| Hugh Grant thinks his 'Notting Hill' character was 'despicable' | Added 48 minutes ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Hugh Grant is one of those actors who hates watching himself on screen and notoriously sh-ts on a lot of his movies. At this point, it?s somewhat endearing because although he?s not old (64), he?s cultivated this cranky, old man yells at clouds persona. It?s kind of impressive. Anyway, Hugh recently did Vanity Fair?s ?Scene Selection? segment, where the reporter replays certain scenes for an actor and then they give their thoughts on it. As you can imagine, Hugh has lots of thoughts.
One of those opinions is about his character, Will, in Notting Hill. I think Notting Hill is my favorite rom-com after When Harry Met Sally. A quick refresher: Will is a normie bookshop owner who gets involved in a relationship with a famous movie star, Anna, played by Julia Roberts. The big struggle for their characters is getting past all of the paparazzi attention that?s suddenly thrust upon them. In one particular scene, they have a romantic evening only to wake up the following morning and find that the paps have unexpectedly figured out where they were. Will discovers them first and when Anna asks him what?s wrong, he does nothing to stop her from opening the door and having hundreds of cameras flashing in her face. Hugh has some harsh words about Will over that scene. He considers him to have been a ?despicable? coward.
Hugh Grant is known to not be the biggest fan of his past movies, but he has specific issues with his character in the 1999 rom-com Notting Hill. The actor recently partook in Vanity Fair?s ?Scene Selection,? where he shared why he thinks his character William Thacker is ?despicable.? Grant stars opposite Julia Roberts in the film.
?Whenever I?m flicking the channels at home after a few drinks and this comes up, I just think, ?Why doesn?t my character have any balls?? he said. ?There?s a scene in this film where she?s in my house and the paps come to the front door and ring the bell and I think I just let her go past me and open the door. That?s awful.?
The rom-com classic, directed by Roger Michell, sees famous actress Anna Scott (Roberts) fall in love with William, the owner of a bookstore in Notting Hill. However, the paparazzi?s fascination with her complicates their relationship.
?I?ve never had a girlfriend, or indeed now wife, who hasn?t said, ?Why the hell didn?t you stop her? What?s wrong with you?? Grant added. ?And I don?t really have an answer to that ? it?s how it was written. And I think he?s despicable, really.?
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
Well, I didn?t have Hugh Grant giving a somewhat woke take about his most famous rom-com character on my bingo card, but here we are. I also didn?t have me defending Will?s actions either, but here I go. I just rewatched that scene (and then some) and honestly, Will was clearly taken off guard by the hundreds of paparazzi at his doorstep and too stunned to say anything other than a weak protest when Anna goes to open the door. I agree that it was awful to let her open the door and he definitely didn?t have the balls to stand in front of it to prevent her from opening it, but I don?t know if that makes him despicable or just human. I think his passive reaction to Anna?s freakout afterward is way worse! Am I way off base here? Is sentimentality clouding my judgment?
Hugh talks a bit more about working with Julia Roberts in Notting Hill. He also gives his opinions on Love Actually, Bridget Joness Diary, A Very English Scandal, and more. You can watch his entire segment below:

| Sarah Palin is upset that Donald Trump hasn't nominated her for a Cabinet position | Added 48 minutes ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did y?all know that we haven?t written about Sarah Palin in over two years? She was in the news a lot in 2022, when she tried and failed to sue the New York Times for libel, and kept wandering around New York unmasked while she was Covid-positive. Then she ran in a special congressional election in Alaska and lost? to a Democrat. Good times. It felt like after fourteen grim years in the public eye, Palin had tucked her tail between her legs and finally accepted that she was and is a huge political joke. But the rise, fall and rise again of Donald Trump has given Sarah Palin delusions of glamour. Apparently, she?s really mad that Trump hasn?t nominated her for a Cabinet position.
As Donald Trump quickly fills out his cabinet and top roles in his administration, Sarah Palin asks: Why not me? The former vice presidential candidate and governor of Alaska took to social media to share her frustration at not being selected for any role in the Trump administration.
On Sunday, Palin posted ?And? another nominee announced!? on her Instagram story. She followed that up with a screenshot of a message a follower had sent her, which said, ?What about you?? Palin thanked the fan in her post. She then posted a cryptic selfie with the caption: ?Funny how politics work.?
