I?m sorry but it?s still bonkers that Prince William scheduled his Earthshot mess in South Africa this week. William desperately wants American media attention, not to mention international and domestic attention, and it feels like the whole world is curled up in a ball, weeping uncontrollably because of the American election. And here?s Slumlord Willy, doing a tragic photocall with Earthshot finalists at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town. He?s really not doing back-to-back events whatsoever he?s basically kept it to two ?engagements? a day since he?s been in Cape Town. William also spoke to the media outlets on the ground, and the biggest headline was his friendship bracelet.
The Princess of Wales is doing really well and has been amazing this whole year, Prince William has said. He was speaking to broadcasters ahead of presenting his environmental Earthshot Prize in Cape Town, South Africa later.
On his wrist the Prince of Wales was wearing a bracelet saying Papa made for him by his daughter Princess Charlotte for a Taylor Swift concert, which he said he had promised to wear on the trip and try not to lose.
His wife has not travelled to South Africa as she recovers after treatment for cancer and will instead be watching the ceremony at home in Windsor. Catherine will be cheering me on, he said, adding: I know shell be really keen to see tonight be a success.
The bracelet was made by Charlotte for her father when they went to a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley. Friendship bracelets have become synonymous with the pop star and her sellout Eras tour and are regularly swapped with fellow Swifties at her concerts.
Prince William was speaking to the BBC inside the Super Dome that has been built for this evening?s awards ceremony in Cape Town. The eco Dome will be recycled and reused elsewhere after the ceremony.
[From BBC]
Wait, Earthshot built a ?Super Dome? specifically for the prize ceremony? Wouldn?t it have been more sustainable to just use an existing venue? Anyway, the friendship bracelet thing is yet another copykeen of Harry, who has worn friendship bracelets and beaded bracelets since he was a teenager. Between that and William?s ugly beard, he?s really trying so hard to rebrand himself into ?I?m Just Like Harry, Look At Me.? Also: ten bucks says Kate does not watch the Earthshot event.

| Chris Pratt, pre-election: It's more important that 'we show up for each other' | Added 44 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last week, several of the Avengers assembled for a video conference endorsement of Kamala Harris. Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Bettany and Don Cheadle were on it. RDJ?s involvement mildly surprised me because he?s indicated plenty of times that he?s voted for Republicans in some elections. Chris Pratt was noticeably absent from the call. The Worst Chris has long been aligned with conservatism and Evangelical politics. It doesn?t matter that he married into the Kennedy family, he?s always shown more of an interest in right-wing messaging and culture. Well, just before the election, he published an op-ed on his mother-in-law?s website:
Chris Pratt published an op-ed a few days before Election Day on his mother-in-law Maria Shriver?s website, Sunday Paper, in which he said that he?s focused less on who becomes our next president and more on making sure Americans continue to help one another regardless of the election outcome. Pratt did not publicly endorse either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in his op-ed, which resulted in some fan disappointment on social media.
?I write this now because about half of the voting population is going to be incredibly disappointed on November 6th,? Pratt wrote. ?But for me, the question is not, ?Did your candidate win or lose?? but rather, ?Will you wake up the next morning and help an old lady move??
?It?s OK to take a moment to lick your wounds when you lose. Heck, go ahead and cry in the mirror. But if we become too paralyzed by defeat or too pompous in victory, allegiance to our ?team? can blind us to the fact that we are fellow countrymen. How do we become a nation of honorable winners and graceful losers? It starts with remembering no matter who wins or loses, there are still going to be people who need help in this country. Find them. Be of service.?
Pratt said that America?s greatest strength as a country is ?our unified communities,? citing ?places of worship, Elks clubs, Rotary clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Salvation Army and in our service members.?
?Our strength lies in our people who step across the political aisle not just with the handshake of a good sportsman, but a helping hand to anyone in need,? Pratt wrote. ?So, be a good sport. We need you. Our country needs you. Team Red, Team Blue, and Team ?Didn?t Even Vote,? too. Your civic duty can be uniquely exercised on November 5th, but there is an even bigger civic duty required the next day: which is to accept the results and focus instead on showing up for each other.?
