Back in March, the trial of the year went down in a Park City, Utah courtroom. The defendant was a rich, misunderstood, vagina-egg lovin? nepo baby and the plaintiff was a retired optometrist who sadly lost his ability to enjoy wine tastings. The media loved it. The people on social media loved it. A new set of memes and an appreciation for white turtlenecks and aviators was born.
I am, of course, referencing Gwyneth Paltrow?s ski accident trial. A quick recap: Gwyneth and her family were skiing in Park City back in 2016 when she collided with another skier, Terry Sanderson. Sanderson sued Paltrow for $3 million (later reduced to $300,000) in damages, claiming he?d suffered broken bones and lasting brain damage. The Goopster countersued for $1 in damages and the cost of legal fees. She won and told Sanderson, ?I wish you well,? on the way out. That this is a thing that happened still blows my mind. But, you know what this whole scenario really needed? A musical about it.
Audiences eager to revisit the peaks and valleys of Gwyneth Paltrow?s legal battle over a skiing accident should consider a trip to England, where a stage musical based on the much-publicized trial will premiere next month.
Set to open Dec. 13 at London?s Pleasance Theatre, ?Gwyneth Goes Skiing? is billed by theater company Awkward Productions as ?a story of love, betrayal, skiing, and (somehow) Christmas.?
Actor Linus Karp stars as Paltrow, while longtime collaborator Joseph Martin portrays Terry Sanderson, the retired optometrist who accused the Oscar winner and Goop founder of crashing into him on the slopes of Utah?s Deer Valley Resort in 2016.
Although the March trial ended in Paltrow?s favor, attendees will serve as the jury and ultimately decide the outcome in its theatrical counterpart.
?She?s the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar,? a logline on Pleasance Theatre?s website reads. ?He?s a retired Optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing. On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided, and so did they ? literally. Ouch. Seven years later in 2023, they went to court. Double ouch.?
Though other specifics of the production are scarce, the show will feature music by singer-songwriter Leland, who has previously collaborated with Cher and Troye Sivan, among other pop artists.
On Wednesday, Leland teased his involvement with the show with a tongue-in-cheek post on X, the social platform formerly known as Twitter.
?Wait till you hear the 11 o?clock number,? he wrote.
Just how ?Gwyneth Goes Skiing? will fare with critics and theatergoers remains to be seen. However, it?s safe to say that the real-life case on which the musical is based became a televised, meme-ified spectacle that seems ripe for dramatic treatment.
Media coverage of the two-week trial was breathless. The New Yorker deemed it Paltrow?s ?best role in years,? noting that the actor had ?unabashedly leaned into every stereotype that has ever been used to label her, in a performance that rises to the level of Ryan Murphy-esque high camp.?

I didn?t need that king-sized Kit Kat I just stole from my son?s Halloween basket but I enjoyed the hell out of it anyway. I don?t need to tell y?all that it?s been a rough almost-decade. I chose to find glee (see what I did there?) in something as absurd as this. London-based peeps, you have to go to Gwyneth Goes Skiing and report back. My sister lives in London and no joke, I?m about to text her to go get tickets. I expect it to be just as campy, outrageous, and magical as the description makes it sound. Oh, I do hope that it becomes a cult classic and gets the Rocky Horror Picture Show treatment with people dressing up and calling things out with prompts. Man, what a time to be alive. Gwyneth Paltrow covers this week?s issue of People Magazine. She?s promoting multiple things, mainly the 15th anniversary of Goop and Goop?s new Target/Amazon beauty line, Good Clean Goop. This is like the third thing I?ve read or watched from Gwyneth as she looks down her nose at the peasants who want affordable beauty and skincare products. Every single time, she mentions the fact that she would have loved to put more ingredients better ingredients into the product line but they had to keep the costs down, so you?ll take what you can get and you?re welcome, peasants. That?s what she talks about in the People Mag cover story video, but in the print edition, she?s talking a lot about her 50s and being on the verge of having an empty nest.
Her 50s: ?I had the erroneous idea that I would be able to downshift a little bit. But life is very full-on. Its been very intense.?