Palin capped it off by posting a rant the same follower tagged her in.
?Currently, President elect Trump has named his secretaries for the VA, Energy, Interior and EPA administrator. Any one of these positions I hoped Sarah Palin would get,? the follower wrote, which Palin posted to Instagram and X. ?Palin was Trump before Trump. I have been saying this for years. Sarah Palin is the Mother of MAGA. Back then [16 years ago], she was the face of the tea party, what would then become the MAGA movement. It is so shocking to me how in 2017, and now it looks like in 2025, she will not get a seat at the table that she helped set.?
Palin?s name has been notably absent from all short-lists for Trump cabinet picks. In 2016, Trump signaled that he was considering tapping Palin as interior secretary, but that never materialized. Now, Palin?s name isn?t in the conversation at all.
?Big tent, big party, but know your history so America can repeat the good parts,? Palin captioned the follower?s rant.
[From The Daily Beast]
Completely excluding the fact that Sarah Palin is an idiot and a bum, I will acknowledge in a very narrow way that she actually has a point: Palin was the proto-Trump, the elevation of the worst of white grievance, white entitlement and white fragility. Trump largely used the Palin playbook, but of course he added even more hate, including profound sexism and violent misogyny which has seeped into all things MAGA. I even partly believe that Palin is a no-go in Trump?s administration simply because she?s a woman.

| VF: Kensington Palace 'refuses to comment' on the Waleses' security post-break-in | Added 2 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Some people are theorizing that the left-behind Windsors are trying a different kind of PR strategy these days: feel sorry for us, woe is me, bad things keep happening to us, we?re so pitiful. It could be, although I don?t think they even needed the deflection because barely any British outlets covered the Dispatches/Times investigation into the Duchy of Lancaster and Duchy of Cornwall. That investigation revealed Prince William and King Charles?s slumlording and profiteering from public services and charities. Who can talk about that when some nefarious burglars broke into the Royal Windsor estate and made off with some farm equipment though? Apparently, this is the bigger story! And Kensington Palace *refuses* to talk about Prince William and Kate?s safety! From Katie Nicholl at Vanity Fair:
Following a break-in on the grounds of Windsor Castle last month, where Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis reside, Kensington Palace has refused to comment on the family?s security.
On Sunday, The Sun reported that police were on the hunt for two suspects who broke into buildings on the Windsor Castle estate on October 13. It is believed the thieves were targeting farm machinery and used a stolen vehicle to crash through a security gate as they sped off with the stolen items. No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues, a Thames Valley Police spokesman told The Sun.
The theft took place a short distance from Prince William and Princess Kate?s home on the royal estate as the couple and their three children slept. However, it is understood there was no threat to their safety, and the family members have no plans to leave Adelaide Cottage, where they have been living since the summer of 2022.
The Sun described the incident as a ?major security scare? for the royal family after two men successfully scaled a six-foot fence and gained access Shaw Farm. A source told The Sun that the suspects ?must have been watching Windsor Castle for a while.?
While a security force does not live in Adelaide Cottage, the family is protected 24/7 by close protection officers. The break-in follows news that armed police have been removed from Windsor Castle?s two main public entrances because of a shortage of firearms officers in the Met Police.
[From Vanity Fair]
Other commentators are laying it on thick, claiming that the break-in was ?horrific? because William and Kate ?are under immense stress due to her health concerns, this is the last thing they need.? Something is really weird about this break-in story, you guys. The fact that no one said anything for more than a month about the break-in, the fact that Kensington Palace won?t even confirm if the Wales fam was actually staying at Adelaide Cottage at the time (it?s all assumptions, they haven?t got anything confirmed), and the fact that KP won?t say anything about the security situation. It?s all so odd. They keep saying that the burglars must have been casing the joint for weeks (all to steal two vehicles??) is that what they?re really worried about? That the burglars might know more about William and Kate?s movements and living situation than the press knows?

| Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves recreated the 'How to Lose a Guy' poster | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are the co-owners of a new tequila company, Pantalones Organic Tequila. They launched it last year. To market the brand, Camila and Matthew have been posing for a series of pictures in which Matthew isn?t wearing any pants. Get it? ?Pantalones? means ?pants,? so he?s going pantless to promote it? Yeah. One of the ads they did recreates the famous poster for Matthew and Kate Hudson?s movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, with Camila standing in for Kate and Matthew wearing his suit jacket with no pants. The ad is titled, How to Lose Your Pants in 10 Ways.
Matthew McConaughey is putting a cheeky spin on one of his most memorable movies. The actor teamed up with wife Camila Alves McConaughey to recreate the iconic poster for his 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Although, in the reenactment for the couple?s Pantalones Tequila brand, he ditches his full suit for a more casual look.
In the poster titled How to Lose Your Pants in 10 Ways, the Oscar winner opted to go trouser-free in a nod to the tequila brand?s name, which is Spanish for ?pants.? As for Camila, she leaned on her husband in a yellow silk dress identical to the one worn by Kate Hudson, who starred alongside Matthew in the film.
Along with the poster, the brand also launched ten new cocktail recipes inspired by the classic comedy including ?Yellow Dress,? ?Rom Com Rita? and ?You?re So Vain,? a nod to one of the movie?s most unforgettable scenes.
The stunt is the latest in a series of pantsless ads the duo shot for the tequila company, which the couple co-founded in 2023. Camila?who shares kids Levi, 16, Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11, with Matthew?recently revealed their children?s reaction to the scantily-clad photo series.
?They thought they were hilarious,? Camila told People in September. ?Whats not to like? It is meant to be fun and silly getting the wink on the joke!?
And with their kids on board, the couple?who wed in 2012?intend to keep the gag going.
?Its safe to say you may see Matthew and I pantsless again,? she added, ?with some Pantalones in-hand.?
[From EOnline]
I don?t know how I feel overall about the pantless campaign, but this poster, along with launching the 10 How to Lose a Guy?-themed cocktail recipes, is clever and fun. I would have done totally different pants-themed advertisements, though, not just ones where Matthew isn?t wearing pants. They could have even tied each one into a different MM movie. That said, I think it?s kind of endearing that Matthew and Camila asked their kids for approval to do a campaign where Daddy is posing (literally) half-naked with Mommy. Those kids are at the ages where they would find this ad campaign funny, although they?re probably like six months out from Levi finding it cringe.

| Angelina Jolie signs on to star in 'stitches,' set within Paris Fashion Week | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

One of the big reasons why Angelina Jolie?s longtime fans are so excited about Pablo Larrain?s Maria is because we hope that this will mark Angelina?s return to acting consistently. She had a lengthy ?wilderness? period where she was focused on her family and doing smaller projects close to home. But even before Angelina left Brad Pitt, she had already spent years avoiding acting gigs like the plague. There was a hope that working with Pablo Larrain somehow made Angelina realize that she could have a lot of fun if she simply took more acting work. Well, it?s all happening. Angelina has signed on to another film, set in Paris. More specifically, set at Paris Fashion Week. Angelina will be working with acclaimed French director Alice Winocour.
Following her critically acclaimed turn as legendary opera singer Maria Callas in Pablo Larran?s ?Maria,? Angelina Jolie will return to Paris to star in Alice Winocour?s first English language directorial effort. The movie, titled ?Stitches? (?Coutures?), is set in the world of high fashion and unfolds in Paris. Jolie stars in the movie as a filmmaker and is one of three women whose lives will collide during Fashion Week.
Filming is expected to begin at the start of next year with Charles Gillibert?s Paris-based banner CG Cinema producing in partnership with Zhang Xin and William Horberg of Closer Media.
?Stitches? also reteams Winocour with French production-distribution powerhouse Path Films following her well-received movie ?Paris Memories,? which world premiered at Cannes? Directors Fortnight and earned its star Virginie Efira a Cesar Award (France?s equivalent to the Oscar) for her performance as a survivor of a brutal terrorist attack. Path Films will distribute ?Stitches? in France. UTA Independent Film Group structured the financing for the film and is representing global and North American rights. Hanway Films is handling international sales.
The film will shoot in both French and English, in line with Winocour?s previous movie ?Proxima.? The latter starred Eva Green as an astronaut preparing for a year-long stint on the International Space Station, coping with the guilt of leaving her young daughter and navigating a male-dominated environment. Green was nominated for Cesar Award for this role and the movie won the platform prize at Toronto, as well as the jury award at San Sebastian.
