| Denzel Washington says his same-sex kiss was cut from Gladiator II | Added 307 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gird your loins, we are now in the final countdown until Gladiator II comes out in exactly one week. The strapping stars were all spiffy at the London premiere on Wednesday including Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Pedro Pascal and Denzel! Not only did Denzel Washington tell King Charles? minions that he wouldnt be rushed away from fans at his own premiere, Denzel did so in sneakers. The gauche American wore sneakers on the red carpet and didn?t scurry away when told to! Clearly the people on Charles? team had not caught the trailer for the film they were about to see, or they would?ve known not to mess with the man who plots the fall of the Roman Empire. And speaking of said empire, Denzel recently spoke with Gayety, a digital LGBTQ-focused magazine, and he was straight up asked ?How gay was the Roman Empire??. Denzel went on to lament that a scene where he kisses a male costar was cut from the final edit:
Denzel Washington revealed that a same-sex he filmed for Gladiator II was but from the final movie.
Speaking with Gayety, the actor, who portrays Macrinus in director Ridley Scott?s sequel to the 2000 blockbuster, said he kissed a male costar for a since-deleted moment. The revelation came after Washington was asked ?how gay? the Roman empire was.
?I actually kissed a man in the film but they took it out. They cut it,? Washington, 69, said. ?I think they got chicken.?
?I kissed a guy full on the lips and they, I guess they weren?t ready for that yet,? he added, before joking that in the sequence he ?killed him about five minutes later? in what he called the ?kiss of death.?
Gladiator II also stars Pedro Pascal and Paul Mescal, who play the characters Acacius and Lucius, respectively. Mescal revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that their forehead kiss didn?t make the final cut either.
The actor, 28, said he and Pascal were rehearsing a fight scene during filming when he ?had an idea? of kissing his costar ?on the forehead? toward the end of the combat.
?I did it in one of the takes, and then we?re getting the radio messages back to Ridley [in video village], and I was like, ?Ridley: Kiss of the forehead, did you like it? Yay or nay?? There was radio silence for a second,? Mescal said. ?His radio crackles back, and [Ridley] goes, ?I?m afraid I did.??
?I think Ridley?s one of the funniest men I?ve ever come across,? he added, revealing that the forehead smooch was eventually scrapped.
[From People]
So not only has Ridley Scott recently insulted actors by saying that they barely have to do any prep work, but now he?s officially been outed for cutting their genius moments of improvisation. The man is a serial kiss-cutter! Seriously, now I?m going to be watching the movie with an eagle eye towards picking up on moments that feel kiss-starved. And it?s not like same-sex relationships aren?t historically accurate for Ancient Rome. I guess yet again, I will have to fill in all the homo-erotic subtext in my head as I?m watching, thanks Ridley. Fingers crossed we get to see all the cut scenes in an extended version somewhere down the line. In the meantime, if you have 3:36 minutes to spare, Denzel?s interview with Gayety is a delight. The interviewer starts out by showing off all the rings she?s wearing as a nod to Denzel?s character, and he is SO excited it?s adorable, even following up with, ?But what about the earrings?!? And while he doesn?t name drop Black Panther again, Denzel does say he?s having conversations with Ryan Coogler, Steve McQueen, and Paul Thomas Anderson about potential upcoming projects. Sounds like there are actually quite a few films left for him to make, after all.

| Sophie Turner is in negotiations to play Lara Croft in Amazon Prime's series | Added 307 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

For years, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has had an extremely lucrative development deal with Amazon Prime, a deal which has yielded next to nothing. One of the reasons why Prime kept pouring money into Waller-Bridge?s coffers (something like $120 million thus far) is because they wanted to eventually get Phoebe to develop a series based on the Lara Croft video game. Lara Croft has been adapted for films notably with Angelina Jolie as Lara, and not so notably with Alicia Vikander in the role and I guess Lara has become the new Spider-Man, in that every generation gets a new one. Well, Waller-Bridge is finally putting it together? with Sophie Turner as Lara.
Sophie Turner is in negotiations to star as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, Prime Video?s high-profile series adaptation of the video game franchise from Emmy-winning Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, sources tell Deadline. A rep for Amazon MGM Studios declined comment.
As we reported exclusively last month, the Game Of Thrones alumna was among the actresses who tested for the high-profile role, previously played on the big screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Tomb Raider, which Amazon MGM Studios Head Jennifer Salke called ?epic? and ?globe-trotting? while announcing the series order in May, has been a passion project for writer/executive producer Waller-Bridge, who spoke fondly of the title character at the time of the pickup.
?Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can?t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ?n all,? she said in May.
Tomb Raider is executive produced by Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson through dj2 Entertainment, Michael Scheel, and rights holders Legendary Television as well as Crystal Dynamics. Greenblatt and Andolina are consulting producers under their Star Party banner. The series is produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.
Turner, an Emmy nominee for her first major role as Sansa Stark on Game Of Thrones, currently headlines the British crime drama limited series Joan and next stars in another British show, Haven, for Prime Video, home of the Tomb Raider series. She is repped by CAA, Independent Talent, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
[From Deadline]
This would be the first time Lara Croft, a canonically English character, would be played by an English actress. For that alone, I think it?s an interesting choice. I also think Sophie would do a decent-to-good job, although it remains to be seen if she plans to do the stunt work. I honestly think Sophie would play Lara more like Angelina played her arch, playful, badass. Are the fan-boys freaking out? I don?t have a sense of whether Lara Croft is still one of the characters the younger guys care about?