When Taylor Swift is touring in North America, she times out the concert dates to have four or five-day blocs where she returns to one of her homes and chills out. I thought it would be different when she?s touring internationally, that Taylor would have a lot to do and a lot to manage, and it would be a giant time-suck to constantly fly back and forth to the US in-between tour dates. I was wrong Taylor flew back to New York after her Argentina concerts, and then shell fly down to Brazil in a few days. She was out last night in NYC like jet-lag doesnt even affect her. After South America, she has a touring break in December and January. After that, it?s Asia and Australia in February-March, then Europe in May through August. A European summer next year! I wonder if Travis Kelce will still be around by then. I also wonder if Taylor?s fans are more invested in Traylor than Taylor herself is invested in the relationship. ?A source? went to People Mag to talk about what it meant to Taylor that Travis flew down to Argentina to see her shows.

It feels like she?s marking things off of a checklist. And I agree, Travis is great on paper. If we were creating a perfect man for Taylor, we would have written down all of those qualities secure in himself, has his own career, has his own money, he?s respectful, he?s family-oriented, he?s funny and dorky. But sometimes the good-on-paper guys aren?t the ones you end up marrying. Maybe I?m totally off-base here, but what I?ve predicted all along is that Taylor is gonna end up fighting her own urge to sabotage this relationship. As someone with a strong contrarian streak, I understand that completely sometimes when everyone around you is pressuring you or trying to convince you of something, you just want to walk away from it completely.

Imagine spending all of that time, money, effort and energy transforming your body into a plastic doll with a tiny waist and an oversized ass, only to wear one of the most unflattering dresses ever. So it is with Kim Kardashian. Kim attended the big Baby2Baby Gala over the weekend, alongside many other celebrities, actresses, socialites, etc. Baby2Baby has become one of the biggest charities attracting big-names, especially in LA. Kim has attended the gala before and, to her credit, she seems to give a sh-t about the good cause. Kim wore this Balenciaga dress which just shows you that even with an A-list label, not every look is a serve. This is just? not a good dress, at all. Kim made it much worse by doing ?wet look? hair as well.
Salma Hayek looked great in green seriously, this is such a flattering dress and color for her. Salma was honored with the Giving Tree Award.
Chrissy Teigen?s dress was actually pretty good, but she needs to stop with the plastic surgery.
Ayesha Curry is so pretty, and the color of this dress really pops (although the design is meh).
Kirsten Dunst looked good in a weird dress! Jesse Plemons has lost so much weight!
Lori Harvey, fresh from her breakup with Damson Idris, flew solo at the event. The dress doesn?t look comfortable and Lori looks like she?s thinking ?are the girls about to pop out???

Last night, the South American leg of Taylor Swift?s Eras Tour began in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She?s performing three nights in a row in Argentina, so she has concerts at Estadio River Plate tonight and Saturday night as well. The big gossip ahead of her first show was ?where is Travis Kelce?? The Kansas City Chiefs have a week off their next game isn?t until November 20th. Outlets like NBC News and Page Six had sources claiming that Travis was absolutely going to South America to see his girlfriend?s concerts. But? he wasn?t in the audience last night in Buenos Aires.
There was a ?Blank Space? in the Buenos Aires crowd Thursday night. It seems that Travis Kelce was absent from Taylor Swift?s first Eras Tour concert in Argentina, despite eagle-eyed fans searching the crowd all night.
Page Six confirmed Wednesday that Kelce would be traveling to the South American country to support the 12-time Grammy winner.
Swift still has two shows to perform in Buenos Aires on Friday and Saturday, respectively, so the NFL star still has the chance to support his girlfriend.
Although Kelce was seemingly not in attendance, Swift still put on a flawless performance in front of over 70,000 fans as she kicked off the international leg of her record-breaking tour.
An insider close to the NFL star, 34, told Page Six Wednesday that he was definitely traveling to see the pop star, 33, perform over the weekend ? yet they didn?t specify which show he planned to attend.

If sources are saying ?weekend,? I bet Travis makes it to the Saturday concert. I wonder if that?s what Taylor prefers as well it?s probably quite an ordeal to get all of her concert setpieces to South America and making sure the crew and her team are all prepared and everything. She?s busy, is what I?m saying. After Saturday, Taylor doesn?t have another concert until another three-nights-in-a-row situation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, starting November 17th. I wonder if Travis is going to spend a few days Taylor?s ?off days? with Tay in Argentina or Brazil.

