In a move that could only be pulled off by Kim Kardashian, the reality star turned a mundane trip to the DMV into a full-blown beauty session. In the latest episode of Hulus The Kardashians, Kim arrived at a California DMV in her $450 Balenciaga pedicure flip-flops, a sleeveless black mock-neck top, and an oversized []

| Vanna White hasn't had a pay raise in 18 years, she's negotiating her contract now | Added 339 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

While I can?t stand Wheel of Fortune, millions of Americans watch the show and most of those Americans love Vanna White. I?m one of those people I love Vanna White. She probably has one of the highest Q-scores on television, she?s an American institution, she?s unproblematic and naturally glamorous and she seems like an incredibly normal person. Vanna White?s job is co-hosting the show and touching the letter blocks as she struts back and forth on the stage. She?s non-judgemental and supportive of all the contestants. While it?s not a difficult gig, Vanna White has owned that stage since 1982, which is when she was selected as the permanent hostess. Well, Pat Sajak is finally retiring after forty years as the main host of WoF, which led Puck to do some reporting on whether Vanna is staying. As it turns out, Vanna wants to stay and she?s currently trying to negotiate a new contract? with a pay raise. Because Vanna hasn?t had a pay raise in 18 years!!! From Puck:
Vanna White Would Like a Raise: The longtime ?Wheel of Fortune? co-host hasn?t had a pay increase in 18 years. Yes, 18 years. And now, with Pat Sajak leaving, she?s hired an aggressive new lawyer and is finally asking for more.
After I wrote about Wheel of Fortune on Sunday and the impending retirement of host Pat Sajak, a Sony TV source reached out to note one thing I missed: Vanna White, Sajak?s co-host for four decades, is negotiating to continue on Wheel beyond when her deal ends at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. I?ve since confirmed that fact, and it led me down a wild path about ?America?s Game? and what?s going on behind the scenes.
White currently makes about $3 million a year for her duties on the syndicated Wheel, per multiple sources. Sajak makes almost five times as much.
?There?s no real comp for what Vanna does, which means she?s not exactly Jennifer Lawrence or Michelle Williams when it comes to shining examples of pay disparity in Hollywood.
But? that?s a pretty shortsighted way of assessing value, in my opinion. White spends the same time on set as Sajak?more, actually, due to hair, makeup, and wardrobe obligations, my Sony TV source noted. She does way more publicity for the show than Sajak. She?s a personality, part of the show?s look, feel, and, let?s be frank, appeal. Her enthusiasm and silly button segments with Sajak at the end of each episode are fan favorites. And at this point, she?s arguably become more associated with Wheel of Fortune than Sajak is. The duo are in all the Wheel marketing together (unlike the late-night shows), and Sony?s own research shows Vanna?s appeal to women helps drive the show?s older, female viewership. In short, she arguably adds just as much value.
[From Puck]
While $3 million per year is nothing to sniff at, it?s bonkers that is her salary after being on the show for FORTY YEARS. As I said, Vanna White is an American institution. She?s extremely popular, she never does or says anything problematic, she?s beloved by viewers and contestants, and (I suspect) advertisers love her. To not get a pay raise for 18 years? well, I hope she?s hired the best agents and lawyers and gets a big pay raise and a rock solid contract extension. Now that Ryan Seacrest is on board to replace Pat Sajak, I kind of hope theyre setting things up for Seacrest to play second fiddle to Vanna. Seacrest will hate that.

Taylor Swifts fan base is one of the most passionate fan communities out there. Taylor plays into this with all her Easter eggs, encouraging her fans to pay attention to every tiny detail. Having a fan base so devoted comes with a dark side, as we have seen in recent years. Fans have called in death threats to Taylors enemies at Big Machine and The Kid Mero, and as far as I know she doesnt usually intervene or ask them to stop doing this stuff. So this might be something of a first. Ahead of the re-release of her third album, Speak Now, Taylors asking fans not to harass one of that albums main muses: John Mayer. Kind of. She didnt address him directly, but if youre in the know, its not hard to figure out who shes talking about.
She never said his name, but Taylor Swift asked fans not to attack ex-boyfriend John Mayer when she releases her version of the album Speak Now?which contains the song ?Dear John??next month.
?I?m 33 years old. I don?t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19,? she said during a concert in Minneapolis on Saturday night.
?I?m not putting this album out so that you can go and should feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.?
Swift was 19 when she briefly dated Mayer, who was 12 years older than her?and fans have long been convinced the scorching track is about him and their breakup.
[From The Daily Beast]
There is no doubt the song is about John Mayer. Everything about it points to him, down to the fact that the guitar lick in it sounds just like him. I also think that whatever she says to the contrary, she has some residual bitterness toward him. On the extended edition of her latest record, Midnights, she released a song called Wouldve Couldve Shouldve that is also believed to be about John, since it references her dancing with the devil at nineteen. (If you arent well-versed in her lyrics just trust me on this.) I have to be honest and admit that Wouldve Couldve Shouldve is my favorite song Taylor has ever done. For one thing, Aaron Dessner produced it and it is so much better than her work with Jack Antonoff. For another, I experienced a traumatic event at nineteen that triggered a religious crisis just like she sings about, so the song maps onto my own life in a way thats downright spooky. Anyway in it she sings, I cant let this go/I fight with you in my sleep/The wound wont close/I keep on waiting for a sign. Those dont sound like the words of someone who has resolved their anger, just saying. Maybe she wrote the song years ago, but she also knew her fans would make the connections to Dear John. Theyre right there. I noticed them on my first listen. I think John is a sleazebag but I also think Taylors fans frequently take things too far. Heres what I wonder: if the Swifties go after him after all, is she going to say anything then? Or is she going to let it happen? My gut tells me its too little, too late for Taylor to speak up about this now.

| Harrison Ford, 80, isn't retiring: 'I don't do well when I don't have work' | Added 340 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I enjoy the wording of Chris Wallace?s current show, because Who?s Talking to Chris Wallace? can have many readings, and mine is always, ?Is anyone actually talking to him?? After his woefully inadequate moderating of the first presidential debate in 2020, I thought he was going to be encouraged into retirement (hell be 76 this year). Instead he has his own show, where this weekend he hosted Harrison Ford?on the promotional trail for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, opening in theaters this Friday?and pestered Ford (who will be 81 next month) about his retirement:
Harrison Ford simply isn?t ready to retire from Hollywood.
As Ford appeared on Who?s Talking to Chris Wallace?, the 80-year-old Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny actor told host Chris Wallace, ?I don?t do well when I don?t have work,? when asked whether he?s given retirement any thought.
?I love to work. I love to feel useful. It?s my jones,? Ford, who turns 81 next month, said during the interview. ?I want to be helpful.?
?It is the people that you get to work with,? he continued, when Wallace asked what aspects of making movies he loves. ?The intensity and the intimacy of collaboration. It?s the combined ambition somehow forged from words on a page. I don?t plan what I want to do in a scene, and I don?t feel obliged to do anything. But I am, I guess, naturally affected by the things that I work on.?
Elsewhere in the appearance, Wallace asked Ford about what he meant by saying he desired the new movie to be ?ambitious? in his final turn as Indiana Jones. The actor said he wanted the film to ?confront the question of age straight-on, not to hide my age, but to take advantage of it in the telling of the story.?
?I feel very strongly that it does [pull it off],? he added, before noting: ?It?s time for me to grow up,? as he moves on from the longtime action-adventure franchise.
?Six years ago, I thought maybe we ought to take a shot at making another one. And I wanted it to be about age because I think that rounds out the story that we?ve told and we?ve brought it to the right place,? he said, opining that 2008?s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull did not end with ?a real strong feeling of the conclusion or the closure that I always hoped for.?
?Speaking to this issue of age, not making jokes about it, but making it a real thing,? Ford added of his desire for the new film.
When Ford?who has been filming scenes for the next Captain America movie lately?spoke with PEOPLE recently, he said he has not lost any of his love for the film industry.
?I probably enjoy making movies more now than I ever did,? he said. ?I don?t want to be young again. I was young, and now I enjoy being old.?
[From People]
The whole episode is available now and runs thirty minutes long (although I?d wager that the actual interview time is closer to twenty minutes if you cut out the excessive use of film clips). Wallace starts out with a real winner, when he lobs the following question at Ford: ?Why is it that for fifty years people have wanted to sit in the dark and watch you?? I think that may be the most perfectly-worded question in the history of journalism. Glorious, and matched only when Wallace then asks about Ford retiring, and Ford shoots him a look that essentially says, ?I?m not mad, I?m just disappointed in you.?
Truth be told, I don?t know if I?ve ever seen Harrison Ford be such a range of emotions in such a short time frame. There are moments of giddiness, like when he shares that Christopher Walken was almost Han Solo and nearly shouts ?Which would have been FANTASTIC!?, and moments where he?s weepy, recalling colleagues and mentors who have passed. Clearly, it?s the people he gets to work with that bring him joy and fulfillment in his career, and why he doesn?t want to stop. Why should he? He also gives great credit to writers for why he?s still working so much right now. As for this final installment of Indiana Jones tackling age? I?m sorry, but all I?m seeing in my head when I hear that is the SNL take?like now he?s using the whip to help get him out of bed in the morning. Or the lost artifacts he?s hunting down are his meds. You can tell by the printing on the label that it?s an early Walgreens-era-filled prescription, before its overhaul of the DuaneReade empire? PLEASE someone at SNL write that skit! (Once the writers? terms are met and the strike is over, of course.)