| Sydney Sweeney on 'women supporting women?: 'None of it's happening. All of it is fake' | Added 307 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

As I?ve said before, I like Sydney Sweeney. I think she?s a smart cookie, and I appreciate the fact that she?s not a nepo-baby, and that she?s gotten to the top because of her sheer hustle, drive, talent and work ethic. Sydney is featured on Vanity Fair?s Hollywood Issue cover, and VF did individual profiles of all of their cover stars. She?s now an in-demand producer because of the success of Anyone But You, plus Immaculate. She?s also got Ron Howard?s Eden coming up, and Echo Valley with Julianne Moore. Some highlights from her VF profile:
On her interviews: ?We?re going to have a conversation, we?ll talk for 30 minutes, it?s condensed, then people don?t understand the context behind the conversation, and it?s all clickbait. Unfortunately I don?t get to control my image?my image is in your guys? hands.?
Her work as a producer: ?I love being able to have a seat at the table, have creative say over decisions that would help benefit the project, whether it be the character or budget or time frame, anything that I can do that can help the project succeed. I love to help brainstorm and problem solve because it?s a puzzle?you?re constantly trying to have all these moving pieces put together.
On the strategy to play up affair rumors with Glen Powell: ?Once [Anyone But You] did become a success, a lot of the interviews were just questions about it, so I don?t know if we necessarily were planning on ever talking about the strategy behind any of it. We just had very specific questions and when you say no to a question, people think that you?re a bitch, so?.We definitely are very supportive of each other?s careers. We watch and talk about each other?s projects all the time, or even if we?re both debating between projects, we?ll call each other up and ask for advice. I just saw him last week and we were talking through some projects, so we definitely have a really great working relationship. We would absolutely love to work on something else together.
On a female producer publicly calling her talentless: ?It?s very disheartening to see women tear other women down, especially when women who are successful in other avenues of their industry see younger talent working really hard?hoping to achieve whatever dreams that they may have?and then trying to bash and discredit any work that they?ve done. This entire industry, all people say is ?Women empowering other women.? None of it?s happening. All of it is fake and a front for all the other sh-t that they say behind everyone?s back.?
More on women not supporting women: ?I mean, there?s so many studies and different opinions on the reasoning behind it. I?ve read that our entire lives, we were raised?and it?s a generational problem?to believe only one woman can be at the top.
There?s one woman who can get the man. There?s one woman who can be, I don?t know, anything. So then all the others feel like they have to fight each other or take that one woman down instead of being like, Let?s all lift each other up. I?m still trying to figure it out. I?m just trying my best over here. Why am I getting attacked?
[From Vanity Fair]
She also talks about Euphoria and effortlessly walks the line of being happy about a show which made her a breakout star AND calling out the producers for not having their acts together. Which is true. As for what she says about what Hollywood is really like and all of the ?women supporting women? stuff being bullsh-t? I believe it, but I also believe it?s particular to Sydney too. Like, I think there are pockets of Hollywood where, um, white women support other white women. But I think a lot of women are probably threatened by Sydney?s youth and beauty too.