Yesterday, Ivanka Trump made her long-awaited appearance in a Manhattan courtroom to testify as part of the penalties phase of her father?s civil fraud trial. Donald Trump has already been found liable of fraud, so right now the judge is trying to determine the penalties. Previously, the court threw out any charges for Ivanka, so she was there purely as a witness to her father?s long history of lies about his finances. Ivanka ended up getting high marks from the reporters inside the courtroom because she was calm, she never raised her voice and she stayed on topic, if the topic was ?I do not recall.?
On Wednesday, Ms. Trump appeared not as a top executive of the Trump Organization, but as a former employee, albeit one with a highly personal connection to the case. She played a key role in establishing some of the company?s relationships with lenders ? particularly Deutsche Bank ? and answered questions about the loan terms.
The attorney general?s team presented Ms. Trump with a 2011 email in which she told a Trump Organization colleague that the favorable terms of a deal would be possible only if backed by a guarantee about her father?s net worth.
?It doesn?t get better than this,? Ivanka Trump said of the generous terms in 2011. ?Let?s discuss ASAP.?
The bank?s offer required the Trump Organization to maintain a minimum net worth of $3 billion, excluding any value tied to Mr. Trump?s brand, illustrating a central contention of the attorney general?s case: that loan terms were predicated on Mr. Trump?s wealth, and that his annual financial statements were submitted each year to uphold those terms.
In another email exchange, the family?s banker at Deutsche Bank, Rosemary Vrablic, offered the Trump Organization another set of favorable terms, prompting Ms. Trump to thank her profusely, saying, ?You are the best Rosemary!?
Yet Ms. Trump, when asked about the annual financial statements, clammed up. At one point, she was asked about an occasion on which she was called to defend them. The meeting was with a government agency that was evaluating her company?s bid to develop the Old Post Office, a federal building in Washington that became the Trump International Hotel.
?I don?t recall them having discussed financial statements specifically,? she says. ?The whole meeting was mainly about our vision for the project.?

It sucks that Ivanka basically baby-whispered and pseudo-girl-bossed her way out facing consequences for the insurrection, for her father?s entire fascist presidency and for her family?s decades-long criminal fraud. Hilariously, Ivanka tried to get out of testifying by citing her children?s school schedule, but the judge ordered her to appear. I saw Letitia James? presser after Ivanka?s testimony and James seemed kind of subdued, like she expected Ivanka to crack and Ivanka didn?t.
Ivanka did get heckled with crime family as she entered the courthouse.

While ?loving autumn? has been commercialized to the point of collective nausea, I really do love everything about this time of year. Cold mornings, cool afternoons. Layers, but rarely heavy coats. Long sleeves, knitwear. Warm cups of tea or hot chocolate. Plentiful apples. Everything feels crisp. Well, Taylor Swift loves autumn too. It?s remarkable to think about this, but she really has lived in New York for a decade now. I don?t think about it like that because I?m pretty sure she spent much of the Joe Alwyn-relationship in England, but still, New York has been her primary residence for a decade. She must love an East Coast autumn, and she has the fall wardrobe to prove it.
These are photos of Taylor out on Friday night. As you can see, she got her autumn clothes out wide-leg canvas (?) trousers in some kind of muddy olive shade and a Gucci sweater in shades of brown. She paired the look with a caramel-leather purse and heeled boots. A very autumnal look, but she has much better cold-weather style than this. I actually think the Gucci sweater is completely fug, but I?m sure it costs thousands.
Taylor went out to dinner with Phoebe Bridgers, who opened for the Eras Tour for several months. Bridgers and Swift have become close friends in recent years. They went to Minetta Tavern in Greenwich Village, and according to the owner of the restaurant, Taylor and Phoebe ate ?baked oysters and foie gras amouse bouche,? and Taylor really liked the foie gras. Ew. I don?t fk with foie gras, but a lot of wealthy people do. Baked oysters sound nice though. Let me look at this menu oh, it?s French cuisine, with sort of a New York twist. The truffle-roasted chicken is what I would get, hands down. The dessert list is BONKERS. I love that Taylor goes out to New York?s cool restaurants with her girlfriends.
Meanwhile, Taylor?s boyfriend Travis Kelce is in Germany this weekend, where the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt. At the team?s press conference in Germany, he was asked if Taylor would be flying in. Travis wouldn?t say, but he did say this: When I mention, or everyone knows shes at the game, the Vegas line and over/under on my catches goes up and down. The spread goes up and down. So I dont want to mess with any of that stuff. Im just going to keep that to myself. He was asked if there was any update on his romance and he said: The latest status is, ?I got to see her last week.' Then he was asked if he?s in love with Taylor and he said, ?I?m going to keep my personal relationship personal.? He handled that deftly.