Pratt concluded, ?Check in with your neighbor ? especially if they voted for the other guy or girl. Ask how they?re doing. See how you can help. And while you?re at it, see if they know any old ladies who need help moving.?
[From Variety]
This is what kills me: Pratt and the other right-wingers were already striking this kind of tone before the election because they thought Trump was going to lose. Not just that, they thought Trump was going to get obliterated, and after nine years of Trumpism, chickens were coming home to roost. I wonder if Pratt feels like singing Kumbaya with Democrats now that his people won, now that angry white men smashed the republic into a million little pieces. ?Our strength lies in our people who step across the political aisle not just with the handshake of a good sportsman, but a helping hand to anyone in need? Trump promised to throw his critics in prison. Women who have miscarriages will be prosecuted. Trump said Liz Cheney should face a firing squad. Fk all the way off, Chris Pratt.

| Catherine O?Hara: Tim Burton bought us a tour of the Vatican as a wedding present | Added 44 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
The inimitable Catherine O?Hara just spoke with the consummate Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Julia?s Wiser than Me podcast, which got me wondering: have those two powerhouses ever worked together? My quick Google search yielded no results. How can this be?! It would be an improv for the ages! Catherine and Julia obviously discussed their shared comedic backgrounds, but Catherine also shared a sweet story about Tim Burton. While Tim wasn?t exactly a matchmaker, it was on his 1988 Beetlejuice set that actor Catherine met production designer Bo Welch, who is now her husband of 32 years. And now Catherine has revealed what the artistic auteur gave them as a wedding gift: a tour of the Vatican. That?s certainly different from your average kitchen appliance!
?Tim gave us an amazing wedding gift, which was a private tour at the Vatican,? O?Hara said, prompting Louis-Dreyfus, 63, to reply, ?Yeah, only Tim Burton would give us a present like that.?
?Somebody had given [Burton] the gift, and he?d been blown away, so he passed it on, which is really wonderful and generous,? O?Hara continued. ?So this lovely priest or cardinal took us all around the Vatican, and he was wild.?
She recalled how their tour guide took them ?everywhere? ? ?including, I swear, the Pope?s closet.?
?He took us on the elevator that the Pope takes down to the St. Peter?s Basilica to his dead mass. He took us in this beautiful, little private museum full of, in glass cases, all the gifts given to the Vatican from all over the world,? O?Hara said. ?And he let us open the case and take out crowns and pretend to be putting them in my husband?s backpack.?
The actress also told Louis-Dreyfus that she has Burton to thank for pushing her husband to finally ask her out when the three were on the set of 1988?s Beetlejuice. Burton directed the film, and O?Hara starred as Delia Deetz. Welch, 72, worked behind the scenes as a production designer.
?Tim Burton basically made him ask me out. Because I was grousing to Tim that this guy was talking to me every day, and never asking me out,? O?Hara told Louis-Dreyfus. ?So Tim said, ?Let me see what I can do.? He did talk to him, and Bo begrudgingly asked me out. And now we?re still married, thank goodness.?
Back in August, the Schitt?s Creek star told PEOPLE that the day Welch invited her on a date was her favorite part of filming Beetlejuice. She recalled that he finally made the move when they were out shooting the exteriors of the iconic Beetlejuice house in Vermont.
?Bo came up to me that day and said, ?Our department?s going to a swap meet. You want to come??? she said.
[From People via AOL]
Oh, Bo, honey. That pick up line is so lame it kind of swings back around to being fabulous. And that was after Tim already gave him the nod that Catherine was interested! There?s so much to enjoy about this story. It tickles me that Catherine involved Tim Burton in getting Bo to make a move, like Tim wasn?t otherwise heavily preoccupied directing a movie. I love that the Vatican tour guide was like, ?Si si, go ahead and pick up the priceless artifacts to make a funny picture, va bene.? But I think what I appreciate most is the detail that this was an experience that had been given to Tim, and he found it so powerful that he wanted to pass it on. For one thing, it?s another example of Tim being an endearing emotional monster. And on a personal note, it reminded me of my late father, who ardently preached that ?you should always give a gift you?d like to receive yourself.?