Here are some photos from last night?s New York premiere of Wicked. This was much more muted than I expected, especially considering the wild popularity of Wicked?s Broadway run. It?s almost like the studio has suddenly dialed back the premieres and promotion because they?re worried about it now? Something else I was thinking about recently is that both Ariana and Cynthia have reputations for being a bit prickly, so it?s sort of amazing that they?ve kept this show on the road and still manage to be so friendly. Even more than friendly I really buy that they?ve become close friends. There are zero rumors (that I?ve seen) of any beefs or fights or ?please don?t make me pose next to her again.?
Fashion notes: Ariana?s pink/fuschia dress is Louis Vuitton, and Cynthia?s ensemble is Dior. I actually love Cynthia?s look. That?s one of the best ensembles she?s worn for the whole promotion. Ari?s LV is so meh. You know they planned out everything and the stylists were coordinating and all of that, so why are Ariana?s custom pieces so overwhelmingly blah? Also: Cynthia changed into a different all-black ensemble and it?s a really great look too (and I think it?s Dior as well).
Some clips and Wicked vocals have already started to come out online, to mixed reviews. I?ll say this? Ariana has the vocal range to pull this off.

| Kevin Costner shades John Dutton's exit on Yellowstone (spoilers) | Added 308 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

No Yellowstone storyline has been more dramatic or enduring than star Kevin Costner walking away from his rumored $3 million an episode gig as John Dutton ? the frickin? lead! I?ll try to pare it down to the basics: the fifth season of Yellowstone was supposed to be the final of the series, and it was split into two parts. The last episode of the first part of Season 5 aired in January 2023. Then the Hollywood strikes happened, and Kevin hit the horizon to film his passion project. Last Sunday, the first episode of the second part of Season 5 aired, and right off the bat they dealt with the exit of Kevin?s character. A day later, Kevin appeared on The Michael Smerconish Program on SiriusXM, and he was more than a bit shady with the way Taylor Sheridan & Co. wrote off John Dutton. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
?Sometimes I?m like just a passenger in my life, you know, there?s a lot going on,? he told host Michael Smerconish. ?So no, I found out about it this morning actually.?
He explained that he was not aware that the shocking death was in store for his character, though he suggested ?a couple? of ?possible endings? for John over the years.
?No, I didn?t see it. I heard it?s a suicide, so that doesn?t make me want to rush to go see it,? Costner said.
But he did defend the team behind Yellowstone despite the fan backlash to his character?s passing.
?Listen, they?re smart people. Whatever they?re doing, they?ll figure it out,? he said.
As Smerconish pressed Costner over whether or not he was ?displeased? with John?s fate, Costner simply said, ?Maybe it?s a red herring. Who knows? They?re very good. And they?ll figure that out.?
He later denied that he quit Yellowstone at all. He explained that he tried to stay on the show despite it undergoing several changes after Season 5, Part 1. But he said he eventually had to back out because he had his own ?obligations? to the crew of ?300 people? working on his passion project, Horizon: An American Saga.
?I didn?t really have to leave anything behind,? he said. ?There was room, but it was difficult for them to keep their schedule. It seemed to be, it was just too difficult for them to do it.?
?I didn?t leave. I didn?t quit the show,? he outrightly clarified at one point of the interview. He said he ?accommodated? them on the unspecified changes they wanted to make to the contracts, but, ?finally when they wanted to change it a third time, because I had my obligations to do, I had 300 people waiting for me, I couldn?t help them anymore. I just simply couldn?t help them. But I didn?t quit the show.?
[From Decider]
Full disclosure: I have never seen an episode of Yellowstone. I do, however, follow the dramatic plot points that have been playing out off screen by the show?s main characters. Like Taylor Sheridan suing Cole Hauser over similar coffee brand logos, or Forrie J. Smith (what a name!) getting himself kicked off a flight for refusing to sit next to a passenger wearing a mask. So all that plus Kevin Costner?s tense, drawn out exit, and oh my gosh these cowboys are such drama queens! On his character?s death: ?They?ll figure it out.? Dude, they killed off your character. What is there to figure out? And I can?t even get into that whole ?I?m just a passenger in my own life? malarkey. But I think my favorite moment is Kevin insisting that he did not quit the show, you guys! He simply decided to stop physically showing up and receive a paycheck for the series he was starring in ? see the difference?! Look, Kevin may be entirely right that they kept switching contracts and schedules so he decided to honor a prior commitment. But the actions he took are still the definition of quitting.
And of course, lest we forget, the passion project he left Yellowstone for was Horizon: An American Saga, eleventy hours of Civil War-era westward expansion. Boy, did Kevin show them. He had 300 people waiting on him to direct it; if only there had been 300 people who wanted to see it in theaters.