[From Variety]
Angelina does speak French at some capacity but I?m not sure if she?s fluent enough to pull off a role which is half in French? But you never know, maybe she?s more fluent than we know, or maybe the character mostly speaks English. While this sounds like a fantastic French art-house kind of film and I love that for Angelina, truly I do hope she?s also getting scripts from the Hollywood studios? I?m slightly worried about her financially, because Brad Pitt is going to keep financially abusing her for years longer. Mama needs to pick up some big paychecks.

| Martha Stewart has been using the same discontinued eyeliner for '15 or 20 years' | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Martha Stewart likes LeClerc, a posh French makeup brand, so far so normal. But Martha Stewart being so enamored with a discontinued liquid eyeliner of theirs that she?s been using her final five tubes for 15-20 years by periodically adding water? Now that seems quite out of character for the perfectionist home & lifestyle queen. Experts advise that eye products like mascara and liner should not be used for longer than three months. So if Martha?s been applying her prized eyeliner for 15 years, she?s 57 months late in tossing the expired product. This all came to light in a video Martha filmed for Allure where she takes us through her daily makeup routine. Allure made the caption about her love of bronzer, but it?s the unhygienic eyeliner practice that has fans worried. Unsanitary makeup habits: it?s not a good thing!
?This is my secret for every day,? Stewart says in the clip, shared on Nov. 2, while holding up a tube of LeClerc liquid liner. ?It?s not made anymore. It?s probably 15 or 20 years old. I have five of these, which I cherish.?
?I just keep adding water to it,? she explains. ?It has not dried out, incredibly.?
Stewart applies the ?silvery, gray-brown? liner to her top and bottom lash lines, ?just to make my eyes look a little bit wider.?
Of her makeup routine, the author says, ?My makeup artist Daisy?s watching and she?s probably cringing at what I do.?
For the record, eyeliners are generally not recommended to be used for more than a few months, as eye makeup can become contaminated with germs very quickly, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Stewart shares another beauty secret to keeping up her youthful glow ? bronzer.
?I usually just bronze myself a lot and that gets me out the door,? she says, calling out the Westman Atelier Butter Powder Bronzer as her go-to.
?My granddaughter Jude says, ?Martha, you use too much bronzer,?? Stewart adds. ?But I like bronzer. I?ve always used too much bronzer. It just makes me feel healthy, which I am.?
The star has been promoting her new Netflix documentary Martha, which chronicles Stewart?s life and career as America?s first self-made female billionaire.
During a Tuesday, Nov. 12, appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the chef said her grandkids ? granddaughter Jude, 13, and grandson Truman, 12 ? had already seen her doc.
?They watched my documentary,? Stewart shared, referring to Truman and Jude.
?What did they think?? asked Drew Barrymore, 49.
?Well Jude, who?s 13, said, ?It was very good. I think I?ll watch it again,?? Stewart recalled.
She also spoke about her thoughts on the documentary overall, saying: ?Oh, well, I thought it was a good representation of a 20th and 21st century woman and giving hope and caring to the female gender in America. Really.?
[From People]
What gets me about Martha Stewart using the same eyeliner for roughly 60 times past the recommended usage, is that it absolutely seems like the kind of thing she would judge someone else for, if the brush were on the other eyelid. I mean, I guess we can count it as further proof of how indestructible she is, that gross old makeup can?t take her down. Although we are missing critical commentary from her dermatologist and ophthalmologist in this conversation. But seriously kids, do not try this at home! As for Martha being bronzer-happy, apologies to her granddaughter, but I don?t think it?s too much! Of course it may be more striking in person. But speaking as a pale person myself, who is often advised to use bronzer to add a note of ?this is the face of someone who is actually alive? to my appearance, I get it.
Last thought: ?I thought it was a good representation of a 20th and 21st century woman and giving hope and caring to the female gender in America,? is quite the lofty statement for a documentary she keeps saying she doesn?t like.

