Making another stop on the major cinema circuit, Madonna took over the spotlight at the 55th Annual BFI London Film Festival on Sunday night (October 23).
The Material Girl was on hand for the premiere of her directorial effort "W.E." while joined at the Empire Leicester Square venue by guests including Graham Norton, Claudia Winkleman and Liz Rosenberg.
Set to hit theaters December 9th, ?W.E.? is a two-tiered love story about Wally Winthrop, a woman in 1999 who is infatuated with the 1930s marriage of King Edward VIII.
Starring Abbie Cornish, James D?Arcy and Andrea Riseborough, the film gracefully weaves the past and present into two parallel plots.

She's been hot on the promotional trail over the past few weeks, and earlier today (October 23) Salma Hayek stepped out for the red carpet premiere of ?Puss in Boots? in Hollywood, California.
The Oscar-nominated actress was joined by fellow castmates Antonio Banderas, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton as the ensemble greeted the gathered crowd lining the entrance at Regency's Village Theatre.
Set to be released on October 28th, the Chris Miller directed film tells "a story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends."
Recently proclaiming how lucky she was to nab such a fabulous role, Miss Hayek (who voices Kitty Softpaws) dished, "I?ll tell you, I have a great win in this one. Everything [Puss] does, I outsmart him."
The 45-year-old added, ?How many times do you get a part where the female outsmarts [the male lead] every time in every way? And I?m always one step ahead, and [Kitty?s] actually a comprehensive character. I love her?I love her because she starts out one thing and she finishes as something else. [The movie] has an arc, it has a dramatic arc, and I think that Kitty Softpaws is a great female character, one of the few wonderful ones out there."

Heading overseas in hopes of higher earnings that its dismal $2.9 million opening day in the States, Milla Jovovich took center stage at the premiere of "The Three Musketeers" in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday night (October 22).
Held as part of the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival at Roppongi Hills, the 35-year-old actress joined alongside the film's director (who happens to be her husband) Paul W.S. Anderson and co-star Logan Lerman for the opening ceremony showcase.
The red carpet appearance comes on the heels of a surprising move by Miss Jovovich - as she took to Twitter to speak out against the film's U.S. distributor Summit Entertainment by criticizing their lack of promotional efforts for "The Three Musketeers".
Of the company, which is gearing up for the release of their top-earner "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn," Milla tweeted, ?Are ?summit? promoting it as a family adventure movie? Or are they resting on their laurels from ?twilight? n making no effort? Let me know!?
She added a short while later, ?I think ?summit? hve swept ?3 Musketeers?, a grt family adventure film, under the rug in the US. Shame on them. SHAME ON YOU ?SUMMIT?.?
Meanwhile, a Summit executive was asked by Deadline about Jovovich's harsh words, of which the staffer noted that Milla has been busy filming the next "Resident Evil" in Canada ?and working 15-hour days and probably didn?t see the campaign. She doesn?t know what she?s talking about and we don?t know where she?s coming from.?
The exec added, ?Wouldn?t you think she would call us first about this? It?s frustrating. it?s not the right way to behave. If she has a problem then come to the studio and talk about it.?

Tyler Perry just hired her for a supporting role in his new movie! Oh, Tyler. Girl, we need to talk.
In what amounts to her most substantial acting role so far, Kim Kardashian has signed on to costar in The Marriage Counselor, the Lionsgate film Tyler Perry will next direct, based on his stage play. Shooting begins October 26 in Atlanta. The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake. Jurnee Smollett plays the marriage counselor and Kardashian will play Ava, a co-worker who gives Judith a big city makeover and new confidence as she struggles with her personal issues. Kardashian previously played roles in the films Deep in the Valley and Disaster Movie.

Now, I?ve long defended Tyler Perry. One of the best things about Perry is that he consistently writes challenging characters for women of color, and he?s committed to hiring actresses that Hollywood has often ignored. But seriously - Kim Kardashian? WTF? Was he just *that* blown away by her greasy performance in ?Jam (Turn It Up)??
By the way, Kim was still in NYC, as was Kris Humphries, even after he was seen ?moving out? on Thursday. They celebrated her 31st birthday at The Darby on Friday in NYC, and then last night they were in Las Vegas together. You can read more about that BS here.