Matthew Perry passed away at his home on Saturday. TMZ reportedly paid off a police source to break the news before Perry?s family was informed of his passing. Hellish. Perry?s family came to the scene quickly and the family made some heartbreaking statements. It felt like everyone was waiting for Perry?s Friends costars to speak out, and they waited until they all agreed on a joint statement. They kept it simple. I?m sure they?re all devastated.
The Friends cast is mourning one of their own. Two days after Matthew Perrys sudden death, his fellow castmates from the hit television series ? Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc and David Schwimmer ? spoke out in a joint statement, exclusively obtained by PEOPLE.
We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family, their statement reads. There is so much to say, but right now we?re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
In time we will say more, as and when we are able, the statement continues. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty?s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.
The message is then signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer.
Series co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane were joined by executive producer Kevin Bright in issuing a joint statement on Sunday.
?We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew?s passing,? they wrote. ?It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. He was a brilliant talent.? Reflecting on Perry?s breakout performance, they noted, ?It?s a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew?s case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us.?
Kaufman, Crane and Brights statement continued, ?We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment ? not just to his work, but in life as well. Calling him ?Matty? broke my heart a little bit that was his nickname with the Friends cast. I hope they?re all talking and supporting each other at this time. While I knew Perry was well-liked within Hollywood, I?ve been surprised by just how many celebrities have been mourning him as a longtime friend. Salma Hayek also posted a statement (they worked together on Fools Rush In) and Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in her statement that they hooked up in their 20s.

I always found it interesting that Zoe filed for divorce soon after she met Channing Tatum for the first time, when she basically auditioned him for a film she would eventually direct. Zoe and Channing have truly been together ever since, and now they?re engaged.
Channing Tatum and Zo Kravitz are headed to the altar! Multiple sources tell PEOPLE exclusively the couple ? who were first linked in 2021 ? are recently engaged.
Over the weekend the stars were photographed leaving a Halloween party, and Kravitz (dressed as Rosemary Woodhouse from the 1968 horror movie Rosemarys Baby) seemingly showed off her new engagement ring in the snaps.

Here are some photos of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly over the weekend, attending Kendall Jenner?s big Halloween party and Casamigos? big party. Megan and MGK did two different Halloween looks for the parties. For the Casamigos party, their ?couples costumes? were inspired by Quentin Tarantino?s Kill Bill films. MGK was The Bride and Megan was Gogo Yubari, the young Japanese assassin killed by The Bride.
A few weeks ago, SAG-AFTRA issued guidance for their union members when it comes to Halloween and social media. While there were complaints about the guidance, I?m sure the union only made the statement because their members had questions about whether Halloween costumes constituted ?promoting struck work.? As such, SAG-AFTRA?s guidelines were that none of their union members should dress up as well-known characters from TV shows or films which are currently on strike. As in, no Marvel characters, no Barbie or Ken, no Oppenheimer, no Batman, nothing like that. Again, this guidance was solely for union members, not regular people, not family members of actors. I also think it was mostly about social media too, and how actors post their costumes on Instagram.
I would assume that QT?s Kill Bill characters constitute ?struck work,? and apparently Megan thought so. When she posted pics of her costume on Instagram and she tagged SAG-AFTRA. Super-edgy from someone who has not appeared at any strike and who has not been included in any reporting about actors donating to SAG Foundation funds to help struggling actors. Megan is trying to rage against the machine, and the machine in question is her own fking union, which is merely trying to HELP ACTORS.