| Denzel Washington says Ryan Coogler is writing a part for him in 'Black Panther 3' | Added 308 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
By all accounts, Denzel Washington has a scene stealing supporting (yet pivotal!) role in Gladiator II. Denzel plays Macrinus, an arms dealer who?s probably/definitely plotting the fall of the Roman Empire. The promotional campaign has been steadily ramping up, and one talking point Denzel keeps returning to is how he?s selective with his projects these days. As a young 70-year-old, Denzel wants to work on films, and perhaps more importantly with filmmakers who excite him, challenge, take him to places he?s never been before. And apparently, one of those new places will be Wakanda. While talking to an Australian network during a big press junket, Denzel revealed that ?Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.?
Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed that a third film in the Black Panther franchise is in the works, but actor Denzel Washington on Tuesday indicated that there is, and that he will have a role.
Speaking to the Today show on Australia?s Channel 9 as part of a Gladiator II press junket, Washington said that director Ryan Coogler is writing a part for him in the next Black Panther film.
When asked about his future plans, Washington said that ?at this point in my career, I?m only interested in working with the best, I don?t know how many more films I will make, probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven?t done.?
?I played Othello at 22, I?m now going to play it at 70,? he continued. ?After that, I?m playing Hannibal. After that, I?ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.?
Black Panther has become one of the MCU?s signature franchises, with the 2018 film starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong?o and Michael B. Jordan garnering not only critical acclaim but a massive box office haul, earning more than $1.3 billion.
Boseman died at age 43 in 2020.
The 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, functioned as a tribute to the late actor, and a way to continue the story of Wakanda and its people. It also launched to success at the box office.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
I really liked both Black Panther movies. They were each so visually and musically sumptuous! Losing Chadwick Boseman was devastating ? he was a lovely, honorable, empathic human. The impact of his death was obviously bigger than how it affected a movie, but I thought Coogler found a way to make Wakanda Forever a thinking, feeling piece on how we process grief. Was it a perfect film? No. But it was pretty impeccable what Coogler created after the tragedy of losing their hero.
All that being said, and bearing in mind that I?m not well-versed in the original comic book lore, I can?t imagine where Black Panther is headed for a third film! Or how Denzel will be fitting into that world. Based on his comments, I?m guessing Denzel wouldn?t settle for being anything other than a Wakandan himself, right? So who could he play ? the late Queen Ramonda/Angela Bassett?s brother? M?Baku/Winston Duke?s father? Or maybe a leader from one of the five tribes that hasn?t been so prominent in the previous movies. So many possibilities! Also, who else but Denzel Washington could get away with casually breaking Marvel casting news? Was he supposed to share that with the world now? I think not! But what can they do ? if we know anything about Denzel at this moment, it?s that he could easily plot the downfall of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Empire.

Melania Trump formally declined Dr. Jill Biden?s invitation to the White House this week. Tradition dictated that Melania and Donald Trump would be invited together, then the outgoing and incoming First Ladies would have peeled off to speak and have tea in the East Wing. Melania said NOPE. While this can be and should be read as an insult to Dr. Biden, let?s be clear: this was mostly about how much Melania hates her husband and doesn?t want to be anywhere near him. When Mel declined Dr. Biden?s invitation, Mel?s office publicly declared: ?Her husband?s return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success.? Sounds like Gisele Bundchen speaking about Tom Brady. All of which to say, Ol? Mel is not coming back to the White House.
Melania Trump is unlikely to move to Washington full time in her second go-round as first lady, multiple sources told CNN, once more showing signs of her willingness to buck tradition as she returns to her high-profile but unelected role on the world stage. Discussions about how and where she?ll spend her time are ongoing, the sources said.
One of her first official decisions is to skip the traditional and symbolic meeting with outgoing first lady Jill Biden at the White House as President Joe Biden hosts the president-elect in the Oval Office on Wednesday. After Jill Biden extended the invitation, there was discussion about the incoming first lady?s attendance, with members of Donald Trump?s team making clear that it was important for her to go. Sources cited a prior scheduling conflict for Melania Trump

