I do not find the act of waking up in the morning to be gentle or peaceful in any way. Rather, the sound of my alarm sets in motion a somewhat tragic sequence in which I revolt at the very idea of consciousness and grapple with processing my surroundings as alertness ramps up, regretfully. The guttural shock of the wakening plays out in true Groundhog Day fashion, as if each morning were the first morning. This all sounds exceedingly negative and I used to beat myself up about it until I better understood that there legitimately are morning and night people and that most of the world operates on morning people hours. Hey world, stop trying to fit my square peg in the round hole of am hours!! All that preamble to discuss a new interview with Miley Cyrus where she says she swings both ways, identifying as both a morning and night person. So? she?s an awake person. But she readily admits that she leans towards the morning side, and described waking up in the morning with a zeal that I can only dream about.
Miley Cyrus has a zest for life.
In a Wednesday, Sept. 24 interview with Vogue to promote her new Maybelline campaign, the ?Malibu? singer got candid about her sleep schedule.
?I?m a morning person and unfortunately I?m kind of a night person too,? Cyrus, 32, said.
She added, ?If I were one or the other, I?m a morning person. I am in the best mood the second that my eyes are open, and it?s unbearable for anyone else around.?
In the past, Cyrus said, she would get ?frustrated? with her friends who would sleep for too long.
?Now I realize that turning on the way that I do is as hard for them as it is for me to turn off,? she explained.
Though she has a lot of energy in the morning, the ?Flowers? songstress said her coffee is ?an absolute must.?
?Today I?m a weirdo that did a cold brew and used regular, degular milk, no special processed thing from the tree. It is just from a regular old cow,? Cyrus said.
Elsewhere in the interview, she opened up about the joys of organizing different areas of her life.
?I am joyful when I?m organizing and cleaning ? it never feels like a task to me,? the ?Angels Like You? singer told the outlet. ?Everything I do in my life is a little bit intense, but it has to be holistic. And that?s why my eras, they?re not a costume, they?re actually like a metamorphosis or a true evolution for me personally.?
She continued, ?I?ve even gained the name Queen of Pristine because in every corner, every drawer, every friendship, every family dynamic, everything is just getting an upgrade in the cleanup.?

But anyway, yeah, it would be nice to begin the day like Miley, ?in the best mood,? and keep it going throughout so that even housework brings me joy. In Miley?s case, maybe she?s born with it? Which is my flawless segue into her Maybelline campaign! She was just unveiled as their new global spokesperson, and she even wrote a song for it, called ?Maybe It?s.? The song obviously plays with the beauty brand?s longtime slogan ?Maybe it?s Maybelline.? The whole thing is cute! Or maybe I should say ?pristine.?

Have you watched the trailer for Netflix?s The Woman In Cabin 10? I?m including it at the end of the post the film looks enjoyable, a sort of thriller-on-the-sea, starring Keira Knightley. Keira has been doing more work with Netflix, and I think she enjoys the partnership, and enjoys the diversity in projects she?s being offered. When I saw the trailer for this, I was genuinely surprised that Keira is the lead it feels like something they would have offered to Emily Blunt and like ten other actresses before they got to Keira. That?s not a slam, it?s cool to see Keira in this kind of thing. The film costars Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, David Ajala, Daniel Ings. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kaya Scodelario, and David Morrissey.
Last night was the London premiere, and I?m including some photos in this post. Keira wore Erdem, an ochre-colored high-neck dress with some very beautiful floral embroidery. I love the fabric and embroidery, but I find the high neck with the frill much too fussy. I also don?t really get the double-belt situation. I dig her boots though. Bring back that style the pretty high-feminine dress with sh-tkicker boots.
I actually love when Aussie Guy Pearce does a posh British accent and plays someone really haughty, evil and rich. He?s very good at it.

During Rihanna?s first pregnancy, I remember how her fans were absolutely convinced that she was expecting a girl. It felt certain for everyone: of course Rihanna was going to have a daughter, it was obvious. Then she gave birth to RZA in 2022, her first son. Her second son, Riot, followed in 2023. Rihanna was a boy mom after all, and she completely adores her two sons. But she and ASAP Rocky decided that they weren?t done with RZA and Riot. No, they still wanted to go for the girl. Well, it happened! Rihanna welcomed her daughter Rocki Irish Mayers on September 13th.

