I?ll admit it, I?m slightly interested in Kim Kardashian?s SKIMS line. SKIMS used to be called ?Kimono? but Kim changed the name after the outcry. SKIMS is probably one of Kim?s most successful businesses people are always interested in shapewear in an assortment of colors, and Kim?s label is apparently selling well. So well that she?s expanded the line to include maternity shapewear. I saw some of the outcry online over the weekend, but I wondered if it was being overblown because it simply involved Kim Kardashian? I mean, shapewear isn?t only about ?looking thin,? it?s also about creating clean lines and maybe pregnant ladies want to contain and support things, you never know. Of course, people had a lot to say:
Kim Kardashians new Skims maternity range hasnt even hit the shelves, and its already causing controversy. On Saturday, the reality star announced upcoming the launch of the range of shapewear she created specifically for pregnant women on social media, writing: What you?ve been waiting for: @SKIMS Maternity is coming soon! Introducing Maternity Solutionwear that offers the best in comfort and support for your changing body during and after pregnancy.
Kardashian proceeded to give fans a glimpse at the lineup of sculpting bras, underwear, and bodysuits on her Instagram Stories. ?If only there were cute bras that were holding you up and snatching you and making you feel better about yourself while you can breastfeed, that would have been everything to me,? she said in one clip, while in another video she described the brands high-waisted briefs, assuring her followers that its belly thinness fabric wouldnt compress the stomach, but would shape everything else around it ? including the booty.
Shortly after the announcement, the new collection was met with criticism. Many people accused Kim of sending the wrong message to pregnant women about their changing bodies, pressuring them to stay thin. Just let people enjoy their pregnancy without thinking they need to maintain the perfect figure, wrote one user on Twitter, while another commented: Excuse my ignorance but who?s tryna shape their pregnant bodies? Y?all don?t like being comfy and free and loose when pregnant? It?s pretty much the only time you can be as shapeless and free and comfy as you want!?

Again, Kim didn?t invent shapewear for pregnant ladies. That already existed. She?s just adding a maternity line to her already successful line of shapewear, and she seems to have taken into account that women who have recently given birth might want to wear them too. I remember Jessica Alba talking about how she wore shapewear and corsets after she gave birth, for what it?s worth. Anyway, Kim responded to the criticism:
To anyone who has an issue with maternity solutionwear, and if you havent been pregnant before you may not know the struggle of what its like carrying all of this weight the way I did along with millions of strong women, @skims maternity line is not to slim but to support. The belly part doesnt slim your belly. Its actually sheer and a thinner layered material compared to the rest of the garment. It provides support to help with the uncomfortable weight being carried in your stomach which affects your lower back -and the compression on the leggings helps with pain relief caused by swelling.
We launched this category in response to the tens of thousands of pregnant women who wrote us requesting it and because it was something I personally needed when I was pregnant myself. Based on the majority of positive feedback we have received so far from pregnant women around the world, I am incredibly proud to provide a solution that will provide comfort and support during the times that we all need it most, during pregnancy and after.

Yeah, I believe her. I think she created the line because many women asked for it, and because Kim remembered how uncomfortable she was during her pregnancies too. She?s not doing, like, waist-trainers (which are just corsets) for pregnant women. She?s just trying to sell actual support garments, and stuff pregnant women might want to wear under their dresses.
Jameela Jamil and Chrissy Teigen both chimed in, because of course they did. Jameela is anti-Kardashian no matter what, and Chrissy posted a video of herself wearing the maternity shapewear.

Matt Smith?s appeal, to me, is comparable to Benedict Cumberbatch?s appeal. They are objectively weird-looking and not-traditionally handsome dudes, and yet something about their talent and the way they carry themselves is very sexy and appealing. Matt Smith seems more like a ?ladies? man? than Benedict though Matt seems to have a series of on-set love affairs which turned into real relationships. He had a years-long, serious, live-in relationship with Lily James, and it ended last year at some point, amid rumors that he was quite close (perhaps even romantically involved) with his Crown costar Claire Foy (who had recently split with her partner). Now it looks like he might be involved with another former costar: Emilia Clarke. Damn!
The Crown met The Throne as stars of two of the biggest international TV hits enjoyed a night out together in London. Matt Smith, who played Prince Philip in The Crown, spent the evening with Emilia Clarke, Princess Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, sparking speculation of romance.
The pair ? who appeared together in the 2015 movie Terminator: Genisys ? were all smiles as they sauntered through Soho together on Friday night after enjoying dinner at the Russian-inspired Bob Bob Ricard restaurant. He split from actress Lily James nine months ago, having previously dated model Daisy Lowe, the daughter of rock star Gavin Rossdale.