And on that note, Catherine and Julia: would you please treat us by doing a series or movie together asap? Cause heavens to Betsy are we in desperate need of some laughter.

| Keanu Reeves says he threw up 'a couple of times' doing stunts for John Wick | Added 46 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Keanu Reeves has had a busy few weeks of movie anniversary celebrations. Last month, he was joined by Sandra Bullock and director Jon de Bont for a 30th anniversary screening of Speed. On November 3, it was time to celebrate the John Wick?s 10th anniversary. At the event, Keanu and his co-star Ian McShane did a panel with producer Erica Lee and co-director Chad Stahelski. During the panel, Keanu talked a bit about his experience filming the action movie, in which he reportedly did 90% of his own stunts. He worked so hard on those fight scenes that he even threw up ?a couple of times.?
Moderator Grae Drake asked Reeves how far he was pushed to play the titular hitman who gets revenge on the Russian mobsters responsible for the death of his dog.
Reeves said the experience was a ?gift,? adding, ?I had so many wonderful teachers and guidance and worked with so many talented actors, actresses and stunt people in the sense of its such a dance and collaboration and cooperation. So theres a couple of times where you throw up or puke or whatever, but thats what makes it good!?
McShane also praised Reeves? willingness to go the extra mile.
?He pushes the envelope all the time. So when your leading actors says, ?Wed like do another one,? and its raining for the seventh day in a row outside ? and youre standing there, whatever. And you go, ?Well, Keanus doing it. Here we are. Here we go,? ? said McShane.
The movie was a hit, and launched three sequels, which have collectively made more than $1 billion globally. The films have also become famous for their violent and involved fight scenes, including one in which Keanu?s Wick shoves a sharpened pencil in the eye and ear of a foe.
When moderator Drake quipped that ?nobodys ever looked at a pencil the same way again,? Reeves responded: ?You shouldnt. Because they work!?
[From People]
I am impressed but not at all surprised by Keanus work ethic. Its insane that he pushed himself so hard that he threw up, though. That is hardcore, especially because he was 49 years old when they filmed the first movie. This reminds me of Halle Berry?s stories about getting broken bones and being knocked out three times on set. Halle was in John Wick: Chapter 3 when she broke three ribs, so we know those action scenes and stunts are definitely intense to film. It sounds like Keanu really is just as lovely, hardworking, and professional as he appears. He?ll be back for John Wick: Chapter 5, which surprised me, given the ending of the fourth movie.
Anyway, I love the John Wick movies. I didn?t think I?d be into it so wasn?t really watching it when Mr. Rosie put the fist movie on. I started paying attention midway through, though, and was like, ?All this for a dog?? After that, I was all in. Did you know that Eva Longoria is the reason why the first movie was even able to be made in the first place? They were short on budget, so at the very last minute, Eva provided the additional six million dollars needed to fund it. She still gets residuals from it, too.

| Daniel Craig wants Knives Out 3 to get a wider theatrical release | Added 46 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Daniel Craig?s latest film Queer, directed by Luca Guadagnino and adapted from a book by William S. Burroughs, debuted at the Venice Film Festival two months (and a lifetime) ago. Before the premiere, I thought Daniel was supposed to be a major contender this awards season, but it feels like he disappeared after Venice, no? I mean, Angelina Jolie started her Maria campaign in Venice and she has been go-go-go ever since. Maybe the plan all along was to wait for Daniel to give a big push closer to the release, which brings us to his new Variety cover story. Daniel and costar Drew Starkey pose on the cover with the headline ?The Year?s Most Provocative Movie? printed over one of the most un-provocative photos ever taken, but I digress. During the interview, Daniel is asked about the next Knives Out installment, and Daniel confirmed that he very much wants Netflix to give the film a wider theatrical release than Glass Onion got in 2022:
Daniel Craig knows the ?Knives Out? franchise belongs in movie theaters, so he?s hoping Netflix will give the upcoming third installment, officially titled ?Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,? a theatrical release that lasts more than just one week. That?s how long Netflix put 2022?s ?Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery? in theaters for, which seemingly is not Craig?s preference. The actor told Variety during an interview for its ?Queer? cover story that ?Knives Out 3? deserves a more robust theatrical rollout.
