Angelina Jolie just keeps doing her thing. While Brad Pitt leaks like a sieve to multiple outlets about how he?s now father of the year, Angelina just keeps focused and ignores him for the most part. I wonder if that?s one of the reasons why Brad is being so extra these days: he wants a reaction from her, bad or good, but she?s not taking the bait. So, what is Angelina up to this week? Oh, just marking the anniversary of Srebrenica genocide with a public statement.
Angelina Jolie is remembering the victims of the Bosnian genocide in 1995 that killed over 8,000 Muslim men and boys. The actress, who centered her 2011 directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey around the Bosnian war that led to genocide, commemorated the 23rd anniversary with a powerful statement about the hardships the European country and its citizens still face today.
?The passage of time cannot diminish the pain felt by survivors of the war in Bosnia or the horror of the Srebrenica genocide,? Jolie said in a statement. ?I have never met more brave, dignified and resilient women than the Mothers of Srebrenica, many still searching for their lost sons and husbands 23 years after the genocide. My thoughts and my heart are with them, and with all survivors in Bosnia today. Srebrenica stands as an indelible warning of the consequences when we fail to take sides when innocent civilians are threatened with aggression. It is also a reminder that the international community can act together, as NATO eventually did in Bosnia, to end the conflict and protect civilian life.?
Jolie serves as Special Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and uses her role to work in support of refugees around the world. In her statement, the activist hopes the anniversary reminds nations around the world to take steps in preventing another genocide as millions of refugees are displaced.
?On this the 23rd anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, I hope we will be inspired to renew our sense of responsibility towards others, and our confidence in our ability to act collectively to prevent genocide and war crimes and defend international law,? Jolie said. ?It is in our hands, and would be the best way of honoring the memory of those who died in Srebrenica.?
[From People]
It says something awful about America that in the same week that Donald Trump is doing the most to destabilize NATO alliances, an American actress and humanitarian is praising NATO?s involvement to deal with the Bosnian genocide. At the time, President Clinton had close diplomatic relationships with NATO allies, and they worked together however imperfectly to help the Bosnian people. I don?t want to depress everyone, but I doubt that will happen again anytime soon.

As we discussed last week, Taylor Swift did NOT spend the Taymerica holiday in Rhode Island. Back in the day, Taylor would host HUGE parties for the Fourth of July at her massive Rhode Island mansion. But since the Tiddlebanging of 2016, Tay has tried to be more low-key, and thus, Taymerica was canceled. She spent this year?s Independence Day holiday on a break from her Reputation Tour, in Turks and Caicos with Joe Alwyn. Obviously, New Snake still has many of the same tricks as Old Snake, thus there were tons of photos from her vacation with Handsome Joe:
THIS is why we can have nice things. https://t.co/2NfFSSsth1

| The Rock calls daughter's birth 'the most amazing experience I?ve ever seen' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Dwayne Johnson is a very loving father and partner. He has professed his appreciation for women on many occasions and I don?t doubt for a moment that he means every word. However, according to Johnson, since his third daughter?s birth in April, he has gained even more reverence for his partner, Lauren Hashian, and not just Lauren, but all mothers across the board.
Dwyane ?The Rock? Johnson says watching his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian deliver their 2-month-old daughter Tiana Gia changed the way he looks at women and mothers forever.
During a visit to Live with Kelly and Ryan on Tuesday, the Skyscraper star, 46, opened up about being in the delivery room for his youngest daughter?s birth.
?I will say, it was the most amazing experience I?ve ever seen,? Johnson said. ?I look at Lauren, and women and mothers, in a different light than I ever have before. And it was beautiful.?
[From People]
Johnson has two other daughters, Simone who is 16 (her mother is his ex-wife Dany Garcia) and his two-year old daughter Jasmine with Lauren. He was in the delivery room for both of their births as well so what was different with Tiana?s birth? Why the new appreciation? Like the saying goes: Location, Location, Location. Johnson changed his vantage point when invited by the doctor for Tiana?s birth and saw everything.
?I was encouraging her ? holding her hand. And the doctor said, ?Would you like to come down and watch and help?? ? Johnson recalled. ?I said, ?Yup, I?m going to come down. Watch. Help.? ?
?I?m holding legs, everything. And out comes the baby,? he continued, joking, ?I know, right? Crazy. ?Cause you roll the dice. You don?t know how it?s going go to go. A lot of stuff happens.?
You know what? Good for him. A lot of people couldn?t handle that scene. I couldn?t. The Mister said he could, after watching the live-birth video in our birthing class, but I shut that nonsense down right away. We were paying good money for medical professionals to do their job, they didn?t need his help. He was far better off staying by my ear and telling me I was pretty. And that was even before I?d heard Robbie Williams liken watching his wife give birth to, ?my favorite pub burning down.?
This is not the first time Johnson has advocated that men watch their partners give birth. In his Instagram announcing Tiana?s birth, he advised that men watch the actual birth, if you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer.? He went on to assure the men that if they did this, ?the respect and admiration you have for a woman, will forever be boundless.? Johnson loves his dramatic proclamations so ? whatever. Maybe Johnson is trying to tell men not to be afraid of childbirth? That would be a good, if not poorly delivered, message.
I know, I know ? don?t be a jerk about a man effusing about his partner. Maybe Lauren wasn?t too pleased with being told not to rush ?Big Daddy? and he?s publicly making up to her. I?m only giving him a small bap on the nose, though. Because childbirth is *one* of the amazing things a woman can do, but most women are worthy of boundless respect and admiration even without it.

