Here is Olivia Munn gracing the cover of the mag’s February 2015 issue, and inside its pages, the Mortdecai star gets geeky talking about her love for gadgets and also shows off some serious cleavage.
“My sisters were always doing makeup and curlers, and I wasn’t interested in that,” she recalls. “As early as I can remember, when we’d all be kicked outside for the summer, my brothers and I would make a huge fort and string out the electricity from inside and build an air-conditioning unit. In the winter we built igloos. We made them so perfect that we’d be sweating inside. For fun, occasionally we’d decide to do something like make our own batteries out of pennies. We’d just create.”

Bringing an end to her holiday vacation, Emmy Rossum showed up at LAX International Airport on Sunday afternoon (December 28). The lovely ?Phantom of the Opera? starlet looked regal in a fur-lined black wool coat with oversized sunglasses as she brushed past some shutterbugs and exited the terminal.
In her recent interview with Variety, Emmy gushed over the upcoming season of her hit Showtime series ?Shameless.?
Rossum stated, ?Things have to get better for [my character] Fiona because they got really rough last year for her with jail and drugs. She?s going to be a little more introspective, and a little slower to throw the first punch.?

| Evangeline Lilly: 'I don't believe in forever promises. I don't think it's realistic' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Evangeline Lilly covers the January issue of Ocean Drive to promote The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. The last time we covered her, she revealed herself as a clueless non-feminist who wasn’t interested in “trying to pretend to be a man.” Evangeline talked about how roles came to her doorstep, and she never auditions for anything. This was reason enough for her to believe feminism isn’t necessary in today’s world. Evangeline previously said she would love to be barefoot and pregnant forever (because it’s “like a dream“), which sounded like an interview from a different person.
Adding to this confusion is this new discussion about Evangeline’s partner, Norman Kali. They’ve been together for 5 years and are parents to a 3-year-old son named Kahekili. Evangeline says she’s not into marriage, but she wants to have 6 kids. Kahekili is a stay-at-home dad, which is perfectly cool. But I have no idea how this fits in with Evangeline’s desire to be barefoot, pregnant, and not a feminist:
She doesn’t believe in lifelong love: “In my world, I don?t believe in forever promises. I don?t think it?s realistic.”
She still might marry her dude: “Every other 16-year-old girl wanted to look at bridal magazines; I could not have been more bored with the notion.I have an American son and an American partner, so marriage might logistically make sense at one point. My partner is a stay-at-home father, so if he wants to be on my health plan, or taxwise, or maybe on paper we want to have our I?s dotted and our T?s crossed, but emotionally neither of us really feels the need for it. We love each other today, and we hope we?ll love each other tomorrow.”
She’s thinking of adopting four kids? “What I wanted originally was six kids. I frickin? love being pregnant. I?m one of the lucky women who just had a blissful pregnancy, but I wanted to adopt four. My partner and I have really been through the ringer in the adoption world and it?s hard, so we?ll see what happens. Life is magically beautiful, and it brings you what is perfect.”
Being a mother “grounded” her: “I spent a lot of time in the clouds. Becoming a mother has really helped me put my feet on the ground and given me a very powerful sense of self and a powerful sense of priority in life. All I have to do is see my son to do that mental check that says, ?Is this really important? Do you really need to be doing this? Do you really care?? It helps put everything in perspective when things get stressful or when there?s a demand or pressure on me. At the end of the day, it?s our family, it?s being a mother and a partner and seeing love all around.”
She’s still trying to deal with her fame: “It just didn?t work for me.”
[From Ocean Drive]
Evangeline is an odd duck. I remember an interview she gave to Jay Leno, and she talked about working as a flight attendant. She got angry at a passenger and farted in his face! Perhaps she has impulse control problems? Evangeline famously retired from acting after a 6-season run on Lost. She made a quick comeback for the Hobbit films. She didn’t enjoy fame or anything that came with it. I don’t think she knows what she wants, from her love life or career. We’ll be seeing her soon in Ant-Man. So much for retirement, again.

