The Kardashians have been camped out in Manhattan and the Hamptons for weeks now. I guess they?re filming KUWTK while Kanye is touring. Yesterday, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney made an appearance on CNBC?s Closing Bell (FOR REAL) to discuss their business skillz. Kim said, in part:
“My mom kind of taught us girls we could have it all. You know, she works hard. She taught us that if you work hard, it’s just all about prioritizing?It could get tough after you have a baby. There [have been] so many times when I just didn’t wanted to get up and work on something,” she confessed. “I just wanted to be home with my baby, but for me, I think I can speak for my sisters, it makes us feel good when we are out working?You know, now that I’m married, I would so much rather spend time with my husband, my family, and my baby, than run around the world working for other people.”

Kim talks a lot about their evolving business strategy and how they stopped putting their name on everything last year (probably when the Kardashian Kredit Kard failed). They talked about branding, reality shows and how they view themselves as ?businesswomen and entrepreneurs.” Eh. Of all the complaints to have against the Kardashians, this one is pretty far down the list. They do care about money and business and branding and why not?

Here are some photos of Taylor Swift out and about in NYC yesterday. She went to her giant mansion in Rhode Island for the holiday and brought along all of her girlfriends, plus a couple of boys (Emma Stone brought Andrew Garfield!). I feel like we?ve been oversaturated with Swifty photos and stories lately, but do you realize that it?s going to get so much worse in the coming months? Taylor has been in NYC all this time because she?s working on a new album and it will be coming out soon, probably this fall.
As a preview of coming attractions ? and for further evidence that Tay-Tay is first and foremost a controlled businesswoman who understands marketing and branding at a deep level ? Taylor wrote an op-ed in yesterday?s Wall Street Journal. The piece is all about the future of the music industry and it?s a decent (if lengthy) read ? you can read the full piece here. Swifty?s argument is basically that there?s still a need/desire for big musical acts, for big music, for falling in love with new music. Not only is there still that need, Swifty says, but it can still be profitable.
In recent years, you’ve probably read the articles about major recording artists who have decided to practically give their music away, for this promotion or that exclusive deal. My hope for the future, not just in the music industry, but in every young girl I meet?is that they all realize their worth and ask for it.
Music is art, and art is important and rare. Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for. It’s my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album’s price point is. I hope they don’t underestimate themselves or undervalue their art.
? However, some artists will be like finding “the one.” We will cherish every album they put out until they retire and we will play their music for our children and grandchildren. As an artist, this is the dream bond we hope to establish with our fans. I think the future still holds the possibility for this kind of bond, the one my father has with the Beach Boys and the one my mother has with Carly Simon.
I think forming a bond with fans in the future will come in the form of constantly providing them with the element of surprise. No, I did not say “shock”; I said “surprise.” I believe couples can stay in love for decades if they just continue to surprise each other, so why can’t this love affair exist between an artist and their fans?

She?s smart. I?ve never said she wasn?t smart? about music. About her career. I think she might be kind of dumb in love/relationships, but she?s getting better. She?s always been very, very smart about her career and how she interacts with her fans and that?s been very profitable for her. So? good for her, I guess. I?m not sure if I should be nervous or excited about her new album. We?ll see.

She?s got a killer figure and she?s not afraid to show it- Taylor Swift stepped out in New York City yesterday (July 7) looking superfine.
Sporting a matching printed crop top/skirt combo, the ?I Knew You Were Trouble? singer was in good spirits following her fabulous Fourth of July weekend festivities with gal pals like Jaime King, Emma Stone and Lena Dunham.
Meanwhile, Taylor published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Monday regarding the state of the music business.
She wrote, "Before I tell you my thoughts on the matter, you should know that you're reading the opinion of an enthusiastic optimist: one of the few living souls in the music industry who still believes that the music industry is not dying...it's just coming alive? Fans are buying only the [albums] that hit them like an arrow through the heart or have made them feel strong or allowed them to feel like they really aren't alone in feeling so alone."
"There are always going to be those artists who break through on an emotional level and end up in people's lives forever. The way I see it, fans view music the way they view their relationships. Some music is just for fun, a passing fling (the ones they dance to at clubs and parties for a month while the song is a huge radio hit, that they will soon forget they ever danced to). Some songs and albums represent seasons of our lives, like relationships that we hold dear in our memories but had their time and place in the past."
Swift continued, "However, some artists will be like finding 'the one.? We will cherish every album they put out until they retire and we will play their music for our children and grandchildren. Stepping out for some promotional duties, Halle Berry headed over to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City for an appearance on ?The Late Show with David Letterman.?
The ?Monster?s Ball? actress was stunning in a figure-hugging purple dress as she waved to her fans and posed for pictures ahead of her interview.
Halle was in the house to plug her brand new television series ?Extant,? slated to debut on the CBS network on Wednesday (July 9) at 9pm.
Meanwhile, last month Berry was ordered to begin paying $16,000 per month to her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry as a means of child support for their daughter Nahla.