Since her divorce, the Duchess of York will basically go to any event that pays her. She turns up at some of the most random-ass red carpets and events I?ve ever seen, still, to this day. Besides those paid gigs, Sarah is still the patron of many charities, and to her credit, she?s always shown up for those charities too. She?s shown up more often than many ?working royals,? let?s say that. Well, no more. Over the weekend, the Mail revealed that Sarah Ferguson sent an apology email to Jeffrey Epstein in 2011. The backstory: in 2010, Epstein gave Sarah a lot of money, she gladly accepted the money, then people found out she accepted the huge sum from a convicted pedophile, so she issued a public apology about it. All of that has been well-known for years. What people didn?t know was that following her public apology, Epstein threatened to sue her, so she sent him a sugary apology email, pledging her friendship to him forever. In the 48 hours after the Mail published the email, seven charities dropped Fergie as their patron.
Seven charities have dropped the Duchess of York as a patron or ambassador after an email from 2011 emerged in which she called sex offender Jeffrey Epstein her supreme friend and seemed to apologise for her public criticism of him.
Julias House, a childrens hospice, was the first to remove Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrews ex-wife, saying it was inappropriate for her to continue in the role. The Teenage Cancer Trust, Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Childrens Literacy Charity, National Foundation for Retired Service Animals and Prevent Breast Cancer also announced they had dropped the duchess as patron. The British Heart Foundation said she would no longer be its ambassador.
A spokesperson for the duchess said she was not commenting on the charities decisions.
It comes after the Mail on Sunday and Sun newspapers published a 2011 email from the duchess to Epstein, which appears to have been sent after she had publicly claimed to have broken off contact with him. In the email, she appeared to privately apologise for her public rejection of Epstein, saying: You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.
That seemed to contradict her public denunciation of Epstein in an interview earlier that year, in which she had said her involvement with him had been a gigantic error of judgement and that: What he did was wrong and for which he was rightly jailed.
A spokesperson for the duchess said her subsequent email to Epstein, describing him as a friend, had been sent because she was trying to counter a threat from him to sue her for defamation and that she still really regretted any association with him.

As many have pointed out, it feels like Fergie is being targeted. I?m not saying that what she did was no biggie, but you have to keep in mind, we?ve barely scratched the surface of both Fergie and Andrew?s connections with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Literally writing ?You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me? in black-and-white to a convicted pedophile will take down most public figures, I just didn?t think it would happen to Fergie before it happened to Prince Andrew or Donald Trump. But yeah, this has the feel of Buckingham Palace tossing Fergie right under the bus. Is this? King Charles?s housecleaning? Settling old scores, future-planning, taking care of some final business?

One of things I?m most excited about for After the Hunt?s promotion is seeing more of Chloe Sevigny and Julia Roberts? interactions and conversations. Julia is seven years older than Chloe (57 and 50, respectively) but they?ve both been around for decades, and both are iconic in completely different ways. Chloe is so art-house and offbeat, and Julia is still, however improbably, America?s sweetheart. Julia and Chloe don?t mingle in the same circles and they never even said two words to each other before they met for After the Hunt. Well, here?s something surprising: apparently, they love each other? Like, they get along really well, and Julia was thrilled and nervous to meet Chloe. And Chloe is a big Julia Roberts fan? From the most recent Variety cover story:
Sevigny: Can I say when we left, I needed more Julia. On the plane ride home, I watched, like, three of your movies. I just wanted more!
Variety: Which three?
Sevigny: ?Notting Hill,? ?My Best Friend?s Wedding? and I can?t remember the third. But I was like, ?I just want more Julia!?
Roberts: [Actually tears up.] I am so glad this is being recorded.
Sevigny: I was like, ?I?m not ready to say goodbye.? Luckily there?s a whole canon I can go home and keep watching.
Sevigny on feeling close to Julia: I mean, I felt close to her the first time I met her. But she invited us to her home for rehearsals, and we stayed in her beach house. And she was just very giving and generous.
Roberts on meeting Chloe: I was so excited and intimidated about meeting Chlo. And when we were at my house, we?re all sitting around the kitchen table, and Hazel was making herself some lunch, and we?re talking about the material and rehearsing. Allan [Mandelbaum], our producer, he came in, and he goes, ?Chlo should just be here in a couple minutes.? And I look up, and Ayo looks up, and we match eyes. Luca goes, ?What?? And I go, ?I?m scared.? And Ayo goes, ?Me too.? And Hazel goes, ?I?m leaving.? And then, like a minute later, the doorbell rang, and Hazel goes, ?I?m leaving through the garage.? And truly we were so excited and intimidated.