| TMZ: Jessica Simpson's friends have reached out to divorce lawyers on her behalf | Added 308 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Last year, Jessica Simpson gave an interview to Bustle which stressed me out. She was funny and real, as always, but she talked a lot about her business. She and her mom bought back Jessica?s eponymous fashion line, and they put their own money into it, to the point where Jessica was overextended and unable to pay for her lifestyle. She was also going back to country music, trying to settle down in Nashville, and recording another reality show about her life and musical comeback. Basically, it sounded like Jessica was being pulled in twenty directions and her professional life was the most chaotic it had ever been. In that interview, there was very little information about her marriage to Eric Johnson or their three kids. Then, in recent months, there?s been a steady stream of gossip muttering about how Jessica?s marriage is possibly on the rocks, and how Eric has basically disappeared from her social media. Now TMZ says that people close to Jessica have consulted divorce lawyers on her behalf?
Two people directly connected to Jessica Simpson have spoken with 2 divorce lawyers in the last 2 months specifically about Jessicas marriage to Eric Johnson TMZ has learned.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ late last month someone close to Jessica went to a Los Angeles divorce attorney and said Jessica was unhappy in her marriage and wanted to arrange a meeting with the attorney and Simpson. We do not know if this was done at Jessicas behest, but were told the message to the lawyer was clear. Were also told up to this point Jessica has not made contact with the lawyer.
And, weve learned someone on Jessicas team made contact with another Los Angeles divorce lawyer regarding matters that were divorce-related. Again, so far were told there has been no follow-through.
Jessica and Eric have been married for 10 years and have 3 children. Jessica posted Monday, Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearth my singular magic. This comeback is personal, its an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve. Its unclear what JS was referring to, but people online were buzzing about her marriage.
[From TMZ]
I actually believe that their marriage is on the rocks and probably has been for some time. While Eric was by her side when she went into recovery and got sober, it felt like both her alcoholism and her sobriety put strains on the marriage. In the years since, she?s remained sober, but her professional life has become shambolic. Maybe Eric and Jessica have just outgrown each other, or maybe Jessica like so many women these days is trying to get out while the getting is good, i.e. before Donald Trump and the Republicans take away no-fault divorces.

| Zendaya to star alongside Tom Holland in Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie | Added 310 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
If you?re a fan of Zendaya and Tom Holland and want to see them in a movie together that doesn?t belong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then I have some great news for you! Late last week, Deadline and Variety announced that the couple have both been cast in Christopher Nolan?s next film. Tom?s casting was made public in October, so Zendaya is a new addition. Details about the movie itself are scarce, but Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway are also co-starring in this untitled movie. In addition to directing it, Nolan is also writing the film, which will begin filming in early 2025 and currently has a release date of July 17, 2026.
Zendaya is reuniting with Tom Holland on the big screen, this time at the direction of Christopher Nolan. The Dune and Challengers actress, 28, will be joining Nolans next film at Universal alongside Anne Hathaway, according to Deadline and Variety. The movie, which also stars Matt Damon, will be released in July 2026, the outlets reported.
Details of the films plot are reportedly under wraps.
Holland, 28, and Zendaya, who confirmed their romantic relationship in 2021, have previously teamed up for 2017s Spider-Man Homecoming, 2019s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Zendaya and Hathaway, 41, previously worked together on set of a Bulgari ad in 2022, while Hathaway and Nolans working relationship dates back to 2012?s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014?s Interstellar.
Nolans next movie will mark his follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster Oppenheimer, which also featured a performance from Damon, 54. Multiple outlets, including Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, reported last month that Holland was in talks to star in the directors next movie alongside Damon. All three outlets indicated Nolans next movie would begin filming in early 2025.
On Good Morning America last month, Holland said of the Nolan project, I?m incredibly excited. And, obviously, honored, but that?s all I can say because, to be honest, that?s all I know.? The star has also indicated that a new Spider-Man movie will begin filming next year.
Earlier this year, Hathaway spoke with Vanity Fair for a cover story, when she detailed how Nolan, 54, helped her career during a period of online scrutiny in the 2010s. After her Oscar win for 2012s Ls Miserables, Hathaway said many people wouldn?t give her roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online.
I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I?ve had in one of the best films that I?ve been a part of, she said of Nolan and Interstellar.
?I don?t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect,? she added. ?And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn?t backed me.?
[From People]
It?s kinda crazy that Tom signed on to do the movie without knowing much about it at all. I mean, I?d do that too because?well, duh. A Nolan film is guaranteed Oscar bait. I?m excited to see what his and Zendaya?s roles will be and hope that they get to interact on screen together as characters that are completely different than we?re used to seeing them play. I?m sure both will kick butt in whatever part they?re cast as. We need more details about the movie, stat!
As for what Anne says regarding Nolan being her ?angel,? I actually finally watched Interstellar for the first time last month, and OMG! I cried so hard throughout several different parts. Anne, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine are all fantastic in it. It?s one of Mr. Rosie?s favorite movies, but I really did not like Inception and thought The Dark Knight Rises was just meh, so I avoided all Nolan movies until Oppenheimer. I feel like I?m now back on the Chris Nolan train. Im excited to watch Anne, Zendaya, and Tom in his next flick.
