Here are some photos of a feathered Lindsay Lohan last night in London. Her run in Speed-the-Plow is over, so now her nights are free to party and attend high-profile events, because she?s totally an A-lister. Last night, she attended the Christmas party for Chopard at Annabel?s. Annabel?s is a private, members-only club, and Chopard is a luxury brand. Do you think Lindsay was actually invited to this event? Do you think she was someone?s plus-one? Or did she crash it?
I have to say? I don?t really think she looks that bad these days. I mean, her long-term drug and alcohol abuse have made her age prematurely, but quite honestly, this is probably the best she?s looked in a few years. Now if we could only get her to stop blowing kisses at everyone. Yikes!
As for her future career path? as we discussed last week, Lindsay is ?determined? to be a movie star again, following her ?successful? run with Speed-the-Plow. A few days ago, she posted a photo and message on her Instagram, writing: ?And so it is. ONE MAMET DOWN!!! Next stop. 1 year #OLEANNA.? Yes, she?s talking about another David Mamet play, Oleanna. I remember when Cate Blanchett did Oleanna early in her career and that was one of the roles that made her a star. Do you think Lindsay could pull off a role that Cate Blanchett owned more than 15 years ago? Sigh?

Here are some photos of Angelina Jolie out and about yesterday in NYC. The photos of Angelina in the grey prairie skirt & jacket (with Garrett Hedlund) are from the day, when they did a luncheon at MoMA. The photos of Jolie in a black sack-coat are from the evening screen of Unbroken at MoMA. I don?t know if it?s Angelina?s makeup, but lately she?s been looking really exhausted. It?s not that she looks ?bad? or that she?s suddenly become unphotogenic or anything. She just looks like she needs to sleep for a week. It?s also possible that she?s sore from that car accident earlier this week.
Anyway, this is the first week where critics are finally getting to see Unbroken and publish their reviews. So far, the reaction has been? good. Solidly appreciative, at times very positive. Vulture had a great write-up about what Unbroken does for the Oscar field ? Vulture says that Unbroken will likely get a Best Picture nomination, but it will be a steeper climb for Angelina to get a Best Director nomination, much less a win. Vulture also says that Miyavi will probably end up with a Supporting Actor nomination because he?s already charming everyone on the campaign circuit. Interestingly enough, Vulture says that Unbroken will probably get an editing nomination. Which should be interesting, because the studio likely recut it without Angelina?s input. I think Unbroken is going to be a contender (the NBR thinks so too), but I agree, some of the categories are going to be harder to break into than others.
Last thing… Aussie actor Jai Courtney has a supporting part in the film, and he was being interviewed on Kiis FM?s Kyle & Jackie O show. They asked him about working with Angelina as a director, and he said: ?She just has this command.? He told a story about Angelina walking onto the hot, baking set with 300 extras and ?Everyone was getting very restless and she just walked out to have a chat to everyone and it was like… they’d never seen two hundred men shut up and stand still.?

The ?Material Girl? singer, who poses topless in one of her snapshots (taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott), shares her history of experimentation with drugs.
?I mean, I tried everything once, but as soon as I was high, I spent my time drinking tons of water to get it out of my system. As soon as I was high, I was obsessed with flushing it out of me. I was like, ?Okay, I?m done now.??
Madge also notes that she?s always surrounded herself with interesting folks- ?I was attracted to creative people. You don?t want to be the smartest person in the room; you want to be the dumbest in the room.?
And as she grew older, ?I became very obsessed with death, and the idea that you never know when death will arrive, so one has to do as much as possible all the time to get the most out of life. We?re all good intrinsically, just covered sometimes in filth and darkness, and our job is to get rid of it, to peel back the layers and reveal our goodness.?

Cameron Diaz covers the January issue of Cosmo to promote her role as Miss Hannigan in the Annie remake. I find that a little bit funny (demographic wise), but Cameron has been on Cosmo’s cover more times than I can count. This is a regular pit stop for her. The shoot is typical Cameron. The interview is … different. Thanks to nice guy Benji Madden, we can witness a kinder, gentler Cam. That’s not very good for gossip, is it? Her answers come from a place that says, “Finally, I can relax in a relationship without worrying about the guy screwing me over.” On the other hand, she’s totally a relationship expert now:
On making a romance work: “You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn?t want, it?s never gonna work. You?re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who?s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.?
Lessons from past relationships: “Here’s the thing. You make the same mistake over and over again until you learn your lesson. We girls sometimes do the thing where we pick the same person over and over again — they look and seem different, but deep down, they?re the same. And that?s on us.”
Her singing in Annie: “It was the most terrifying thing I?ve ever done in a movie. I cried a lot. [Miss Hannigan is] bitter because her chance at fame was stolen, and all she can taste is that taste, which is very much in line with this day and age. People determine your value by how many friends you have on Facebook or if you?re Instagram famous.”