It?s not that I thought Chloe and Julia would hate each other on sight, it?s that I thought Chloe would approach Julia with an eyeroll, like, oh, whatever, a movie star! Chloe has softened though, and she?s also having some kind of career renaissance. I think it?s more like she?s gotten to the age where she can just do full-time supporting roles and character work (which is great!). Anyway, I think it?s really cool that Julia and Chloe like each other now. They?re friends! Chloe stayed at Julia?s beach house! Crazy world.

Angelina Jolie was in Italy over the weekend for the San Sebastian Film Festival. She premiered her latest film, Alice Winocour?s Couture, and Angelina will also receive the festival?s Donostia Award, which is sort of a lifetime achievement award. While Angelina?s film festival appearances always make news, this time, Jolie is making news for something she said during the press conference. She was asked about the state of America at this time, especially as an American artist.
Oscar-winning actor Angelina Jolie, who is at Spain?s San Sebastin Film Festival with Alice Winocour?s ?Couture,? was asked a timely question at the festival?s press conference: What do you fear as an artist and an American? The actor sighed deeply and took a few moments to answer before saying, ?It is a very difficult question.?
?I love my country, but at this time, I don?t recognize my country,? said Jolie. ?I?ve always lived internationally, my family is international, my friends, my life? My worldview is equal, united, and international. Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous. These are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually. These are very, very heavy times we are living in together,? concluded the actor.
It?s important to note that Jolie?s comment on freedom of expression comes just days after Disney?s ABC took Jimmy Kimmel?s popular late-night show off its schedule ?indefinitely.? The decision came after one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the U.S., Nexstar Media, said it intended to preempt airings of the program following remarks the host made about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

One day, we?re just looking around and wondering when everything changed. It changed in 2016, btw. When a minority of American voters got that orange demon in office. Nothing has ever been the same since then. Angelina is lucky in a sense she has other places to go and the means to take her family out of America. Reportedly, Angelina is waiting until her twins turn 18 and finish high school (next year) to move out of America permanently. Reportedly, she?s looking to move to the UK, but she also has a home in Cambodia and she does a lot of work in Ethiopia and Namibia.

Amanda Seyfried?s new movie The Testament of Ann Lee came out of the Venice Film Festival with a lot of momentum, for both the film itself and Amanda?s performance. Mona Fastvold directed the film from a script she co-wrote with her real life partner Brady Corbet, making this movie complementary to last year?s The Brutalist which they also co-wrote, and Corbet directed. Ann Lee follows the titular character, a real woman from the 1700s who founded the Shaker religious sect in America. Fastvold makes a point, though, of saying that the movie is ?inspired by? the real Ann?s life, as opposed to a straight up biopic. The film includes a lot of the Shaker?s signature singing and dancing, often described as ?ecstatic,? making the project an excellent showcase for Amanda. Not to get all Marlon Brando about it, but she could be a real contender during awards season. And while many actors in her heels have trotted out the campaign talking point of the physical transformation/sacrifice of a role, Amanda has been citing one very 21st century luxury she had to do without: Botox.
At the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her film The Testament of Ann Lee on Tuesday, Sept. 9, the actress, 39, opened up about giving up Botox and makeup for her role as Ann Lee, the founder of the Shakers.
In speaking with Etalk on the red carpet, Seyfried said that the ?sacrifice? was well worth it.
?I?m an actor and that?s my job and that?s what I love to do,? she told the outlet. ?I don?t necessarily need all that in my life. I just like it. The things that I like, I can sacrifice a little. Of course I can.?
She added, ?We did make sacrifices, and it was worth it. Every day was fun. We didn?t just survive, we thrived.?
The actress previously spoke about forgoing Botox as part of director Mona Fastvold?s no-makeup rule for The Testament of Ann Lee in an interview with Vanity Fair published on Aug. 26.
?I couldn?t get Botox for a year,? she told the magazine. ?That was a big assignment? When I first got [Botox], I was, like, ?This is amazing,? because I frown a lot. But then it all came back in a way that was absolutely necessary for all the work I was doing.?
The Testament of Ann Lee had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on Monday, Sept. 1. The historical musical drama earned a 15-minute standing ovation after the screening ? the longest of any film at this year?s event, surpassing the 13 minutes of applause given to Guillermo del Toro?s Frankenstein.
In video footage shared by Variety, Seyfried was captured getting emotional at the ovation as she gazed around in awe at her colleagues, including director/co-writer Fastvold.
Per a synopsis from the festival, The Testament of Ann Lee is ?an epic fable inspired by the life of Ann Lee, the founder of the Shakers, a radical religious movement that began in the late 1700s.?