Enjoying another relaxing day in the sunshine state, Ashley Tisdale was spotted lounging poolside in Miami, FL on Saturday afternoon (October 22).
The former "High School Musical" star took to a reclining chair as she stripped down to a white bikini top with hot Pink bottoms before sprawling out and basking in the warm rays.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Miss Tisdale made the trip to Florida to spend a little quality time with her boyfriend, Scott Speer.
Scott's located in Miami while working on his directorial duties for the upcoming movie "Step Up 4" - which stars Alyson Stoner and Adam G. Sevani with a release date set for August 2012.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were finally photographed together. I mean, obviously, they?ve been photographed together before - they were love interests in The Green Lantern. But this is the first time they?ve been photographed together now that they are a couple. Now that Blake has dumped (???) Leonardo DiCaprio and whatever Ryan had with Scarlett Johansson and/or Sandra Bullock is over. Blake and Ryan were spotted leaving his rented apartment in Boston (where he?s filming R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges and Kevin Bacon). Surprisingly, Blake was the one who was covered up - you can?t even see her face in these pics. What good is that?
My favorite part of these photos is the big, pretty dog that is giving the whole situation the side-eye. Is that Ryan?s puppy? The dog is beautiful, and I think her/his side-eye speaks for all of us.
All of the major outlets got ?tips? on what?s going down with Ryan and Blake too. Blake?s publicist is a genius! People Magazine points out that today is Ryan?s 35th birthday, and that?s why Blake was in town - to help him ?celebrate?. Us Weekly reported that Blake and Ryan had a sushi date, and that Ryan took her to the South Station ?where Reynolds was seen giving Lively an affectionate goodbye.? A ?Lively source? tells Us Weekly, “They’re seeing each other casually. Now they’re both single and trying it out.” But! People Mag?s source claims: ?They are very much a couple. They’re really happy together.” So is it casual or not?!?
Meanwhile, Page Six had this weird story about Ryan and Blake hanging out with Sandra Bullock last week in NYC:
Sandra Bullock shared a racy night out with Ryan Reynolds and his girlfriend, Blake Lively, at downtown burlesque hot spot The Box. The trio hit the Lower East Side haunt late Thursday night to celebrate Reynolds? 35th birthday and were entertained by performances, including — wait for it — a ?suicidal pregnant prom queen devouring her young.?
Despite far-fetched reports that Oscar winner Bullock and ?Green Lantern? star Reynolds were dating this summer, a spy tells us, ?He was definitely with Blake. Sandra arrived with the couple and a group, and they watched some of the burlesque performers, who were part of the club?s homage to ?Deliverance? and also portrayed the ?suicidal prom queen.? The group had a great time and stayed late,? our source said. ?Sandra left with many of the others, leaving Blake and Ryan alone.?
Another source told us, ?Blake and Ryan were sitting downstairs holding hands and had bodyguards with them. They left together at around 2:15 a.m.?
Earlier, both ?Gossip Girl? star Lively and Bullock toasted Reynolds, who turns 35 tomorrow, at a private dinner in the Carriage House at Palma Restaurant on Cornelia Street.
A source reported, ?Both Sandra and Blake were at the dinner, which was for around 12 friends. He and Blake were being really cute and affectionate together.?
Bullock and Reynolds are longtime friends and starred together in 2009?s ?The Proposal.?
Reynolds and Lively denied reports that they were involved near the end of his marriage to Scarlett Johansson. But things have been heating up between the two following Lively?s split from Leonardo DiCaprio. They spent a weekend this month in Boston, where he?s shooting the crime movie ?R.I.P.D,? and Reynolds was seen kissing Lively at a train station before she got on the Acela back to New York. His rep didn?t get back to us.

So Blake did NOT steal Sandra Bullock?s man. Or if Blake did steal Ryan, Sandra has no hard feelings about it. But I suspect that Sandra and Ryan were simply friends this whole time. If I?m judging Ryan from the girls we know for sure that he?s been with since Alanis - Blake, ScarJo, that blonde model - I?d say that Ryan and Sandra probably never dated, that his ?type? at this point is blonde model-types who are rather vapid yet ambitious. He can?t handle a Sandra Bullock-type at this point.

