Megan Fox‘s hotness comeback is in full swing and I’m so glad that she is back. I’m a little old school when it comes to my chicks. That being said Megan, my greasy mitts and little Tuna spent years together playing pocket pool until she decided to marry a douche, have a kid and disappear […]

| Demi Lovato stopped dieting, is now calling out 'diet culture' & 'food shaming' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

You guys, I think I have become a Demi Lovato Convert. I used to not really care about her, but I have increasingly become a fan. I sing along to her songs, I give her props when she openly thirst-traps Henry Cavill, and I found myself nodding along with her as I read this People Magazine interview. Demi has always been open about her body image struggles and her eating disorders, and she?s come to the point – at the age of 25 – where she?s just stopping the cycle. She no longer diets, but she admits that it will always be a struggle to avoid disordered eating patterns. Some highlights:
The struggle with body positivity: ?It?s a daily battle. Some days I feel great and some days I don?t feel great. And sometimes it?s periods of times. I stopped dieting and have gained a little weight so it?s been a struggle but at the same time, I?m happier because I?m not restricting myself from certain foods and I?m no longer food shaming myself.?
Giving up dieting & giving up food shaming: ?I think that?s something in our society we get caught up in diet culture. Every commercial on TV is either about a weight loss pill or piece of fitness equipment or it?s all food-based. As someone recovering from a food disorder, it?s something that I want to put out there that you don?t have to diet in order to be happy. I don?t think I?ve heard that message out there in the public and of course, it?s important to be healthy and everything in moderation is fine.?
Why she?s been open about all of this on social media: ?I wanted to put that message out there for other people especially with the new year coming in because it?s very triggering for people that are in recovery because everything is about weight loss. Because new year?s resolutions are about going to the gym and it?s really important that there?s somebody out there to speak up and say, ?Hey your weight doesn?t define your self-worth and it definitely doesn?t define your beauty inside and out.? ?
Why she posts sexy photos on social media: ?I think posting sexy pictures are so empowering and liberating. Anytime you can put yourself out there the more empowering I feel. Also it doesn?t hurt when you look good and you have a good bathing suit on and then a cute guy likes your picture. Doesn?t hurt.?
[From People]
I?ve said that I feel like some young women simply ?outgrow? disordered eating patterns. For some women, obviously, it will be a lifelong struggle. But I always felt like I simply outgrew my own disordered eating patterns from my teenage years, like I just got to an age and mindset where I stopped caring so much about being a certain size and just started enjoying my life and eating what I wanted to eat. I feel like Demi has sort of come to a similar conclusion – obviously, she still struggles and she?s had a lot of therapy, but she?s also just… matured. And let?s not forget, ?diet culture? is a real thing, and in Demi?s circles, diet culture is being called ?wellness? and ?clean living? and such. It?s just dieting by another name, really. Anyway, I applaud Demi for her growth and for talking about it publicly.
PS? I?m not trying to be mean with these photos, I honestly love how f–king crazy her outfit is. Denim garters!!!

| Matthew McConaughey is grateful for his wife, 'who doesn't want to change me' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Matthew McConaughey is a laid back guy who does his own thing. When I started this blog in 2006 we would get paparazzi photos of him barbecuing and drinking beers outside his airstream trailer, which was his only home. He was already a movie star at the point and he was living out of a trailer. He would regularly exercise outside barefoot, sometimes with his toothbrush sticking out the side of his mouth. Of course we?ve all heard about the naked bongo playing.
McConaughey has never been a ?party on yachts with supermodels? type of celebrity. He met Camila Alves when he was living in that trailer. She knew what she was getting into and she was cool with that. Of course he did buy a mansion (he lives next door to Pink!), married Camila in 2012, had three kids with her and the rest is history. We?ve never heard a peep about him being unfaithful or creepy. Not that he should get a cookie for being a decent guy, but that seems rare in his industry. At an event on Sunday (not the Oscars), McConaughey was asked what he?s grateful for. He said his kids and his wife, who lets him be himself. McConaughey was at an event held by the City Gala charity, where he was being given the 2018 Inspiration Honoree Award. He’s very active with his JK Living Foundation, which encourages high school students to live healthy lives:
Matthew McConaughey… took part in a Q&A with City Gala founder Ryan Long, and kicked off the conversation with his trademark phrase: ?Alright, alright, alright.?
When Long asked McConaughey what he?s most thankful for, the Texas native responded, ?My life, three healthy children,? before adding, ?[and] my wife Camila [Alves,] who doesn?t want to change me.?
The Oscar winner also added that one of his favorite quotes, ?just keep livin,? comes from spiritually wanting to keep his late father ? who passed away in 1992 while ?making love? to his mother ? alive…
When Us Weekly caught up with his brother, Mike ?Rooster? McConaughey, in January 2017, he opened up about the advice his younger sibling had given him about staying genuine in the industry as he took on a role in an A&E reality show called Rooster & Butch.
?I think some of the best advice was when [my business partner] Butch [Gilliam] and I agreed to get into this show business. He [Matthew] just said, ?Whatever you do, you guys just be you,?? he told Us. ?Just be you and it?s going to be great. Just be you no matter what.??
[From US Weekly]
I haven?t covered McConaughey in a while and I always enjoy him. He has homespun wisdom and such a unique way of looking at the world. I love that advice he gave his brother about staying true to himself. This is food for thought for me, in that it?s relationship goals to find someone who lets you be yourself, and who appreciates your uniqueness. I bet he does the same for Camila. These two go to events and support each other, but they?re low key. I want to see them grow old together.
Also, I haven’t checked out Camila’s Instagram before and it’s a gem.
Happy valentines … all the love! ??????muito amor a todos!

