When Mel B first got together with Stephen Belafonte there were a lot of stories about how shady he was. He reportedly abused the mother of his child and plead guilty on a battery charge for that in 2003. Stephen also had a fine lodged against him for killing a duck with a brick outside his house. Mel married him anyway and we’ve heard rumors several times that they’ve broken up and that he abuses her, which they have both denied and which he likened to a “witch hunt.” They have a five year-old daughter together, Madison, and Mel has two older daughters from other relationships while Stephen has one other daughter. Mel has filed for divorce after ten years and is requesting joint custody and no spousal support to Stephen. Her filing lists December 28th as their separation date.
In divorce papers obtained by PEOPLE, Brown listed the date of separation as December 28 and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Madison Brown Belfonte, 5.
She has also requested to terminate the court?s ability to award spousal support.
Brown and Belafonte, 41, married in 2007 after five months of dating. The two have a blended family ? including daughter Madison, Brown?s daughters Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 9, and Phoenix Chi Gulzar, 17 (from her relationships with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy and ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, respectively), and Giselle Belafonte, 12 (from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Nicole Contreras).

As People points out, Mel posted a photo of Stephen to Instagram just last month with a message about how much she loves him and how they’ve been through so much together. So I would assume that they haven’t been separated since December as her filing states.

I haven?t written about Jennifer Lawrence in two months. And when I did, it was a political-ish story about her reaction to Donald Trump. J-Law has been pretty quiet now for months, ever since she finished promoting Passengers in December. She?s been working in Budapest, and I haven?t missed her at all. In the middle of the awards-season, it actually struck me that this was the first time in years without Jennifer falling all over the place at an awards show. Let me clear: I actually sort of like J-Law and I?m an apologist for her about many things. But she needed to ?go away? for a while and let people miss her.
Something I actually forgot about was the fact that J-Law had started dating Darren Aronofsky last year. They apparently started up late in the summer, and while we haven?t heard much about them in months, they?re still together. They were photographed this week in New York.

Kat Graham is being dragged through the press for photos of her being sick. Kat played Bonnie on Vampire Diaries, whose series finale aired only a few weeks ago. She is also a singer, producer and polyglot. She is not, according to her rep, a drug user. And yet, that is exactly what she is being accused of. Kat was visiting the Two Bunches Palms Resort & Spa in Palm Springs last month. She was spotted eating at a local restaurant when she suddenly got up, went outside, vomited and collapsed. EMTs were called to the scene and eventually took her to the hospital. The reason we are talking about this now is that TMZ was able to secure some photos of a collapsed Kat and printed them with a source claiming that Kat had eaten a pot brownie earlier and was having a bad reaction to it. Kat?s reps got on the horn as soon as they heard and told everyone this is a load of BS, Kat had suffered food poisoning.

TMZhad on Sunday posted photos of the 27-year-old actress appearing unresponsive on grass while being treated by paramedics, saying the pics were taken outside a hotel’s restaurant in Palm Springs, California.
The outlet reportedshe ran out, saying she felt unwell and needed to go to the hospital, then started throwing up, passed out, woke up and was transferred to an ambulance. TMZ quoted sources at the resort as saying the actress had eaten a cannabis brownie earlier in the day.
A rep for Graham toldE! Newsthe story is”100percent not true,” adding that the actress “was eating at a restaurant outside the resort and had a violent reaction to food poisoning.”
“Kat is not a drug user, and has never been a drug user,” the rep added.

I don?t know Kat so I have nothing to go on here. But I was once falsely accused of a term paper ?reeking of pot? when a professor opened it. My roommate and I were both cigarette smokers but neither of us smoked pot and I never had. I ardently argued my innocence but she didn?t buy it and gave me a C for ?the writing being all over the place.? (Ironically the paper was for Psych 101.) So, because I obviously still hold a grudge having never been vindicated, I’m supporting Kat. So much of this story bugs, too. For starters, the pariahs taking and selling the pictures of a person collapsed on the ground. And this dubious ?source? claiming Kat had eaten a cannabis brownie is suspect. The resort has refused to comment on this so this is either a snitch from the staff or some passer-by in which case, how the hell does he/she know what was in the brownie? Baked goods are my number one vice on vacation, maybe she was just getting her confection on? Unless the ?source? shared the brownie with Kat, in which case Kat needs to cull her friend group.
The fact is that the reactions to ingesting cannabis and food poisoning can have the same symptoms, although Kat symptoms coincide more with food poisoning than ingesting too much cannabis. Commonly, food poisoning manifests itself one to two days after ingestion however, it can start within an hour. Like I said, I have no idea what happened but if Kat insists she?s not a drug user, I will too for now. I?m just glad she was treated for whatever it was and feels well enough to start promoting her role as Jada Pinkett in the Tupac film, All Eyez on Me coming out this June.