| Sofia Vergara & Joe Manganiello are engaged after six months of dating | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Not to be crude, but I would imagine Sofia Vergara?s knockers are so amazing that men regularly propose to her as soon as they see her (them?). I seriously believe that men see her and think ?I HAVE TO LOCK THIS DOWN.? Sofia was previously engaged to Nick Loeb, which was an on-and-off thing, but he never got to lock it down. Perhaps because he?s kind of a d-bag. And now Sofia is with Joe Manganiello, who always looks (to me) like the personification of a grunt. But Joe just had to propose as well.
It’s official: The world of wedded bliss just got a whole lot hotter. Sofa Vergara is engaged to Joe Manganiello, E! News confirms. The good-looking pair, who became inseparable after they first started dating in July, have yet to publicly announce the news, although a source tells E! News that the True Blood hottie popped the question on Christmas Day.
“I’ve never seen two people so truly in love,” a source says of the engaged lovebirds. “The way they talk to each other, touch each other. It’s incredible.”
Since coupling up, the super-sexy duo has not only been making headlines for their attractive appearance (seriously, have you ever seen a hotter couple?!), but also for their whirlwind romance, as the two quickly became quite serious following the end of Vergara’s engagement to former fianc Nick Loeb.
In December, the couple prompted engagement speculation when they were spotted out jewelry shopping in Los Angeles, where Manganeillo purchased a $640 rose ring for his gorgeous girlfriend, and, less than one month later, they were photographed looking blissfully in love while on vacation in Hawaii.
[From E! News]
Well? it?s sweet. I actually don?t have a problem with them as a couple, and I think they?re probably very happy together. The thing that bugged Nick Loeb was that Sofia was just so famous and she was building her own empire/brand, but with Joe, I don?t see that being a problem. Joe seems very happy to have Sofia do her thing. Maybe I?m projecting on him and he?s really not the meathead I think he is, but I imagine for Sofia, dating/being engaged to Joe is very ?easy.? It?s not fraught, it?s not a lot of drama, it?s not crazy. They just have fun and neither of them thinks too hard about it.

| Giada De Laurentiis & husband Todd separate after 11 years of marriage | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|

|
|
|
Well, well, well. After years of blind items and sketchy tabloid reports, it seems that where there was smoke, there was fire. Giada De Laurentiis and her husband Todd Thompson have split after 11 years of marriage. If you watch Giada?s Food Network show, you?ve seen Giada cooking for Todd and his friends for years. He seemed to adore his wife, although? I don?t know, Todd just struck me as such an achingly vanilla guy. Giada brought all the spice to their marriage, you know? Giada and Todd have been together since they were kids, and they have one child, daughter Jade, together. Giada announced the split on Facebook:
After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage. Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family’s happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths. Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything. We are so thankful for our friends and family, and really appreciate the support in this time of change.
[From Facebook]
This is the thing to do these days ? announce your split during the holidays. Chris Rock knows what I?m talking about. I guess celebrities think that people won?t be paying as close attention to them. I wonder how that works out for them.
Anyway?E! News has a detailed story full of old quotes about their marriage. Giada says her family used to give Todd a hard time because he?s not Italian, but they grew to love him. E! News points out that Giada works and travels a lot and that was probably pretty hard on them. E! also brought up the John Mayer rumors, which? I mean, I always suspected those stories were true. She denied it at the time though. Maybe they’re splitting because of Giada’s obsession with minuscule food portions.
Oh, and E! brought out this stupid old quote from Giada: “I think it can be hard for any man to sometimes be upstaged by his wife. So when I’m home, I work very hard to be Todd’s wife and Jade’s mother. I have no problem going back to those traditional roles. I try to be Giada, the young girl that he met 20 years ago and fell in love with. All men want to be treated like kings in a relationship, and I think if women don’t indulge that sometimes, their men are likely to stray and look for someone who can give that to them. It’s simple. It’s not brain surgery.” Shut your pie hole, Giada.