Yeah, Cameron is completely happy with Benji. It shows. She’s looking back at her romantic past with a new perspective. Girlfriend realizes that she wasted too many years on a bunch of tools (Timberlake, Leto, A-Rod, and P. Diddy). Earlier this year, Cam ranted about how everyone cheats in relationships, and women should examine why they are being cheated on. Now she’s more at peace, as if she realizes Benji wouldn’t do that to her. It’s kind of awesome. I mean, Cameron is still a rude pill in other ways, but I’m happy she and Benji found each other.

Reese Witherspoon covers the new issue of Glamour, and I might have to take back what I?ve been saying about Reese toning down her Oscar campaign. Reese has Oscar Campaign Talking Points ? and she?s hitting them in every interview. Denying the ?America?s Sweetheart? mantle? Check. Newly empowered Hollywood heavyweight? Check. Role model for her daughter? Check. Fighting for women everywhere? Check. Going on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment while making a movie about self-discovery and healing? Check. It?s getting sort of annoying. But still, we persevere. You can read the full Glamour piece here ? she was interviewed by Cheryl Strayed, author of Wild. Some highlights:
She?s not your sweetheart: “I certainly didn’t self-identify as anyone’s sweetheart. I’m friendly, but I don’t think I’m sweet. I’m honest.”
Wild isn?t just about having no makeup: “I was scared of the really emotional scenes. I was scared of the sexuality. I was scared of the grittiness and of being bare on-screen. It’s not just about having no makeup on your face, like I did in the film. It’s about not being conscious of how you’re perceived, allowing yourself to be broken, the way she did so fearlessly in the book.?
Wild is about mothers: ?My mom saw the movie with Laura Dern?s mother, and they held hands the whole time they watched the movie. Laura and I were talking about it later, and we realized that if we never said another word to our mothers about how important they were to us, we knew they saw themselves on that screen when they watched Wild. They saw how important they were in our lives.?
Mom lessons: ?I?ll always remember these platitudes my mother said to me, like ?Your job is your life insurance. Don?t ever let anybody take it away from you.? This is so dumb, but the other day Ava said, ?Well, Mom, you said that drinking water with lemon is good for my body.? I burst into tears, going, ?Oh my God, you listen to me!? Parenting triumph.?
What she wants to teach her daughter: ?To not be ashamed about any of her experiences. To live life fully, with curiosity and love, and to be brave.?
Becoming a young mom: ?I was 23. I didn?t know what I was doing. I was young. It was shocking. When people ask, ?When?s the best time to get pregnant?? I say, ?Pick the best day for when your entire life is gonna change.? There?s no good time to have your world turned upside down?I don?t think there?s been an hour of my life since Ava was born that I don?t think of my kids. I call it my CNN ticker tape: Is Ava OK? Yes. Is Deacon OK? Yes. Is Tennessee OK? Yes. Back to Ava.?
Oprah-speak: ?I don?t think I realized [in my twenties] that no one else makes you whole. You have to take responsibility for your own happiness. That took me until I was about 31 to know. It wasn?t easy to realize, Oh wait, I am purely responsible [for my life]?no relationship, no children, no nothing is going to make you a happy person. Every day you have to choose to find and cultivate your own happiness.?

Our perception of Reese has changed so much since the American Citizen incident, and it?s difficult for me to actually remember how Reese was perceived pre-arrest. She was considered an ?America?s Sweetheart? and I seem to remember her feeding into that, profiting from that perception a great deal. One particular incident that I remember: Reese at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, receiving an award and taking that moment to shame women who made sex tapes or took naked selfies. She patronized the crowd ? which included Blake Lively, fresh off of her naked-photo leak ? saying that ?It?s totally possible to be a good girl.? And this is the same Reese who tries to play it like she was never your good-girl sweetheart. Sure.

Taking her hairdo to the next level, Jessica Simpson decided to go totally platinum during her recent visit to the hair salon.
The ?With You? singer headed over to Rita Hazan?s beauty shop to undergo a dazzling dye job and she posted the results on Instagram.
Along with a pair of pics, Jessica added the caption, "Nothing like a Monday bleach out by one of my besties @ritahazan.?
True to form, Ms. Simpson is bucking the trend of darker tresses for winter, and it seems to be working quite nicely for her!