I think it?s possible that Matt and Emilia are happening as far as I know, she?s single following her split with Charlie McDowall last year (Charlie is also Rooney Mara?s ex, Rooney dumped him for Joaquin Phoenix). Matt is single too, if we believe that his thing with Claire Foy was just a friendship which may have briefly gotten way too close. I?ve also long believed that the British acting world is just super-small and they all date one another at some point. Of course, Matt and Emilia could just be friends. Who knows. But I wouldn?t hate them together!

I have no idea how long Katie Holmes has been doing *something* with Emilio Vitolo, but the public part of their romance was only revealed less than two weeks ago. That was when we saw Katie out on a flirty date with Emilio, drinking wine and laughing and looking quite happy. Within the next few days, there were other dates and other photos, this time of Katie sitting in Emilio?s lap, and lots of kissing/affectionate photos. I think most of us were like ?nice, good for her.? But then last week, the Daily Mail had an exclusive: Emilio had a live-in fiancee whom he dumped just as the photos with Katie Holmes were being published. It was a mess! And now it?s even worse: People Magazine has picked up the story!
Katie Holmes new rumored beau was engaged just weeks before the two were first seen together. Holmes, 41, was first spotted enjoying a date with N.Y.C.-based chef and restaurant owner Emilio Vitolo, 33, early this month, with two more sightings coming quickly after. The two were most recently spotted kissing on the street in New York City, with both bringing their face masks down momentarily to share a sweet kiss. The happy duo was also seen laughing and smiling together during the sighting.
Their outings come just weeks after Vitolo was seemingly engaged to designer Rachel Emmons. A source tells PEOPLE the two were still together days before Holmes was first seen out with the chef.
In mid-August, Emilio and Rachel were still engaged and living together, the source says. He broke off the engagement abruptly the second Katie showed some interest. Rachel is shocked. They were planning a wedding and their future together. Its like she never knew Emilio. They havent had any contact since he broke up with her.
Emmons also posted loved-up pictures on her Instagram before the sighting. The designer most recently posted with the chef on July 27, showing off a gorgeous sunset behind the couple as they sat in a boat. The day before, Emmons once again posted with Vitolo, this time in a restaurant with the chef leaning in close to her and smiling widely for the picture. Vitolo left a comment full of red hearts on the July 26 post. According to Emmons Instagram, the pair seem to have gotten engaged in February 2019, with the designer showing off her ring in a sweet selfie of the two smiling.

Wedding planning was on just two months later when Emmons posted a shot of wedding gowns at a Monique Lhuillier Bride store. In July that year, Emmons posted a shot of her wearing a jean jacket with the words Mrs. Vitolo on the back. Its unclear when the couple called off their engagement, as Vitolo was first seen with Holmes on Sept. 1.

You know the sh-t has hit the fan when People Magazine picks up a story introduced by the Daily Mail. And why not? While People Mag is on Katie Holmes? side simply because she?s the biggest name in this love catastrophe, they?re not taking any bold stand by simply reporting the weirdness around the timeline. Plus: jilted, photogenic fiancees sell magazines too! Anyway, I have no idea what Katie knew then or what she knows now. I think we?ve seen before that she can sometimes get dickmatized and I hope this is a quick wakeup call that Emilio seems like a massive douche.
PS? I looked at Rachel?s Instagram and it appears as if she?s already scrubbed every post about Emilio and their engagement. Hm!

Even though the pandemic is still raging in large swaths of the world, the past few weeks have seen people attempt to go back to some kind of normalcy. The NBA Bubble has been largely successful, as was the New York bubble for the US Open. The Venice Film Festival became the first major film festival to try to do some kind of ?business as usual? they held actual premieres, with people, and did real red carpets. I?m not aware of a spike in coronavirus cases in Venice, so everything seemed to go pretty well, although obviously, there weren?t tons of people there. The festival gave out their awards on Saturday Chlo Zhao?s Nomadland won the Golden Lion. You can see the other award winners here.
For the final ceremony, jury president Cate Blanchett went all-out in this striking Armani look. The red bodice combined with the multicolor ikat sheer poncho/cape wow. I?ve really enjoyed Cate?s fashion recycling, but I appreciate that she?s thrown in a couple of new-to-us looks, and this was the show-stopper for the final night. Well done!
Bonus: Vanessa Kirby in a simple, sleek black gown and a red lip. I?m a big fan of Kirby but I feel like her red carpet styling just needs a little something extra? But in a pandemic, this is more than fine.