| Does Angelina Jolie deserve credit for the box office success of 'Unbroken?' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
As we discussed last Friday, Angelina Jolie?s Unbroken is performing very well at the box office. Unbroken wasn?t the #1 film at the long holiday weekend box office (#1 was The Hobbit), but it performed better than expected, and came in at a respectable #2 with about $47.6 million over four days. So how did Angelina manage to do it? Variety had a good story analyzing why so many holiday audiences might have been drawn to Unbroken ? basically, the film is a religious-audience-friendly vehicle about faith, redemption, hope and the human spirit. Plus, bonus points because the story is true? and a well-known story amongst Evangelical audiences. Some key points from the Variety piece:
?At this time of year stories about faith and how strong the human spirit is do huge numbers,? said Jeff Bock, an analyst with Exhibitor Relations. Bock compares ?Unbroken? to ?The Blind Side,? which also drew crowds in the big cities and Middle America by emphasizing uplift. ?Unbroken? debuted to $31.7 million over the weekend and has made $47.3 million since opening on Christmas, stunning box office prognosticators who had expected it to make $10 million less than it collected. The oft-repeated mantra in trailers and other promotional materials, ?If you can take it, you can make it,? gave the film a quasi-religious, redemptive aura that made it seem seasonally appropriate.
?It?s an inspirational film that played to all the quadrants,? said Nikki Rocco, Universal?s distribution chief. ?The studio did an incredible marketing job telling the story of this hero.?
But ?The Blind Side? had Sandra Bullock, while ?Unbroken? is grounded by newcomer Jack O?Connell. That left Jolie to do the heavy lifting when it came to promoting the picture on ?Today? and on the cover of magazines such as Variety. After ?Maleficent? became the third biggest film of the year on a global basis, ?Unbroken?s? success helps solidify her status as one of the industry?s preeminent movie stars ? something that had been questioned given her four-year absence from screens.
?Angeline Jolie, along with Louis Zamperini, is the biggest star of the movie,? said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with Rentrak. ?Her name on the film raised awareness higher than it otherwise would have been.?
[From Variety]
I heard that several religious leaders in America endorsed Unbroken as well ? likely because of Zamperini?s close affiliation with Billy Graham ? and it feels like the film was well-marketed to cross-generational adults. When I went to see it on a Sunday afternoon, I saw a lot of young adults there with their moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas. Box office prognosticators are now revising their previous low-ball predictions and saying that Unbroken could easily break $100 million during its theatrical run. As for what I thought about it?
SPOILERS FOR UNBROKEN?.
I liked the film but I didn?t love it. I don?t really blame Angelina for that, and not just because I?m a Brangeloonie. I think there were script issues, which is weird because I would have thought that Joel and Ethan Coen (both of whom have screenwriter credits) could have punched up the last hour significantly.
I?ve seen a lot of critics complain about the torture, and yes, it was hard to watch. It was difficult to read in Laura Hillenbrand?s book as well, but Hillenbrand managed to break up the torture scenes with interesting details about life in a POW camp. Hillenbrand also took pains to emphasize that some Japanese guards actually looked out for the POWs, and that The Bird was loathed/disrespected by many of his coworkers. All of that was missing from the film. You could try to explain it with ?Angelina just couldn?t find a way to work that stuff in without bloating the run time,? but honestly? I could have cut 15 to 20 minutes out of the last hour, easily, and it still would have been the same film? with the same torture problem. Why not use those 15 minutes to show different aspects of the camp and even bulk up Garrett Hedlund?s character, who was one of my favorite characters in the book?
I also think the film short-changed some of the funnier, cooler moments from the book. I personally could not believe that Louis?s handshake with Adolf Hitler was left out. I would have loved to spend more time with Louis in Hawaii, build more about his friendships within his crew. I didn?t mind that the film didn?t include Gaga the duck though ? Angelina explained to Entertainment Weekly why they couldn?t do the Gaga scenes and I don?t think the film is poorer for it. And this really bugged me, but maybe I?m off my rocker: were those the correct Japanese flags? If you?re a WWII history expert, please tell me. Because I feel pretty confident that the flags being flown at the POW camp ? a camp operated by the Japanese military during wartime! ? should have been this one, the Rising Sun flag.
Now that I?ve bitched and moaned about everything, let me just say: I actually do think it?s a good movie and I was impressed with Angelina?s direction at several moments, especially in aerial scenes in the bomber and in the pre-devastation of Tokyo. Jack O?Connell gave an incredible performance, as did Domhnall Gleeson and Garrett Hedlund. Miyavi played a good psycho, but I also understand why Miyavi has been left off of many Best Supporting Actor lists, and once again, that’s on the script. And I?m glad someone finally had the balls to make this movie, you know? It?s been sitting around various studios for decades and Angelina finally made it happen.

There?s nothing like a swanky getaway and plenty of retail therapy to help heal a broken heart and Mariah Carey dropped some serious cash while shopping in Aspen, Colorado on Sunday (December 28). The ?All I Want for Christmas Is You? songstress checked in at the Louis Vuitton boutique before heading into several other shops to browse the racks.
Meanwhile, Mariah?s ex-husband Nick Cannon is said to be working on a new album and his lyrics are definitely aimed at Ms. Carey herself.
Mally Mall, who claims to be producing the project, told press, ?He's talking about Mariah on the records. There's going to be a lot of controversy."