I can?t even start with this. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon debuted ?dem babies? on 20/20 Friday night, and now we have access to 20-million photos of these babies. Instead of being in midst of a massive eye-roll twitch, I?m fully prepared to gush about how beautiful and amazing the babies are, and how proud I am of Nick and Mariah. Seriously, y?all! Dem babies are gorgeous, and I like that Mariah and Nick waited a while for the debut, and that once Roc and Roe finally came out, we now get to see lots of adorable pics of them. The star couple’s 6-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, made their TV debut on 20/20 Friday night during an interview their parents gave to Barbara Walters.
Along with the joy and pride of being a first-time mom, Carey, who told Walters she does not want to have more children, spoke about her difficult pregnancy.
“I don’t think I understood the enormity or the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” she explained. “It’s not just, oh you don’t look pretty and you have a bump.”
But parenthood certainly seems to suit the couple. “My family gives me everything,” Cannon gushed.
“It’s just love,” Carey said. “It’s a beautiful place to be.”
While dad expects Moroccan and Monroe “to get a PhD,” Carey suggested that she wants them to follow in her footsteps. “They really respond to music,” she said, before singing to the babies in their Manhattan nursery.
Lullabies may come easy for Carey ? who brought them into the world to the tune of her song “Fantasy” ? but opening herself up to marriage again was a different story.
“I never believe that anybody really likes me,” she admitted after Cannon ? who showed off his huge “Mariah” tattoo on his back ? told her she’s been his crush from day one. “I always think it’s some kind of joke or something.”
While Carey doesn’t specifically address her music mogul ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, she does say that her failed marriage in 1998 made her hesitant to say “I do” a second time.
“Initially I was afraid of the concept of marriage [again],” she said. “But this is a different situation and a different time in my life.”
Now, Carey insists, “No one will steal my spirit.”

Of course the babies entered the world hearing their mother sing. Of course. Of course Mariah expects them to be singers. And I continue to be impressed by Nick?s insistence that his kids get an education. As for the state of Mariah and Nick?s marriage? well, they?ve surprised me so far. I hope that they make it in the long run.
Oh, and this is maybe the BEST PHOTO EVER. Yes, Mariah is already draping Monroe in diamonds. OF COURSE.

After being treated to an intimate soiree at The Darby in New York City the previous evening, Kim Kardashian packed her bags and headed to Las Vegas for a grander bash on Saturday night (October 22).
The E! reality star celebrated her 31st birthday alongside husband Kris Humphries, as well as her mother Kris Jenner, sister Khloe and her hubby Lamar Odom, with the family taking to Sin City hotel The Cosmopolitan's Marquee nightclub.
Tweeting about the party plans prior to kicking things off, Miss Kardashian wrote, "Get ready Vegas! Marquee will be kray 2nite! Heard @KhloeKardashian @RealLamarOdom & @KrisJenner came 2 surprise me! I saw on twitter hehe"
As for what went down, the birthday blowout was open to the public with entertainment provided by DJ Cedric Gervais and Dutch Trance group Rank 1.
All looking fabulous, Kim and co. first worked the arrivals area before being ushered to a special VIP area while being served up drinks as they enjoyed conversation and a little dancing - with the birthday girl also being joined by DWTS pro Mark Ballas while being doted with a fancy sports car cake and a rendition of "Happy Birthday" spearheaded by Khloe.
Sending out her love upon party's end, the brunette beauty wrote, "Tonight was so much fun!!! Yummy meal at Lavo then fun night at Marquee! Thanks to everyone who came out! Now jetting back to LA!"
The Las Vegas party comes on the heels of some big career news for Kim, as it was announced on Friday that she's been cast to star in Tyler Perry?s upcoming movie, "The Marriage Counselor."

Spending the weekend enjoying the cool fall weather in the Big Apple, Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand embarked on a romantic bike ride together in New York City on Saturday (October 22).
The superstar couple looked fashionable as the "Firework" singer rocked a Mickey Mouse ears beanie, a purple leopard print scarf, and purple leather pants for the peddling advendture.
During the course of their outing, Perry and Brand ended up visiting the Occupy Wall Street protestors - stopping at one point to pose for a photo hip hop guru Russell Simmons.
Having previously taken to his website to comment on the ongoing series of demonstrations in Zuccotti Park, Brand stated that Occupy Wall Street "is already a success."
He added, "America is awake and with it the American dream has awoken."