| John Stamos wore a bald cap for 'cancer solidarity' with Dave Coulier | Added 3 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Last week, Dave Coulier announced that he?d been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. (NHL is a form of blood cancer that begins in your lymphatic system.) He told Today that what led to him getting tested was discovering a ?golf-ball sized? lump in his groin that popped up about a week after he?d had a cold. In the past, he?d notice swollen lymph nodes while he was sick, but never to that extreme. Thankfully, Daves form of cancer is treatable. Because the cancer hasn?t spread to his bone marrow, Dave said that his chances of making a full recovery are as high as 90%.
On Monday, Dave?s good friend and former Full House co-star, John Stamos, made a post on Instagram to show his support. The post had pictures of John wearing a bald cap as he shaved Dave?s head. There was also a picture of the two of them posing together post-head shaving, making it look like they were both bald. The fact that John was wearing a bald cap and didn?t actually shave his famous locks was controversial, though, with people arguing about the gesture and his intentions in the comments.
?Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro @dcoulier,? Stamos captioned the pictures. ?You?re handling this with so much strength and positivity?it?s inspiring. I know you?re going to get through this, and I?m proud to stand with you every step of the way. I love you (p.s. ? @melissacoulier is the most wonderfulest ? your true life line!).?
Several commenters took issue with Stamos not actually shaving his head.
?What a shallow gesture! Couldn?t even cut your hair off for your friend. And you made sure to post it on Instagram to get those likes too,? one person commented.
?Uncle Jessie could never cut his hair,? another person wrote.
?God bless Dave but is this really appropriate?? someone else pointed out. ?A bald cap is showing solidarity? You can just take your cap off and be ?normal? again. When people take this route they actually shave their head. I can?t help but feel that you?re using Dave?s diagnoses as a way to make yourself more likeable.?
Coulier responded hours later to the negative comments with a post of his own on his Instagram page.
Im sorry to see a bunch of negative comments as Ive just begun my cancer journey, he wrote. Its our friendship (me and John) and this is how we are handling a very tough time. Im a comedian and humor is what drives me. John knows how to cheer me up and I laughed out loud when he arrived wearing a bald cap being a true loving friend and brother.
He went on to highlight so many people who were inspired by his story to check in with their doctors about health concerns.
Im choosing to spread the word about early cancer detection to help people. Thats just who I am, he wrote, concluding with: I wish nothing but love for all of you.
There were also plenty of people who had no problem with Stamos.
?Awwww this is so cute ? also, to anyone in the comments.. if Dave isn?t offended by this, you shouldn?t be either and remember .. John is an actor and may need his hair for his JOB. This should be a space filled with positivity and hope.. take the negativity elsewhere,? one person commented.
?This is fantastic ,? wrote ?Full House? star Candace Cameron Bure.
?You?re a good friend Charlie Brown. Dave is a trooper. All three of you will get through this!? someone else commented.
?You guys look great!? another person raved.
Coulier also said he was planning to get together with Stamos after his second round of chemotherapy.
?We?re going to have so many laughs. We?re going to have so much fun,? Coulier said. ?I said, ?It could be ?Weekend at Bernie?s? if I?m just out of it.? And (Stamos) said, ?That?s OK. I?ll carry you around.??
[From Today]
After Dave made that post defending John, John?s wife, Caitlin, showed up in his comments to shame everyone for being mean to her husband:
I really hope the people who chose to say cruel things about my husband?who flew across the country and did what he could do bring joy to his friend going through chemo?look inward. Instead of tearing down others, take that time to think about how you can bring joy to the people you love.
I don?t know, bitches. At the surface level, it does look like John was making a well-intentioned but superficial gesture by wearing a bald cap instead of shaving his head in solidarity. I understand the point people are making about how he can just take the cap off and go back to normal life. But, honestly, if Dave said that he thought it was hilarious and that it cheered him up, then John successfully did what he set out to do: Make his friend feel supported and not alone in his cancer battle. These kinds of situations are unique to the people who are involved and their relationship with one another. Who are we to tell someone theyre wrong for feeling comforted by a friends gesture?
Just like when Jenna Fischer revealed that she?d been fighting breast cancer for the last year, Dave also used his diagnosis to urge fans to do their annual preventative cancer screenings and not put off getting any potential symptoms checked out. So, here?s your periodic reminder to schedule those recommended exams, and not to ignore it when it feels like something is not right with your body.