I feel like I know a celebrity whenever I hear them interviewed on NPR’s Fresh Air. That’s how I feel about Katey Sagal, who told host David Bianculli in 2013 about growing up in LA with a dad who was a director for TV shows and later working as a backup singer for Bette Midler and Bob Dylan. Katey has a new memoir out today called Grace Notes: My Recollections. According to advance details, she had a drug and alcohol dependence she developed in her teens which she struggled with for fifteen years. She also reveals that she had an affair years ago with Gene Simmons, the news of which came out last month. She met him while she was working as a singing waitress as a restaurant, and it all sounds so cinematic. I guess she didn’t reveal much on Fresh Air at all and it sounds like she’s had a very eventful life.
Sagal blames growing up in Los Angeles for an attitude toward drugs that led to a 15-year addiction to diet pills, cocaine and alcohol. ?When I was 12, we lived on the same block as Judy Garland. Her daughter Lorna Luft and I became neighborhood buddies. Lorna?s mom had a lot of pills on her bedside table and slept past noon just like my mom. We hung tight. And, of course, I thought everyone?s mom took a lot of pills.?
Before becoming an actress, Sagal was a singing waitress. ?I could get your order wrong, spill blue cheese dressing on your lap, whisper what an a-hole you were, and then pick up my guitar or go to the piano and sing you an awesome rendition of ?Brown Eyed Girl.??
After being a backup singer for Bette Midler and Etta James, she was approached to audition for ?The Mary Tyler Moore Show.? Her reaction was, ?Are you kidding? I?m not even looking for a job as an actor. I?m a musician!? Sagal recalled. ?Apparently that approach is gold for me.?

How sad to see your mom and your friends’ moms be addicted to pills and basically absent from your life. At least she was able to beat her demons in her late 20s, if my math is correct, and achieve sobriety. Katey has been working steadily in film and on TV since Sons of Anarchy wrapped in 2014. She currently stars on a comedy on CBS called Superior Donuts. She also has a part in the Dirty Dancing TV remake, which is out this May. She plays Vivian Pressman, the older lady who tried to seduce the male staff. That’s a great part for her. She’s such a kickass actress I’m surprised she wasn’t interested in acting at first.

I?m not sure anyone will care about these photos as much as me, but here we go. Elizabeth Olsen was photographed with a ?mystery man? yesterday in New York. Seriously, outlets were calling this guy Mystery Man. No one knew who he was. Even the Daily Mail – an outlet which is pretty good at problem-solving when it comes to romantic mysteries – couldn?t figure out this guy?s identity. It took hours before he was ID?d as Robbie Arnett, a member of the ?cinematic indie pop band? Milo Greene. So? everybody?s sure that Robbie Arnett is Elizabeth Olsen?s boyfriend. Because of the body language, and because of her smile and her awareness of the cameras. This seems like an old-fashioned pap-stroll to announce one?s new boyfriend.
So, why is this notable? To me, it?s interesting because Olsen is so obviously pap-strolling with a boyfriend after making such a big deal about how ?private? she was/is. Remember that? Remember when she and Tom Hiddleston kept playing games about whether they were dating? That was pre-Tiddlebanging. Olsen dumped her boyfriend right around the time she started working with Tom. Then Olsen somehow ended up in Hawaii with Tom while he filmed Kong: Skull Island. Then she and Tom were photographed at dinner in London, and they were seen out together by Twitter-stalkers too. While promoting their film, Tom and Elizabeth played endless are-they-together games and Olsen always said that she likes to keep her private life private.
So, a brand new outlook on being public with a boyfriend? Who knows? Robbie?s cute, btw. He reminds me of a less craggy Ron Livingston.

On Sunday, Cat Deeley went on a Twitter rant. In case you?re about to drop a ?WHO?? on me, stop it. Cat Deeley is the host of So You Think You Can Dance, a show which I?m surprised to learn is still on the air. Its 14th season will air this summer. I guess it?s sort of popular. So now you know who Cat Deeley is. Did you also know that Cat Deeley is one of those people who will take to social media to trash a restaurant after horrendous service? Not only that, she?s also one of those people who will refuse to leave a tip if the service is particularly bad.
Since I don?t want to embed 20 million tweets, let?s just do the basic story. Cat tried to dine out TomGeorge in LA, a place described as a California take on classic Italian cuisine (much like the Olive Garden, BUT FANCIER!). Cat first tweeted: ?The worst featuring! Worst food! As for the manager?????? Moron!!!!!? She followed it up with: ?The most disgusting restaurant , terribly run, by a manager – who can only be described as an amateur. Avoid at all costs. #tomgeorge.? She called it the ?worst restaurant in LA.? On one of her tweets, her waiter tweeted back with a copy of the receipt (literally, he had the receipts!) and a note about how she didn?t tip him:
