The fact that Lea Michele is the headliner for this post tells you all you need to know about the turnout for the Billboard Music Awards, which I DVRed but didn’t bother to watch. Kaiser took one for the team and watched the first hour, which is surely longer than it took most people to tune out. Lea Michele was there because she’s aiming for a music career too of course, and she was in this black David Koma dress with see-through diagonal panels and what look like granny panties underneath. Something nice: this is Lea Michele, it could have been worse, and I like the double neckline that’s unique. The rest of the look is not working for me, her earrings are fug, the dress is not cute and I really dislike her topknot. At least she wore this to the Billboard Music Awards though, where it looks… fitting I’ll say.
Here’s Hailee Steinfeld, also an actress working on a music career, although I would say she’s a more accomplished actress after seeing her in The Edge of Seventeen, which I loved. Her metallic David Koma dress has a similar concept to Lea’s in that it has patterned see-through panels and large undergarments underneath. I like it slightly more and find it a little more contemporary, but a lot of that may be due to the wearer rather than the specific look. Those giant silver shapes look like ghosts or amoebas or something.
If you thought Lea and Hailee’s dresses were fug, wait until you get a load of Rita Ora. She was wearing Francesco Sconamiglio, whom I’ve never heard of before and for good reason. The top is bedazzled Dynasty and the bottom is Frederick’s of Hollywood. I’ll spare you the back view but she’s wearing a very high thong under there. Only Rita Ora could wear this and have that expression.
Camila Cabello wore a red lace and beaded Jonathan Simkhai gown with a matching wrap. I would say this is a very one note dress but compared to the other looks here it’s not bad. She looks like Selena Gomez a little, right?
And Halsey was in Sergio Hudson & Juun.J. This is basically a fancy bra with a skirt designed to look like a trench coat and she paired it with very extreme gladiator sandals. She’s working this somewhat and I like that she wore big hoop earrings that match the rings in her bra. Maybe the top would work better if she had on a little white t-shirt though, the bra part feels like overkill and draws your attention away from all the other stuff that’s happening with the outfit.

Olsen knows how to work Cannes, is what I?m saying, and she knows how important it can be to her career. So she came to the premiere of her latest, Wind River, in this jaw-dropping Miu Miu look. This is the ?sexiest? and most vampy she?s ever looked, right? She really brought it. And minus the shoulder pads, this dress is the bomb.

My vote for worst dressed of Cannes might be Elisabeth Moss. She wore this Oscar de la Renta ensemble to the premiere of The Square. WHY? Just no. She?s such a talented actress and you know that she enjoys fashion and styling. Why did they do this to her?
Did someone ask for an explosion at the Ruffle Factory? This is Araya A. Hargate in Zuhair Murad. I love the color and I don?t mind the giant puffy dress. This is why people come to Cannes: to wear giant puffball dresses that make them look like they?re being eaten alive by Ruffle Bacteria.
Liya Kebede in Paco Rabanne. I enjoy a metallic dress and I don?t mind if it?s gold. I also like Liya Kedebe. But? this is not very good, right? This is more of a cute party ensemble rather than a dress for the red carpet of Cannes. Plus, I don?t think gold is her color. A silver or maybe even a bronze would have looked better.

Jenna Dewan Tatum is an actress and dancer. She’s married to Channing Tatum. And, as she recently revealed to People Magazine, she lives on a diet that is sure to make you feel at least a little guilty for whatever you ate this weekend.
The 36-year-old is joining judges Derek Hough, NE-YO and Lopez as the host of the dance reality competition World of Dance – which is produced by Jennifer Lopez. The show, which premieres on NBC on May 30, is offering a $1 million grand prize to the top hoofer. In advance of the show’s premiere, Jenna talked diet and nutrition with People Magazine.
Jenna shared a typical day’s menu and there’s a lot of quinoa and veggies, but no meat. She told the magazine that she exists on a plant-based diet for ethical as well as health reasons, adding, ?We have become so off-balance with our animal consumption. Even one meatless meal a week helps!? As a former full-time vegetarian (in the 90s, before Boca Burgers, Quorn and Beyond Meat, mind you), I’m completely okay with this. But her diet is just so…boring….
That being said, Jenna, who confesses that she loves French fries, says, ?I?m not a fan of dieting, which is why I choose to eat healthy most of the time. I keep it in balance, so I don?t have to crash diet. When I want to splurge I allow myself and don?t beat myself up ? I just make a plan to eat extra healthy the next day or work out.?
I can never relate to the way these actresses eat. Oh, sure, they tell you they eat crappy, but I don’t buy it. Jenna says her favorite food is french fries, but I’m sure on her “cheat day”, she has maybe a handful, then she’s off to work with her personal trainer for an hour and a half. This weekend, I ate wings, a hamburger (with copious amounts of fries) and half a deep dish pizza (not all in one sitting). I will be at the gym every day and eating air and rice cakes for the rest of the week, but somehow I think I’ll end up happier than having a heaping bowl of quinoa and veggies. But, hey, good on you, Jenna. She does get to go home to Channing Tatum every night, so I guess there’s some merit to her dedication to healthy eating.

Kendall Jenner arrived in Cannes and she spent the weekend partying and doing appearances, probably for her modeling contracts. Considering how boring Cannes has been this year, I really don?t mind that a lot of the Instamodels have come out. Someone has to bring the fashion p0rn and discussion-worthy style moments, so why not them? Everyone?s talking about Kendall?s Giambattista Valli Haute Couture look at the 120 Beats Per Minute premiere. This Valli dress is a puzzler to me – when I first saw the photos, I disliked it. But I gave it 24 hours and looked through the other Cannes photos, and now I don?t hate it. I mean, it looks like she?s working a sheet, for sure. But she?s pulling it off, right? Is it weird that I don?t really hate it?
Here?s Kendall Jenner in Ralph & Russo Couture at the Chopard party on Friday night. You know what? I honestly don?t hate this. I think her face looks slightly ?worked on? and I think the dress looks vaguely cheap (if you can get past how boring it is) but she was there to promote jewelry and she did that.