| Kevin Costner intended to file for divorce before Christine Baumgartner?? | Added 341 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Over the weekend, Page Six ran an exclusive about Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner?s divorce, taken from some of Christine?s filings to the court. Christine hired a forensic accountant basically as soon as she decided to file for divorce, and that accountant provided Christine with a detailed summary of just how much money Costner has coming in and how much he?s spending per year. Costner isn?t overextended, but he?s spending way too much money, in my opinion. I suppose the point of filing those financials with the court is to emphasize just how badly Costner intends to screw over Christine if the prenup is upheld. Costner?s spending probably also justifies Christine?s request for $248K a month in child support. Meanwhile, the Sun?s sources now claim that Costner was really mad when Christine served him with divorce papers, because? he intended to file first??
Kevin Costner was stunned when he was given divorce papers ? as he wanted to serve them himself. We can reveal the actor thought he and wife Christine had agreed to have an amicable split. He broke the news of their impending divorce to their three children in a family summit at a restaurant near their 115 million mansion in Montecito, California. But the 68-year-old Bodyguard star was ?blindsided? the next day when Christine, 49, seized the initiative.
A source said: ?Kevin sat his family down, told them he and their mum were getting a divorce and his lawyer was getting the paperwork drawn up. He wanted everything to be peaceful for the sake of his kids and told Christine he didn?t want a messy divorce because he?d already been through one. Then first thing the next morning, boom, Christine sneak attacks him and serves him with her own set of divorce papers. Kevin was so shocked. Christine has since made him look terrible, and has continued to do so.?
She has claimed her husband ? worth 200million ? told their kids they were divorcing in a ten-minute Zoom call.
[From The Sun]
Yeah, Christine told the court that Costner told the kids on a Zoom call from Las Vegas, and now he?s trying to say that he did it in person the day before Christine filed? I don?t believe it, any of it. When Christine filed, he was not acting like a man eager to go through another divorce. His team was doing furious damage control and publicly pleading for Christine to change her mind. Even if Christine and Kevin had spoken about a separation before she filed, it?s not like she could have arranged everything last minute as a way to surprise Costner she clearly planned out everything, hired the forensic accountant, hired the divorce lawyer and had all of her ducks in a row. This is clearly Costners bruised ego. Hell hath no fury like a man whose wife charged a forensic accountant and divorce lawyer to his credit card.

| Sarah Jessica Parker explains why Carrie Bradshaw never wore nail polish | Added 343 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Sarah Jessica Parker is in promotional mode, hyping the new season of And Just Like That. These are photos of SJP lighting up the Empire State Building, a fun gig that some actors get to do as part of some promotional tours. Notice SJP?s hands, or more specifically, her fingernails. Unpolished! I?ve never really noticed it before now, but SJP is pretty polish-adverse in her real life and in character. Apparently, Carrie Bradshaw rarely wears nail polish, and that?s by design. Glamour spoke to SJP about Carrie?s bare nails, and Sarah Jessica had a big explanation:
For one, she says, ?Carries a writer, so she would have been typing originally on a proper typewriter. She would have learned typing in high school, and she was a practical writer and a necessary writer and a romantic writer.?
She goes on to say that manicures for Carrie ?seemed (a) futile because it would always be messed up and (b) an obstacle on the speedy road toward thoughts being written.? While Parker adds that doesnt mean that other writers dont or cant type beautifully or easily with nails, ?it just never seemed that it was where Carrie would spend her time expressing herself.?
Executive producer Michael Patrick King agrees. ?Anything that Carrie wears that you see on camera is well thought-out by the wardrobe department and Sarah Jessica,? he tells me. ?She really tries to play both sides, the high and the low, the real and the fantasy. So notably, she never wears nail polish.?
Another reason for Carries bare nail look is time management as well as episode continuity. Aside from being the star of SATC and AJLT, Parker is busy serving as an executive producer. Shes also heavily involved in Carries looks and therefore in constant fittings with costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, leaving little time to spend in a manicure chair.
?We also dont shoot in order,? Parker explains. ?Youre moving from scene to scene, so practically speaking, its problematic to have a nail color thats got to match every single scene. It gets in the way of speed and economy.?
[From Glamour]
The continuity issue is something I understand it would be a pain in the ass to take the time to coordinate nail polish to outfits, and then have to switch up the polish day to day depending on what scenes you?re shooting out of sequence. But the idea that writers wouldn?t wear polish? Nah. Plenty of women work with their hands AND wear polish. I admire those women, because I am not one of them. I also prefer bare nails, but I have a completely different and practical reason: my nails grow fast and I hate the look of polished nails growing out. Plus, I?ve always enjoyed the sort of natural ?French tip? look of my long, bare nails. As someone who types for hours every day, my only thing is that I can?t keep my nails too long. Which is why I keep a nail file in my desk!