?You know I do,? Craig said when asked if he thinks ?Wake Up Dead Man? should play in theaters for longer than one week. ?Hopefully, Netflix will push it out a bit, and people will get to see it. The people I speak to ? the fans, I suppose ? all they want to do is take their families and go see it at the cinemas. That?s all they want to do. Hopefully we can give them that experience.?
The first ?Knives Out? movie was released by Lionsgate in 2019 and became a word-of-mouth smash hit over the holiday movie season with $312 million at the worldwide box office. Writer-director Rian Johnson also picked up an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. Netflix ultimately struck a deal with Johnson to develop two ?Knives Out? sequels, the first of which played for just one week in theaters across the country.
While Netflix gave ?Glass Onion? a one-week theatrical release, it did strike deals at the time with the country?s largest theater chains ? AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas and Cinemark ? in order to put the ?Knives Out? sequel in 600 theaters. That remains the widest release Netflix has ever done. Notably, the sequel was the first Netflix movie to screen in AMC and Regal locations, as the two exhibitors had long refused the streamer?s films because Netflix would not adhere to more traditional theatrical windows. ?Glass Onion? remains the only time Netflix did such a wide release for one of its films. It?s unclear if the streamer intends to do the same for ?Wake Up Dead Man.?
Johnson once again wrote and directed the third ?Knives Out? movie, which once again features Craig as the detective Benoit Blanc. The new supporting cast includes Josh O?Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church. Plot details remain under wraps. Netflix will release ?Wake Up Dead Man? in 2025.
[From Variety]
I don?t know anything about the plot of this new movie, but I?m telling you now: Glenn Close did it. She?s the murderer, without question. Sorry to spoil it, but the filmmakers did that themselves when they cast her. And Andrew Scott is just there to fool you until an hour and a half into the story. As for what kind of theatrical release it gets, good luck, Daniel! Apple TV+ didn?t give a hoot what George Clooney and Brad Pitt thought when it came to Wolfs (though there?s a legit argument that had to do with that particular movie itself). But still, I wouldn?t expect much more from Netflix, unless they?re possibly thinking of Wake Up Dead Man as an awards contender. Oh my stars, wouldn?t it be sublime if Glenn Close FINALLY won her Oscar for a Knives Out film!! Let?s reconvene for the 2026 Academy Awards to see if I called it. In the meantime, Queer is set for a limited theatrical release on November 27.

| Kaley Cuoco calls daylight saving time 'a direct assault on parents of young children' | Added 46 hours ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Back in my younger, pre-motherhood days, I loved that Sunday morning when daylight savings time ended. Of course, I hated how it got darker earlier, but I sure did love the excuse to get an extra hour of sleep. This all changed after my older son was born and I quickly learned that babies do not observe the time change. And thus, I joined the legions of parents who complained on social media about the travesty of it all.
Well, fellow moms, we can now add Kaley Cuoco to the club. Kaley welcomed her daughter Matilda in March 2023, so she is still right in the thick of it with a toddler. On Sunday morning, Kaley made a post on Instagram, sharing that she ?finally understands? why parents of young children are always complaining on the first Sunday in November. She also reposted a video that joked about it being a ?direct assault? on parents.
I finally understand what parents were always bitching about regarding their kids and daylight savings time,? Cuoco wrote over a photo of herself. ?Now I know. I get it. I see you. Why is the world doing this to us??
In the light-hearted snap, the Based on a True Story star ? who shares her daughter with fianc Tom Pelphrey ? gave the camera a playful glare as she partially covered her face with hair while clutching a coffee cup.
The Big Bang Theory alum later reposted a video about daylight saving times from Caitlin Murray?s Big Time Adulting Instagram page.
