South Beach in gloomy North Miami Beach.
?They found a gated community in North Miami Beach,? Raul Gonzalez of Miami Beach?s Office of Film and Print confirmed.
But despite their abode being in a desirable gated community, RadarOnline.com has learned the area the 51,000 square-feet property is far from safe.
?The area is known for its hourly hotels, strip clubs and high crime rate,? a source revealed. ?It?s a far-cry from their usual posh digs, with just a 7-Eleven and an abandoned old bank close by.?
On Wednesday, filming for Kourtney & Kim Take Miami got underway ? with the two protagonists taking the eldest sister?s kids, Mason and Penelope to the Wizard of Oz interactive exhibit at the Miami Children?s museum. The new season is set to premiere in January 2013.
[From Radar]
?The area is known for its hourly hotels, strip clubs and high crime rate.? Then they should feel at home. Those are their people. Let’s not pretend that they’re pretty princesses who can only live in the best accommodations ever. I think it?s actually kind of awesome that they were trying to get into a fancy neighborhood and all of the people in that neighborhood were like ?HELL TO THE NO.? Usually, the neighbors would just have to eat it, you know? It?s nice that the Kardashians didn?t get their way at least once.
You guys? prepare yourselves. I?m including some photos of Kim over the weekend in Miami, and she was wearing two different pairs of leather pants. One pair is like a tight, skinny-cut pair which is unflattering and awful in its own special way, but at least Kim is thoughtfully wearing a tunic which does make it slightly less awful. But the other outfit? two words: leather jophpurs. FOR REAL. Is she, like, riding horses now? Even if she was, do people wear LEATHER JODHPURS on a horse?! These pants make her look bottom-half look like she took part (voluntarily) in some kind of extreme thigh transplant.

| Brad Pitt claims he doesn't do drugs, says 'War on Drugs' is 'an incredible failure' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
In addition to his film Killing Them Softly (out in November) and his Chanel contract (the ads are due out tomorrow), Brad Pitt has another side project to promote: he?s the executive producer on a documentary called The House I Live In, directed by Eugene Jarecki. The documentary is about ?what President Richard Nixon coined ?the war on drug abuse? in 1972. The film looks at how things have exploded since then, how we ever got there in the first place, and what the hell it all really means.? Brad made an appearance at an LA screening for the film on Friday night (we don?t have those photos, sorry), and Brad ended up discussing his own drug use and his thoughts on The War On Drugs (and Drug Users). You can read the full interview here, at HuffPo, and here are some highlights:
Brad?s drug confession: ?My drug days are long since passed but it’s certainly true that I could probably land in any city in any state and get you whatever you wanted. I could find anything you were looking for. Give me 24 hours or so. And yet we still support this charade called the drug war. We have spent a trillion dollars. It’s lasted for over 40 years. A lot of people have lost their lives for it. And yet we still talk about it like it’s this success.?
What Brad thinks of ?The War on Drugs?: “[It] is possibly a barrier to keep the impoverished down. To keep them shackled. And I thought well that [producing this documentary] may be even too liberal for me [laughs], but we just came off of Hurricane Katrina. We had just witnessed that there was a particular portion of our society that was being ignored and that this could be the case.”
Brad on why we don?t even talk about drugs in this election: ?It?s been this taboo subject forever -? unless you’re claiming victory for a bust or a win. It’s absolutely taboo to talk about it as a failure. Which it is. It’s an incredible failure? If we spent a fraction of that on education …?
Brad on what the ?War on Drugs? is really about: ?Certainly that it’s a backwards strategy that perpetuates itself. But also Eugene came at it in a way that I had never thought about before. That the drug war is actually being used to hold a portion of our society down. It’s staggering to me what is being perpetrated in this name of a war on … immorality. It’s criminal in itself. And we’ve got to look at that. We have to change that.?
How we end the War on Drugs: ?The only way to end the war on drugs is to take the profit out of it. I know this comes with a whole other host of problems and I don’t know if I’m actually presenting it as a reality, but we have to look at the what-if-everything-was-legal and people were allowed to make their own choices. And we were treating it less as a criminal issue and more as a sickness. People do drugs to escape. We’re not talking about experimentation. People with long-term drug use are escaping.?
Brad on de-criminalizing drugs: ?There’s another issue. You can control quality. The quality of drugs is higher than it’s ever been, but it?s still all over the map. If you decriminalize, then they could control the quality.?
[From HuffPo]
The HuffPo interview is actually with Brad and the director, Eugene Jarecki, and Jarecki has a lot of interesting stuff to say about decriminalization and how our war on drugs has fundamentally changed the Mexican economy. It?s a fascinating discussion, and even if you don?t agree with Brad and Jarecki, I do wish this was a larger discussion in our society, and I wish politicians (from both parties) could discuss this situation with an eye towards the realpolitik.