Yay, Kristen Stewart is in Paris today for Fashion Week. Specifically, she?s in town as part of her Chanel contract, in which she?s the face of Karl Lagerfeld?s Paris-Dallas Chanel Collection. Kristen has been promoting the brand for months now, getting pap?d wearing Chanel sweatshirts and carrying Chanel bags and basically looking like a walking Chanel advertisement. But I like that she?s hustling for her contract. And I like that she?s growing up enough to play the game.
As for these photos? I?m assuming Karl Lagerfeld chose Kristen?s outfit. Let?s not pretend she had a say in what she?s wearing. Sheer white harem pants with built-in granny panties and a crop top? Very odd. But I have to say, it?s nice to see something different and softer on Kristen and she comes close to pulling it off. I like the way she?s styled too, minus the sunglasses. Her hair looks cute ? she had to dye it that terrible color for American Ultra, and she?s making the best out of a bad situation. It looks like she?s chopped off much of her hair too? Some of her old hair was probably just extensions, but she must have wanted something different after she finished filming. It?s a cute cut. It suits her too.
I like the long necklaces and the bracelets as well. The whole look is sort of 1970s Moroccan to me. Also: I cracked up when I saw that she was biting her lip in some of these photos. Classic Kristen!

This is going to shock and appall: Angelina Jolie used to do DRUGS. Yes, so shocking. It?s not like she made multiple references to her drug usage over the years, or how she was openly cracked-out for several years in the last 1990s. Personally, I think of those self-harming early years as part of what makes her current incarnation so striking and so inspirational. She was a second-generation Hollywood wild child, a drug user and a mess. And she turned it around when she began traveling the world and working for the UNHCR. And the final death blow to her old drugged-out ways was when she adopted Maddox.
But before all that, Angelina was just a cracked-out wild child in 1998, pacing the floor of a scuzzy ?drug den? and talking to her father on the phone. Radar and the National Enquirer have been teasing images taken from this 1998 ?drug den? video for more than a week, and now they?ve finally released the old video. Angelina looks rough here, but I don?t think she seems all that cracked-out here. And it doesn?t really seem like a drug den either. According to Radar, this phone call video happened just after her dealer delivered some heroin and cocaine to her. Her dealer is the one who shot the video. Sixteen years ago.

Mila Kunis covers the August issue of W Magazine and I think this might be the absolute WORST editorial I?ve ever seen with Mila. Mila is extremely photogenic, but it?s almost like they were trying to make her look older and less gamine. The clothes are stuffy. Most of the photos don?t have the proper lighting. Mila?s body language radiates discomfort. It?s just awful. Doubly awful? You know why she?s doing so many interviews lately, why she got the W cover? It?s because of Jupiter Ascending, which was supposed to be her big summer movie, only it get pushed back at the last minute. She?s still got her small, indie film Third Person, but she wouldn?t have gotten the W cover for that.
Anyway, Mila?s W interview is a lot nicer than the interview she did with that poor New Jersey Star-Ledger reporter. Mila isn?t a raging a?hole in this one, which just goes to show that she?s only rude to people when she thinks they?re unimportant, when she believes no one is paying attention. Some highlights from the W piece:
Ashton was her first kiss: ?My first real kiss ever was with him on the show. And when That ?70s Show had a prom, my date for the prom turned out to be my fianc. We can honestly say that we went to prom together! Although I do think that in that episode I went home with someone else. We don?t talk about that part.?
Bitching about the paparazzi: ?Every day and every night, the paparazzi are parked outside my house. Today, I had to drive through the Warner Bros. back lot on my way here, just to throw them off. They want a shot of my stomach because they need proof of my pregnancy. I don?t know why they even bother?they?ve been saying I?m pregnant for years. Now they?re right, so they won?t leave me alone.?
Working on That ?70s Show: Despite developing a dislike for the period fashions (?You will never see me in bell-bottoms ever again,? she insisted), Kunis has a deep affection for the Fox series. ?Not only did it introduce me to my fianc, but I?m so grateful that all my mistakes are recorded for posterity. I went through puberty on television! I grew five inches while I was on that show, and I had so many different eyebrow shapes! I went through everything embarrassing that a girl can go through in front of my fianc. There?s no question that he?s seen the worst. I find that comforting.?
After Black Swan, she hates ballet. ?The first time I put on a pointe shoe, I screamed. I will never dance again. It was the hardest thing I?ve done.?
She got pregnant while filming Jupiter Ascending: ?I had already decided to take a year off. I have never wanted to be the person who only has business on her mind. To me, this job has always been a hobby that turned into a great profession, but I don?t eat and breathe acting?I?m sure Meryl Streep has a very different point of view. But I?m excited about being a full-time mom?Although, give me a year of not working and I?ll see how I feel.?
Ashton is the love of her life: ?I never wanted to get married. From the age of 12, I prepared my parents for no marriage. Then things changed?I found the love of my life. Now my theory on weddings is: Don?t invite anyone. Do it privately and secretly. My parents are okay with that. They?re just excited that I said yes.?
Introducing Ashton?s cousins to Channing Tatum: ?I promised to introduce the girls to Channing. They are so excited about meeting him.? Kunis smiled knowingly. ?We all get movie star crushes. I?m marrying mine.?