| Krysten Ritter on all women directors for Jessica Jones: 'I feel more at ease' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The second season of Netflix’s Jessica Jones is almost upon us. I’ll admit I was only so-so on the first season but I liked it enough to give the second a try. Even with losing David Tennant in that role (my God, he was incredible) I really like Kyrsten Ritter and I think she’s great as Jessica. However, another reason to support the series is because, as we discussed after season one, Netflix committed to hiring female directors for all 13 episodes. Now that the season two is (finally!) here, Krysten talked about what that meant to her and the show in general.
On getting into Jessica’s dark headspace: I’ve gotten a lot better at that, in Season 2. The more you use that muscle, the better you get at it. I feel like I am able to find a balance and am able to bounce back. I also make sure to do nice things for myself and go out with the crew. I realized that I like to laugh a lot and have fun, so I make sure to find those moments and have balance. In Season 1, I got really depressed and wasn’t able to shake it off like that. Now, I feel like I was able to be a little bit more disciplined, in that way. But yeah, Jessica is in a really dark headspace and you have to take good care of yourself, mind and body to stay in that level of darkness for six months.
On having all 13 episodes being directed by women: It was really great. Our show is already so female. Season 1 was so female. It’s already in our DNA. But having all women this season was exciting because it’s never been done before, which is stupid. The content that we cover and the dark subject matter and the sexual stuff, to be honest, having those conversations with a woman is a lot easier for me. I feel much more at ease and safe, and able to be vulnerable and raw, when you’re planning this stuff out with a woman. It just takes something away from a conversation, when you can’t be really real and raw. I love it! Within the industry now, there’s a lot of mandates to hire women and for diversity, which is amazing because that wasn’t there ten years ago. They went into this season with an eye to hire as many women as possible and to represent diversity, and then they started interviewing people and wound up with more than half, and then more than three-quarters, and then decided to do it all. Those women ended up being the best people for the job. I can’t wait for it to be totally commonplace and not that crazy.
On working with Janet McTeer: Oh, my god, it’s heaven! I love her! I absolutely worship her! She is so fierce and so smart. She’s one of the most exciting actresses I’ve ever worked opposite. Sometimes she’s super adorable and I’d ask myself, “Am I in love with Janet McTeer?” We had a great time together. We needed a heavyweight actor, after David Tennant in Season 1, and she is that, let me tell you.
[From Collider]
The rest of the interview deals much more with the show’s plot and characters. I’m wondering what Krysten is referring too when she said, “it’s never been done before,” because Queen Sugar’s hired women directors exclusively for their second season. Maybe she meant in the superhero or comic genre. But I agree with her, given the subject matter and the baggage the women in JJ are carrying, a female director’s perspective would help immensely, particularly conflict resolution, which I don’t think season one handled well. I also like that Krysten reiterated that the women were hired not just as a diversity push but because they were also the best for the job.
You can read Colliders review of the new season here. It has season one spoilers. I didn’t watch The Defenders but Collider said that’s not a problem to get into JJ season two, it largely ignores her part in The Defenders. Janet McTeer’s role is being kept hush-hush, she hasn’t been named and she’s not giving anything up in her interviews. She’s the bad guy, right? She has to be the bad guy. Or the good guy who did Jessica wrong. Or Jessica’s abandoned childhood dog back in human form. Or – I honestly don’t care, I’d watch Janet play anything, I can’t wait to find out who she is in this. Season two starts streaming tomorrow on Netflix.