And then, by contrast, we have Amanda Seyfried, proudly stepping up to the mic and declaring, ?I gave up Botox, you guys!? I love her for this! Genuinely, I?m not being sarcastic or facetious at all! (I know sometimes it can be hard to tell?) This is what I?ve always enjoyed about Amanda: she is never too cool for school. And in Testament she still gets to show off her singing and dancing chops, only she?s traded flying monkeys for, according to Fastvold, ?the best prosthetics we could possibly get for birthing vaginas.? Well, that?s me sold.

Here are photos from the London premiere of Paul Thomas Anderson?s One Battle After Another. Leonardo DiCaprio stars alongside Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti. Chase plays Leo?s character?s daughter. Leo is singing Chase?s praises, and he also enjoyed working with Teyana. I?m interested in seeing what PTA and Leo have done together Paul is only five years older than Leo? They?re basically the same generation, weird.
Anyway, I was first struck by how good Leo looks in these photos. He looks well-rested, fit, younger. His hair also looks fuller than it has in recent years? Is it the hair dye or something else? Did Leo go to Turkey???
Fashion notes: Chase Infiniti wore Iris Van Herpen, which is stunning on her. Teyana also went for a bold look in Oude Waag Fall 2025. I actually love the futuristic/Dune vibe of this, but I kind of wish she skipped the fabric piece around her face. It looks like that Skims ?face shapewear? which garnered so much criticism several months ago. Maya Rudolph (PTA?s wife) wore a terribly unflattering Bode dress. Neelam Gill also turned up at the premiere a few years ago, there were many rumors flying around that Leo and Neelam were dating. I think she?s with one of Leo?s close friends though, but that might have been a cover story.

And the release arrives not a moment too soon! Parties that could include attending Mariah?s newly-announced Christmastime residency at the Park MGM in Las Vegas. There will be 10 shows between November 28 and December 13, and tickets go on sale Saturday. Unless you have access to the presale which starts? in just a few hours.
The Lambily has just one thing they need for Christmas, and Mariah Carey is delivering. The Queen of Christmas announced that she?ll be bringing her holiday show, Mariah Carey?s Christmastime in Vegas, to the Dolby Live at MGM.

Her run of 10 Christmas-themed shows kicks off the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, Nov. 28, and runs through Dec. 13. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. PT. Ticket presales will be available to MGM Rewards members and Live Nation and Ticketmaster customers; presale begins Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. PT. These shows come after the singer?s The Celebration of Mimi Live in Las Vegas residencies in 2024 and 2025.
The celebrated vocalist boasts 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s to date, with her holiday classic, ?All I Want for Christmas Is You,? being among them. The carol, which has ruled the chart during the holiday season since 2017, snagged four straight weeks at the all-genre chart?s summit in 2024, bringing its total week at the top to 18 so far.
MTV recently celebrated Carey?s long-running career at the Video Music Awards, when the network honored her with the Video Vanguard Award on Sept. 7.