Oh, for the love of God. That ?I?m marrying mine? was just too sugary and gross for my taste. It sounds like something Katie Holmes would have said when she was in the first flush of Xenu. You guys have yelled at me before for suggesting that Ashton has turned Mila into a jackass, and maybe you have a point. Maybe she?s always been this way and two jackasses found each other and fell in love.

This story totally got lost in the Independence Day shuffle, but I really wanted to cover it so? sorry that this is like a week old. Before Emma Watson graduated from Brown, she had homes in Rhode Island and England, from what I understand (maybe there?s a NYC apartment in the mix as well?). She?s been spending more time in NYC lately, and I guess she really liked her American housekeeper. Emma liked her so much that Emma brought the housekeeper to London to look after her place there as well. So, basically? Emma brought over an undocumented immigrant to work as a maid for her. And it?s a thing now.
Immigration officials are investigating claims that Emma Watson?s American housekeeper could have worked for her illegally in the UK. Reports suggest that the maid might have worked for the actress at her 2million London home while she held a tourist visa. Tourist visas bar foreign citizens from working in the UK.
The housekeeper, who is thought to have started working for Watson at her New York apartment at the start of 2013, was reportedly stopped by UK immigration staff, who questioned how she intended to fund her stay in Britain. Border Agency officials started the probe after they received a complaint that she was paid to aid the actress at her home in Islington and subsequently travelled to London on and off.
A source at the Home Office told The Independent that they “wouldn’t routinely comment on individual cases”. It is alleged that the housekeeper spent three months in Britain between September 2013 and February 2014. Her employment at Watson?s home is understood to have come to an end at the beginning of February.
Civil penalties of up to 10,000 per worker can be imposed by Home Office chiefs on bosses who are found to have breached immigration guidelines.
The Harry Potter star had been living in the United States as she studied for her degree in English Literature at Brown University in Rhode Island. Have recently obtained the qualification, she is now thought to be based in London.

Is this slightly amusing to anyone else? Don?t get me wrong, I?m sure there are tons of celebrities, wealthy and upper-middle class people in America who employ undocumented workers as maids, gardeners and the like. Emma managed to find an American housekeeper that she liked so much, Emma got her to clean all of her international properties. That must be one awesome maid. So awesome, in fact, that Emma never thought to simply hire an English maid for her English properties? Was Emma being loyal to someone she liked? Or was she being cheap?
Anyway, if Emma does get fined, it won?t be that big of a deal for her (she?s crazy rich already). I think it would be interesting to hear of other celebrities who employed undocumented workers. Maybe this will be the start.

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron?s romance ? which is now past the half-year mark ? has had the oddest effect on both parties. On one side, every time Charlize stands or sits next to Sean Penn, she looks drop-dead gorgeous by comparison. But she also looks progressively bitchier too. Like, Charlize?s resting bitchface was in full effect in these photos from the Paris Fashion Week Dior show yesterday. She looked pissed off? at the clothes. Beautiful but ANGRY. Meanwhile, on the other side, Sean Penn seems to have chilled out considerably. He used to be the angry one. Now he?s the chilled one, happy to fly to Paris to sit next to his lady at the Dior show. What?s up, Sean? You changed, bro.
Obviously, Charlize is wearing Dior. I wonder if Sean got some Dior Homme for his trouble? Robert Pattinson is the current face of Dior Homme, so maybe Sean didn?t go there. Out of all the women at this runway show (Bedhead is covering some of them in a separate post!), I think Charlize looked the best. Her hair is killing me these days, it looks so good. Her skin looks gorgeous and overall? she just seems to be glowing these days.
I?m also including pics of Zhang Ziyi, who had my second favorite look (minus those shoes), and Marion Cotillard. I?m sorry, but Marion needs to stop wearing Dior. It never agrees with her. I don?t know if she?s just getting Charlize?s second choices or what, but it feels like Marion is getting the worst of Raf Simons? designs.

She earing an incredible asymmetrical dress. The dress featured a one-strapped, pleated top that led into a white bodycon bottom and was layered with polka dot chiffon. Her hair and makeup were simply put with a middle part and red lip. And her accessories included a black clutch and white heels.