?What are we doing here with the changing of clocks? Murray asked. ?Why are we doing this? This is a direct assault on parents of young children. It?s a well-known fact that when you have young children, hours in the day are measured in dog years.?
She joked, ?By 11 a.m., some of us would have already been awake with our children for 42 hours.?
Meanwhile, Cuoco also shared a video of Matilda appearing to be tired, but refusing to fall asleep.
I wish she would admit she?s tired. Look at those yawns? Look at them! WHY ARE WE AWAKE,? Cuoco wrote as her daughter sat in her highchair. The adorable tot was filmed holding onto her juice packet while yawning.
[From People]
Ha, the quip about being awake with kids for 42 hours by 11 a.m. made me laugh because it?s so true. Hey, I get it. The struggle is real. The only fun thing about setting the clocks back is getting that extra hour of sleep. Usually, my biggest complaint after daylight savings ends is that my kids would be waking up later throughout October because of the later sunrise time, and once we changed the clocks back, they?d be back to being awake super early. It felt like that was standard time?s gift that kept on giving. This is the first year when both of my kids slept until a reasonable time after we moved the clocks back, and only had a tough time adjusting their body clocks for meal times. So, if you?re also dealing with a younger child and measuring hours in dog years, hang in there! It gets better and more restful.

| Freddie Prinze Jr. explains why he and Sarah Michelle Gellar don't get papped | Added 2 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
|
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Geller have been together for 27 years and married for 22 years. Ahh, this makes me feel so old because I was in high school when they first got together. They have two children, a daughter, Charlotte, 15, and a son, Rocky, 12. Freddie and SMG go to great lengths to protect their family?s privacy, which includes keeping their children?s pictures out of the press and off of social media. They?re also just a pretty low-key couple in general. They do red carpets together to support each other?s projects, but we rarely see them being papped while out-and-about.
Freddie is the guest on the November 4 episode of the Oldish podcast, which is hosted by Randy Spelling, Brian Austin Green, and Sharna Burgess. During the interview, Randy mentioned to Freddie that he was impressed at how well the Prinzes (SMG legally changed her last name) are able to stay under-the-radar and out of the public?s eye. Freddie explained that for them, it?s actually quite easy to maintain their privacy. They simply stay away from the more popular celeb hangouts where paparazzi are swarming around and avoid them when they do show up in their neighborhood.
?Something that I?ve admired about your relationship is you both have seemed to stay out of the public,? Randy Spelling, one of the co-hosts said, which caused Freddie to respond, ?That?s by choice, though. You can control it to a certain degree.?
He added, ?I don?t know how deliberate [other celebrities] are in trying to avoid that BS. I know how easy it?s been for us because I don?t go anywhere. I don?t go to parties. People don?t see Sarah and I out and about at the popular places. We have our restaurants that we like, and they?re not super trendy in places where paparazzi hang out. So we?re good at avoiding it.?
He continued that he was ?not trying to sh-t on anyone? but it?s ?not that hard [to avoid attention,] if you really [want to.]?
?There?s times where [paparazzi] wait at the bottom of our street, but there?s people that are way more famous than me on my street. So I?ll just make sure they leave first. They?ll go follow Schwarzenegger and leave me alone. You know what I mean?? he shared.
?And I can count on one hand how many clubs I?ve been [to] my whole life,? Freddie added of his low key life.
[From JustJared]
This all makes total sense to me! I love that they?ve figured out the proper algorithm for maintaining their privacy. I cannot imagine how stressful it is to have to worry about public opinion while you?re just trying to eat sushi in peace, take your kid to the playground, or go buy some aspirin from Walgreens. I know that there are some people who are at such a level of fame that it?s hard to avoid being followed around, but there are also celebs at A through Z levels of fame that are able to successfully avoid the scrutiny. Freddie and Sarah Michelle seem like such ?normal,? non-attention-seeking people, and I?m so rooting for them to continue to be able to live their best lives. Remember when they first got married and everyone figured it wouldn?t last? I love that they?re still together, proving the haters wrong. Id love to see the two of them acting in another (new) project together.
You can listen to Freddies interview on Oldish here.