| Neve Campbell: Fame 'hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Back in the late 90s, you couldn?t miss Neve Campbell. She gained TV stardom on Party of Five and was in a ton of memorable movies, including Wild Things, Scream and one of my personal favorites, The Craft. (All hail Manon.) Save her recent recurring role on the fourth season of Netflix?s House of Cards, the 44-year-old actress has been absent from the screen and, thankfully, Stephen Colbert is on the case of her disappearance.
Neve is back in a big way, co-starring with The Rock (a/a/k/a Dwayne Johnson) in his latest action adventure flick, Skyscraper. She popped into The Late Show with Steven Colbert, telling Colbert she?s always wanted to do an action movie and offering some behind the scenes dish that The Rock is very curious about what everyone?s eating on set.
When asked why she took a break from the business, moving to London, she admitted, I just needed a minute. It was a long minute. It was a good minute. She went on to say:
?In my twenties, it all hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming?wonderful, obviously, and Im very grateful for it. But it got to a level also where the kinds of things that I was being offered were not the kinds of things I want to do. I was constantly being offered horror films, because I was known for horror films. Or bad romantic comedies. I just wasnt interested in the scripts and I was feeling a bit unhappy with the things that were coming to me. And I was feeling a little bored with the whole thing. I thought, I want a change. So, I moved to London.
I was completely anonymous there. Its just very different there. I literally did not get bothered once! People would ask me what I did for a living. Id say, I act, and theyd say, Oh, Okay.? It was so lovely!?
[From The Late Show with Stephen Colbert via E! News]
In addition to Skyscraper, Neve is also in the upcoming film Hot Air with Steve Coogan. I?m glad she?s back and hope she gets an offer for a good horror movie soon, as I have no interest in seeing Skyscraper. Neve is also busy with mom duties as she and her boyfriend JJ Feild welcomed their second son, whom they recently adopted. Neve has another son, Caspian, who is six. She shares a pretty funny story about how he got his name (and her nine days in labor!) on Colbert. Neve announced the new arrival via Instagram a few weeks ago, noting that ?It?s the most incredible thing we?ve experienced. We?re so grateful for this beautiful light coming into our lives and we think of and are grateful to his birth family every day for such an incredible gift.? Congrats, Neve and JJ (and Caspian too) .
Sheer joy!!!!.So it?s been a secret up until now as JJ and I wanted to wait until it was official but we adopted a beautiful baby boy 5 months ago. His name is Raynor and we are madly in love with him. Our 6 year old son Caspian is over the moon and asks every morning ?Can I hold my baby? Can I feed my baby? Can I play with my baby?. It?s the most incredible thing we?ve experienced. We?re so grateful for this beautiful light coming into our lives and we think of and are grateful to his birth family every day for such an incredible gift. This picture was taken moments after our adoption became official yesterday and I?ve been dying to share our news with you all!
